Ky clenched his fists as a new kind of feeling welled inside of him. He felt his eyes burn and his heart beating faster. Despite the cool look on Crenu's face, Ky drank it in, smiling as he let this new passion drive him like an adrenaline he had never felt before. This was more than a battle, more than a simple challenge. This was a fight he couldn't afford to lose.
Ky met Crenu's eyes with a look of confidence he had never achieved before. Where Crenu's glare might have struck with ice, Ky's struck with fire. Ky answered with a nod. "You're going to regret saying that, Crenu, 'cause if it's your friendship on the line, THERE'S NO WAY I CAN HOLD BACK!!!"
Not wanting to lose his momentum, Ky turned quickly and kneeled in front of Rex. He'd need three Pokemon for this fight. "What do you say, Rex? Can you help me out? I know this is sudden, but I need you. I need to show that guy that I'm just as strong as he is, and just by looking at that Poliwag over there, I know you can beat it hands down!"
It was indeed sudden for the small, one-eyed Totodile, and it took him a while to fully absorb Ky's words. Normally, he hated fights. They were painful and frightening. Nevertheless, he had never met eyes quite like Ky's. Ky seemed desperate and pleading at first, but what Rex really found was nothing of the sort. Ky was caring, both for his friend and for Rex, and such warmth easily transfered to Rex's heart. Also, even if just for a moment, he silently thanked Ray, the trainer he had grown to despise. Ray really cared after all; he left him with Ky.
Fists clenched, Rex nodded with authority, awaiting Ky's command. Smiling, Ky took no hesitation, spun around on his heel, and faced Crenu once again, glancing at the opposing Poliwag. He wondered how strong this new addition of Crenu's was, but didn't let it bother him.
"All right, charge in there and use Scratch!" Ky called. As an afterthought, Ky realized he had no real idea about how strong Rex was either. Nevertheless, it was safe to use moves Ky knew Rex would have. Calling out an unlearned ability would only give Crenu an opportunity, so it was best not to guess, yet.
To Ky's credit, Rex didn't show any signs of inexperience. As soon as he heard the command, Rex dashed at full speed towards the Poliwag, holding his small claws back in anticipation to strike. Not only that, but as he closed in, he made a few unpredictable side-hops, using the last hop to leap forward, aiming to dig his claws deeply into the Poliwag's chest.

Almost every atom in his body wanted to decline Kasiya's sudden (and rather unexpected) challenge, but those few rogue cells within him screamed to accept. As the Jolteon materialized before him, Keegan's resolve became crystal clear. "All right, if that's how you want it," he growled, eyeing the electric type. He didn't know much about the Pokemon that Kasiya now carried with her, but he did know they were significantly weaker than her primary party. His fingers closed tightly around the red and blue Great Ball clipped to his belt, and he withdrew it, enlarging it with a press of the button located in its center. "Just promise me you won't hold back just because we're friends," he added, his tone quite venomous. "Let's go, Tierra! You're up!"
The Great Ball spun from his fingertips and burst open on the concrete ground before them. The white light formed quickly into the shape of the lazy Geodude, and she yawned loudly, looking annoyed that she'd been awoken. "Listen up Tierra!" Keegan practically barked at her. "Now's not the time for a nap, it's time to battle!" He pointed at the Jolteon. "Attack! Get in there and use your Magnitude!"
Normally, the Geodude would have ignored the words coming from the boy's mouth, but the look in his eyes was intense, and the rock type decided for once not to go against him. Tierra lifted herself up off of the ground, and brought both of her stony fists down onto the ground around her. Magnitude 6! Small cracks began to appear from where the Pokemon's fists touched down, and they quickly spread towards Flash, sending small bits of cement into the air.

Kasiya felt her rage grow slightly at Keegan's comment. "I DID NOT HOLD BACK!!!!" she yelled, shaking her fists. She knew the comment stemmed back to the battle she'd had with Jaeshan a while back, right here in this very square. She'd managed to eke out a win, but that wasn't the point. It would have been an insult to her friend as well as her Pokemon not to fight with her full strength, and she intended to do the same right now against Keegan. "Hang in there Flash!" she shouted, realizing that he'd provoked her into letting him make the first move. Flash could have easily run circles around that lump of rock, but her anger had temporarily blinded her.
Flash felt his knees buckle a little from the force of the Magnitude, but he stood his ground. He had a bit more experience than the Geodude did, and he wasn't done for yet. He growled, sending more static electricity crackling across his spiky body as he shrugged off the aching pains in his legs. "Fight back with Double Kick!" Kasiya ordered quickly. In a streak of yellow, Flash darted forward, leaping up and over the Geodude and kicking backwards with his strong hind legs, hoping to land a pair of sharp kicks into the Rock-type's rugged body.

Keegan just smirked and touched his index and middle fingers to his lips, and blew a kiss towards Kasiya. Now he was just being an a**, but he didn't care. He often let his temper get the better of him, and now was certainly one of those times. It was almost as if his sudden desire to win made him forget just whom he was battling.
Damn, I'd forgotten just how fast Jolteon are, he thought, frowning. There was no way Tierra could keep up with Flash, no matter what she did. "Brace yourself! Incoming!" he shouted, hoping the Geodude could react in time. Tierra raised a stony arm up only to have it kicked back by Flash's hind foot. The first strike was followed up by a second strong kick, but this one wasn't deflected by her arm and struck her right in the center of her back. The blow sent her into the ground, causing more of the concrete to crack around her. Keegan eyed the destruction they were causing and smirked again. "Rock Blast, Tierra! Now! Rapid fire as best you can!"
Tierra looked down at the cracked ground and smashed her fist into it once again. Large chunks of cement jutted out on various angles, and the Geodude snatched up piece after piece and began to hurl them as hard as she could at the speedy Jolteon.

Ignoring Keegan's gesture, Kasiya tried to focus on the battle instead of him. If he thinks I'm falling for his taunts, he's got another thing coming, she thought, glaring at the Geodude as it began to smash up the ground around it. "Flash! Look out!" she shouted, once she had realized what their opponents were up to.
Flash ducked low to the ground to avoid the first piece of cement that was hurled at him, and jumped up to avoid the second. Tierra seemed to have honed in onto where he planned to go next, because the third throw hit him squarely in the chest as he attempted to dodge, sending him reeling with a painful yelp. Two more chunks of cement hit him next, both on the right side of his body. The Jolteon grit his teeth and pulled himself to his feet, growling angrily at the rocky Pokemon.
"We can take her out with one hit, Flash!" Kasiya shouted, pumping her fist into the air. "Use your Hidden Power on it!"
Nodding, Flash let out a sharp bark. Five orbs of energy seemed to flow out of the ground and encircle him, moving faster and faster. They quickly changed to an icy blue, and all combined into one larger, icy ball of energy that Flash then launched towards Tierra. Bet he didn't see this one coming, Kasiya thought, imitating the taunting gesture that Keegan had given her a moment ago.

Hidden Power!? Keegan thought fearfully. No, damn it! There wasn't anything he could do as the icy sphere slammed into Tierra, whose mediocre attempt to dodge went practically unnoticed. Suffering from a not-so stellar defense against special attacks, Tierra went down without so much as a sound. Her heavy body fell limp and unconscious onto the torn up pavement. "Damn it!" he shouted out loud this time, kicking a stray piece of concrete with his foot. He ignored the throbbing pains he now felt as he returned Tierra to her Great Ball. "Good try girl, but it wasn't enough. Let's fight fire with fire! It's your turn, Themis! Go!" Keegan then let loose his ever-faithful Manectric, who stood proudly before his master. The lean and limber Pokemon eyed Flash for a moment, sending static of his own rippling through the air surrounding him. "We're not letting up yet! Go Themis! Use your Thunderbolt! Show them what a real electric type can do!"
Themis let out a loud howl, and the static that had been to surround him vanished, and was replaced by a large burst of electricity. Themis took aim and let it fly at the Jolteon, still howling as the attack was launched. Keegan clenched a fist as he watched the attack. He knew electric Pokemon were resistant to electric attacks, but it was the chance of paralysis that Thunderbolt had that he was hoping to take effect instead.

Crenu was taken aback by the sudden boom in Ky's voice, his confidence that he spoke with was exactly what he was looking for. Crenu laid out the bait and Ky bite the hook without hesitation. Perhaps Crenu had found what he was looking for. "Let's see what you're totodile can do! Poliwag, Ice Beam, make a wall!" Poliwag jumped backward as the Totodile jumped in for the attack, the distance covered couldn't have been more than a foot as he released the beam of cold energy on the floor between himself and totodile. Ice inched out around the immediate area, but nothing significant like the wall that materialized as the beam moved upwards, a little wall of what couldn't have been more than four feet tall and maybe one or two feet across now separating the two pokemon.

The four sat around the little grassy area for a while, soaking in some rays peacefully (or as peaceful as Tora would let it be) before heading back to the Daycare center. At the front door, she could distinctly hear voices yelling. . . Crenu's and Ky's, to be exact. Something about friendship on the line? What in the world was going on? Were they fighting again? Jeez, she didn't want to come back into this. . . She didn't want another argument. But wait, no, there was the sound of a Pokemon's name. A Pokemon battle! Power walking past the door and into the backyard, she found that her senses were quite right and a Poliwag and Rex were facing one another. In the background, setting herself quietly on the steps of the back porch, she decided to simply watch the events unfold -- for the atmosphere between the two was crazily intense and impenetrable. It was likely they wouldn't even notice Mary-Anne and her Pokemon were there, oggling the battle.

Kasiya hadn't expected Keegan to counter with Themis; she had been nearly certain that he'd call out Loki next. Nonetheless, she stood her ground as the Manectric launched a powerful Thunderbolt at Flash and grinned. "That's a pretty tough Thunderbolt, too bad you just healed Flash," she smirked, putting her hands on her hips. "Guess you didn't know that a Jolteon has Volt Absorb for their ability! Hah!"
Sure enough, the electricity surrounded Flash, but instead of hurting him, he seemed to be absorbing them in, much like a sponge sucking up water. He instantly felt re-energized, and a lot of the damage he'd suffered from Tierra's Rock Blast had been healed. He let out a sharp bark, shouting a mocking 'Thanks!' to the other Electric-type opposite him.
"Okay Flash, now that you're recharged, fight back with your Pin Missile! Go!" The Jolteon jumped up onto a large piece of concrete that was protruding from the ground, letting the hairs on his body stiffen and tense up. He growled, firing a volley of sharp needles at the Manectric. "Great work!"

It was early in the morning when Robin woke up to the sound of her phone buzzing and beeping loudly. With a groan she rolled over, knocking Luffy to the floor and reaching for her bag she quickly pulled the device out. Staring at it through bleary eyes she read it a few times before it registered that she was supposed to wake up. Rolling off of the couch, this was a much earlier time then she was used to waking up, she had never been awake at 7 am before. Muttering to herself she grabbed a random set of clothes from her bag and headed to the restroom to change leaving Luffy asleep on the floor.
In new clothing but not awake Robin dumped all of it into her bag and grabbing Luffy she headed to the cafeteria. Once there she dumped her stuff on a table and got in line. The next part was a blur but the next thing Robin knew she was at her table with three trays, two for Luffy and one for her. Sitting down she began eating her pancakes waking up some with every bite. Luffy who had woke up at the smell of food was gobbling it down at a speed that would make a Snorlax sick.
Both of them now reasonably awake, Robin still wasn't quite sure what everything around her was exactly. They just sat there at the table, Luffy munching away and Robin waking up. Idly Robin wondered where Kilik was, she hadn't seen him upon coming in, then again she wasn't really paying attention.

Kilik awoke slowly, his hair totally matted and gross looking compared to normal. Could it have been because of his night time romp? The elements attacking his somewhat damp hair at the time could've caused it to look so bad. Shaking his head and running his fingers through his hair, trying to style it without a mirror or a brush, Kilik glanced around lazy eyed and still half asleep. He stood up and let out a loud yawn. His shirt was completely wrinkled and one of his pant legs was rolled up past his knee.
"Mmph...pajamas..." he grumbled, shaking his leg so that the clothing would cover him totally. When he surveyed the room again, he noticed that Robin was no where in sight. Aipom was gone too. The boy mumbled to himself, dragging his feet along the ground as he moved to the cafeteria. Sure enough, there was Robin and Aipom, eating away. "The two of you can really pack it down, can't you?" he smirked, leaning against the door frame.
"I think once you two are done, we'll head out to Elm's," he stated, standing straight again and turning his back on them. "I'm going to change into my day clothes and then come back here and go when you're ready. Got it?" He headed off to his backpack, dropping his hands to his sides as he walked. Kilik snatched up his bag and dug through it, pulling out his khaki pants and his shirt. He headed into the bathroom once more and stared at himself in the mirror.
A few minutes later, after changing, he splashed his face mercilessly with cold water to wake himself up. Kilik was not a morning person, especially if he got a great night's sleep like last night. He yawned and fixed his hair, clumped his pajamas together, shoved them into his bag and headed back to the cafeteria, leaning against the frame again, looking at Robin with a raised eyebrow.

Keegan watched Flash absorb the Thunderbolt, and let out a rather rude swearword. No, he hadn't known about the Volt Absorb ability, but he wasn't about to let it get to him. Flash was definitely quick, quicker than Themis even, and the trainer watched as his Pokemon was unable to dodge the spray of needles that the Jolteon fired from his spiky body. Themis growled, putting a bit of distance between himself and his opponent. This would be tricky.
"Bite attack!" Keegan ordered sharply. "But watch out for those spikes!" If they couldn't overwhelm him with electricity, then they'd have to use physical force. Another angry growl escaped the Manectric's throat as he dashed forward, fangs bared. He eyed his opponent carefully as he closed in, preparing to attack a spot that wasn't protected by those pointed spikes.

"Oh no you don't!" Kasiya yelled, but then realized she wasn't sure how to counter the attack. Flash attempted to dodge, but Themis matched him stride for stride and sunk his teeth into the Jolteon's shoulder, just above the Pokemon's dangerously spiky mane. Kasiya bit her lower lip, swallowing hard. Themis would be tougher to defeat than she thought. For a moment, she considered switching but changed her mind.
"Quick Attack! While he's close!" she shouted. Let's see him avoid the spikes now, she thought, smirking. Reacting quickly to his trainer's order, Flash bolted forward, attempting to ram his uninjured shoulder into the much larger Electric-type. The bold Jolteon showed no signs of fear even though he was outweighed by more than double by the yellow and blue Manectric.

Themis let out a loud yelp as the Jolteon's spikes were thrust into his side, and he lost his balance as a result of the fast strike. Snarling viciously, Themis jumped to his feet, a low growl escaping his throat. Meanwhile, Keegan was having much the same trouble as Kasiya was, trying to fight the Jolteon without the use of Themis's most reliable attack. He didn't like using the same attack twice, but it had been effective.
"Again! Bite attack!" he commanded, raising a clenched fist into the air. His knuckles where white from squeezing Themis's Pokeball so tightly. He couldn't remember the last time he felt so riled up during a battle. He wanted very badly to defeat Kasiya, even though he knew it would only be because she didn't have her strongest with her, not to mention that he did have a point to prove.
Themis obeyed, running towards the Jolteon once more and attempting to sink is teeth into the same spot just above those deadly spikes.

Once again Flash attempted to avoid the oncoming attack, but it seemed that Themis was more experienced in battling than he was. The clever Manectric faked him out and struck again, this time hitting with more power than the last time - a critical strike. The Jolteon's pained cries echoed through the square, and once he'd managed to free himself from the Manectric's sharp fangs, he limped away, finding it hard to put any weight on the injured shoulder.
"Hang in there! Kasiya called, deciding then to avoid having Flash use any physical attacks for the time being. "Use your Hidden Power!"
Flash gave a small bark, and summoned the orange glowing orbs of energy to surround him. They changed into the icy sphere again, and he sent it at Themis, panting heavily after the attack had been launched.
