Neither Ray nor Drake touched the gold. "I wouldn't worry too much. We have already delt with a powerful vampire before, a very powerful one. I think we'll be able to handle this one as well." Drake nodded as Ray pulled out her spellbook, already looking up spells to find and get rid of said vampire. "If the two of us can't take him down then we'll just call in an army and another mage to help us. Either way, we'll find this guy and destroy him."

"Thanks," Sophia smiled as she returned the gold to her pocket. "Like I said, I don't know..."
Suddenly, Sophia was brought to her knees by a force so powerful that her head almost told her stomach to vomit.
'HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME? I LOVE YOU! HOW COULD YOU TRY TO KILL ME?'
I want nothing to do to you. You just decided to waltz into my life and didn't give a rat's a** about my thoughts or feelings. Leave me alone and let me live my life.
'I don't think that will happen sweetheart. And just let you know, I broadcasted the whole converstation to your new friends...'

Neither Drake nor Ray enjoyed people charging into their minds without permission but neither of them dropped like Sophia did. Ray muttered a small spell, a warding on each of their minds so that none of them could be hurt but would still be able to hear the vampire's voice. Meir hissed at Sophia though meaning it more for the vampire than her. "A love-sick vampire. Better than one trying to raise a hoard of undead and destroy the world, eh?" She nudged her compainion lightly and he nodded.

'Take over the world?' The vampire laughed, 'now give me the name of that idiot who thought that was a good idea.'
'Get out of my head!'
'No. I refuse to physically hurt you, but I will broadcast my intentions to the parties in question if I have to.'
'So you're enjoying this?'
'Seeing you get hurt? No. However, since you wish to have me killed, I might as well find out what I am up against...'

Drake smirked and Ray laughed. Meir waddled back to his mistress and sat infront of her, his long tail swaying as if wishing to strike out at someone.

'Perhaps they will, or perhaps they won't. What that vampire failed to realize is that if you kill off humans, you kill off your food supply. You kill of your food supply, everything goes extinct. Again, he was probably nothing more than a short-sighted punk. As for spells, just because I began in the mind of a 13th century French Trubador, doesn't mean I'm as suspicious as you think. Besides, you know just as well as I do that magic has three ways to work: belief, sight, and sound. If belief is not there, how is to be effective?'
'You were once a muse?'

Ray snorted and Drake laughed this time. The vampire seemed arrogant and over-confident.

'That may be so. However, you fail to realize that vampires in your realm, are different from vampires in this world. We are not bound by the same laws as vampires are in another world. Besides, how would you find me? I do not live in a castle on a high mountain top, nor do I sleep in a coffin full of earth. Vampires in this realm do not follow the same rules the vampires in your realm. Just remember that when you try to go hunting me. I might be a homeless man, or I might be just a normal-looking person blending in. Remember that when you hunt me...'

((I'd like to note that if you're going to change up how a vampire lives and dies then I wouldn't want to continue the RP. I dislike when people change things around to fit into what then want. ._.))
Both seemed calm in their words, already edgy for the fight to start and finish. They knew it wouldn't be easy but they had a fair enough chance.

((I base my vampires on the books by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. They're not the typical Dracula books, and they do blend in with human society, but what I'm doing is not based on thin air. Also, I took the magic theory from the TV Show Gargoyles, if that helps.))
'I have no problem showing myself. If you wish to hunt me, fine, by all means go ahead. I'll even give you running start; go to the cemetary and look upon a cross-shaped gravestone with the name Julien D'Arcy. The rest is up to you.'
With that, Julien severed the conncetion and Sophia stood up, shaking her head.

((Alright. I never read those books but my boyfriend knows a ******** about vampires thus I've got a bit of knowledge about them myself. If you vampires aren't able to be killed by sunlight, paralized by stakes, hurt by holy objects, etc. then this may be a problem. sweatdrop Also, Ray and Drake are D&D characters and I play them as such. Magic can work if done correctly.))
Ray and Drake remained seated when the connection was cut off, Meir still looking aggitated with the now-gone voice. "Are you alright Sophia?" Drake folded his arms, his gauntlets rubbing against the rest of his armor. "This guy sounds like an arrogent fool. I'm not saying we can beat him with no effort but he makes it sound as if we had no chance."

((Well, if you want to get down to what hurts a vampire, vampires don't like to go out in the sunlight, it doesn't kill them. As for a stake through the heart, really, anything wooden can cut their skin. So basicly, you can kill a vampire by a stake or wooden knife through the heart, a knife or other wooden object through the stomach will kill them as well, all mortal injuries humans would have that would kill them also can kill vampires, and they can be brought down with a bullet to the brain. As for holy objects, a make-shift cross won't do anything, but a blessed one by a priest, minster, etc. can make them back away. That's just a difference people forget to keep in mind.))
"I'm okay," Sophia nodded as she stood up. "Why would Julien give himself away like that? He does sound a little too confident, but I don't think he's all talk. Would you like me to come to the cemetary with you?"

((Except sunlight can kill vampires and a stake to the heart only paralizes them. Stronger vampires, the very old ones, -may- be able to go out during the day is it's very cloudy and if they are covered up. I'm not going by what's written in novels or what's shown on TV/in movies but what's written on the subject of vampires themselves and the rules of D&D. And I know about the holy objects. I dislike going by the popular view of a vampire but rather by the facts.))
"Because he thinks we're weaker than he is and wants to set us up, probably." Ray shifted then stretched. "Wouldn't be the first time...but we've gotten ourselves out of bigger messes." Drake nodded and Ray pulled out her spellbook again, memorizing the spells she thinks would probably work against him. "If you come, he make take advantage of the situation and take you away. But, if you think you can hold out against him, be my guest."

((Okay, I just go by the literature. My college libary has a huge book about vampires, and maybe I'll give you a copy one day.))
Sophia nodded. "That's what I'm worried about, you playing into his hands. I have no problem giving myself up to him if it gets too critical. Just be careful, that's all..."
((Can we do the actual hunt on halloween? I'll be off from work, and I will have more time to be on Gaia? Also, I need to get off now, talk to you later.))

((I've got my boyfriend as a walking vampire book...and he's got his own giant vampire book I could look at if need-be.))
"We'll be careful. Both Ray and I have been in a number or fights and battles. We know better than to charge in without preparing." Ray nodded, still looking at her book. "And if we know who we're up against, all the better. 'Tis how we defeated Kas and his massive army of undead and demons."
((Alright. I'll try to be on then but I've also got plans with friends and class on Monday so I dunno exactly when I'll be around.))
