"I hope so...Faster the better, I'm sure...." Riley said as he crawled over to give Angel one last kiss before being out of commission for at least nine hours, a fierce tingling sensation already starting to overtake his body as he lay back down, remaining still as he waited for his whole body to scream in pain.

"Thanks, but I don't want you starving on me. Otherwise it make this all incredibly pointless, and in at most fifteen hours, I'd be a very grumpy and freshly changed vampire." Riley joked, his whole body feeling that tingling sensation when your foot falls asleep. "Besides, Jez would be sad as well."

"I love you too." Riley said with a small smile before meeting Angel's lips part way. He made the most of his three hours of tingling as best he could before the pain began, causing him to scream out suddenly. Pain couldn't come close to describing the sensation that ran all through his body.

Angel, true to her word, stuck by Riley's side, whispering things like "I'm still here, I'll always be here" and "I love you" constantly. She never moved over the entire Change, although her brother did bring her a feeder so she could drink a little.

"...Any idea....how much longer...?" Riley panted, managing to get a few words out despite how much he'd rather die than go through this for much longer. Which was rather ironic considering he was doing all this to become a vampire.

"Have I gotten...any more attractive...since before my body started feeling like it's going through every known torture machine....and a few unknown ones...in existence...?" Riley managed, hoping to try and lighten the mood and take his mind off pain, not that talking felt much better.

"Some help....you are...." Riley said with a weak and pained smile before the pain finally subsided. "Thank god I only have to go through that once..." he panted. "That was NOT something....I want to go through....ever...ever...again...."

Jez made baby noises, and smiled adorably at her daddy. Angel kissed Riley slowly, smiling faintly. "I love you, Riley. Lots and lots. Now, we have to get you a feeder. Promise not to get jealous. Alek!" She shouted the last word. "Now, Riley, your senses have already adjusted. There's a nifty thing our senses do, where you hear close-up things as perfectly as something really far away. The maximum clear hearing distance is fifty yards, normal volume. Shouting wasn't necessary there, it just makes me giggle. Same thing with sight, automatically adjusting. If it happens too fast, it hurts a little." She paused. "Damn, Alek, you're slow. My Riley needs his first feeding." She said it as if her brother was in the room, sighing.

Riley slowly sat up, blinking and squeezing his eyes shut up a bit as he adjusted to the heightened senses he now had, all the while unsure which part of his body he should be rubbing at the moment after the giant pain fest he just went through. Just the sound of feeding, even for the first time, made his mouth water a little for the satisfaction for a new kind of hunger he'd never felt before.

Alek came in, carrying a young woman. "Sorry. Val got a little... attached to this one, wanted to have her fun before she was too weak for sex. Be gentle, Riley, bite her wrist. You can practice neck biting on Angel later, but for now, just bite the wrist." He gently set the girl down and whispered, "You're going to get bitten again, would you like that?" At her enthusiastic nod, he lifted one of her arms, offering it to Riley.
