I know this is off the topic of everything that has been said here before, but...
I'm going to have to say that what Gensou summoned is but one aspect of the spirit of Darkness. It is the aspect of Darkness he believes rules, the aspect he worships, what he believes Darkness is, etc.
If Tiel were to do such a thing, some entirely different manifestation of Darkness would appear.

Awoah;
Basically from what we're all building off of, all spirits when you mash them together and look at the big picture: that's the Elemental. The largest piece of the elemental - the part of it that's roaming in the Elemental Plane - is something that no one can summon. Not without the aid of the elemental items and being in a certain place at a certain time with some blood, and being a mage of the avatar/high priest level.
He couldn't have summoned the Dark elemental: just one of the lower spirits. Pretty high up there on the spirit level, but not THAT high up there.

Sey gonk Be a Light Mage! gonk ::laughs:: That was originally my first choice cuz 3nodding ...well it always is. gonk I'm always a light spirit mage. sweatdrop Even in Characters that have dual abilities I'm mostly a light spirit mage type whee ....Problem they would end up a *lot* like Sey personality wise. xd *points to Sey's set in stone personality traits from when we were supposed to NPC her* She slighted editted to make revealant Sey will be as naieve as possible She will be cute :3 (EDIT: Clings to her loved one...period 3nodding /EDIT) Anyone who needs any help within a half a mile of her and she can see/hear/feel something happening she WILL go help them. If she's trying to help someone and you get in her way she will get mad/(EDIT Kick your a** /EDIT)/ whine like crazy/cry That's my light mages as well *coughTellus isn't quite a light mage but she might as well be cough* heart sweatdrop *prods TMJ* He has had experience with all aspects of that.

I for one generally dislike playing light spirit mages...though... Dammit, why do you people always have to give me ideas? xp I just can't help think it would be interesting...to say the least...to play a totally apathetic light mage. And a selfish one. "Okay...I'll heal you...but what's in it for me?"
