Alasdair

PostPosted: Mon Jul 07, 2008 6:04 pm

Alasdair had reached Hideyo’s side in a matter of moments. His violet eyes were looking down on the city, on a parked red Porsche that had three needles stuck into it. It was a real shame that such a fine car would have to get ruined because of a drugged up girl. But that was part of the beauty of life, the unpredictability. Like the chances that a single hunter would manage to make its way all the way to the rooftop and come unto a gathering of powerful vampires.

Alasdair did not know that a hunter had made his way towards them. But he had noticed some very faint noises of metal, it sounded like a fire escape. Since his listening was so great, it might be someone sneaking out of their house through a fire escape. But just to make sure he moved his hand closer to his sword hilt, so it would take him less than a second to draw his blade.

And it seemed that it was more than some far away person sneaking on a fire escape. Alasdair figured it was a hunter when he heard the sound of the wind breaking and three pops. Alasdair turned in a flash and saw three bullets headed towards him. He could face out using the void, but he took get pride in his physical abilities.

Alasdair saw the bullets headed towards him, at the brink of impact. He quickly turned his torso to the right, making one of the bullets miss him completely. Then he turned to the other side, if you would have blinked the show would have been over. But he did not dodge the bullet completely. The bullet grazed his side, but since his trench coat was bulletproof the bullet did not pierce it. So he just had some drops of UV liquid.

The third bullet was too close for him to lean all the way back. So he decided to take his sword in reverse grip and split the bullet in half. And so he did, in half a second his blade had already made short work of the bullet. But the down side was that the chest of his coat was covered in UV liquid.

((I'll post after everyone else in the vicinity does.

BTW Alasdair, sup it's been a while, and the bullet that Alasdair hit with his sword just transformed into a improvised shotgun volley.))

It wasn't all that difficult to hear the snap emitting from Luther's skeletal structure and despite the gruesome sound, she'd learned long ago to block out the pain of such images and simply absorb it as if nothing had happened. She slightly smirked when the contents of Luther ended up over the side of the building for a few more reasons than one, all of which weren't very nice of her but she hadn't really gotten anywhere being nice so she'd given up on the normal cultural thing where the Japanese were modest to show respect. She respected people, was still silent when others were speaking and concentrated when it was required of her but she was not modest, shy or passive aggressive. It just hadn't worked out for her. So that happened to be why Hideyo burst out in a fit of laughter. It was not loud and it was not obnoxious, it was ominous and rather disturbing if anything as she sat there laughing to herself and with herself.

Being a war monger most of her life or an assassin, Hideyo hadn't exactly worked on her manners when she'd been in the army. However, her family had taught her to be respectful and honourable in carrying on the family's name and so far she was quite satisfied with her progress. The concerns and opinions of some insignificant little European brat were hardly her concern and if she had an issue with her mannerisms. What Hideyo did was in honour of her own name and her family's name. She was their legacy and the product of a life time of suffering. The spoiled European vampire hardly seemed to fit such a bill but Hideyo wasn't one to make assumptions about things she knew nothing of but one thing clear about the petite European vampire was she was clearly beyond a spoiled brat and silly Luther had fallen for the deadly pest.

Further proving Hideyo's theory, surely enough when in her little spotlight she decided to scale the building and with much disgrace and came fairly close to not even landing the jump. Perhaps others would smirk at such a sight but Hideyo knew that the seemingly insignificant vampire was capable of extraordinary things if driven to do so. Hideyo knew this for she had been similar to the vampire in ways, weak and frail and having to use others to further herself. Apparently, though, this vampire had latched onto someone that could further her since Luther had apparently created some sort of drug. 'Hm,' Hideyo thought to herself, 'how curious that such a drug has actually been created.'

Simply fading into the background for the time being, Hideyo only observed Alasdair and Cosette as they chose to exchange verbal blows. The European brat was worse than Hideyo had suspected, the ego she boasted without much to back her up was frightfully large and it'd surely lead her into trouble. Furthermore, she was apparently distraught at the sight of blood over the place though it was unclear as to why. A vampire that feared the sight of blood? No, it likely wasn't that. Perhaps she was simply OCD and couldn't handle a mess here and there. She seemed rather easy to shatter from Hideyo's position, at least, mentally. The thought made her smirk to herself, the thought of the blonde vampire shattered and angered beyond reason, thrown off of her throne.

"English people," Hideyo stated with a nod, "sound rather prima and mideval if such a statement is true. Careful, I think too much of a mess might shatter your beloved's mental state there." A soft snicker escaped her and she further commented. "Such tensions have been brought between you due to the simple creation of a drug or does this date back farther than my current knowledge? This coven seems to be a battle field in itself with every member for him or herself. Why are such power struggles happening if the elders are supposedly in control of you all? Why do you scramble about like animals and fight for a more dominant position amongst yourselves? Hm, New York is indeed a strange place Mr. Crepsly."

Next she noted Alasdair walking toward her and as he did so she also registered the clanging of someone climbing up the side of a building. Soon enough she saw a figure emerge over the side of the rooftop and she merely observed as he fired off his shots toward Alasdair. And though she could have, she made no move to prevent the bullets from hitting Alasdair. She wished to see how such a scene would play out and whether Alasdair was still as sharp as he'd been over three hundred years ago when in Japan. She offered him no warning, either, a truly hardened mercenary that flew under no one's banner.

It came as no surprise to her when Alasdair's response was as fast as it'd been years ago. He was still sharp, apparently New York was keeping things lively for him, especially with the entire miniature war happening within the foundation of the coven itself. Quite amusing to behold as a new member of the New York coven, perhaps not so funny for one that'd known the order that the coven had provided prior to the arrival of these additions and before their elders had abandoned them. It would greatly honour her as well as pleasure her to seek council with the elders of this coven and question why they were allowing such chaos to take place within their own supposed alliance. But that was for later.

((Simi, You are one of the first people to point out that Cos has OCD. xD))

“Three doses. One wasn't enough. And then the second began wearing off too soon.” She spoke softly, throughly intending to be heard only by Luther. Cosette firmly but rather politely removed Luther's concerned hand from her slender shoulder. After counting the time of the first dose, Cosette knew very well just how long the drug would last. By her calculations, And she was almost positive because she was accustomed to counting quite a few things, She had about fifteen minutes left before the drug would begin thinning out of her system. The noise would return and Cosette might just find herself with the worst headache imaginable; But she wasn't going to think about that just now, She wanted to enjoy what little time she had left to feel all fancy and powerful.
“I hate New York. It's horrible here. You English are absolutely mad if you fancy this.” Cosette muttered, playfully pouting in disagreement with Luther. She had opened her mouth to say something more when that Asian vampire interrupted and added in an opinion that Cosette most certainly did not care for and then managed even insult her in the process. Cosette hadn't even said a single thing to that old women, And yet she took it upon herself to insult poor little Cosette without justifiable cause. While it certainly wouldn't take much to shatter Cosette's already fragile mind, It wasn't very nice to insist that a measly little mess might do the job. Despite the fact that she would probably either start hyperventilating at the sight of a dreadful mess or disregard her strenuous self restraint, jump off-kilter and join in.

While the Asian talked on, Cosette's focus drifted in Alasdair's direction. A curious little tilt of her blond head happened to be the only psychical hint that she picked upon just what was Alasdair's opinion was of her. Cosette was about to correct him, Once again set him straight. Insist that she wasn't in the least bit 'addicted' to the drug. That she knew very well that she was the weakest, most pitiful thing on the rooftop or despite how that may be the truth of the matter, she sought no need to act as such while her small body hummed with Luther's wonderful drug.
Of course, there wasn't such a moment for corrections because another person had decided to join the small rooftop gathering. It took Cosette a long moment to figure out quite what was happening; That a skilled hunter had manged to sneak his way up, gamble with the odds and irrupt the little scene and then showered Alasdair with enriched deadly bullets, all of which he managed to dodge in some brilliant way.
“Ew, Look. He's contaminated!” Cosette suddenly spoke aloud, bubbling with her girlish laugher as she flung an accusing finger in Alasdair's direction to point out the UV liquid oozing down the leather of his jacket. Sometime among the chaos of the gunshots Cosette unseen and swift, had managed to duck behind Luther just in case any of the bullets were dispersed in her direction. It was from behind him that she giggled maniacally, finding it so very amusing that Alasdair had been sought out as the target. That's karma for you, He was getting was he deserved.

Alasdair’s violet eyes looked around to the rest of the rooftop before him; he was scanning to determine precisely how many hunters there were out there. There was just one brave soul there. It was almost awe inspiring to see a single hunter face such crushing odds. Maybe Alasdair will give him a fair fight for his bravery; maybe he will force Luther to deal with him, hoping that the hunter was skilled enough to deal with the arrogant dog.

Then Alasdair’s eyes trail back to his state-of-the-art trench coat, the front was covered in UV liquid. Alasdair shook his head and sighed. It seemed that he was not as sharp as he once was. Then he chuckled and turned back to see Hideyo. “Not as sharp as ever” He commented back to her in a whisper. He chuckled again and turned back to the hunter’s direction. The vampire sheathed his sword, slowly and in high alert. But since He knew the hunter’s location, it would be next to impossible to surprise him.

“I applaud your courage hunter, to be so bold to intrude on a private party like this, especially alone. But it is over. Come out I will be fair with you.” Alasdair talked out loud, but still softly. It was not a threatening voice that called out to the hunter. The vampire smiled after he finished and buried his hands on his pant pockets.

Alasdair had heard the comments that Cosette and Hideyo had said, but he paid little attention to Cosette’s weak childishness and there was little he could do about Hideyo. Alasdair wanted to deal with the hunter quickly because he had to talk to Hideyo and find out if she truly is Arashi. It had been so many years; it could be someone else that just looks like her. But it did not matter, even if it was her. There is nothing there anymore.

Hideyo didn't bother to scan the remainder of the rooftop for she'd only heard a single set of feet scrambling up the fire escapes. She definitely needed to stop displaying her abilities in plain sight for mortals to accidentally witness so from now on, she'd remember to use the fire escapes that were there because of the law. She didn't like being showy and flashy, it wasn't her style to stick out like a sore thumb or to have everyone's attention on her. Attention hogs or whores were highly disliked by Hideyo and it happened to be part of the reason she was fairly unkind to Cosette. So unlike what the young vampire thought, she actually did have a reason for inching toward disliking her this early on in the game. That and she used things to enhance her power because she wasn't willing to train and discipline herself like others had before her.

When Cosette burst into her bubbling, girlish laughter, Hideyo paid her no heed and didn't bother to train her eyes in the direction that she pointed in. For being so picky about manners, she sure didn't have a lot of them herself. Everyone knew that it was rude to point but apparently she was above everyone else, yet another reason Hideyo found herself leaning toward disliking this younger vampire. It was clear that she had potential but just because someone had a lot of potential did not mean that they would surpass someone that seemed hopeless compared to them. Both would have to work hard and if they did then the results would still vary for they always did. People grew at different rates and absorbed information at different rates.

"Apparently," Hideyo responded to Alasdair's whispered remark with her melodic, harmonious voice at a normal and audible level, "not. I do admire the hunter's boldness, though, it definitely took a real warrior to come and stand up to four vampires. I wouldn't say the lot of us seems all that terrifying but he might find he made a grave mistake in venturing onto our temporary plane. Perhaps we should remind him why he's hunting us and drain him of all his bodily fluid. I don't think that'd be the greatest reward for such bravery, though but unfortunately he made the mistake of attacking so he brought it upon himself." Hideyo, for the moment, continued to sit at the edge of the building though she would get up if she felt a particular urge to suck the hunter dry.

In possession of Jack's body, JR walked along the streets of New York, a smirk plastered on his face. He was bored and looked for some excitement. Granted, Jack was easy to please, but given how JR was the dominant personality at the time, he had rarely had a chance to do something that could be considered more than extreme. The problem was he had nothing to do. If someone showed up, he'd hoped that person would give a reason to actually do something.

"I actually wonder where Rayne is."

lolindentStan used the time that Alasdair used to block the attack and speak with the other vampires wisely. The Psychologist wasn't a fighter, never had been, and probably never will be. He was brave but a stout heart wasn't everything. The Psychologist Hunter took in all the information available to him of the Vampires present by staring each and everyone of them in the eye; whilst listening in to their conversation which surprisingly wasn't hushed by a Hunter's arrival. They obviously didn't like each other. But I'm sure they don't like you either, Stan. He thought to himself as he lifted one of his jean's legs and retrieved his strapped M79. Someone had told him that a grenade launcher could come handy, and personally Stan agreed with the crack addict that supplied him with illegal weaponry for once in his life.
lolindentHe took a step back when Alasdair proposed a duel. He was taken a back. Hell to the no. Not happening! "You've no idea," Stan said with a slight nervous chuckle, taking another step back nearing the edge of the building. "Brave, Brave Sir Robin." He pointed the M79 at the ground a few feet away, keeping the Glock at the ready. Stan jabbed his pistol hand against his chest twice in a pseudo-masculine way as he said, "That's me, bro." The "brave" hunter shot the M79 at the rooftop and it exploded into a three second long blast of UV rays. It covered most of the rooftop and seemed like an over sized black light was shining. If a vampire was in the vicinity and they became acquainted with the UV.... Well, let's just say that a third degree burn is just an understatement.
lolindentStan backed away and prepared for a fight. The mad, the self-absorbed, the cool and collected, the brat, and the UV-toting guy who thinks he's apart of the family. Some people, honestly, should have their own sitcom.

Amelia caught the scent of blood. She looked into the alley below her and saw a girl who'd just been murdered. She was still barely alive but she wouldn't be for long, blood pumped weakly from the gash in her neck. Amelia gripped the edges of the roof and slid into a sitting position.
"No!" She growled to herself. "I'll stay here till I pass out if I have to!" She had stopped breathing. She didn't have to breathe for ten minutes at a time but that only kept the blood filled air inside of her lungs. She ran off the roof and crashed through someone's window as she miscalculated her jump in her frenzy. She took a few breathes of the clean air and took an apple from their fridge. Luckily the clubber who lived there was currently puking his guts out in a bathroom in a night club a few blocks away. Amelia left through the window and climbed up to the roof. She bit into the apple. She'd never really liked the things but it gave her some strength at least.

Prometheus climbed down the ladder and took in a big sniff of air, and noticed two familiar smells nearby. He walked across the busy street into a nearby alley. "Yet another victim..... the mortals should ge suspicious." He said, turning his attention to the other smell. "....... Amelia!" Prometheus turned into his Lycan form and tracked the smell to a building. He leaped up from balcony to balcony, and went inside the house to find her. "You know, trespassing is illegal."

"It's not tresspassing, it's breaking and entering." She opened the broken window and hopped onto the fire escape. "And laws don't apply to tainted." She bit the apple again.

"I'm just saying." Prometheus said, shrugging his shoulders. He walked out onto the fire escape, following Amelia. "So, what's new with you?"
PostPosted: Tue Jul 08, 2008 1:51 pm

"Blood Lust." She said as she started climbing up the side of the wall, using the mortar filled gaps between the bricks to grip it. "It's getting closer to one of the two nights a year when my craving for blood forces me to bury myself rather then go on a killing rampage that would be the top of the news for the next couple of months." As she said this she was already planning the spot in the Graveyard farthes away from human interaction and how many kilometers she'd have to bury herself under.

Sam moves over to a nearby alley and leans his head against the cool concrete of the building. He turns around and slides down until he's sitting and then looks up at the sky that's just barely visible. "Can't even see the stars here." he murmurs to himself. He closes his eyes as a memory of his human life sweeps over him.
