[Terra : Hawaii : Lugae's Lab]

Terra walked into the hall, after she arrived and got treatment for her injuries and the slave crown was repaired. It had taken her several hours to recover from her berserk state, but after she did, she came back to the lab as the crown on her head programmed her to.

She wandered into the main lab where several people had gathered. Terra came in beside Nick, but remained so where he was between her and the station which Zexion was working at. Which she watched silently.

(( in regards to Michelle, thank you for understanding and making an exception this time for this poor fool who thought it was smart to take on 10 people. I promise to do my best to not let any moves in the future slip under the radar.*bows low back*))

[Nameless: Black Pearl]

It was caught, and stunned, with its bladed arm sticking into Kyle's abdomen, blood flowed down the blackened edge and stained the deck floor. Violet filled with fury, met and equally enraged singular red. When he roared at it, the effects worked and it was stiffened in place with its blade stuck inside his body.

It was creepy how it kept eye contact the entire time, even as he raged and reached up with his weakened hand, clasping around its neck for a brief instant when suddenly Jacob leaped onto it. Jacobs hands replaced Kyle’s and using his daggers he sliced across its neck and chest.
The blade sung off its metal plated chest, and the blade sunk into its solid shadowy neck, yet no life blood was drawn. It glared up at him seemingly uncaring, as if to say ‘was that supposed to hurt?’ Though the poison took effect, it seemed to take to just fine for now.

The salvo blades however pinned nothing for there was nothing to be pinned. Even if it’s solid form had fixated into a pair of legs beneath the obscuring veils of moving shadows, it could have easily dissolved that pair and remade them again, even into 2 pairs if it needed the extra mobility. Hence why the blade stuck solid wood beneath its form instead.

It’s mocking gaze was broken as enraged Joe now took his turn wailing on it! Shoved to the ground in it’s still stunned form, the blade yanking free of Kyle’s body as it went down, the heartless creature looked up at Joe seemingly unfazed, it’s eye narrowed and seething as he pounded his fist into its face over and over. The sound was sickening, the steady thud of the punches one after the other.

It remained there motionless taking the hits without a car till Joe’s fist came back blooded from the sharpened edges of the metal mask.
It finally hissed and as the stun began to fade the body began shifting again. Like black liquid it moved steady rising up from the deck, even as Joe continued to punch its body no longer shuddered or showed the impact of his hits. Still he punched.

It began moving forward towards him, meeting every punch, and soon it’s bladed hand swatting his fists until it caught on instead and a split second later the unmistakable sound of metal sliding into a solid object was heard. They’ve heard it twice now, it should be recognizable. The Nameless’s bladed arm stuck into Joe’s abdomen on the opposite side it had stabbed Kyle moments before.

Adding insult to injury it yanked his arms drawing him closer and further onto the blades end, and shrieked in his face.

Little did it know what flood gates it had opened within the boe user with that attack.

[Michelle : Black Pearl : Deck]

The summon was loudly chiding Michelle in her head, trying to be heard over the girls mental rants about pain. She had to replay in her mind the last few moments a few times, before she understood why she was sprawled on the deck in a tangle with Auron.

"YOU FORGOT BALANCE! YOU WERE SO FOCUSED ON VENGEANCE AND ATTACK THAT YOU DIVERTED THE ENERGY FROM YOUR DEFENSIVE LAYER INTO THE CHARGING OF YOUR BLADES!"

She cringed, physically because of the white hot pain that radiated in her right arm, and mentally because her summon was right. She had lost her cool and thrown not only fresh magical energy at her swords but also the current that had been feeding her Shock Spikes. If she had only keep a level head then the creature, which was rapidly reeking havoc on the ship one person at a time, might have been stunned when it grasped her arm in it's sharp talons and hurled her at the six foot samurai.

She tried to lever herself free from the entangling fabric of his haori, but her injured arm refused to accept any strain. Letting out another short cry of pain she collapsed on top of him again with a 'wooomph'.

"As soon as this madness is over with you and I are going to have a refresher course on battle logic and tactics youngster."

The truth was that he had been extremely worried about his charge and he was only being sharp to try and help her stay focused and alive. The summon was relieved that the wound seemed to be clean, and while bleeding freely from the four punctures at least he didn't sense any taint of darkness to complicate future healing.

"Now find your way off him will you. You need to get the holes bandaged to stop the blood loss until someone with healing can see to it. There's still an enemy on the lose you know."

She tried to obey without argument, biting her lip to keep from whimpering, she hated pain and the temporary light was going out again.

Sayrike::The Black Pearl: biggrin eck

The young woman sighed with minor frustration. They keep charging in without thinking, fueled by their anger! Sayrike's ire stemmed from having to see and hear the pain and anguish as the others got hurt with her there, unable to help them. Her fists clenched. She hadn't heard a single response from the others over the Trinity Charms. Were they not used to working together? Well, she'd give it at least one more opportunity for everyone. She hoped they'd take it, otherwise she was going to end up like Kyle and Joe--her position exposed and vulnerable for attack.

Sitting there on the ratlines, Sayrike closed her eyes for a second and breathed deeply, setting aside these emotions, and began to focus her energy. At first, it was hard to switch mental gears, but once she started it got easier. She thought of all the good things in her life---the feel of the breeze in her hair, the happy relief after finals were over, escaping into a good book, playing on the swings---and channeled that into her mirrors. She wouldn't normally have done this, but she wanted a bit of an extra boost to what she was about to do. What better way to create light than from the happiness in her heart?

Feeling ready, she held in this energy and proceeded to her next move. Releasing herself from the invisibility of her mirrors, Sayrike quickly jumped down onto the deck and began running. However, it wasn't just one person who took off from the spot, but three, one mirror following each copy and then seemingly multiplying so that all three versions of Sayrike had three mirrors. The glows Kyle and Joe had given off as they had moved around the deck gave Sayrike a good idea of where everything was, combined with her observations of people's voices with her ears (like, Noelle's position, if she hadn't moved) and the last view she had of the deck from the crow's nest before the darkness had covered it. <> Sayrike shouted over the charms. <> She and her copies ran around the edges of the visible skirmish that was taking place, each one of her taking a different spot opposite from one another. Since they were on the edges of the visible space that was quickly fading, Sayrike couldn't see her copies, but she knew where they were.

Silently, Sayrike sent a prayer that this would help as much as it did on Card Captor Sakura with the Shadow card. She also hoped that the ones who didn't have Trinity Charms were well-seasoned enough to take advantage of the sudden situation, or those Earthlings by them might say something (like Michelle, who she saw was near to Auron). <> And with that, she released all the stored energy from her mirrors. She wasn't sure if the light would be infused with all of her happy memories, but she kind of hoped it was. Something like this nameless thing attacking them...who knew if it had a soul or memories of its own, but at least she could share her Light with it, and with those who saw the brightness.

All three of Sayrike's mirrors suddenly lit up, revealing her and her two copies standing in a triangle formation around the battle area. (Mirror's Gleam) The light wouldn't have reached the entire deck, but those caught in the middle over by the Nameless would have been clearly visible. With the extra boost of energy she added, she was able to sustain the light for a few seconds longer than just a flash. With any luck, the Nameless would have been Blinded. As soon as the light faded and the darkness returned, Sayrike and her copies ran, shifting their places but not retreating.

[Joe: Black Pearl: Deck]

The male didn't care that his hands were bleeding from beating the mask. That didn't matter to him. Even as the creature stood he was pumping his fists into it's face. Damn it he was going to take care of this!

SHINK!

Joe's fists stopped, and he gurgled slightly. What...what happened? In the light of Kyle and apparently Sayrike, upon looking down, he saw the blade in him, and cried out in pain as he was pulled further onto it. Without the buffs...he didn't stand a chance, did he? But he was still angry, still oh so angry, and he narrowed his eyes at the Nameless.

"You just f***ed up."

Grabbing the Nameless, he pushed, pulled, what have you, and jumped away, off the blade. If not for the haste already on him, they would've seen him speed up from the rush of adrenaline(Critical-Haste). But, as soon as his feet touched the deck, he was gone, disappeared in a blur, and the Nameless was knocked into the air, with Joe appearing on the other side of where the Nameless once stood.

"Feel the Lash of Katrina, B****." After he whispered that one line, he snapped his fingers, and the air around the creature seemed to shimmer, before wind blade upon wind blade shot out at the creature from all directions. It was a sphere of wind blades, with the Nameless caught in the center of it all.

Of course, the male collapsed to his knees when the attack finish, hand gripping his abdomen, magic pumping into himself to try to seal the wound and stop the pain. The big question, though, was 'did he get it?'

((Yes, he did do his level 3 limit. Yes, one strike put him in critical. I really need to bump up his phys def, evasion, and hp XD))

{Auron : Black Pearl : Deck}

Auron had not anticipated the Nameless' counter, to phase into the shadows, his gaze glanced around the deck as he tried to find where the creature disappeared to the next thing he knew, the Nameless had apparently returned though and grabbed Michelle, tossing her into him. He dropped his blade so she wouldn't be run through by it and brought up his arms to try and catch. However, the best he could do was lessen her impact as her weight and momentum proved too much for the samurai and they both fell to the deck.

If Auron felt pain from the impact, he wouldn't show it, not even emit a grunt as he moved Michelle off of him as gently as he could. He then rose to his feet and picked back up his katana before turning his attention back to her.

"Are you alright?" he asked, looking down at her. If she didn't respond, or said no, then he wouldn't leave her, knowing that she would need to be protected in case the Nameless tried to attack her again.

[ Kyle : Caribbean : Black Pearl ~ Deck ]

Kyle watched it all unfold in front of him; Jacob's attack attempts had seemed almost useless, and as Joe's enchantments began to wear off, even his strongest blows seemed to do little. The fact was, the beast was in another league entirely when it came to physical attributes. Even with Joe's strength enhanced beyond his own comprehension, the Nameless did nothing but shrug it off.

He grimaced, his eyes still trying to keep contact on the Nameless. It had managed to cut into Joe's side as well, meaning he was inevitably hit with the same sapping effect. But then Joe pulled out what Kyle could only describe, much to his chagrin, as a 'Limit Break'.

Sayrike had been trying to communicate; as the Darkness flowing through him countered any sort of rage he was festering, he was finally able to think clearly, but not yet respond. As a result, he deduced, his physical strength was likely no longer augmented, nor was his magic lowered. He stepped backward, trying to get away from the fight- his Light was still dimming, and the Nameless was just on the brink.

It's too fast and agile to bother trying to strike, but we can't lose sight of it.

Using Sayrike's light to his momentary advantage, he threw his arm out toward the Nameless, in the middle of Joe's Limit, he cast something on the Nameless. But what he cast wasn't an offensive spell or an ailment- he hit the creature with an enchantment, something that could give it more strength if used properly.

{ Cast: Virgo's Vibrance ; Target: Nameless ; Effect: Aura of Light for 3 turns, making all bodily attacks Light-elemental }

But this was a beast of the Darkness. Suddenly becoming Light elemental would do it no good, though it would do no harm as well. All it would do is make it glow; when the Darkness enveloped them again, it would stick out like a sore thumb, no matter where it tried to hide, no matter how fast it tried to move. Because everything else was black, its Light would be a beacon.

"Sorry about that. Sort of lost my cool," Kyle said over the charms as he continued backing up. He finally found himself leaning against the mast, holding his bleeding side. The Light around him had completely faded away, and his eyes reverted to their normal brown. He had no self-healing, but he'd be damned if he fell from a small (okay, not all that small...) gash.

[Noelle ~ Black Pearl ~ Deck]

Noelle growled at her uselessness. There was light here and there but not enough for her to feel safe intervening. She worried that she would hit someone, and friendly fire was not something they needed right now. Hardly being able to process what she was seeing, hearing, and sensing with her magic, the agromancer cursed and stood lamely on guard. Then her chance came. Suddenly the creature was illuminated, first by Sayrike's mirrors and then by Kyle's enchantments, and things became clearer. It seemed that the nameless was under one attack, Joe's, but that was coming to an end. Not wanting to give the nameless a single chance to recover, Noelle made her move. Her magic was practically at "full tank" so she was going to give it her all.

Being close enough to the cliff walls, Noelle pulled on the earth there. Discs flew from the walls rapidfire, almost machine-gun like, straight to the concentrated spot where the nameless was. Any disc that made contact would shatter, leaving shards of stone in the nameless' form. Her attack continued for a full ten to fifteen seconds before she let off, keeping two more discs close to her being and waiting for the dust to clear.

[The Nameless: Black Pearl >Air>Deck>???]

The sound of his gut wrenched scream was music to its ears. SO beautiful. The feel of his flesh pinned on its bladed arm… so warm and –
Suddenly there was more than one person, they stood around them in a 3 paneled formation and suddenly LIGHT! Bright light! It burned into its eyes, bathing its body. It shrieked and infuriated the Nameless slashed out at the closest panel it could find, trying to smash the one within. ((You decide which one))

It felt the torso on its blade move off, following the warm air of breath in its face hissing “You just F**ked up!*

Then it was suddenly air born and from all sides, a relentless assault of air blades cut and slashed into its body. The creature’s body twisted and contorted from the sheer force of the impact! Yet it wasn’t that which made it scream something like nails on a chalk board- it was Kyle’s magic which imbued its body with light! It shrieked and thrashed as if it was having an epileptic seizure!
Then it fell with a sickening crack onto the deck of the ship.

Just in time to be served by Noelle’s relentless barrage of stone disks from the cliff walls!
The disks shattered and fragments embedded itself into its body. It shrieked again and again, thrashing while the disks hit and the light made its surface burn!
And when the dust settled... it was gone.
Like waking from a nightmare, the blackened cloud lifted, all around them the darkness began to fade. Soon they could see each other- and the ship, and the distant sun on the horizon setting into the sea!
It seemed all was finally over.

--- Joe’s collaborated post----

Joe sighed as the darkness was lifted. Apparently they got it...but it had got them, too. The darkness he felt creeping inside him hurt, as did the wound it had left. Still, the male hunched over, hands on his front as he tried to heal it best he could. Get rid of the wound, and then try to get rid of the darkness, that was his best option as he hunched over to better get his hands on the wound.
!!!! SHIINK!!!! (((( WARNING MILD_GORE))))

Once again the unmistakable sound of flesh being pierced by metal was heard and blood splattered the ground again, dripping from Joe’s opposite shoulder! A long bladed blackened arm extended right out from Joe’s OWN shadow! The shadow shifted, and peeled off the surface of the deck and rose! It became solid in a mockery of Joes own shape and lightness like a creepy resemblance to Sora’s anti form!

As it stood on its own two feet Joe had no choice but to stand as the bladed forced his body to rise from the ground. When it reached out with its bladed hand and clasped it around the back of Joe’s head while a strange sensation ran between him and the creature. He’d feel something like a tug deep inside him, he’d feel all his spent anger, his rage …his darkness bubbling to the surface- stirred from the most secret corners of his soul and sapped away through the blades which fused their forms together.

A moment later, it yanked the blade out and tossed him at Noelle with that freakish strength it possessed. The semi-conscious body of the boe user was flung like a sack through the air without a care as it vanished again into the closest shadow casted by the masts under the setting sun.

It appeared only one more time.

A hand reaching out of yet another person’s shadow. A most delicious target… his body was so saturated in darkness It couldn’t resist! Not anymore, not when it needed it so badly!

Its bladed fingers latched into the ankle of Louise! They dug in deep and sucked away as much of the darkness it could take within a few seconds. It was as tasty as it thought it would be. It drank greedily, and released his foot before finally – finally vanishing into his shadow, even it’s presence disappeared from his vision- it had truly left.

Because even partially healed, it was still poisoned and needed to retreat into the deepest of abyss to purge the poison and regain its full strength. So for now, they were safe.

For now.

Above in the sky, Kai who had lifted the cloud, erasing it from her pages looked down at the damage with a most satisfied look on her face. She had seen all she needed to see… perhaps Ajora would like to know about this. So she too left.

[Noelle ~ Black Pearl ~ Deck]

Noelle blinked and furrowed her brow as the darkness lifted, leaving them back in the twilight of the sunset. She eased up a little when the dust settled and the monster was gone.

Did . . . did I get it?

It would seem that she had . . . but not good enough. Before the agromancer could hardly comprehend what was happening the nameless was back, standing behind Joe and dealing yet another serious wound to her comrade. The girl raised one of her last discs and pulled back to strike as it spun abover her hand. Just as she was about to lunge forward and release, the nameless moved again, releasing Joe and throwing him right for her. The most she could do was watch with a look that said you gotta be kidding me.

"Shi--" Noelle's words were cut off as Joe collided with her, sending the two of them flying across the deck. The blonde felt as if she had blacked out momentarily when she next opened her eyes. She looked up dizzily, trying to move but unable to because of the weight on top of her. She felt something warm spreading over her front.

Eh? Am I hurt?
'Human! Your friend!'

The agromancer's heart skipped a beat as she realized what was going on. She wasn't hurt, Joe was, and he was bleeding all over her. She gave a startled shout, wiggling her way out from underneath him. It was a chore, but she finally got him off of her, smearing the pool of blood he was making all over the deck.

That's a lot of blood . . . that's a LOT of BLOOD. He's-he's--
'Human, he's going to DIE!"'

Feeling sick, Noelle looked over to the pile of dirt and stone left on the deck from her barrage on the nameless. The whole thing slid over to her with a flick of her wrist and she reached into her seed pouch, jamming a seed into the dirt pile. As the Golden Pitcher plant grew she wrestled Joe over onto his front, hastily grabbing a mature pitcher and pouring it over Joe's bleeding shoulder and side. She could feel hot tears springing to her eyes as she emptied the first pitcher and went for a second to be sure the wounds had healed enough for him to stop bleeding.

"Joe? Joe?!" She whispered frantically, leaning over him and pressing two blood-covered fingers to his neck. In her panic she was having a hard time accurately finding a pulse, so she quit trying to locate it and bent over his face, listening for his breath. It was there--shallow and quiet, but there. Feeling like the tears in her eyes would take over, the agromancer sat back with a heavy, stress-filled sigh. Things were getting to just be too much.

[Joe: Black Pearl: Deck]

Lots of pain and darkness, that's all Joe felt till something warm seemed to fill his wounds, his eye barely managing to open and spot Noelle near him, crying. But...

"Why?" he croaked out, hand reaching up to touch her face and noting the blood on her and himself, the events slowly coming back. Well...s***, he got stabbed a second time. And apparently tossed. At least Noelle's healing attempts brought him back to the world. But...damn, he hurt. Didn't help that some of his anger had been...drained, or something, leaving him somewhat cold. And he could feel the darkness creeping around inside himself, but...he was in no state to try and take care of it.

Lowering his hand, he groaned, a weak, quiet sound. "Damn...no chance."

Jacob ll Below deck

No no no....it should have ended. They need more.

It's not your fault it-
NO. LAY DOWN. I'LL HANDLE THIS.

And like that, it was gone. All the darkness was purged and the sky had become normal. Jacob slumped over slightly. He looked to Kyle, to Joe, to Louis, to Michelle, and to Noelle. Why not him? Why not him? Why not him? He was there. Was he so useless that he wasn't a threat to this monstrosity, or was he so weak that he couldn't protect them. Jacob couldn't discern which felt worse. He looked at them, bleeding...battered. They could all just die. He couldn't do anything. Jacob felt a sense of shame and a little guilt...cowardice. Everything welled up inside. His eyes glimmered for a moment. The soft sea breeze was blowing in his eyes, coaxing him to cry. He pulled his goggles back on, and walked just stared at Joe. Not another one. Lose one friend, get pissed. Lose a second...a vendetta. I don't know who or what that was...that woman in the sky...so help me...they've done monstrous things...they've created a monster. Jacob shed a few tears as he walked below the deck, completely silent. He couldn't help up top. He so desperately wanted to, but what was there? Out of all the useless facts, figures, pointers, primers and statistics, Jacob never learned emergency aid. Even after he had his foot and hand sliced open, deep gouges and lacerations...he didn't know s**t. Jacob planted his feet firmly in the wall, about a foot off the ground. and did pushups. He didn't stop. When arms were weak, he pressed on. Not again. I had it. Next time, I'll be like Joe. I'll crush its head with my bare hands. I'll be the best. I'll be able to protect my friends. I'll be the best.

Sayrike::The Black Pearl: biggrin eck

The thing in front of Sayrike didn't seem to like the light at all---and neither did someone else, judging by the harsh cry another person let loose at the moment of her flash of light, and she mentally apologized to whoever it was (most likely someone who didn't have a charm and wasn't warned). But she was too focused on the enemy in front of her to turn around and see who she had hurt. The thing blindly slashed out at her---or, rather, one of her clones, which she had placed closer to the enemy and matched her largest mirror with just in case something like this happened (she being unsure of whether the creature might attack the mirror that gave off the brightest light or not, but she didn't want to risk her own body to find out). With that one swipe, the clone shimmered out of existence, and the large mirror disappeared and reappeared in front of Sayrike. By that point, Kyle had embedded some light inside the thing, making it easier to target--but between Noelle and Joe, it almost seemed overkill to try and do anymore---plus, Joe was in her line of fire, so she couldn't get a clear shot. She didn't need to, it turned out, as the darkness lifted and the sunset emerged. It was glorious.

But the creature hadn't totally disappeared. Just when Sayrike begin to breathe again, it came from Joe's shadow, flinging him into Noelle! Chh! Sayrike mentally hissed. The other clone disappeared and Sayrike gathered together her three mirrors, preparing to attack. But then it vanished once more, leaving no target for her. Running over to Noelle and Joe, Sayrike asked the girl, "Hey, do you have anything I could give to Kyle over there?" But then she looked down at the bo wielder and saw how serious his wounds were. And he was just recovering from having his eye taken out earlier that day! This guy was not lucky. "Oh my gosh..." Sayrike breathed. "Is he conscious? Can I do anything to help?" She tried to think of something. Damn it, if only she had healing magic! Well, at least she could ask. "Noelle, do you have any spells for healing that I could see?" Maybe she could copy one. Or she might have to go ask someone else. At any rate, someone still needed to take something over to Kyle, who was hurt the worst right after Joe.

[ Kyle : Caribbean : Black Pearl ~ Deck ]

Kyle watched everything that went down with what could only be described as uselessness twisting his facial features. The Light had seemed to make the thing convulse, to be sure, but shortly afterward, the Darkness was lifted, making the effort mostly useless. It seemed defeated, melting away; Kyle's eyes remained on the glowing aura, but found that in the light of day, it made too little a difference.

Kyle felt his body try to pump more adrenaline as Joe was struck again, the Nameless appearing within his shadow just to send him flying. However, he was already too weakened; the Dark poison had long since sapped him of the ability to fight, and he was still bleeding. But he was conscious, and ignored the pain as he watched everything occur.

He couldn't move to Joe's side like Noelle and Sayrike; he couldn't even go check on Sora, who was still passed out on the deck a few meters away. But he could feel the Darkness within Joe (the seal, despite Kyle's weakness, still worked), and he was willing to bet it was draining the fighter as much as it was draining the himself, and Sora likely wouldn't wake until the poison was removed.

Did anyone with them have Esuna? He couldn't recall; his mind was too hazy, filled with negative emotions due to the poison's dark effects. But they had to be rid of it. Joe was near the same state as Sora; Kyle was still conscious and could still move, at the very least. They shouldn't have to bear that burden. They shouldn't have to suffer.

He thought back to his healing ability; he could heal others, at the cost of his own well-being. Could he not do the same with these poisons?

Magic is an art. You are limited only by your imagination.

Kyle held up his free hand (the one not trying to stop the bleeding) and opened the palm toward the sky, focusing on the bo-wielder and the Keyblader; an aura of light briefly enveloped the two of them before dissipating into small glowing orbs, flying back to Kyle. The Dark Taint that had flooded their veins was now gone, allowing for healing to occur.

{ Kyle unlocked Virgo's Victim }

Kyle grimaced as his hand dropped down to his side, holding it carefully. He remained leaning against the mast, refusing to fall, refusing to give in to the Darkness still flooding his veins. He felt it fester along the wound, and for the slightest of moments, thought he felt a small tendril sliding across his palm.

"I'm fine," he shouted, knowing Sayrike was worried. "Get the rest of them up and running. It's just a flesh wound."

Kyle couldn't help but chuckle, even despite the Darkness eating away at his nerves.
