((For the record, Luke's humming. Not whistling. >.<))
Luke's tune continues, a bit softer, but still sustained. One foot eases over the other ankle.
((Yeah, so just waiting for this night to end. >.<))

((Lol, no worries Iesumi))
Jao relaxed visibly under Emmia's kind smile. Her answer made much more sense than the assumption he'd made earlier. But now, as it occured to him the implications he'd made towards her virtue, a deep shade of guilty purple bled through his eyes. Stupid to even think that way. Of course no elf in her right mind would want a dirty Shalondian in her home. "I-" Jao bit his lip, ducking his head to allow his long dark hair to cascade infront of his face, until he was hidden behind a veil of shiny black. "Yes. Thank you. I humbly accept your offer." There, finally. A safe, articulate reply.

Seeing him relax, Emmia let out the breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. She was satisfied that she might be able to help him after all. Now all she had to do was find Ichnel and... ask if he would be willing to do that. 'If only.' she thought in frustration. '... if only I could take care of all this myself! Why must I always be the one to burden others with my stupid need to save everyone?' Her eyes clouded over as she thought this, but then the blazing sky within her orange irises cleared as she smiled once more at Jao. "You're more than welcome." She nodded in reply to his bow, and took advantage of that moment to further admire the gleaming sheet of black hair that had fallen, hiding his features. It made her want to ask him more. To find out who this mysterious elven man was, to understand why he seemed so extremely uncomfortable here. "I'm Emmiadora, by the way. Emmia, for the convenience of time. I due apoligized for not stating this first off. May I ask you for your name?"

"Emmia..." He whispered to himself, unware that he spoke outloud. Jao slowly straightened back up, stalling for time. Though he wasn't well known throughout the Bredia territory, he did have something of a... reputation. "Jao." He replied softly after a short hesitation. It wouldn't do to give a false identity after she'd gone out of her way to help a stranger. Hopefully he wouldn't have to explain himself if Emmia had heard of him. But, well, if that was the case... maybe she would understand. Stranger things had happened.

Marael smiled as someone, probably Luke, started humming. It was a soft tune and her mind slipped back into the distant past when her father used to hum her to sleep. Her eyes started to drift closed, and she started to slide off the chair. She jolted awake right before she fell, and caught herself on the back of the chair. She gave a soft curse in Elvish stood up, stretching, her legs stiff from sitting.
She gazed out the window and saw a familiar dark shape slip past. "About time." She muttered, soundlessly moving to open the door for Gabe. He slipped inside, rubbing his tail against her legs in greeting as he made his way past her. He walked around the room, pausing briefly to sniff at Terra and the wolf. With a sneeze he completed his circuit at the window where Marael had been sitting earlier. She smiled and walked over to him, giving him a gentle stroke before lying down to sleep. Gaebrial, as usual, laid next to her, his golden eyes closed in an instant. She ran a hand through his silky fur and drifted off into sleep.

Caranthir paced in his study, his mind whirling over the events that had transpired a sun's cycle before today's.
He had been pleasantly surprised that Ichnel had come to pay him a visit last night, instead of the other way around. But he'd been so shocked when he saw that Ichnel had a guest with him. Another dark elf of all things! It'd taken all of the Elder's will not to simply just grab a weapon in reflex.
Ichnel had seemed to expect that reaction and filled Caranthir in on the details. After they'd talked awhile, Caranthir agreed to let younger dark elf stay in the village provided he'd stay on the outskirts and out of sight.
Caranthir rubbed his temples.
"Ichnel attracts trouble like honey attracts bears...oh well. I'll let time see what this new darkling is really about," he murmered.
And if the arrival of a another dark elf was not enough, apparantly there was a VERY large group that had come as well. He'd heard whispering among the elves that the new arrivals were dressed strangely and that their ears were dull! He barely dared get his hopes up... After the other dark elf had left, he'd questioned Ichnel about it. Ichnel smiled and said that the guests were indeed human.
The Elder was fairly sure he would have passed out from the shock and happiness had Ichnel not caught him. Humans in the village!? What great fortune! He couldn't wait to see them! But then again...the other elves probably would have mixed feelings for them... and then there was the matter that they arrived through the door. He'd asked Ichnel to bring them outside of the village to meet with him, just incase. Caranthir ran his hands trhough his long hair and pulled it back into a low horse-tail, picked up his staff, and left his house.
He greeted the villagers he met along the way to the deserted glen where Ichnel would bring the new arrivals.

Sun had taken it upon himself to cast his rays right onto Emmia's sleeping form. Her small frame rose and fell in a rythmic movement with the as she started to wake. She rolled over, receiving a face full of blinding light through her closed eyelids. Frustrated, her arm lazily moved to cover her eyes as she let out a low sort of groan. For a few moments she simply lay there, blocking the door with her body. It had taken all of two seconds for her to calapse once she had made it back within Lae's home. Of course, she had gone and placed a blanket over everyone who lacked one before slumping forward into instant exhaustion. She had spent the better half of the night finding Ichnel and delivering Jao to him. She had been happy to help, but in the process she had only just gotten home before the suns rose. Finally accepting defeat, she sat up and glanced around the room. 'Right where I left you...' she thought, her eyes passing over the scattered group. She came to her feet groggily and stretched her arms and stiff legs, then silently stepped towards the window. Stepping over the others, she stood close to the glass and gazed out, her thoughts drifting to the darkling she'd met the previous night. As her gaze set blankly on the unfold of the new day, a thought crossed her mind. It had almost seemed like just a dream, and at this realization she dearly wished it hadn't been. She clung to the image of his scarlet face, so nervous at her presence. Jao. She hoped he'd gotten some rest as well. When he'd said his name, Emmia swore that something had clicked. A far-off memory that was just out of reach, and try as she might she couldn't quite place why it seemed familiar.

Ichnel rose with the sun setting about his garden watering the plants that needed it and feeding the others. He was at peace.
Finishing up the morning chores, he washed quickly, put on a set of practice clothing and left for Lae's house. Normally, he'd wear his long white hair up in a que but for some odd reason today, he felt like leaving it down.
As he walked, Ichnel thought about what the Elder had discussed with him the previous night. If indeed the humans had come through the door... and then there was the other arrivals, Thayli and Jao... he sighed. It would do no good to dwell on that path of thinking. Instead his thoughts turned to Jeni and Valerye. Particularly Jeni. He remembered how well she'd fought and he smiled. How she moved and flowed her strikes together...she really was graceful even with her short temper. Ichnel's cheeks lightly flushed. He would be very happy to see her again.
He was also looking forward to training Valerye and any of the other humans who had magick of the Earth. Or if any wished to learn daggerwork or basic defense, he would be more than happy to do that as well.
As he walked he ignored the cold glances of the other villagers and instead wished them a good morning. When he arrived at Lae's tree/house, Ichnel smartly rapped on the door and stood in front of it, patiently waiting for someone to answer it.

There are no such things as coincidence.Valerye woke to someone knocking on the door of Lae's tree house. She looked out the window she slept under. She had slept peacefully, despite the recent events. Slowly looking around, Valerye found Emmia looking out the window, in thought. She didn't want to bother her for whatever reason, and decided to answer the door herself.
Untangling herself from her blanket took the better part of a minute, but she was able to get the door. "Miss Lae's not available at the moment. Ple- Oh. Ichnel, sorry." Valerye didn't know if Lae would mind, but she let the elf in anyways. "Everyone's still asleep. Except for Emmia." There is only hitsuzen

Jao slowly opened his eyes, the irises a murky green from sleep deprivation. He jolted up right in a panic, unable to recognize his settings and with no memory of how he'd gotten there. After a long second of adrenaline pumped confusion, he remembered what had happened. The Bredia territory. Yes, that's right. Jao slumped back against the floor, body limp with the sleep that still dragged at his weary limbs. Last night's events still afflicted his mind as if they'd happened but a minute ago, Emmia's defined features flashing across his vision like a surreal dream. A shadow of a grin tugged at the corner of his mouth. Emmia. Several minutes later after he'd dressed, Jao set about the house looking for his host so he could thank him for his hospitality. A brief search revealed that Ichel seemed to have already left. The dark elf quickly wrote out a note of thanks and bundled together his things, then walked outside, reveling in the early morning's light. He was still unsure of where to go, but headed in the general direction he'd seen Emmia leave to last night.

Gabe gave a giant yawn and stretched langourously, his tail moving lazily. He blinked a few times sleepily and looked around the room at the occupants, most of whom were still asleep. He sat up and nudged Marael with his paw, who groaned and rolled over.
"Not now, Gabe." She murmured sleepily. Gabe nudged her again, and she ignored him. He glanced around, a mischevious look in his eyes. He patted Marael a couple more times, to which she merely grunted in reply. Then he used his claws delicately in her shoulder.
"GAH!" Marael sat up straight, her shoulder smarting slightly, issuing a stream of elven curses. "GAEBRIAL!" Marael growled. The panther cocked a head at her, looking amused. She aimed a kick at his side, which he easily sidestepped, causing her to kick Haydin's foot instead. Gabe then lunged forward to tackle Marael and lay across her stomach, pinning her to the ground. She grunted. "Get off me, you lump!" She muttered. With a yawn, he stood up, and sauntered across the room to sit at the door impatiently. Muttering threats to turn him into a cloak, Marael sleepily stood up and slipped around the room to open the door for the feline. He slipped past her, rubbing his tail against her leg in thanks.
With a sigh Marael turned to Ichnel and Valerye. "Morning." She gave a yawn.
((Sorry, I was bored...))

There are no such things as coincidence.Valerye chuckled at Gabe's method for waking Marael up. "Emmia, and Marael. Morning to you too."
That was right, it was their first morning in Bredia. Smiling at the two elves, Valerye opened to door wider. "Would you like to come in?" There is only hitsuzen
