Well practicing painting won't help(I've actually painted a fair amount and it seems I never get better) but I do like the idea of hodge podging some pre-painted ork stuff. That is something I can do. xd

One of those cheese questions again: FW recently produced Apocalypse rules for the Damocles command Rhino, for a mere 60 pts. it grants you improved communications, a teleport beacon and the Orbital Bombardment strategic asset. Seeing as I play Guard I like to get any cheap way of evening the odds for my men in flak. However, fielding a single marine vehicle in a Guard army seems a little cheap to some. The idea of converting a Trojan into a command vehicle comes to mind, or would this be a case of "pushing mah luck"?

Maybe, though a Trojan is based on the Chimera chassis and has the same shitty armour values as the Rhino.

I didn't find an answer reading back to page 19 so I'm going to go ahead and ask.
if gw releases the data sheat for a vehicle (non super heavy) and you build one could you use it in regular games of 40k? after seeing the landraider ares... I never carred that a landraider could carry infantry but they put a demolisher cannon on it and I nearly s**t myself with joy.
on a side note, I'm running into a lot of rhino chasis I don't know what to do with...

on a side note, I'm running into a lot of rhino chasis I don't know what to do with... If it's a datasheet released for a unit in apocalypse I'd say that it's only for apocalypse games. The fact of the matter is that units released in Apoc rules are units that can demolish large units and therefor would give you an unfair advantage in standard games. After all, imagine what the necron monolith phalanx formation would do in a standard match. It may be a bad example, but I'm too lazy to find a non-super heavy or legendary unit in the Apoc rulebook.

I would let vehicles from datafaxes be used in regular games. Not formations or such, but single vehicles like the land raiders, or some of the others. Provided, of course, that you use standard blast/ord templates, and not the HUGE a** Apocalypse ones.
I mean, if you want to sink a quarter of your points in one unit in a regular game, I won't stop you.

Pretty much it boils down to opponents consent. If your opponent allows it, then fine, but if they'd rather not because it might be unfair, then I don't think it's unreasonable to just not use them.

FW has separate rules for most of their stuff, so use those instead of the ones found in the Apocalypse and IA Apocalypse books.

I just checked through Apocalypse Reload, and I'm eager to get my hands on the book~
It's filled with awesome win as well as "thrown" together speedy stuff that didn't make any sense at all.
