Hyku lowered his sword and struggled to his feet, crawling from under the beast. He then looked to the chantress and let out a small smile. He began talking through his pain.
I do not think I could have taken that beast by myself. I thank you with my life. As he started to walk to her, he seethed his sword My name is Hyku.

As Ko'tahl grappled one of the goblins, he could feel a certain...power welling up in his hands and channeling through into his weapon. He didn't quite know what he could do with it, but while he was considering it, he realized something - the goblin that he had originally grappled hand been a distance from him equal to nearly twice what his hooks should have been able to extend to!
While Lianna charged the goblins, two of them charged straight back at her, one hefting a large club nearly the size of himself and the other wielding a crude, rusty knife.
~
The girl nodded solemly. "That quillcat once killed a dromad that I was hand-raising. Otherwise, Thunderhorse, a spirit of revenge, might not have been able to help you. You were lucky."

Liana gauged the big differences in the two and decided that maybe taking out the swifter one, the knife weilder would be much better. So she ran at the bigger one, but at the last second lept toward the knife weilder and clawed at his arm. She slid across the ground making sure to keep a fair amount of distance between herself and the two.

"I guess I was lucky. I am so confused as of late. Over the last day I have met things and beings that have utterly thrown me around."
Hyku winced in pain and fell to one knee from the quill in his arm.
"Heh, I guess I forgot about this quill."

This is your doing, isn't it? Ko'tahl thought in surprise as his 'light' pull of the goblin brought the little creature flying towards him instead of simply to the ground as he had planned.
((taking this into my hands, hope that's okay))
Ko'tahl stared for a moment and thought about the possibilities. Then, like a drug, the strength washed over him, enveloping his senses. He could smell the salty air of the sea, feel the chilled breeze, taste the water in the air. He could even see his own power flowing out of him like a tidal wave.
Suddenly, Ko'tahl bound forward, throwing his hooked chain forward with all his strength. The back end of the hook caught a goblin just below the neck, sending the little vermin reeling backwards. Ko'tahl twisted his wrist and pulled hard, causing the hook to come flying back, hooking one of the little monsters in the back of the head and yanking it towards him.
((If I'm getting a little out-of-hand, tell me and I'll edit the post))

((Go buck-wild, son.))
The goblin Lianna had clawed screeched and brought the rusty knife down in a wide, flailing arc toward her. The club-wielding goblin rushed toward them, waving its club around wildly.
((You two can take control of this fight how you want to. If I need something to happen, I'll intercede.))
~
The girl sighed and grasped the quill with both hands. She began wrenching it out of Hyku's arm. The pain was, all things considered, pretty unbearable.

Hyku let grit his teeth and let out stifled groans of pain. After the quill was removed, he dropped to his other knee and his hands, panting through his pain
Thank....you again...chantress..

((*cracks fingers...not.* Let's see what I can do.))
Liana slammed the club wielder in the chest with her foot, then rolled to the side away from the knife wielder, but not in time to have the blade slice down her side. She hissed and snarled in pain and anger. She whirled onto all fours and maneuvered around the two goblins. The grass beneath her felt clean and soft. She made sure to keep her eyes on the other enemies around her, it was hard, considering how many there were. The knife goblin attacked again wildly, but Liana was ready this time. As it ran at her, she round-house kicked him, ducked under the club of the bigger one and then lept on top of the ugly knife wielder and sunk her claws into his throat and tore out a handful of vital organs and tissue. The clubbed goblin tried to bring his weapon down on Liana, but she rolled off the knife wielder and the club came down on the face of the knife wielder, killing it.
Liana then threw the handfuls of blood and guts into the face of the bigger one. She dodged the jagged short sword of another, and sprang around to the club goblin, just as he cleared his vision of his companions guts. Liana jumped on his back and bit his neck, digging her claws into its side, close to where the lungs would be on a human. Her mouth filled with a metallic taste of blood, she did not swallow. All at once, she jerked her head back, and removed a large chunk of flesh. She spit it out past the goblin's head so he could see the damage, then pulled her claws out, making sure to rake its sides, blood spurted from him like a sprinkler. The goblin screamed in pain and hatred, and whirled around to face her. At the same moment two other goblins came upon her, barring brutal weapons of destruction.
Liana roared at them, and watched as Ko'tahl's hooks cut through one of them. She sneered, letting the goblin blood and saliva run down her chin. The club wielder roared again, and swung at Liana. She moved barley as it grazed her shoulder knocking her slightly off balance. At that moment, the rage within her flared, and without any remorse or thinking, she let out a piercing, blood curdling roar, like glass being broken, and a small child screaming in pain and fear, then shifting to the deep bellow of a lion. The goblin hesitated for a second, as if paralyzed by the sound. Then Liana slid to his legs, and clawed at his groin area. The goblin released the club trying to protect its vitals, and Liana punched him in the face. He toppled down, grabbing for his newly acquired wound. Liana jumped on top of him and dug out his eyes, the vitreous fluid and eye balls sinking into its skull, blood oozed out, along with other fluids that normally came from the eye. She did this until the goblin stopped moving.
She didn't have time to glory in her victory as a more goblins began to circle her. At this point, she was reveling in the battle, the red stains of her enemies covered her face, from her hands to elbows, and her front. The blood made her sneer as she released another roar at the advancing goblins. twisted
((I think I am done for now. Tee Hee! sweatdrop ))

((Sorry for the delay in posting. I have had an abysmal couple of weeks. That should be no surprise by now. Matt and Penny, post how you like. As I said before, this fight is pretty much 'filler' while I catch James up somewhat. Speaking of which, James, could you please stick to one style of posting? It's kind of disorientating when you keep switching like that...))
She nodded. "My name is Svena. I'm Gordon's daughter and a shaman. Thank you for protecting the caravan. If you want, you can rest up in one of the wagons for a while. We don't have an actual healer with us, but I can create a few polstuces that should aid in healing you." She hefted a small, strong smelling bag. "It's a simple effort, really."

((I'm at school, so I will have to edit this later. Thank the Lord for Mozilla! xd heart blaugh ))
Internally, Liana was debating whether or not to taunt these ugly, filthy vagabonds, but after dodging the blows of a mace wielder and the short swordsman, she decided that a straight faced killing spree always got the job done. Liana released another roar that seemed to belong to a dragon much bigger than herself, then lept at a goblin with a knife. At the last second, as he expected her to impale herself on his tiny weapon (( ninja )) she stopped in her tracks and swept his legs out form under him. He hit the ground hard, his knife flying from his hand and into the sheild of an unsuspecting goblin. He jumped and looked around worried.
Liana racked her claws across the goblin-on-the-ground's face. She had no real weapon, but saw the club of the no eyes goblin an arms reach away and decided to go play some goblin head ball.

Hyku simply nodded and used his sword as a crutch to get back to his holding quarters. He layed himself on the floor so he could heal up. Hopefully the stuff the healer gave him worked fast.
As the caravan began again to the Capital, Hyku simply thought to himself. I am not warrior, so why was I chosen for this? Why was I given this huge sword to fight with? Why am I so special to his Avatar?

Liana was surprised to find that the club wasn't all that heavy. To her it was like swinging a calf around for branding. Which she had done on occasion for a place to stay and money for her purse.
Liana practically let gravity do all the work.

After a while, the medicinal smell of the poultice and the soft rolling of the caravan caused the wounded Hyku to drift off to a dreamless sleep.
~
After a fierce battle, Liana and Ko'tahl stood among a mass of dead goblins. The strange shaman stood a distance away, daggers still in hand.

Liana wiped some of the filth from her face. "They sure do splatter nicely." Liana said with a grin to Ko'tahl. "Reminds me of the time I worked for the butcher." Liana watched the shaman, she glared, knowing better than to charge him.

((Sorry for not posting anything during the fight. Lack of motivation combined with waiting for James to catch up. Now I see that James will never catch up because he posts less than I do and in poor quality (sorry, James, but damn) so I'm just gunna go on. I think you should do the same, Chris))
Ko'tahl wiped the sweat from his forehead while he recoiled up his chain, bringing the hook into his strong right hand. "If you want a fight, you should have sent something more worth-while!" Ko'tahl shouted, a little uneasy partly after Liana's less-than-civil display and partly due to the mystery of the shaman. Ko'tahl had never met such a man before, and he wasn't sure what the hooded figure was capable of. It could be that the goblins were merely a test of their strength and that the shaman had an ace up his sleeve.
