sachiko_sohma Well there is probably one item I won't get back (I didn't notice the red ninja like scarf as I call it, was missing until after I reported it. But I can always save up and buy a new one once I get my gold back). But Geez, 8-9 months to hear back from them is a really long time. Sounds like alot of people are being hacked. Thankfully nothing like that has happened to me so far. sweatdrop Although I'm sure I'm jynxing myself just by saying that.

Am I the only one that doesn't get the whole global warming thing?
Everyone keeps talking about and blaming humanity for the Earth warming up it's actually been colder then ever here (we even got snow today, not much but we hardly ever get snow).
When it's starts to become 100+ degrees in the winter time here then i'll believe it.

sachiko_sohma Am I the only one that doesn't get the whole global warming thing? Everyone keeps talking about and blaming humanity for the Earth warming up it's actually been colder then ever here (we even got snow today, not much but we hardly ever get snow). When it's starts to become 100+ degrees in the winter time here then i'll believe it. I think that's why people are starting to call it "Global Climate Change". The issue with "Global Warming" is that we can't be completely sure if what we are doing is effecting the temperature or not. We don't have the best data on weather in general, and the Earth has been warming up since the last ice age (about 2,000,000 years ago). Though we are putting a lot of CO 2 into the atmosphere, we aren't putting out anywhere near the amounts that humans did during the Industrial Revolution. While I completely agree that people should try to limit the carbon they are putting out (and try to do things, like planting trees, to take some of that carbon out of the air), I can't say if I completely believe many of the statements made by some politicians about "Global Warming". And I'm very, very sick of all this "be afraid" shtick that if everyone doesn't stop driving/eating beef/breathing the Earth is going to blow up tomorrow (hyperbole, but still). Also, I'm sick of every time some horrible weather-type thing happens, people are like, "See! This is what Global Warming is doing!" without bothering to actually look for evidence of this. Yes, we had a pretty bad hurricane season not too long ago, but this year was pretty mild comparatively (so, did "Global Warming" do that too?). The climate is constantly changing, everywhere, all of the time, very, very slowly. There is nothing that humans can do to stop this. I agree that we should work towards technologies that don't pollute as much (and are renewable), in part because they might slow the rising Global Temperature. To actually answer your points, winters can get colder and the average temperature could still be (and is, in fact) rising. But you aren't the only one who doesn't completely believe in everything said about "Global Warming". Also, we should all plant a tree or two in the Spring. *grin*

I had to laugh when people blame cow farts of all things for this whole climate change.
It's natural for the temperture to raise abit every so often years but that has nothing do with people (I don't how that one lightbulb that they show on tv is supposed to help with that and from what i'm told, that lightbulb isn't very healthy if you use it too much it's better if you only use for places like the garage).
Yes it is good to plant trees and have less pollution (for health reasons for both animals and people).
If anything, there is too much trash, I like idea for reuseable bags (even only having a few would cut down the amount of waste for plastic bags).

We use the florescent light bulbs, and don't have any problems. But I like them because they both last a lot longer and take way less electricity (so they're cheaper to have on). I like the reusable bags also, we get them from Giant Eagle (I like that they sell them - and the bags are only a dollar, and biodegradable when you have to get rid of them). It seems like someone could figure out how to harvest the methane from cow farts for energy, like they do from cow crap. But that's just me...

*does the Happy Rat Dance*
We just got a new, huge cage for our rats (we have three lovely girls: Opal, Rose, and Lucy). It was expensive, and it took 2 hours to assemble, but I love it, and the rats love it.
We also got a new, bigger, cage for our gerbil, Mia (yes, I know that gerbils should be in pairs, but she was already in a single cage and too old to introduce). Which she likes digging in. Gerbils have tiny brains, and only room for one word: Dig!
I love my pets!

That's awesome! A lot of times, people try to say smaller animals should have small environments, but they're so much happier (and healthier) in bigger homes. It's totally worth it if you love your pets to get them bigger homes ^^

I wish it was global warming over here... summer lasted TWO WEEKS.
And I really don't get fahrenheit at all, so I will put it to you in celsius: we had two weeks of summery sunshine around 25 degrees (normal for my area). And it's been below twenty the rest of the time. A record number of people here suffered SAD because of the lack of summer. Rawr. (BTW that's like 80 degrees fahrenheit apparently).
Global warming is such a political stick. Give 'em four years and it'll be gooooone.
I do agree that reducing carbon emissions would lead to a healthier environment ANYWAY so it should be done. BUT STOP RAISING FRICKIN' PETROL PRICES GORDON BROWN! I'm serious! It's over a pound a litre now! Average is like 104.9p per litre. Which is $7.81 per gallon. Sure, some of that is tax, but still! And it's going to go up this spring! FRICKIN' RIDICULOUS. It makes me angry, especially since the public transport is awful. And the MPs drive/are driven in cars that burn more fuel than the average family. Oh but they can afford it.
GAH.
(Also I am now nineteen and the internet is working at home again.) : D

Some animals just don't do well as pets (we had two lizards once but after awhile both refused to eat and we tried to get them help but we were told that lizards get depressed when taken into captivity). They belong in the wild, not cages.

sachiko_sohma Is it ok to put three rats in one cage? We did that with with Hamsters and they ended killing each other a few years later. Syrian hamsters are solitary rodents. They need to live alone, or they will fight (sometimes to the death) for their "territory". Rats are social rodents, and live fine in large groups (so long as their cage is big enough). Dwarf hamsters are also social, so you could get two or three of them (of the same gender - so no babies) in one cage, if they were raised together. Rats are unhappy without rat friends, because they are so social.

Too bad we had to learn the hard way they some hamsters don't like other hamsters in their "territory". The weird part was, they seemed to have gotten along for awhile, then one decided to kill the other so suddenly.

Suddenly, they reach maturity, and have to fight for their territory. I'm guessing that in the wild, the loser would be able to flee. But, like with male Beta fish, when the loser doesn't have space to run away too, they will fight to the death. It is really sad that it happened to your pets. But, as far as I know, Syrian Hamsters are the only pet rodent that needs to live alone (even other hamster species, like the Russian Dwarf Hamsters, are social rodents).

Tomarrow I have a driving test (I failed the first time). I'm so nervous and dreading the test.
I just hope nothing goes wrong.
