Wow, the Items went down to 12.5k. I give up. Nothing ever rises...
They went down because everyone realised that they'll be popular and bought a load (with real money).
They'll go up in a couple of months. It takes time.
Every single item this year has not gone up and just has been going down. I find it hard that this time it will be different.
They'll probably go up in a year or so.
I'll tell you what's happened, and you can look at the price history charts on TekTek.org to see what I mean: these items start off expensive because there aren't many on the market, and people are buying them to speculate (i.e. in the hope they they'll go up a bit more in the short term and they can make a quick profit).
Then there's a sudden explosion in the number of donations to Gaia and therefore the number of people selling, and therefore there's a [dramatic] fall in price. The people donating can afford to undercut eachother because any price they sell it for will be a profit in terms of gold. Once the people who actually want the item have the item, the price falls even more until then end of the month when no more are entering the market, and then remains steady as the market was so flooded with these items when they first came out there's enough of a supply to meet demand.
But because no more are being made and there's a constant influx of new users to Gaia, the price will
eventually go up, just not for a very long time (like a year). If you want to make money, you either have to wait it out (and buy them right at the end of the month if you do), or start donating to Gaia and sell right at the beginning of the month.
It's all because the donation system changed recently; the economics changed with it. It's harder to make money, but it's also fairer I suppose.
