Some of those that burn crosses . . . Rothrandir's parents were this close to injecting their son with a tranquilizer. If the boy didn't stop bouncing around, chanting, 'School, school, school, school!' Mìrlathron was going to strangle him. Alàndir had insisted he was just excited and to let the boy get it all out of his system and he'd calm down. However, Mìrla dryly reminded his husband that Rand was Half-Elf, and had boundless energy. Al admitted he had a point.
"Calm now, ion-nin," Al told Rand, who was hopping around on the balls of his feet chanting his mantra. Rand immediately sobered respectfully, reigning his emotions in with the control only an Elf could have. "Do you have all your things?"
"Tancave, Adar," Rand sighed for the millionth time. Really, his adar was too protective.
"Then off you go. Namàrië, ion-nin," Mìrla said, kissing his son on the forehead. Rand hugged his fathers, knowing he'd miss them terribly, even if he would probably run back home often.
"Màra mesta," Rand said desolately, sadness creeping in as he walked toward the forest; the school was on the other side of it. He hitched his leather bag higher on his back, waved to his parents again, and made a dash into the forest, knowing if he looked back he'd lose his nerve.
His trek through the forest was a blurry, never-ending one. He was glad of it, being around his trees, in this forest he grew up in. He could practically talk to the trees! As he thought more and more about school, learning new things, meeting new people, Rand got more and more excited, the sad thoughts of leaving his ada and adar far behind him. Finally, he could see the edge of the forest after running for many miles. That was excellent as well. His school was on the edge of the forest! He could go in any time he wanted! Well, so long as time and classes permitted; he didn't know what he'd do if he couldn't be among his forest. When he could definitely see the light peeking through the leaves, Rand made a weightless leap, landing on a high branch. He hobbled a bit, but finally had his balance about him, and took off again in the same fashion, hopping from branch to branch. He landed on one last one, stopping when he could see the gates to the school, and some kids on the ground. Wow! His first meeting with other people! He gasped. "Aiya!" he breathed in fascination.
It was then Rand noticed he wasn't alone on his branch. There was a girl here, blue hair and petite, seeming to distance herself from the others. What did he say? Should he greet her, or pass by? Well, adar had told him to be nice to all others, even if they were different. So, he extended his hand. "Suilaid!" he greeted. "Rothrandir eneth nîn. Estannen Rand. Findesselya vanya! Manen nalyë? Man eneth lín?*" he asked, maybe a little too exuberantly.
~*Greetings! My name is Rothrandir. I am called Rand. Your hair is pretty! How are you? What is your name?~ . . .

Akemi......
Surprised as someone sat beside her, she regained her composure and looked calmly at her, her heart thumping like crazy. Someone's actually talking to me? I'm scary aren't I? she thought, confused. " Y-you..aren't afraid of me? " she asked, flustered. This was the first time she had ever talked to someone other then her relatives. She then smiled warmly at her, glad that she could have a chance at making friends. " My name is Akemi! Nice to meet you! I'm sorry for a few minutes ago. People usually found it scary when I stared at them and my skin is surprisingly cold. " she said, dejected. She put her hand out, reaching for a handshake. " Or would you rather have a hug? " she asked, laughing.

First, Ken was nearly thrown to the ground from a girl running into him, he flailed his arms about yelling a bit as he regained his balance. Once that little action was finished, he noticed something a bit off. An irritated look took hold of his face as his eye twitched and he glanced up slowly, noticing the glob of water before it fell upon his head. He closed his eyes before the water struck instinctively and just stood there, his head up as it had been before the water had fallen on him. He spit some water out of his mouth, moving his arm up to wipe his face against the sleeve, and sighed. "Yep... Wonderful..." He looked around to find the culprit, noticing quite a few new people and the girl from before. Of course, he didn't really have the power to sniff out suspects, so he was at a loss to who had done that. Well, it was kind of given away once he noticed the girl from earlier had giggled.
His anger disappeared and he simply rubbed his forehead with his pointer finger and thumb, sighing once again as a slight migraine struck. Fun, fun... His eyes fell upon another girl who happened to be carrying a sword. He would have to talk to her later, for it had been quite a while since his kendo lessons had been used. He was probably incredibly rusty. His shoulders lifted as he shrugged and Ken's eyes shifted towards the one-winged girl once again. Another girl had decided to interact with her and along with that a pretty hyper kid. Ken scratched his cheek, looking at the three with a curious expression and decided to introduce himself. He stepped over to them, rubbing the cape of his neck as he looked down at the one winged girl. "Thanks for the shower." He said in a sarcastic tone, holding a slight smirk on his face.

Ada became puzzled. Why would she be afraid of her? This school had many types of students; she would have to get used to seeing the many races around here. "It's no problem. There are probably others like you, anyways." Ada shook Akemi's hand. It was cold, but Ada felt some warmth from meeting a new acquaintance in this big school.
Ada looked at Ken, still soaked with water. She couldn't help but laugh at his sarcasm and noted that he might get revenge. "Today doesn't seem to be your lucky day, doesn't it? Whatever did you do to cause all this bad luck." A smile was still on her face; it looked like she would meet very unsual acquantances so it was best to approach everything with a positive outlook.

Inuki walked in and looked around, a day late thanks to bad directions from a random idiot. She sighed and paused, glancing at the people there, keeping quiet mostly due to the fact she hardly slept at all the past few days.

Akemi......
Akemi smiled, glad to have someone as Ada. She felt the warmth from her hand and smiled even wider. " You know, you're really nice! " she said, laughing. This day was getting better as it progressed. In front of her then appeared the guy who she had splashed. Her mouth opened to say something but she closed it again, unable to say anything. She became strangely calm again and her annoyed side kicked in. Nobody was supposed to talk to her like that.
" You're welcome. " she said, equally sarcastic. A smirk formed on her face and she crossed her arms. She then turned back to Ada, back to her happy side. Peering to the side with one eye, she turned back, feeling slightly guilty. " Sorry. " she said, keeping it simple. " My name is Akemi. Nice to meet you. I think. " she said, not wanting to show her nice side to him unless he became friends with her.

Ken's brow furrowed for a moment before his face relaxed. The smirk, though, remained on his face. "Nice introduction. What an interesting way to hit on me, by the way." He glanced down with at her, letting it be known once she looked at him, that he was one eye short, hence the eyepatch. Usually it intimidated quite a few people, so it was fun to try it every once in a while. It was soon turned towards Ada though, hearing what she said. He shook his head and chuckled for a moment. "Not really. What did I do? Hmm... Live, I guess..." He shrugged and brought his legs up, sitting indian style in mid-air. He propped his head up in his hand, setting his elbow on his knee as he continued to look between the girls. "So, I noticed there were quite a few out-of-this-world beings, and really, it feels kind of weird being a human here..." It was true. He felt out of place. He hoped there were others like him though. Humans with powers. Ken sighed, closing his eye for a moment before opening it again to look back at the one-winged girl. "So, are both of you beautiful girls new?" He asked, chuckling under his breath after he'd complimented them and flashed them a quick wink.

Ada laughed a bit at his answer to her question and nodded at the next statement. Being a human herself, it too felt out of place with all these different races. There were demons, elves, angels, and more. The transition between an all human school and this would be an excellent adventure, and Ada wasn't even sure if she was ready for it. "Yes, I'm new. It's probably been less than an hour than I arrived, actually." Ada took another look at her surroundings; such foreign buildings that she would soon be acquainted with! It will certainly be an interesting time here. You also couldn't forget the people you would see here too. "Are you familiar with the area?"

Akemi......
Akemi frowned, clearly not happy with his attitude. As she tried to be nice for once, she frowned even deeper. Annoyed AND angry, she looked towards him, glaring. " FYI, I wasn't hitting on you. I pity the one who does. " she said sourly. Having him look down at her, her eyes glared once again. She hated it when people looked down on her. Both ways. She was vertically challenged but she didn't let that become a disadvantage for her. What you did? You annoyed me. she muttered under her breath. Her arms remained crossed, her brow furrowing.
" Don't worry. There are plenty more of your kind. " Akemi replied, wishing there wasn't. Well, at least those kinds with his attitude. Trying to calm down, she took three deep breaths. The compliment that came from sort of helped. " I guess. " she answered, her eyes softening. Her arms uncrossed and she smiled lightly. Akemi felt that she should be kinder. It wouldn't hurt to make another friend.

Inuki glanced at the two girls and the boy talking for a moment, then walked away to look around, maybe even find where she was supposed to go.. After awhile of walking she paused to look out a window. "....lost again..." she mumbled as she glanced at the sky through the glass.

Ken's eye narrowed as he listened to Akemi. He could tell that they were going to have a tough time befriending eachother, if it ever happened. He crossed his arms as well, looking down at Ada who seemed to be the kinder of the two. He smiled, lowering his irritated feature and shook his head to respond to her question. "Nope, not really. I went into the building before, but I didn't get a good look around the place." He lowered his feet so he was standing now instead of hovering, and placed his arms behind his head, leaning back a bit on his heel. His compliment hadn't done much to Ada, but he could tell Akemi had liked it. It made him chuckle a bit under his breath. They were both, as he'd said, beautiful, so atleast he hadn't completely been trying to hit on them. "So, would you ladies like to check the place out with me?" He really didn't know if he'd care if they chose to come along or not, but something told him and Akemi weren't done butting heads for the day yet. Atleast he knew compliments worked on her pretty well. "What about you, cutie?" He said, smiling down at Akemi.

Ada listened to Akemi's response to the guy. Perhaps he was bad news, but Ada wasn't sure whether or not Akemi's judgement was right or wrong. He seemed nice, but she usually wasn't an observant person. If an insult was slipped in, Ada hadn't noticed at all. "I suppose it would be nice to have a little tour around here." Ada nodded before remembering something. She suddenly felt embarrassed for forgetting such a thing, and her cheeks turned a little pink. "Ah! I had forgotten to introduce myself, hadn't I? My name's Ada."

Akemi......
Akemi smiled, her cheeks turning red because of his compliments. She had never really been complimented on her appearance. The only ones she got was from her aunt who had taught her how to cook. Looking up at him, she giggled and her eyes will filled with joy. He wasn't that bad of a person, just annoying sometimes. She could tell that he was trying to compliment her on purpose but she couldn't help it. " Sure! " she replied enthusiastically. She knew she would get angry at him again later but she had nothing better to do. Akemi stood up, gesturing for Ada to follow while eying the nearby fountain. Her finger created a circle of water again, this time being much smaller. She dragged across the air putting into Ken's hand. " That's my apology gift for being so rude earlier. " she said, keeping it's shape. The water swirled around and if you looked closely you could see a small rainbow inside because of the sun. With her power, she kept it intact as it came in contact with his hand. " Where do you want to go first? " she asked, curious.

He had to admit it was a bit amusing seeing both girls get a bit flustered; one from his compliments, the other for forgetting to introduce herself. "It's fine. My name is Ken." He bowed a bit, feeling as if he should use his manners and stood straight seconds later. "It's a pleasure to meet both of you." As he witnessed Akemi's display of her powers, he was kind of awed by the beauty. He cradled the orb of water in his hand gently, feeling as if the slightest touch could pop it like a bubble. "Thanks, but is this thing gonna pop once you get out of range?" He liked it and actually wished he could keep it. It was nice to recieve such a gift and he felt his care for the girl rise a bit more from it. "Well, my daily regime is to wing it, so let's just do that, shall we?" He shrugged and waited for the girls to stand up before walking.

Akemi......
Akemi laughed at Ken who seemed kind of worried about the little gift. It was nice that he cared for it in such a way. " Nice to meet you Ken! Which reminds me, I haven't told you my name! It's Akemi! " she said, smiling warmly. As she released her grip, she put a tiny portion of her power into to make it stay intact and not pop. " Does that answer your question? " she said, giggling. " I guess we shall! " she said, her cheeks red from laughter. She was starting to enjoy talking to Ken. She had already stood up and tugged on Ada's arm for her to stand as well.
