"What's all this talk about leaving people behind?"

Gabriel arched an eyebrow, then looked over the little troupe that was assembled. Two people weren't in any condition to fight. Then there were two others that, well, weren't fighters at all. That left him, the one-eyed man with the sword, the new guy, and some other guy with a grenade launcher. Wait, when did that guy get there?

Gabe sighed and shook his head. Things just weren't looking well for him right now. They needed to get back, but without Tweak, they were lost. With Tweak, they were probably worse off. Without Owle, they had no radar, but Owle was also needed to carry one of the wounded back to safety. Without the new guy, they were minus a fighter, but another wounded man was being carried off to safety.

"s**t."

He cursed beneath his breath and looked down, hands on his hips. Things definetly weren't looking up for him.

"Anybody have any suggestions as to how the rest of us are to get out of here without you."

He pointed to Owle.

"And you?"

He pointed to Tweak.

Leaning through the door frame Fuller looked at the others. A little chuckle escaping his lips as he gave a rather out of place smirk. Shaking his head for a moment his eyes went from each in turn before stopping on the blue haired woman.

"Your heart is in the right place. But unless we have a way of carrying them with us and not put ourselves in danger then it would be best to just give them a mercy tap."

Of course he was meaning a mercy tap in that they should get a .38 to the head so they didn't lay in anguish.

Moving past them all he ducked into a room and picked up a gun of said caliber and was standing amongst them now. The grenade launcher hanging infront of him while an AK was strung across his back. He was heavily armed; but it didn't look like he would be able to move all that fast with the weight. Truth be told though it was lighter then a full kit as he didn't have a lot of the specialised gear or basic equipment that a soldier was expected to carry.

"Look, I'll even do it myself if your squemish about it."

"We're not leaving anyone." Kalis stated in a casual tone, gnawing his bottom lip a little. He folded his arms up, slackly, more down by his waste than up high. He had no intention of touching it, but there was that stolen pistol tucked in under his belt and into a pocket.

He put a eye around the room, inspecting the other's breifly. "I know what direction the outside is, but not how far or what roads; long as we keep track of how many rights and lefts we take we should be able to get out on that." he tapped a foot. "Owle, can you ferry most of them a few buildings away one at a time? Or just drop them at the foot of this one if there aren't any uglies left in or around the building. From there...." he paused, growling. He didn't want to lose his bike, he was pretty much broke already, but... there was something more important to pay mind to. "One of you can take my motorbike and get that guy out of here," indicating Saul with a nod of the head, "the rest of us make quick feet straight aways out, and those with weapons can cover everyone else if we run into the need again. Anyone got a better idea?"

((Quick interweaving sum-up time!))

Drake had been standing silently near the wounded after he and Gabe had gently set down Saul. He breaks his silence and chuckles when he hears the unwieldy title the healer (Owle, was it?) had applied to him.

Drake: "I am a dragoon. Not a samurai-pirate-ninja."

He shakes his head sadly when Tweak's thoughts are verbalized by his shrill voice.

Drake: Hasty...always too hasty with this one.

Drake moves between Fuller and the wounded as soon as he states his intentions to kill them.

Drake: "My thoughts are that while hope for them lives, so should they. If they are beyond all saving..."

He lets the implications of his statement hang there for a moment before continuing in his unhurried way.

Drake: "But these are merely my thoughts."

As Kalis steps forward and outlines his strategy, Drake nods his approval of the plan to Kalis.

Drake
"I am a dragoon. Not a samurai-pirate-ninja."

"My bad," Owle apologized with a shrug, not taking her eyes off of Brody. She was too absorbed in her work right now to pay much mind.

As Fuller made his little speech about mercy-killing, Owle positioned herself protectively over the injured man. "I'm not leaving this one. He'll recover. There's not much hope for the other, though, and in a little while I doubt he'll even need your mercy."

But I'd like to at least try to heal him, first.

She glanced up at Kalis. "I won't be able to walk afterwards. But, yeah, I could probably do it. You figure just get them as far as I can the least dangerous way, then we all ride the main road together?" She nodded at this plan. "I can do it, so long as you've got a pocket big enough for a small bird and someone can carry my med-bag for me. Once I've gotten everyone across, I'll shrink down and rest in your pocket or bag or wherever, I don't care...I can still function as a radar, that way."

Speaking of radar...she paused in her work on Brody, her eyes getting a far away look for a moment. "They seem to have lost interest in this building, though there are still some nearby, milling about. We can probably avoid the most immediate ones by going over the rooftops, or at least gain a head start."

Well there went that idea. For the most part Tweak had been in full agreement with Fuller for two reasons. One, that s**t looked so painful that he was trying not to look at Saul. This did not mean that he was not considering looting the soon to be corpse the moment he got a chance. Come on, that guy had to have more weapons stored, always a good thing. Could pawn them off even if they escaped the city.

Putting aside those thoughts for now he shrugged. "So we're dragging them along eh? Fine, but someone else can deal with dragging that," Apparently Saul had downgraded into a 'that' at this point, only worth a flick of the hand to indicate him. ", along for the trip. Obviously I can not carry it and honestly I do not want to touch it."

With that little piece said he rolled his eyes at Drake and the new guy, Kalis, before turning attentions down fully on Owle. "I can carry your bag and all...not like I'll be much use fighting anyway. Cant say I'll be of any real use with it but I can at least provide shitty patchwork care if needed." Not like he knew anything about being a doctor and giving treatment, best thing he knew how to do was give injections, burn away tattoos cleanly, and pierce things.

Owle nodded to Tweak. "I just want to have it with me in case someone needs it. Worse comes to worse I can still give medical treatment if there's a lull in fighting."

Drake makes his way back to the stairs, almost casually despite the urgency of the situation.

Drake: "I will check what is left of the stairs. Maybe the mob has cleared up. If not..."

He gives a fatalistic shrug as he begins to descend, hopping over the booby-trapped seventh stair as he does.

"What the..." Kalis let out a long, frustrated breath, then shook his head. "Forget it all. Let's get moving already." he walked over by the two laid out figures, and bent down.

Grumbling about it a little, he slipped one arm under each's shoulder and carefully tried to arrange their's about him on his own while they lay, and finally, slowly dragged himself to a stand, havign issues supporting both at once. "Hmm." Swaying dangerously, he tottered with the two in tow toward the stairs, and up at a snails pace toward their potential escape.

Gabe had his attention focused on the stairs where Drake was going back down. He didn't exactly know why he was going to the ground floor, but he wasn't going to question his motives anymore. Things were too complicated as it was.

When he turned, he saw Kalis carrying two wounded men up the stairs, and not very fast either.

"Hey, wait."

Gabe walked up to Kalis, slung his rifle over his shoulder, and then picked Brody up off of his back. Gabe then bent over, placed Brody on his own back, then huffed it up the stairs. Upon reaching the top, Gabriel casually glanced out a window, noticing the parked Hummer not too far from the sealed entrance to the building. Maybe, just maybe, things were starting to look up for them.

"...That wasn't here before."

Gabe looked over his shoulder to Brody, who might have still been conscious. If not, well, he'd be speaking to him anyway.

"You know how that got here?"

"Thanks..." Kalis stopped to adjust the man he'd picked up to hold better, putting him over his back instead. That made it easier than helping two men who weren't moving their legs at all walk along.

Trudging up, he stopped short of bumping into the soldier man, and paused. Craning his neck a little, he got a look at the hummer out there too. It took a moment or so to process.

And a grin spread across his face.

"Looks like our escape plan just got a whole lot simpler."

Saul, still totally unconscious/in a coma, let out a short drawling moan followed closely by a gurgle as more blood rolled out of his mouth from his lungs. Being utterly fubar was a b***h like that. Basically with the impacts he experienced it was like he was hit by a car.

More like six, specifically.

Downstairs there would just be parts of zombies. One shredded, gore-covered stair case and a whole lot of empty space. Wandering corpses went elsewhere.

Last call for human brains at the appartment complex.

Following Kalis and the soldier up the stairs, Owle glanced out the window to see what they were staring at, and inwardly cringed. Not a car...she hated vehicles of all kinds.

...maybe she should just fly out. But she couldn't leave Kalis alone...

Drake examines the now zombie-free ground floor with what appears to be apprehension on his face. He turns and shouts up the stairs:

Drake: "It looks as though we are safe for the moment."

Drake doesn't like to trust appearences, however. These things were clever, and it wouldn't surprise him if a guard had been left to observe the building. So it is with cautious tread that he jumps from the landing to the floor, a metallic clanking and a thud of his heels on wood marking his landing.

He kept to the back as much as he could. Gabe, Drake, Owle, and Kalis made an exit and he followed only then. Still he kept his guard up mostly due to the fact that Fuller was, at least for the moment, behind him and thus out of his sight. Not a comforting feeling to realize that he had made himself the last person to ditch the psychopath, worse yet the knowledge that this guy would probably be following them down the stairs.

As a precautionary measure he kept the shotgun in a tight grip and leveled. Really it might have freaked Owle out if she had glanced back really quick. I mean, she pretty much had a shotgun pointed right at her back from a distance thanks to the whole stairs effect. Tweak's attention was obviously behind him though, watching Fuller like a hawk for the guy to try and kill him off.

And then Drake called up.

"Lets ditch him, what you ******** think?" Open and honest opinion going on there. Guy seemed entirely too stiff for Tweak's taste. Would probably snap and try and kill them off or something. The ones with a stick shoved up did tend to go psycho first, more of that glorious street experience at work.
