She purred loudly at Kiu's affections towards her before she buried her head within his mane. "I am fine, and so are the cubs." She smiled gratefully at him. "It's not you I worry about, but your father. He has already warned me about the water and his threat won't be forgotten." She stated. "But I am fine at the moment." She smiled and moved over enough on the rock to allow Kiu room to lay next to her. The thought that kept wandering through her mind finally broke loose, ending the sweet silence betweent hem. "What will we tell the pride once the cubs are born? I don't think anyone has noticed and if they did they didn't say anything. Will they approve of us?" She looked at him. "And I won't allow them to hurt our cubs." She added a bit more forecefully then she intended.

Kiu smiled reassuringly, looking her straight in the eye. “I wouldn’t worry, to be honest. You are, after all, noble. You are one of the blood. No more requirements need to be met for the approval of the pride and for the approval of my father. My treacherous sister, Jua, had cubs with a rogue. Now, that was bad. . . It’d be even worse if she had given birth to the cubs of a Mistweaver.” (As usual, Kiu spat out the name as if to rid his mouth of a foul taste). “Don’t fret over it, Kinja. Since you’re one of the blood, my father will not care in the slightest.”
Grinning, Kiu looked into the water. “How many do you think that there will be?” he asked, posing the question to himself rather than to Kinja. “Is there some innate way of knowing how many cubs a lioness will have before she has them? I think there will be a male,” he said in a musing tone. “At least one. Maybe two. I wonder what they will look like. . . More like you, or me?”

( << *lightbulb* perhaps we should try to have the cubs find some water.. i'm sure they're thirsty by now.)
Wokovu crawed out from under the other cub, shaking the sand out of his coat and panting a bit.. it sure was getting hot.. "mom i'm thirsty.." he whined now realizing his dry throat.
Yakuti blinked looking up at this "well.. i guess we should find some water then?" she shifted to her feet looking at her new.. pack memeber i guess. she wasn't used to it.. fennec foxes barely enteracted with one another, and now she had a cheeta at her side. But still she looked at the taller animal for advice..

A pang of guilt raced through her when Kiu spoke of her being noble and of the blood. She quickly pushed that feeling though, she didn't want Kiu to suspect anything.
Kinja chuckled at her mates words. "I am not sure." She layed her head against his neck. "I am sure they'll be just like you though." She closed her eyes momentarily and sighed deeply. This is what she traveled for the Firekin lands for, this is what she had wanted since she had met Kiu and she didn't want for it to ever end.

Taka stretched her limbs and shook out her tail, nodding in agreement as a she felt how dry her mouth was. "That would probably be good.." She raised her head once again to survey and smell if any water was near, smelling only a very faint bit of water towards the Firekin territory. Teule licked his lips and sat near his brother and Jasi, parched but uncomplaining.
"It's a bit far, but we should be able to make it their soon enough.."

Makadari let a low growl escape his fanged maw angrily. Kitwana was gone, leaving the King of the Blood without the pleasure of slowly beating him to death for his infringement upon Firekin laws: that no member of the pride was to hunt without bringing his or her kill back for the rest of the pride. His gluttony had sentanced him to death, and he'd fled before Makadari could act on that sentance.
He stormed from the pride, letting the rational part of his mind act, and the irrational part think. It was better that he vent outside of the pridal dens, lest he become so violent that more of his subjects fall under his claws...
The King made his way futher into the desert. He was rapidly approaching the odd "family" of felines, though he wasn't aware of it -- he was upwind of them, and therefore could not scent them.

Yakuti nodded and stood "Far is better than no water.." she however was doing fine from the yummy moist bugs she had just eaten.. yay bugs.
Wokovu stood with his mother, claws flexing in the sand just for fun. "To the water!" he declayred trying to make this boring trip to a pool of water seem more fun.

Walii watched her brother go, her tail twitching. This was too much. First Jua's treachery, and now slaves - slaves! - felt they had the right to take kills in Firekin lands...
What was happening here? Was the goddess abandoning them? If we have fallen out of her favor, we MUST find out why and make amends, the lioness resolved. Perhaps Jua's actions had prompted greater anger, and the sacrifice of her body and those of the cubs was not great enough to appease...
Walii snarled under her breath. She did everything right and yet she lost her cubs, lost her neice, lost her kill. Her paws slammed into the sand with unneeded roughness.
Overhead, she saw the shadow of a bird, and roared.

Teule smirked and let out a weak roar to go with his brother's cry, pushing his chest forward in a proud stance. Taka cocked her head as she smelt the wind, losing the scent of the water becasue of the wind's direction. "Yaku, might you direct us? I know foxes have better noses and mines getting stuffed up with sand."

Wokovu jumped when his ears picked up a roar next to him, but soon after he imitated his brothers pose and roared alongside him, trying to get the louder, better roar.
yakuti nodded sniffing, her tiny well designed nose picking up alot of the scents around, ofcourse the hint of water still there but also.. "a lion?" she blinked questioning no one in paticular and looked, ears fully erect, to the direction where the firekin's current king was.

Jasi joined the two in roaring, thinking they must look silly. She pawed at the sand and began sniffing the air, to see if she could pick up the scent also.Jasi looked strangly at Yakuti. A lion? How could there be a lion here, she handt seen any for months. "Maybe it was just one of us, Yakati." she siad gesturing to the other two.

Teules head tilted to the side, wondering if it was the lion that had a met that one time. Taka frowned, using her excellent vision to see if she could possibly see anything. Nothing unusual, though. Unfortunately, her eyes only picked up the color of red which she had dismissed as rocks. Teule blinked, trying to see like his mothe but only ended up hurting his eyes.
"I don't see anything...perhaps we best keep moving though?"

Yakuti shifted uncomfortably but nodded "Maybe.. i'm just smelling things." she turned heading twards the faint smell of water, atleast it was in the oposite direction form the smell of the lion. Her ears flicked in thought.. "It does smell a bit like Teule and wokovu.." she tilted her head to the side.
Wokovu grinned and followed, somehow thinking their roaring was intimidating. "Well if it was a lion we probably scared him away." the small boasts of a young male lion cub..

Jasi grinned and pulled at his ear. "Yea I bet if that big old adult lion came around, he'd run away with his tail between his legs at the sight of us."She could finnaly see the water, on a little ways off. "Hey guys, race you to the water!" she began at full speed, hoping the two would follow.
