Afro-sama stopped for a moment and lowered his glasses slightly, raising an eyebrow as he was making sure he was really seeing what he was seeing. Sea gulls were dive-bombing someone in a rabbit costume - or a half-rabbit someone. One could never be sure these days. There was one thing he was sure of though: there was a damsel in distress!
WOOSH!
A draft of wind blew around Madison, followed by the fluttering of fabric and a shadow falling over her. Afro-sama stood protectively over her prone form, coat tails fluttering around him like a cape. His fists were swinging, connecting with beaks and wings, driving the gulls back with squawking protests.
"Even if there were one million sea gulls, their numbers are nothing compared to the power of these FISTS OF JUSTICE!" Afro yelled out, raising his right fist into the air.

Sitting out in the open air of a small restaurant was Duc. He gazed out at the landscape and sighed. For once it seemed he was getting an easy little mission, though what it was he was supposed to do here was still up in the air. That was the best part though, he knew just as much as his handlers.
"Interesting little planet you guys found for me."
Leaning back in a chair he propped his feet up on the table, his sandal and sock clad feet pointing heavenward. Grinning he listened to the voice in his head:
"This isn't supposed to be a vacation."
"Well I know that Cyn; but until you think of something for me to do I'm going to enjoy myself and scout."
Duc motioned to a server and ordered for another round of alcohol. Alcohol was a universal product and still each place seemed to be able to make their nice little twists to it that really made it all worth while.

"A bottle of your most expensive bourbon, please!" Amazing that she'd managed to tack that onto the end of her sentence when it was rather obvious as the tiny little redhead came up to the bar. Her arm was gashed from wrist to elbow and across again. She was holding a deep blue towel across it, but it was seeping out and dripping onto the floor.
The bartender just looked at her for a moment. She glared, and then slapped the gold down. He then slid the bottle across.
"THANK YOU!" she growled, and picked the bottle up and took a deep slug.
"UGH! ACK! IT BURNS!!!" She squeaked and began hopping around like it would help for a moment or two before she just poured some on her arm, the stool, the floor, whatever was in the way of getting it on the wounds. And then she just stood there, letting the tears seep slowly from her eyes as she bit her lip and squenched her face up.

"Now that's a waste of alcohol."
Duc spoke aloud to no one in particular as he glanced as the little lady, shaking his head he went back to his drink. Bringing the fluted glass to his lips he sipped at the champagne and savoured the taste as it dried in his mouth.
"You know Cyn, these people aren't all that different from you. Sure they aren't any where near as soft; but they never really seem to lack for want."
"That's an insult and you know it. These people are barbarians."
Taking another drink he rolled his shoulders and let the front legs of the chair fall to the ground.
"Just saying."

"Well, it's better than buying two bottles of bourbon and I'm not drinking s**t water!" She bit off while managing to look more like a kid playing in her daddy's clothing than an actual adult as she hopped around trying not to react too badly to the pain.
Her hair appeared to be closely cropped with a bit of fly away hair, but it actually had a long braided ponytail in back. But she was wearing coveralls about three sizes too big that the arm holes went down to her hips. But she did have hips. They were just hidden. And only a band around her breasts. But at the moment, and forever after most likely, she just looked like a overgrown kid.
"So you can just take your 'Just saying' and shove it, Mister."

"Locals are queer folk though."
Now Duc didn't look all that foreign; but then he wasn't dressed all that normal either. He wore a light blue buttoned and collared shirt with lavender flower prints. Baggy blue jeans gave him some normalcy; but the socks and sandals kind of killed that. Not to mention his wearing of black gloves with skeleton fingers, or the black cloth that was draped across his shoulders that was far too light to be a scarf.
His skin, which was only seen above the neck was darkly tanned and he seemed to be constantly smiling a thin lipped smile as grey eyes looked through bluish tint glasses. Wore though he looked a bit like a punk with his short choppy black hair and piercings.
The only thing that dragged him back to being normal was the sword laying across the table he sat at. Though it was no curved blade.
"Recon Cyn."

During the exchange, Eria-lei hadn't even bothered to look up, too focused on her own pain to really look up and pay attention to who exactly was talking to her. For all she was paying attention, it could have been the bartender.
"Recon?" She finally looked up, bright vivid green eyes looked at him, puzzled.
"It wasn't me. I'm not her!" As she began to back up, keeping her eyes on him as she tried to figure the quickest way out of the room.

There was a habit he was going to have to change. People were going to start thinking him insane if he kept talking to the Mind out loud, or at least in public. Looking at the glass of alcohol, he had better, he cocked his head to the side and inspected it through the light.
"What's best to drink around here?"
Duc really didn't know and had really only picked the most expensive thing in the belief that cost would correlate with quality had not held true for him. Then again, maybe he just had a different idea of quality.
Bringing the glass to his lips he downed it all.

She was hesitant, but Ru'or had said she needed to be less paranoid. So she took a step towards him and pointed up to the third tier. "Depends on if you want to get ******** up, or enjoy the ride. Expensive s**t is only for deadening the pain, if you're going for taste go for Gaian gold label or Gambino Seal." She wasn't within reach just yet, but she hadn't fled, which said something for Ru'or's arguements at least.

"An interesting ride is always something to be enjoyed; but then losing control of ones self is also interesting."
Duc motioned to a chair at his table, a small round table that could fit three chairs comfortably and four uncomfortably. It was obvious that he was inviting her to sit with him. Mean while he waved to a server and made his request for another drink.
"Though it is said that alcohol is a social lubricant. Why don't you introduce yourself and we can exchange pleasantries?"

"Social Lubricant?" She spoke it silently for a moment, rolling it around on her tongue and then smiled. Somehow, she thought Ru'or would approve of that colloquialism. So she nodded, and sat down at his table. At the far end, just because she was that paranoid.
Even as she sat down, she fiddled with her arm, and made a not quite tourniquet and covered the wound. It was clean now, and the 'band-aid' would help. Alcohol would help more.

"So what happened with your arm?"
Duc was only mildly interested; but he leaned forward on the table. His drink arrived and he looked at it with a glance before picking it up and slowly took his drinks. Ever watching what it was his new found guest did.
All the while Duc ignored the voice of Cyn in his head.

She glanced down at her arm that she still cradled with her other, as she also placed an order for another drink with the waiter when he came with Duc's drink.
"Double shot Gambino Gold, please." and looked over at her table partner and smiled. "I was stupid and trying to get my scooter working again, and sliced my arm with the a busted hose that filtered the stone's power between the capacitors." Acting as if he should know what in the hell she just said.
"The hose blew, and I tried to jury rig it to get back to the ship, and moved wrong and it sliced right up, and when I tried to get up, sliced back down."

"Painful."
This was shaping to be a dull conversation. She just threw out lots of nonsensical details, details he was fairly certain no one cared about. About the only good thing was that Cyn had decided to shut up.
"So are you only visiting here too, or what is the nature of your being here?"
Duc was being rather inquisitive; but he was putting down more and more drink. So it was probably safe to say he was drunk, or get drunk. Truthfully though his body was only allowing a little of the alcohol to process.
