As McCallahan came into the room, he instantly noticed how pale the woman was. With wide eyes and a guilty expression, the man hurried to Annabelle's side and sat on the largest available part of the boxes. The bread, apples and mead in his hands would be enough to care for Annabelle for the time being, and more than likely have something left over, "I am an awful captain for leaving such a beautiful lass kept below decks.. hungry. I had meant to come much more quickly, but some issues arised on the top deck and I was needed. Please forgive me?" Fire red eyes became wide and seemingly watery as the captain leaned in towards Annabelle sadly. He hoped she would not show him the side of her that expressed her utter disapointment and anger.

As though he had been blinded by his worry, the captain suddenly noticed what he should have when he entered. The pink colored, swollen eyes of a woman crying. Lowering his brows in an even more saddened manner, the man took Annabelle into his arms. He felt a deep pain for the woman and wished there was something he could offer her, other than what she had now. "I apologise Annabelle.. As I have said, I can't imagine this is the lift you would choose and you are welcome to leave.. You are not my slave, prisoner and anything of the such.. You are a crew member of mine, but to protect your other crew members..you must remain below decks.." The words hurt to come out and although the man knew it had to be done to keep his crew from being infected, it was still difficult. A large hand reached up to brush a few loose hairs from Annabelle's tight bun. He did not intend to make the woman awkward by his sudden embrace, but the man was a very empathetic person and felt pained by the sadness Annabelle must have been feeling.

Leaning back slightly to look the woman over, he motioned towards the bread and apples on his bed, "Please.. eat up.. It has been far too long since you have last eaten.. I may remain in your company as you eat, or I may fetch you some supplies to make this cabin your home.. " Pointing down to the boxes, the captain offered an awkward expression, "You will certainly not sleep on boxes tonight lass.."

| ='D So cute. <3 |

Annabelle looked to her side, where the handsome Captain sat next to the frail woman on some boxes. She blushed further, and forced a painful smile on her face. She looked at the food, and her eyes widened. She let a sigh of relief escape her lips. Then, her emerald optics locked with the Captain's fiery eyes. They were brimming with tears! "Sir, it is not your fault!" Her face remained gentle and serene, the last bit of lingering residue from her eyes was now gone, yet her face stayed a bright shade of red. As the man lowered his brows, Annabelle lowered her brows with him, and looked away. It's my fault, Aiden. I've caused all this pain, not you. Suddenly, Annabelle felt the man wrap his arms around her. She didn't exactly know how to respond, or how to act on this. So she simply hugged him in return, her soft facial skin against his strong, warm, chest. Tears swarmed Annabelle's eyes, and ran down her cheeks. The weeping was so sudden. Miss Lee was not crying in pain, but she was crying in joy. No one had been able to hug her for years. Hugging was such a wonderful sensation, and Belle never wanted to let go of it.

As the man spoke about Annabelle leaving the Aurarius, her eyes grew wide. "No!" She said, hastily. "No.. I-I cannot leave. I will never leave." The pale woman said that bit a more gently, and even added a small smile. Sniffling a little bit, the woman brushed her tears away. Then, a shiver ran through her. The man was stroking her head! She felt so... weird. No one had done that since her parents were alive. The woman smiled, and kept her arms around the strong man. She felt so safe... So protected. So protected that when the man released her, she felt utterly naked and alone.

Finally, she snapped out of it and followed the Captain's words. She gazed at the food, and within a few minutes, she began to eat the bread and sip the water. Thank the Gods.

He again put a gentle hand on her forehead, deeply worried for her. Where was Penelope? This was out of this element and he was very clueless. However, uncertainty was not going to make anything better for her. Smiling he told her, "Your safe here, that might have something to do with it. Here, I have brought what I could find. Cook is not one of my trades." He chuckled for lack of anything else to do at that moment.

Holding the food out to her where she could easily reached it, he continued to wish there was more he could do for her.

Mariko did not percieve the purpose of the blade. She saw it, she knew what it was, but her disconnected neurons bubbled away, not allowing for any deciphering of the object to occur. She smiled brightly when she saw the rum.

"Aye, thanks!" she laughed and downed half the bottle in a matter of seconds. "I needed that...."

Normally it took a long time and very large quanities of strong over-fermented rum to make Mariko totter, but the stress of falling down and suddenly being caught by large burly men and not having any control whatsoever over her hand bought her down. She leaned, her eyes turning slightly glassy. A dull throbb started in her temple, but it was normal... Right?

She managed to mumble, "...And now it starts..."

Tia took the food and placed it on her lap so Tracey didnt have to worry about holding it. She looked at him and gave him a tired looking smile.
"Well if you every need something I'll cook it for you, though only for you I dont like cooking for everyone." Tia then nibbled on the apple she was to that point of hunger where you didnt really feel hungry anymore.
"Course I dont know how to make anything fancy. Just stews, cooking meats, breads, simple things like that, but I do know about wild fruits abit." Tia's mind wandered abit thinking about cooking for Tracey she had done it once already, but fish wasnt something she cooked alot of.
For a moment she thought about what life would be like if they ever settled down and she laughed abit alot thinking about it not that she would want to leave the pirate life, but it was still something fun to think about. She hadnt had a family so raising one seemed like an adventure to her. The reason she laughed more than anything though was she was thinking about such a thing and they hadnt even kissed or said I love you yet. Such strong and hard words to say and yet she hoped one day she would hear them from Tracey.
"Do you think Penelope will have something that will help with how hot I feel?" Tia was sorta at a loss of what to say to him she had said so much already and things just felt like a blur right now.

She looked so tried and she was warm, he worried so much for her. He had grown to care a lot for her and it hurt to think this could be something too serious. He would stay on the Isla with her or any port with good doctors if thats what it took to get her better. He had the doubloons enough; it wouldn't be wasting them if he spent them on her. He smiled at her when she talked of cooking for him. There was one of the ways she could protect him, save him from getting sick on his own cooking.

"Thank you," He told her and continued, "My stomach will also thank you for saving it any more of my cooking. Nothing fancy need for this seaman." Granted, the saying was seadog, but he wasn't a 'dog' at all. From his first time on a pirate ship, hearing stories of the gallows and how it was filled with the cowards who didn't fight, that he was a man and would die like one, not like a dog though he was fond of the animal. So from those early days, never did he call himself anything but a man. Almost in a joking manner he ands, "Thats also why I brought you things that didn't need to be cooked."

He knew he didn't want to lose him, and what was scaring him, was the fact that he was falling for her. Caring for her and going deeper in actually loving was territory unknown to him. He normally wasn't scared of the unknown; however, the outcome of this unknown water was known. A ship wasn't a place for children, not that he was even sure the captain would allow it in the first place. The sea called to him every day he was stuck on the Isla, it tugged at his heart and nearly drove him crazy to get back to it. Would he be able to stay on land, with Tia, or would the sea eventually tempt him away again? The only place for him was piracy, decent life, or even the life of a merchant just didn't fit in his mind.

Her talking bright him out of the thoughts, and he mentally chided himself for thinking like that. He nodded to her and told her, "I am sure she does." If she didn't, then he would have to talk to the captain about leaving the ship until Tia was better, it was too risky for her to stay if no one knew what was wrong.

Aiden felt foolish for becoming so emotionally attached to Annabelle, but her entire life story seemed to compel him and instantly he felt an urge to find some cure for the woman. If never Aurarius came across a way in which to heal her, he would hope that the adventures he could provide her, as well as the safety and affection would be enough to say her life had been worth living. As Annabelle protested against the captain's words, he felt more comforted knowing that the woman wished to remain on his ship and in his company. It would have been saddening to see her leave, especially when their last conversation had ended so horribly. McCallahan wished to put the two on better terms with one another.

As Annabelle began to eat, the captain could not help but watch her contently. She seemed so famished that the man felt a pang of guilt run through him once again. How could he allow his matters above deck to completely cover up the hungry woman below? With that though, the large dragon-kin stood onto his feet and began towards the door. "Annabelle," He said gently, "I must gather a few belongings in which to make your cabin comfortable. As I said earlier, I do not wish for you to sleep on boxes, lass.." His voice was much softer than he had used to speak with her before. The worry and guilt he had felt for leaving her had certainly turned into a sort of babying behavior. He felt he owed her as least that much.

Remaining on the same low deck, the man made his way towards the other end of the ship. This level was the storage and though Annabelle was on that level, the captain had made a point to constantly keep her door shut and to empty the rooms surrounding her in order to keep from the contents becoming contaminated. Approaching one of the storage rooms, Aiden gathered a latern, folded scrolls as well as a beautiful crimson quill and bottle of ink. He would like to keep Annabelle as entertained as possible for those long days in which work would keep the man from visiting. Tucking these items into a crate, the man continued to search his storages for any items that would be useful to Annabelle. Two extra sheets were also tossed into the crate before he returned to Annabelle's side. Setting down the box, he looked to her and smiled, "I've gathered a few things, though I still owe you your bed.."

Moving down below decks, Victoria heard the voice of Tracey, shuddering slightly as she knocked on the door. "Tracey and Tia, if you don't mind, I need ta' make a quick round on the island 'afore I leave. I be needin' new clothes since I ripped mine up after helpin' a lass," she explained, looking a bit upset.

She needed some warmer clothes and fast! Or else she was going to freeze her butt off this way! "And please tell the Captain? Oh, and I'll get some food rations as well. I snuck in there earlier and saw that it was almost all bare," she added, looking at the pouch where she kept her dubloons hidden.

"Oh well."

With that, she went back up to the deck, dove into the water, and headed to the island.

She really wanted that jacket now.

Tracey nodded to what Victora said; he knew that he had to get above deck soon since Victoria would not be there to watch over it. Looking back to Tia, he wasn't sure if he could safely leave Tia.

This area was not his strong point, he had no idea if staying would be helpful, or what in the world he would do if Tia got worse. Scratch that, he knew what he would do, put his lungs to work and get help. "Tia, are you comfortable staying here by yourself and waiting for Penelope? Or would you like me to stay until she can get here." What ever she needed he would accommodate. He would never leave a crewmate to suffer alone; it was not his growing feelings for her that influenced his choice.

Tia Laughed abit at what Tracey said.
"It will be fun to cook for you and dont worry about it Im just thankful to have something to eat."
Tia was the type that counldnt leave the sea it was her life. There had been thoese before that would soon die of heart break after leaving the sea. It wasnt in her to leave it so having an intimate relationship with Tracey might be out of the question.
Tia ate abit more of the food just about forcing herself because even though it didnt feel good to eat she knew it would give her strength.
She looked at the door as Victoria knocked on it.
Tia thought about what Tracey said for a moment beforing deciding even though she wanted him to stay Victoria was leaving the top deck and it would look good that Tracey went to replace her.
"Ill be fine Tracey I need to get some sleep anyways, just make sure Im not totaly forgotten." Tia giggled abit to let him know she was joking about the forgotten part.

Tracey laughed lightly, if she was happy to make sure he didn't get sick off of his own "cooking" then he was more then happy to let her. It is a talent he couldn't match. In a lot of ways, he was glad they could protect and help each other. If the entire crew could do was they can, then there was nothing, absolutely nothing they couldn't do. "I appreciate it, Tia."

Then he stood up and walked to the door, turning to look at her again he says, "Rest well, I'll make sure Penelope checks up on you, and I'll be checking up when I can as well." With that, he turned and closed her door. He hated having to leave her with no one to watch over her incase it gets worse, but his hands were tied. Once above deck, he surveyed everything and considered doing drills with the crew mates above deck. However, he couldn't do them loudly because of the sick, injured below and if the captain heard it, it might be misinterpreted as there being an attack or danger of some sort.

Tia nodded to Tracey's words on appreciation.
"I will Tracey and thanks." She put the food on the crate beside her bed before curling in the hammock she cursed herself for not asking for a blanket as she got the chills abit, but she shrugged this was nice is a way.
The hum of the waters creaking the boards of the ship had a sweet melody for her and the fact she wasnt sleeping crowed with about thrity other people was relaxing and haunting to her at the same time.
She was having problems falling asleep this time due to her stiffness of staying still for so long.
To calm her moods she begain to sing in her sweet voice.
"Dreams to dream, in the dark of the night when world goes wrong. I can still make it right I can see so far in my dreams. I follow my dreams untill they come true....

Come with me you see what I mean, there a world inside no one else ever sees. You will go so far in my dreams, somewhere in my dreams you'll dreams will come true.

There is a star waiting to guide us shining inside us when we close our eyes.
Dont let go if you stay close to me in my dreams tonight you will see what I see. Dreams to dreams as near as can be inside you and me they always come true." Tia didnt finish her song as the dread of the thought that the dragonkin her adopted father James may no longer be alive. He thaught her that song amoung others and the thought that she might have lost him seemed to hang on everyword of the song she sang.
Tia tried to get comfortable as she ignored her tears wanting to fall.
"Tracey will help me fins out what happened to James and I trust him in that.."

Annabelle finished eating her bread quickly, and waited for the Captain to come back. In truth, Annabelle was a bit embarrassed eating in front of the Captain so greedily. But she knew it would be rude to refuse the food because of something so silly. So she finished her food, and in no time Captain McCallahan showed up with a bundle of things in his arms. "Oh, thank you!" Annabelle exclaimed, rising from her seat to help him. Which was silly in itself... Aiden was a Dragon-kin, and did not need help carrying heavy items. So she watched him quietly until he sat down beside her. The strong man put the crate, which was holding all of the items, down on the ground in front of her. Smiling at his last comment, Annabelle giggled a bit. "This is fine. My makeshift bed will be fine for now. I understand that you have many things you need to take care of, Sir, and I'm not as important as the well-being of the ship. I'll wait as long as I have to for the bed, don't worry, Sir. I thank you infinately for what you have already done." The fiery-haired woman felt a pang of guilt hit her. She had caused a lot of the problems, hadn't she? "So..." She said, trying to start up another conversation. "What's been going on up top?"

McCallahan's Cabin: The room was messy, but clearly not because the Captain was a complete slob. There was a strange order to the chaos and it appeared as though the man had multiple projects going on at once. Scrolls with maps, words that appeared like spells and recipes decorated his desk, as well as a few others, all beautifully written in what seemed like some ancient draconic script. Without the proper knowledge of such a language, it would be difficult to understand. A stack of beautiful sonnets seemed to stand out atop the many other papers, written to many nameless maidens. Apparently Captain McCallahan was a romantic.
