Drachyench_The_Eternal Quick question, was it the deathwing that drew the most fire in your alliance? Well since he was the only one to spend any time within the Tau's effectivve range then yes. He definatly did take all of the fire. THe only firing against me was a round of Rail gun that missed and the Warp spiders death spiners.

Anyone here had any luck with Mechanized Infantry? I'd like to hear your thought before I play a few games with a Mech. Infantry force.

Sorry if I'm changing the subject but I'm considering writing an Imperial Guard novel and I was wondering in your opinion what kind of training would they take part in?

Unfortunately I'm not too up on my IG fluff, but they're pretty highly trained in general....I know in the older fluff they were actually the elite gaurd of the emperor (way back when space marines were just normal guys in crazy armor...)

Their training would be half ritual, half training as they are infused with cybernetics and the workings of the Machine God.

Last Sunday I saw a match with Orks vs. an IG mechanized infantry force. When I arrived, the game was more than half-over, but from what I saw, he unloaded a few squads with heavy weapons, but mainly just kept a solid wall of chimeras moving steadily forwards. He lost the two squads, but I don't think I saw a single Chimera go down. He also had a Leman Russ go up a high piece of terrain to keep the Orks from flanking the Chimeras. I seemed to work pretty well. At the end of six turns, all the ork player had left was a weaponless, immobilized dreadnaught, and his HQ in mega armour (the IG player had about 1 lascannon, and had trouble getting through the 2+ armour save). Hope that helps.
