DryCereal Everything after the part where House gets shot is a dream, can't call it a hallucination because he is unconscience. So all those symptoms don't occur, it's just House's mind playing tricks on him in order to keep him like that. No idea what happens to the patient in the end.
Yes, I'm sorry I called it a hallucination, that was ignorant.
DryCereal And House can't use those assumptions because it was just a dream and what could occur in reality can be a whole new thing.
Thanks, that was what I was looking for. So, yay! No popping out of the eyes or testicle-exploding!
Julia Dream It was just like, if you were to meet some random insignificant person then go to sleep that night and have a dream where that person actually has signifigance. House's diagnosis of an average allergic reaction was probably correct and the guy went home with a perfectly normal tongue, both eyes and both testicles. It's also why none of the symptoms matched up with anything during House's dream - it wasn't real, it wasn't a real disease that House could diagnose.
And the reason why House couldn't think of anything and started feeling stupid was not only because Cameron, Chase, and Foreman were all in his head and knew everything already, but it was also like when you dream of getting kidnapped or something and, despite the fact that it's human instinct to scream, you're just incapable of screaming. Except, since House is abnormal to the rest of us, instead of screaming it was.. diagnosing.
When House entered reality again, he didn't ask for the miracle drug - he asked for ketamine, which is the drug he was supposed to get while in surgery. He remembered that Cuddy would've, if the miracle procedure actually existed and wasn't another figment of his imagination, taken the procedure over the ketamine so he played it safe and insisted that, before he was to go under the knife he wanted Cuddy to know not to mess with his brain. Because we all know that messing with House's brain would cause nuclear destruction.
Wow. Thank you.
He didn't ask for the miracle drug? eek I'm such an idiot. I'm sorry. I totally thought he asked for it. So ketamine wasn't the miracle drug, it was the right one, the one that wouldn't screw up his brain? I thought he was asking for the miracle drug because he knew there was a 50/50 chance that he would be fixed, and the nuerological symptoms could be treated. You're right though; he had no idea if it even existed. My dad thought when House asked for it (he thought it was the miracle drug too) he had done research on it, just like Cuddy in his dream. That's why I was completely confused. I mustn't confuse drugs on House anymore, no doubt I'll go bonkers with bewilderment.

I hadn't seen the re-run they played last night, Let Sleeping Dogs Lie. It was amazing, I loved it. Cameron and Foreman bickering, the case was intriguing, and Cuddy had a bigish part in it. yay.
The new season looks amazing, can't wait til Sept 5.

OMG I freaking loved it!!
White text spoiler talk: It was great to see House running and drug free (well until the end of the episode, grr) and the Duckies were awesome. They wre like, "no!" LOL. That made me giggle. My main questions about the episode were about Wilson. Why did Cuddy seem to be consulting with him so much, why did he basically show House where he put his prescription pad, and why did he not want Cuddy to tell House his theory was right? I absolutely loved that Wilson's input weighed so heavily in this episode, last season there wasn't enough Wilson.
Oh and as a Cuddy/House fan, I squeed when I saw him show up at her window with her in that cute nightie. It just screamed potential fanfic!

I'm so glad that they reused, "You Can't Always Get What You Want."! I loved that in the first ever episode!

It was kind of weird they re-used it for me. I mean, it fit, but they'd used it twice before in another episode, hadn't they? Awesome to hear they used "Feel Good Inc", I was kind of surprised to hear a tune like that on House. >_>

They always have good music on, the theme song is just aweosme IMO.

I think the song fit either way. But last night episode was awesome. Spoiler maybe, don't want to give anything away to those who don't wanna know. He seemed so full of sarcasm and wit and just all out crazy!!! It was great. And Cameron!!! She seemed to take more of a stand against House
I can't wait for next weeks episode. The previews looked really interesting.

I loved House on a skateboard. whee I laughed so hard when he pulled out the needle and the yoga girl he was gonna stab her. I thought the part with him asking Cameron out was cute, i wonder if she'll ever reconsider.

I was so surprised to see House running at the beginning at the episode. It shocked me. I never really saw the end of the second season though... It was so great to see him actually walking. I guess if I couldn't walk properly for so long and then all of a sudden I could, I would be running around everywhere too.
I almost cried when the guy in the wheelchair (I forgot his name, but you know what I mena, right) started to get up. I dont know why. But it seemed like such a "cry" moment.

That episode rocked out loud! It was rather unfair though...It seemed like Cuddy didn't want to beleive House because he wasn't high...he was stable and nobody wanted to belive him! not that they usually do...but sometimes they just roll with it...ya know what I mean...jelly bean? You could tell his attitude is somewhat changed...I mean if you were almost killed...who wouldn't...he's still sarcastic and cool though...I mean skateboarding how cool is that! All in all the 1st ep. of season 3 was a sucess!

*Waves* Hi, I'm new.
I loved this epi! House + skateboard = awesome!
The part where he kept threatening the blond girl was priceless.
And like Morbid_Beauty said, it's interesting that now that he's sober (or was?) that they're all so reluctant to believe him, when they followed him almost blindly when he was high.
Also, I found all the stuff with Wilson really intriguing... and wonder how that's going to play out. Especially considering the previews of next week.

Okay, there are so mild spoilers tossed inside a lot of non-spoilers, and I don't think it's fair to white out everything, seeing how whiting out one or two words would just be silly, so YE BE WARNED.
My favorite part:
Cameron: He spoke to you? What did he say? House: Blaaaarhg.
The face he made was so hilarious. I was laughing so hard I missed the next minute or so after that, so I'm going to have to catch it on the USA network, since they like showing House repeats.
And I LOVE House when he's not in so much (physical) pain. When Cameron was threatening him and he was like "You forgot one thing. I can do this now!" and runs off, it was so playful and adorable.
And for those of you talking about the recycled use of You Can't Always Get What You Want, it fit perfectly. Originally the song played at the end of the episode and House was trying to walk again, to make the pain and the need for drugs go away. At the end of this episode he could walk, there wasn't any pain, and he didn't need the drugs, but it turned out that wasn't what he wanted after all. See? It's all this psychological spinning vortex of fate and desires and pain and whatnot.
House is so much deeper than we all realise. (:
