Taliesin glanced over at Selma. "What did you do today?"

She shrugged indifferently. "I finished the paper the teacher gave us earlier and then took a nap. You?"

Taliesin threw Nikiana a sour look before commenting, "Niki and I walked the city to get people to help with our papers. No one was very useful."

Parmida quietly came back from her room and sat down with the others. She had been writing in her journal again, like her matron said she should do. She had also watered Dirt again, and placed his new pot where the sun could reach part of it. She looked around at the others. "Anyone know where the library is? I've looked through the books in my room, and I haven't found anything related to the assignment."

Since the two girls did not seem to know or were too afraid to answer, the man sighed and looked at Manelin. "Do you know, 008?"

Nikiana The man winced as Manelin nearly shouted out the color. "And I'm not deaf, either." He said, waggling a finger at the rather energetic boy. He looked up as another girl joined the class. "Welcome, 010." The man pointed to a pink circle on the card. "Now what's this color? 007, 010, do either of you know?" He asked the girls calmly. Nikiana Since the two girls did not seem to know or were too afraid to answer, the man sighed and looked at Manelin. "Do you know, 008?" Manelin grinned happily as he sat up. Of course he knew! Hopefully the teacher would give a shorter version of his, "The color of clouds during sunset." He nodded. Sure, his color was just a tad lighter, but they were about the same!

Dinner was served, and the children ate quietly. Sometime in the middle of the night there was a ruckus but anyone that woke up and tried to investigate was shooed quickly back to their bed.
The next morning dawned overcast and cloudy with the threat of rain hovering over the city. Quickly the children were shooed off to their fighting class. When everyone but 001 had arrived in the room the teacher stood up and stalked to the center of the open room.
The teacher gestured to the four students to come closer. "Today, " he boomed, "you will participate in your first practice fights. Now. 002 pair with 003. 005 pair with 006. On my mark attack, ONCE!"
((The first to go will be in charge of roleplaying the teacher saying Mark during the fight. Have fun, if you have any questions, let me know. Once your character enters the fight please go to the Fights subform and continue in the thread provided there.))

((How many questions can we ask? What was the cause of the ruckus?))
Parmida was still grumbling over the fact that she had been sent back to bed when she tried to see what all the ruckus was about in the middle of last night. She hadn't been able to get back to sleep after that and finally got up to go to class. She winced at the teacher's booming voice; it made her head hurt worse. She looked over at Selma, her eyes watering, and made her first move.

"And...Mark!" The teacher started the four students off on their first fights.

((*grabs some of the text and hops over the the fight thread* ... *edits and puts in Manelin's stuff*))
Manelin slept soundly throughout the night; he didn't hear anything. He finally yawned, stretched, and climbed out of bed to face the day. He washed, got dressed, and finally went through his door into his matron's room. He still wasn't sure if he was thrilled to be isolated, but at least he wasn't having water dumped on him in his sleep anymore. He loathed water. Too bad everyone knew that. He gathered his homework together, and went to class. After class ended, he went back to his room to put everything away. Except the hat. Tali's blue hat. He looked at it, then put it on. He saw a few of the children go by, and followed them. Hopefully Tali would be going wherever they were going, right? Plus, he wanted to see what was going on. He blinked as their teacher told them to fight. What were they learning? He made sure he would be out of the way before he started to watch in intrest. But where was Tali? He had a hat to give back.

As the children started battling, the teacher caught sight of Manelin watching quietly. "You! Toddler!" he barked pointing at the boy. "Out! This is for the big kids only and I don't want their attention distracted."

Manelin winced, but gave the older kids a cautious look before going over to the teacher. He ran the words over in his mind, hoping he sounded much older than he really was. "Excuse me... teacher... but do you know where Tali- I mean, 001 is? I have something of his, and I was hoping to find him here..."

The teacher frowned. "The matron's said he wouldn't be here. S'alll I know, now shoo!" He turned back towards the four fighters.

Manelin frowned. Ok, so the teacher didn't know where Tali was, but he said something about Tali's Matron... He headed off towards Tali's room to see if Tali's matron - and perhaps Tali himself - would be there.
((Would Manelin need to post in Tali's journal to check into his room, or could he do it in this thread?))

Niki, a hard and very heavy sleeper, hadn't known about the ruckus in the middle of the night until she woke up that morning. Still grumbling that the Matrons wouldn't answer her questions about where Tali was that morning, the girl trudged on to class, only cheering up slightly when it was announced that they'd be doing some more practicing.
