(( True, true...))

"..."

No, it wasn't more of a help that Sakura is giving. More like a look of irritation at Snow as if saying to him - why didn't you think of that before?! But hey, magic or not, be it separate entity or not, it's still the same thing he's lacking in quality.

"Focusing the emotions..."

He got up, grabbing hold of the sword and flexing his body a bit again. Rolling his head in a clockwise motion around his neck, his eyes closed as he raised the Earthen sword above his head, in a quick Kendo 'Me-n" stance.

All right...don't think...

Feel.

The motion of air around him.
The flow of water around them.
The action, reaction, response, redefinition...

Slowly, the outside covering of the sword was beginning to show signs of water coating it, making the edges glisten under the sunlight peeking through the abandoned buildings surrounding them. Eventually, as the water began to seep into the Earthen elemental of the short sword, the outside was then showing signs of frost thickening under the hold.

Even as blood again began to flow down the wounds on his palms, the pain was less intense as it used to be, allowing him further compilation of the frost till the sword was now covered in what seems to be an extension of the sword's length and sharpness.

His eyes opened, his breath panting lightly as it was actually his first time using something other than the blood within him to summon out water at will. And, unused to the stress on the body, his body was tired from such a simple act, telling Snow that he'll need to practice more and build up the stamina needed to wield the energies once more if he wishes to regain his powers.

((Sorry.))

((Got distracted + Other evils))

=After a bit of effort to go over every piece, Gayt picks up one of the gauntlets first. He walks over his 'workstation' as it might be called. It's really just an anvil near the furnace with a bucket of water next to it. He reaches into his bag and shuffles around for a bit. He pulls out a single pellet-looking thing and sighs.=

I'll definately need Sakura's help to do enhancements.

=With another sigh, he tosses it in the furnace. He starts with a little minor detail work, but he can quickly feel the heat already coming out of the furnace. There is no fire, but there's certainly enough heat for metalwork.=

=Sakura watches, and she's glad to see how quickly progress is coming. This Snow fellow is showing promise to learn this quickly, but he's also showing a lacking. She looks at the sword and reexamines her hypothesis. With a smirk and a giggle, she begins to wonder if Gayt knows more about magic than he lets on.=

That's a good start, but there's something you're still missing. It could be concept, stamina, or any number of things.

=She places her hands on the ground and begins to concentrate. Soon, ivy and vines stand up from the surface and begin twining together. They form these humanoid shapes, probably some sort of earthen golem, as the ivy and vines finish weaving themselves together. Wiping sweat from her brow, she sighs.=

There. That's your practice dummy. Its the same element as that sword, so it shouldn't be damaged by it. I don't feel like having to make any more.

=She looks at the thing and waves. It doesn't do anything in return. It just stands there. She smiles, nonetheless.=

Just tell it what you want it to do. It can just stand there, like now, or move around dodging you, or it can even attack you. If you use an element, keep it water. It seems easier for you. This should help you work out the kinks in your technique...or build your stamina.

=She pauses.=

...or both.

(( Summon more evil! domokun ))

Well, things were getting more interesting. Forgetting the pain blistering his palms, Snow tilted his head slightly to the right when the golem just...stood there.
Doing nothing.

Sure, the golem looked just like any other golems, but Snow just had one question probing deeply into his mind, refusing to let go;

Why vines? Hell, it looked like the golem got a serious hangover and got itself raped by some tentacle-like things. And with those...things, hanging off of the body, Snow could only blink in stupidity before he took Sakura's advice and walked up to it, brandishing the sword still held in his hand.

"So...er..."

He glanced over at Sakura.

"I just tell it to punch me or --"

And with it, Snow felt something hard ram right into his stomach, propelling his entire body up from the ground and a few feet away as the golem slammed its entire fist into the body of Snow's. He was rolling and hitting the ground hard as he rolled back up to his feet, clutching his stomach with a painful look.

"Ugh..."

And with it, Snow charged at the golem's incoming attack as he ran to bash the b*****d into itsy bitsy tiny pieces.

((Me no want no more evils summoned gonk crying ))

=With a furnace full of heat, Gayt takes the first gauntlet between a pair of tongs and sticks it in. He starts counting down the amount of time it would take for the metal to get hot enough to be workable. As he pulls it out, he places it on the anvil and readies his hammer. He carefully looks it over before landing his first strike. The gauntlet weapon is similar to other types of weapons he's worked with, so it's not hard to get used to. Without Sakura, it would just take a while to repair.=

=Sakura rolls her eyes as she watches Snow. It's probably a good thing he didn't mention how the golem looked as his words would have gotten him called a pervert, slapped, and probably pretty well hurt by her magical abilities. It's not like she has a bad temper. She just has a really short fuse under certain conditions. Anyway. She finds it funny enough to giggle when Snow orders the golem to hit him only to feel the response. She looks at the earthen green sword, knowing full well the damage it could inflict on the golem to be minimal. Still. Sakura has her moments...=

Be careful there!

=She pauses as a smile beams on her face.=

That first punch hurts!

=She giggles...=

(( domokun Too late. ))

"Of course it hurts!" He scowled, already in charge.

Oblivious to the man named Gayt right now, all Snow had in mind was the idea to chop the golem up into itsy bitsy tiny pieces. Perhaps give it a small cook, and make some salad. But that would be trailing off topic, so...

Jumping up and giving a vertical slash at the golem's face, it was to be expected that the Golem would raise its arm to defend, having quite some confidence about the short sword Snow's wiel --

And then it hit Snow as he remembered what Gayt said before.

He was holding a sword with an Earth-type element. Which means it couldn't even give a damn scratch to something that's the same element, no matter how hard he tries.

So increasing the slash's angle, Snow revolved the sword around his wrist once before holding it into a dagger-like hold, using the momentum to then give a hard hilt smash towards the Golem's would-be liver.
However, it was to be expected that the golem would use its own element to its advantage. In a flash, Snow found his own arm sucked into the Golem's body and locked there, locking Snow in place.

"What the --?"

Immediately the golem began to deal a barrage of punches with its massive fists at Snow at point-blank range, keeping his arm locked so the fighter can't dodge the attacks at his body. Blood spurted from his lips and head as he took the blows, unable to yank his arm out at all.

"Curse you...!!"

Rage took over. A silver-tinted aura, combined with some traces of crimson colors emitted from Snow's body as he forgot about the pain in his body - the side effects on using magic. Immediately water gushed into the Golem's body, making the earthen element soggy and muddy as it also eroded the lock on his arm, allowing Snow to pull back --

And returning the 'gift' back to the golem.

For once he then pulled his hand out, he would punch the liver part of the Golem's body with his other hand, delivering an icy property right into the water-ridden golem...

Causing the water inside to freeze, thicken, and therefore --

Ripping the entire golem's body into tiny frozen pieces from within.

"....."
He panted, his face and upper chest heavily bruised by Sakura's Golem. Sure, he gave the order for the Golem to punch him...
But practice dummy? Hell no. It's more like a death wish for his current status.

Yet, so oblivious to the fact that he used arcane elements to defeat the golem...it didn't occur to Snow that his hands weren't bleeding.

At least, not to his own realization.

((I must apologize, again. Your dark summoning arts of evil are pure evil domokun ))

=Gayt continues working on the gauntlet weapon. There are dings, scratches, dents, and many other problems to work out. Each gauntlet weapon will probably take longer to repair than the two blades combined due to their shape and size. Nevertheless, these are equipment pieces that he is familiar with.=

=Sakura rolls her eyes. Snow was supposed to fight the golem for a while to build his endurance and stamina and eventually work up to casting magic. Still. She smirks. He's making progress. She flutters over to where vines, roots, and leaves that were once a part of the golem are now scattered about. She quickly switches to an angry expression, fists on her hips, as she scowls up at him.=

I told you not to use ice magic.

=On the inside, she's giggling and wondering when he'll take a look at his hands. It's amazing what can be accomplished in the heat of battle when your life's on the line. She hadn't really intended it, but she sometimes forgets how humans get, even though she accompanies Gayt all the time. Crossing her arms over her chest, she forcefully stifles a giggle while making sure to continue looking mad. She turns to the pieces of the golem and places her hands on the ground.=

You did good to do that much to it, but it's not actually defeated. It can be pieced back together. You want to keep practicing or not?

=Sakura really doesn't know what to expect for an answer. She has her own magical energies ready to 'revive' the golem. She's more curious as to when Snow will realize what he just did. She might even get to answer a few questions. Not that she'll necessarily know how to answer them. The way this human is used to using magic is different from how she does it and probably different from how he just did it.=

(( Of course it is. Why else would it be evil? domokun ))

Whether Sakura is making a fool out of him or not, he really wasn't having the attention to make a face about it. All which has just passed through his mind was the mere hidden relaxation of keeping his life intact.
Most of it in the process. Now harboring some bruises and some bloody wounds left from the Golem's last rampage, the mood to continue on the practice isn't a great idea right now.

Then again, perhaps it's the only time which he could really get to work on getting his lost powers back.

"..."

He twirled the blades in his hands once more.

"Bring it."

And this time, when Sakura brings the Golem back to life, he was more or less relying on physical assaults than the previous berserk mode he went with. Surely he'll get there soon enough - his last battle with it proved that it is possible to summon it without much side effects.

The battle rages on, bringing more hacks and cuts to the Golem's dull body - and more wounds to the battle wearied Snow. Only when evening was approaching did he finally collapse, breathing heavily on the ground and with aches all over.

Dried blood was crusted over his face and parts of his chest - remnants of the hellish battle which occured just a few minutes back.

=The doors to what Gayt would only call a make-shift forge slowly creak open to reveal his armor-clad form. Sakura smiles and waves at him...before he tosses her a small, pellet-shaped object. Her eyes go wide as she cups her hands and catches it before tossing it between her hands like it's a hot potato. She scowls and growls as she realizes both what it is and that it isn't producing any heat. Rolling her eyes, she indicates Snow. Gayt nods and walks over to the warrior.=

I'm ready to call it a night. Just about finished one of your weapons.

=He sighs as he looks around at the battle remnants. Gayt knows pretty much what happened. Sakura summoned a golem, and Snow didn't take it easy by simply starting with light training. He went right for the quick. It might help, or it might hurt. Either way. What's done is done.=

You're going to hold onto that sword until I'm done with repairs. You'll eat, sleep, and bathe with it as if it were your own.

=He chuckles.=

Well. I hope you wouldn't do that with your own, but that's not the point.

=He gives Sakura a glance. She smiles and glances in one direction. Gayt nods. That's a sign at least.=

I hope you learned something today. Things won't be getting any easier.

Sunlight peeked beyond the horizons in its red afterglow as it caught some of Snow's face in the light. Still panting, sweat beading from his skin, he glanced wearily at the armor-clad man with an inaudible grumble. No, he wasn't complaining, but the stench of sweat on his body is stifling to say the least.

"How long would it take?"

Another pause. The grimy hands went down to push himself off of the place he's laying on while he propped himself up to stand. "And why," he questioned with highly quizzical eyes, "would I have to sleep, bathe, and eat with this sword of yours as if its mine? I don't see any logic in stabbing myself accidentally in the guts while trying to fork some food down my throat..."

Even though he's sticking stubbornly to the issue at hand, his mind was wandering elsewhere, wondering if he could at least find a nearby river or shower to take.
For all he knew, he needs to clean the cuts and the dirt off of his body now...ugh.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 05, 2007 9:35 am

=Gayt chuckles as he walks past Snow and straight to Sakura. He places a hand on her head, and she scowls at him while pointing at the pellet he tossed her. He rubs the back of his head with an embarrassed look.=

Yeah... I think I used it up... Anyway...

=He turns to look at Snow. With a drawn out breath, he thinks about what to say; though, that's just the impression he gives.=

I don't mean to literally eat with it. It's no fork. I meant keep it with you. It's yours until I'm done with repairs.

=He sighs. The day was long, and there are only so many times Sakura can recharge that pellet to allow it to make enough heat to repair weapons. It's not good for forging, but it's plenty for what he has to do. He thinks on Snow's question for a moment. He doesn't know exactly how long it will take. He can estimate that the gauntlets will take about a day each. They have some fine details to work over and a clumsy hammer would destroy them. The swords could take a day and a half each. Though the blades are easy enough to repair, there was a lot of damage to more intricate parts that'll just take a while. With another sigh, he shakes his head.=

I suppose it'll be another four days. In that time, you've got to learn to use a blade in opposition to your element properly, or you won't be able to make the payment for me to enhance your weapons.

"Bah."

With heavy distress on his face, he lifted himself up from the dusty ground as some dirt clung desperately to his clothings, still befelling that rank, foul odor of sweat. Had it been any other moments when his powers were still available, he could've just cooled himself off and relax under a suitable temperature...

But nonetheless, no profit is gained without sweat and...um, sweat of course.

"I just hope that my powers are that easy to recover in four days..." He mumbled, peeling off the clothings one by one and revealing his shirt - then the undershirt, along with the waist band usually used to stuff his fellow blades.

"And if you two don't mind, I think a shower is a good idea about now, no?" He smirked with a lazy grin.

.........

(( Fast forwarding a few days later. >_>; Optional, of course if you want to keep it simple and long. xP ))

For the past four days, the situation hasn't gotten much better. All Snow could do was to used the Earthen sword as a catalyst to make his ice cling on, but the pain continues to seep into his palms, regardless of how much he tries to ignore it. Hefting it in physical combat is of no problem to him anymore, but the methods of recovery is still far far away.

At least he can sharpen the sword with the powers he has right now...

So there he was, again practicing with the Golem while using the weight of the sword to his advantage. Though it's heavy to use, the ideal method to wield it would be twirling and drawing the blade in circles - at least to circumvent and channel the momentum efficiently without bleeding too much energy and stamina off just to give a simple slash.

There he went, hacking and slashing while his bare chest glistened under the morning sun. A few scars could be seen dotting his front and back - most left by things of his past and some left by the Golem's dirty tricks.

Another dodge, followed by a sweep towards the Golem's right torso, intent to deliver hard physical pain by cleaving through the ribcage...if, of course, the opponent is human.

And it was another sunny day, with some partly cloudy skies dotting the horizon.
PostPosted: Tue Aug 14, 2007 4:24 pm

((I don't mind. It works to your advantage actually. However. I'm going to take "a few" literally to mean 3 for certain reasons.))

=Snow and Sakura would hear the hammering come to an end for the third day in a row. Inside, Gayt wipes his brow from the heavy sweat; though, he can feel the dirt and grime that has caked itself onto the bandages covering his face. With a heavy sigh, he looks to the gauntlet weapons he'd finished working on the first two days of his work. Beside them lay the one completed sword, and he can only grumble that he can't work faster on the sword now laid across the anvil. With a heavy sigh, he quickly twirls his hammer and places it back in the strange slot at his side.=

=As he steps out into the sunlight, Sakura tackles him. She might have brought him to the ground, too, if it weren't for that armor. As it is, she's just content to tease him, but she does scowl as she grabs that pellet. She has shown some disdain towards it being used up, but it's a necessity to work in a forge to which Gayt can't purchase coal and such to create a fire otherwise. He pats her on her head before she flutters up to sit on hsi shoulder,a nd he walks carefully over to where Snow still battles the golem.=

How far has he come?

=Sakura shrugs with a sigh. As she looks over the sword Snow wildly swings, she has to wonder if the point is getting to him. Maybe if he were to have more time... She knows they can't give him that. Besides, this kind of learning might be what's best for him.=

He's still got a lot ahead of him.

=Gayt nods. Tomorrow will be the last day he works on repairs. He'd probably let Snow have a day or two to rest before they have a spar, determining if payment can be made for enhancements or not. Of course, he hasn't yet told him the rules of the spar. He wonders how the warrior will like it. He almost chuckles before, instead, sighing.=

I think that's enough for the day, Snow. Unless, of course, you want to keep going. Otherwise, I'm gonna tell ya that I've got the first sword repair work done and am about halfway done with the second.

Admist the clangs and shackles which his sword is beating wildly against the damn Golem, Snow nearly turned around to exclaim his bewildered look of surprise -
But with a mighty blow by the Golem, he didn't have time to respond back to Gayt's talking.

"Kinda busy here!"

Another stab towards the opponent's limbs. He was starting to get the hang of using the uncomfortable sword in its Earth element, but with the element greatly buffering his ability to expel the power outwards, it was more or less like using a unsharpened blade against hard armor.
And forcing Snow to build up some parts of his stats, stamina and offensive powers were his primary issues. The more stamina he has, the more he's able to hold the sword and prolong the battle, as well as endure more blows in the end if worst comes to worst.

While defense wasn't his primary concern, nonetheless the battle rages on while he fends off a flurry of consecutive jabs dealt by the Golem. On and fro he swerves and shifts in his dodges, sparks and loud clangs of metal against rock heard before --

THWACK!

And with a sigh, Snow bends over, panting wearily with the sword portruding out of the Golem's head. Sweat poured out from all his pores, his skin glistening with the exhausting ordeal before he turned to look over at Gayt, brushing some wet red hair away from his eyes.

"You were saying?"
