"Hmmm...looks comfortable. What is the difference from wearing one when riding and not wearing one when riding?" she asked while tilting her head to look at the part where it is tightly strapped onto her stomache. It looks painful, but I guess I'm wrong again... Than the mare smiled and lifted her head. "You look like you're ready for war." Nodding. "Of course us soquilis are too when ever, but we don't realy look like it."

Chamain found that Awnae enjoyed her time chatting with the others. So she decided to come out of hiding. Everyone seems to be enjoying their time. Then the little girl spotted anothe girl standing there. Chamain walked over to Summer Jessamin. "Hey, my name is Chamain. Yours?" She wanted to make human friends. "I'm so glad there isn't any war so far."

Summer Jessamin nodded, "But even though the black snake is afraid of the indian, it's bite can still sting. So we should still be careful..."
Yeh you are right

The 13-year-old smiled at Chamain, "I'm Summer Jessamin. My twin sister, Winter Jessamin, and I live down by the river because we don't have horses yet. I really like your horse though, she's very pretty... I'm also glad thigs are peaceful so far. But something still feels strange about all this..." She sighed and looked back at Chandrika "I really do wonder if these people are hear for good or for harm..."

Smiling sweetly, she realised that Summer was 13 years old. She herself was only one year under. Although the young girl was to turn to a teen on June 24th, which was coming soon. "Thank you. I'm glad you like her." Pausing a bit to look at Awnae. "Twin? Wow, I would love to see another one that looks like you." Nodding. "I'msure you two get along well?"

"The difference is that my master doesn't know what to do. He'd fall off as quickly as he got on, and I wouldn't want him to get hurt. He finds food for me and gives me shelter when it's raining. We need each other, so I am happy to wear it." Arama blinked in surprise at this strange comment. "War? Oh no, I'm definitely not ready for war. War horses in my old world wear bright, shiny, heavy things around them to protect themselves from the enemy." She shook her head. "Now that would be painful. I've heard not many horses who go to war survive. I am lucky that I have a master that prefers talking over that." Granted, her master's talking was usually terrifying to others when he wanted to convince them of something, but at the moment he wasn't trying to be convincing, so it wasn't worth worrying about.

Nashota regains consciousness in the healer's teepee. She rolls out of her bed and walks around the Kawani village. Everything is so confusing...

Awnae tries to imagine a stallion wearing metal plates on themselves. She shook her head and the image disappeared. "It would be painful indeed." Nodding. "Well I'm glad that you're happy with your master. We thought that your masters treat you horribly, and never care about you but only themselves." Narrowing her eyes at some of the pale faces. "This question has wondered many, and I think you would know. What is the big smoke that comes from your area where you landed?" Awnae hoped that they weren't setting things on fire.

Summer Jessamin agreed with Chandrika, "Yes, he does seem to be the one the others are listening to and waiting for... He doesn't look much like a chief though..." She then turned back to Chamian, "She's very sweet, I love her lots. Especailly since she's all the family we have left. Our mother, Sweet Magnolia died our first winter, and our father, Strong Oak, disappeared on a raid when we were just learning to cook. Thankfully, the rest of our village has taken good care of us." She was always very thankful for her sister and her life, which is why she was always smiling.

Horrow to Chamain. Both parents gone. Then again, Chamain never had a family, or she never got one and wasn't planning to. The furthest she could remember was that she found her self in a cave when 10 years old, not able to remember anything in the past, the girl started to learn to live by herself. Not until she found this village and found a soquili to be her company. Which was Tetyawna, now she has 2 others living with her. I guess I have a family...just not one that other probably expect me to have...

Shaking her head, she smiled. "Well glad that you and your sister survived." Nodding looking proud of them.

"My master would be very silly to treat me horribly. He knows that I'm all he's got in this place," Arama said. "I came with him to escape that kind of master, so I am very happy with him." At the question of the smoke, Arama frowned. "I'm sorry, but I don't really know. I've been in the ship we came on, and then I was in a stable my master and his friends built for me. They were probably just building a bonfire for cooking."

"I've been wondering where my sister is though. She probably wandered off following a trail of pretty flowers or something. But with all this commotion, I hope she's okay..."

Two decided just as many had left the beach as had stayed. There were not as many as she had first though, but the destructiveness in their wake soon proved that may be a good thing. She wrinkled her nose in thought. Now she had to make a chioce. To stay or to follow.Seeing the day fleeing off towards it sunset, and given the fact staying meant another night of sand, she pulled her things closer tying them into bundles and placing them into the pack
Chaleha knew that meant they were moving, and she was glad.It had been a hot day of sparce water, and she longed for the river.Cool and clear, quenching her thirst.
Quickly they covered the distance beyond the dunes back to the coarse undergrowth of the salt marshes.Tall reed grew there, enough to hide Chaleha's full 17 hands in height. Her firey reddish copper coat shining in the bright sun.White markings could almost blind Two if she looked straight at them.Soquili were not like the animals with the newcomers.
Soon the soggy trek through the marshes was over and they had reached the more solid footing of the hardwood forest.
It would not be long now until they had reached the coolness of the river, and even if they crosed at the ford there were the pools along side and upstream. Two was thinking of those noce cool deep places as they cleared the forest and arrived on the bank.
What a shock,Two fell to her knees, and Chaleha began to kick with her back legs, laying her ears back.Never had they seen such a destruction on Soquili lands.
There were the carcasses of deer, all manner of trees had been cut.Fires continued to smolder on the bank. The newcomers had moved on,but this place would not forget them very soon.

am placing this in the 7th post in my tipi wink

Fire?! Apparently Awnae's reaction went wild inside of her. Then she breathed slowly and smiled. "Oh." Looking down. "Ship? What is that?" Awnae had no idea what they were and wondered. Why did these pale faces have so much that they don't have themselves? Were they blessed by god? Did the spirits give them this?

Seeing her mate come made her surpperb happy. Trotting towards him, she smiled sweetly. Then motioned Arama to come over to them two. "Meet Vibrant, Vibrant meet Arama, she is one of the pale face's soquilis." Nodding. Then rubbing her head under his chin happily. "They come in peace."
