“You think I would betray you?” Alasdair replied with a sore note, “If I wanted to kill you Rogue, I would have killed you while you slept…Or I would have killed you on the park”. Alasdair was slowly remembering the feeling of pissed off he had felt on the park. He was fighting the urge to storm off the room and leave Rogue to her fate. But he stood strong; he took his hand back and walked to the other side of the room. He stood against the wall, with violet eyes remained glued to Rogue.

"I didn't say you were the one that wanted to kill me, Alasdair, and I don't even believe you're capable of betraying me." She flashed an image into his mind, as her mind was functioning quite well...the image was of their passion...of a few moments of passion that they had shared together.

Alasdair got the sudden flash of memories. They were of Alasdair and Kaei, it was of their passion. A love Alasdair could feel, it was so pure and raw. Alasdair smiled warmly as he saw the memories. Alasdair knew he could not betray Kaei, he loved her. But Alasdair felt hurt that Kaei could even doubt it. He loved Kaei, he would do anything for her. He would have stood in front of the alpha, just to protect her.
“Rogue…I love you…But why won’t you open up to me… We share passion and lust…but I don’t know the real you…The Kaei deep inside.” Alasdair whispered to her from across the room. He was still enjoying the memories.

As he spoke her true name, a flood of her own memories flooded through her mind of her childhood, of her home, of her family...her parents, and the aristocratic society they were a part of. She felt the fingerprint of her humanity flare within her. "Hopefully I can know you as well...because we both go much deeper than passion, love..." She had a warm smile on her face but she kept her head still, her eyes opening, and continuing to stare at the ceiling fan.

Alasdair smiled warmly at her, he knew she could not see it, but maybe she could feel it. Alasdair walked over to her side once again. His warm smile remaining at his face as he reached her side, once he was beside her he placed his hand on her stomach as he leaned over her. He inched closer to her.
“Kaei, I would love for you to know me, to know everything about me: Alasdair Thares of the Kingdom of Aragon.”

"It sounds like you are quite important..." She grinned, her fangs quite noticeable. Her voice was soft, and almost teasing. "We don't have to rush anything, darling...we have all the time in the world." Seeing that she had almost gotten killed, might suggest otherwise, but Rogue was an optimist.

“Once upon a time my love” Alasdair replied to her comment with a tired smile. He was important when he was alive, but those years have come and gone. Alasdair only cared about Kaei now.
“We may have all the time in the world, my love, but there is no time like the present”, Alasdair chuckled a bit at his own words, he was probably quoting someone he had read sometime, or a conversation he had heard some day.

Alasdair laughed lightly as he guessed he was first to talk. “Well I guess we have to start at the very beginning.” Alasdair whispered as he softly caressed her stomach. “I was born on the year 1469 on the capital of the kingdom of Aragon. When I was born my country was fighting against the moors. So of course my father wanted me to go to the war when I came of age, so he dedicated my young life to learning how to fight. He had a dream that I would bring even more honor to the family. You see my family was of royal blood. My father was tenth to the throne, we of course would never reach the crown, but people still respected us.” Alasdair stopped for a moment to think on his next sentences.
“So I trained all my youth, and by the age of 21, I was already one of the fiercest fighters under the crown. So of course my father arranged my marriage and my two sisters where very jealous. You see my sisters, Anna and Emily, loved me. So they went to great length to delay the wedding. I never got married.”
“I was sent to the war before the marriage. I was sent to Granada to finish the war for good, so of course I asked to be on the front lines. The general had no objections, but little did anyone know I would never return from the front lines – not alive anyway.” Alasdair chuckled lightly.

"So...honorable and aristocratic. It does not sound so bad." She grinned as she spoke with her eyes closed.
"So, what happened after you were ripped from the life you knew, and thrust into this existence?"

Alasdair grinned as he continued caressing Kaei’s stomach. He was amused by the fact that no one had ever asked him about his past, but then again Alasdair had never cared enough to tell it. Alasdair usually found it tedious and worthless, but since Kaei wanted to know, he would oblige happily.
“Well when I reached Granada, I excelled on the battlefield almost immediately. By the first week I had already slain over a hundred men. They called me: ‘El Demonio de Granada.’ I loved the name of course. But that name would turn out to be my own undoing.” Alasdair took a small pause and took a few steps away from her.
“It seemed that my name attracted more than I bargained for.” Alasdair smiled as he began walking around Rogue’s bed. “There was an ancient Moorish vampire that got very interested in me. It seemed he was fascinated by my prowess on the field. So after the first month in Granada, this vampire snuck into the camp and took me away.”
“At first this vampire toyed with me, drinking from me from time to time, keeping me on a cage and forced me to fight for my life. After the first three months the vampire decided to make me his pet for eternity. So he turned me into a living dead.”
“He locked me on a cage for the next hundred years. He tortured me; he made me miserable for his own amusement. I hated Tariq. I prayed every day for power, power to free myself and go back home. And soon enough my hatred was answered… The void came and promised me power and vengeance.”

Rogue listened quietly, and listened to his voice as he was wrapped into remembering. His voice sounded far off, sensing through difficult days.
"A hundred men as a human. Quite impressive. We could have used you early on as a death dealer." She smiled slightly. "I was not so glorious as a human..." Rogue opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling fan once more. "And the void set you free of him...and then...what was in store for you, darling?"

Alasdair smiled as he saw that kaei had not fallen asleep from his tedious tale. Alasdair was amazed that she was actually interested. He thought it was like a bed time story, you speak until the other person falls asleep. But his tale was true, it was his life.
Alasdair was about to continue with his story when he suddenly felt all his strength drained. Alasdair felt disorientated and crumbled to the ground. He knew what was happening, the void was tired. The constant use of the void drained Alasdair, it drained all void users. Some users feel the drain with every manipulation of the void; other trained themselves not to feel the drain until they were thrown to the edge. Alasdair was the later.
But Kaei was in the room, he could not collapse in front of her. Alasdair collected himself and slowly stood back up, holding himself up by leaning on the bed. With his violet eyes he saw the chair he had tugged to her side. He dawdled over to the chair and sunk into the cushion.
“Sorry about that…Where was I?” Alasdair quickly replied trying to avoid talking about his fall. “Well the void gave me enough power to escape my cell. With all the hatred I had inside me, at once I searched for Tariq and killed him. I drank him dry.”
“Then I left his prison, learning that he had taken me to Andalucía, and that the world had changed almost completely. Spain had won the ‘Reconquista War’ and successfully united the land. Christianity had taken control of the land, and the Inquisition was being led by the new King of Spain, Phillip II. Spain was in a constant war against England and where about to lose a significant fleet, ‘La Armada Invencible’. “
“But none of that mattered to me; I just wanted to see my family. I wanted to see my sisters and my father, I missed them so much. I, of course, did not realize how much time had passed. When I reached my family’s land I only found rubble and ruins. I was devastated to see the disaster in my father’s land. With no place to go, I just moved around as a beggar. I later learned that my father was accused of heresy and taken by the Inquisition.”
“I was a beggar for five years, feeding on stray animals and people on the verge of death. I was hopeless until a man came to me and helped me. He was a vampire, an ancient Void Master. He was original from Japan, and had turned into a wanderer. He took me in and showed me what it was to be a vampire: he taught me how to manipulate the void, how to feed, how blend with the mortals, and he made me into what I am today.”
“I followed him for 150 years, until I decided to embark on my own journey. Then I became a lone wanderer, going from city to city, learning as much as I could, and meeting vampires, killing Lycans and hunters. I spend the next two hundred years wandering the major cities of the world, until I decided to travel to my mentor’s fatherland – Tokyo, Japan.”

Rogue tilted her head slightly, her neck and everything in her head burning from the movement. She figured the void had taken its toll, and closed her eyes and moved her head back, letting him recollect his pride. She spoke softly though, "Alasdair, the void takes its toll on everyone. There is no need to be ashamed in front of me...I count you strong..."
She listened as he spoke...his words tired. She had been to Tokyo, Japan, and had been taught a few things. The death dealers had used ancient technique, and some of their training had been done in that country.
"Japan..." Her own memories flooded her a moment, but she wanted to know his experience in Japan. "Tell me about your experience in Japan."

Alasdair grinned as he heard Kaei’s sweet words. He always tried to cover his weaknesses when he was with her, and she always noticed them and told him it was all right. As Alasdair smiled at Kaei, while resting from the void backlash, he heard Kaei ask him about Japan.
“I see you have been to Japan before.” Alasdair replied with a chuckle. “Well it was the beginning of the nineteenth century and it was almost impossible to reach Japan. I found that the only ships that could enter Japan where the Dutch traders. So I boarded a trade ship the Netherlands towards Edo, Japan. I had to pay the captain a handsome amount of gold, but in a few months I arrived at the Japanese port.”
“When I arrived I learned all about the shogun, the powerless emperor and the samurai. It did not take long for the powerful coven to find me. But in a couple of weeks they elder sent five death dealers to bring me to him. I, of course, obliged.”
“I was taken to an ancient vampire, Tokugawa, a former Shogun of Japan. He had faked his death so the peasants would not find out of his true nature. He was the son of Tokugawa Ieyasu. Ieyasu was the first Shogun of Japan; he was the one that closed Japan’s ports.”
“Well anyway, I was taken to Tokugawa, at first I only was interested in knowing more about my mentor. I wanted to know his past. His mentor only mentioned that he was from Edo, and that he could never return. So after I parted ways with him, I needed to know why the secrecy. So I headed to Japan, and once I was in Japan I asked the Elder why my master had abandoned the coven.”
“Tokugawa told me that my mentor was the previous head of the covenant, but he ran away when his son was named the head of the Japanese Hunters. I could understand my master, being the head of the coven meant having to deal with the hunters, even having to kill the hunter leaders. I could never kill one of my sisters, or my father…So I knew I would have done the same.”
“After I learned of the disgrace the coven felt for my mentor, my savior, I had to repent for him. So I requested to be part of the Coven to regain my mentor’s honor. There I was trained under the samurai. I learned the way of respect. Respect for my blade, for my elders and my coven. I fought my way to the top of the coven. In a short fifty years, I was already considered Tokugawa’s right hand vampire. I was also one of the top hunters and a very powerful void master –second only to Tokugawa himself.”
Alasdair stopped talking for a moment. His throat was dry from talking so much. With the void draining so much, he was weaker than a normal human; he even had trouble talking for a long time. But none of that mattered.
“I left Japan a few years ago…How long ago was it?” Alasdair pondered for a moment in silence. “It has been five years since February the 26th.”
