Ugu continued to push on. His long zanpakutou continued to slash forward, cleaving through the air with a tail of hollow blood trailing behind it from the just landed strike. The shinigami's fierce eyes pierced the few inches that separated his face from the hollow's bleach-white mask.

There was no way Manthius could regenerate in peace now, the momentum of the beast-sized shinigami had hit an all-time battle high. This could very well be it for Manthius, but the beast of a hollow's fighting spirit did not die. Instead, it's red eyes glowed and the beast went berserk, charging forward towards Ugu, blocking the slashes as they came along with his arms.

Manthius soon was able to hit Ugu from his position. It rushed towards Ugu and lunged forward, stabbing it's arm forward as well and rotating it as well to deal additional damage if hit.

Ugu shifted his body back to dodge the hollow's fearsome slash. Aware that the hollow was getting hysterical at the thought of loss, and how it was resorting to desperate maneuvers, the massive seven foot tall shinigami took a chance. He rushed into the blindingly destructive, yet ill focused, range of Manthus's scythes.
He bent down and positioned his blade to be right in front of himself. Moving quickly, the giant of a shinigami pushed upwards from the ground he stood on and rushed to hack at the hollow's underbelly. Following this slash Zenmaru twisted his blade for two quick flicks aimed at Manthius's bleeding chest.

Manthius took another blow from the 7-foot tall shinigami, but brushed it off like it was nothing, and swayed from side to side dodging the other two blows that were coming it's way. The hollow had lost it's senses, it charged forward with each passing moment with the intention to kill whatever was infront of him.

"Your doing very well shinigami, how long can you last? how long can you last? HOW LONG CAN YOU LAST!?" the hollow shouted uncontrollably, lashing out with it's scythe-like arms. The hollow soon began laughing uncontrollably as well.

The man shifted his whole body toward his right and dodged one of the monster's scythes. Manthius' following strike ripped into his flesh, though, and sent a small spray of red blood out onto the hollow. Zenmaru let out a cry as the hollow's weapon bit into his flesh, but did not let it deter him from the battle.
He ripped himself away from the hollow and charged back in. With blurring speed the shinigami swerved himself past the random blows that the hollow seemed to have adopted. His opponent seemed to have gone into some sort of berserker frenzy, and its voice betrayed it in its entirety.
With a grin the shinigami spoke, "When my sword pierces your mask you will be reborn." Suddenly he swung his sword toward the hollow's blackened flesh. Egeus blurred and left a trail of the blood as it zoomed toward the hollow. It aimed to cleave and remove the monster's tainted flesh, shifting then swerving on its path of destruction. Two more blows followed it, and aimed to do what the other attempted to do.

The hollow was near the end of it's career, as a hollow at least. The blood drizzled down everywhere, wounds were opened..wide opened. But the beast refused to give in to defeat. "Shini..." it said softly and laughed, the hollow's state of berserk kicked in again as it rushed forward at Ugu as he swung his zampakuto towards Manthius. Manthius nearly flicked the first two blows away with his scythe-like arms, but the third hit him hard. The hollow stopped in it's tracks.

This was the end for the hollow.

His sword's final blow ripped through the hollow's body, and splashed several litres of blood too and fro on the already bloodied battlefield. The man's piercing green eyes laid on the quickly disintegrating body parts of the creature, seeing it turn into nothing. A smile soon crept onto his face. There was no hell gate to take the hollow into its foul world.
That meant that, when the hollow was alive, it was a good person. That also meant that he'd be sent to Soul Society as a spirit. It'd also mean that he would be able to meet this guy again.. And maybe get another fight. Maybe.
A small trickle of his blood seeped onto his blade from a small cut on his hand and a small aura of green reiatsu flowed back from the sword. The cuts, bruises, and cracked bones belonging to the shinigami soon swelled up and reformed into their normal condition.
Egeus's blood covered blade was soon wiped against Ugu's soddened clothing and sheathed. Its length shortened, and its hilt tapped lightly against the sheath's wooden maw when Ugu shifted it deep into its confines. His smile remained as he turned to go toward the tree he had just been sitting beneath some forty or so minutes before hand.
His buttox plummeted onto the shaded grass and his eyes closed themselves off from the world. That hollow made him realize something that day. In the heat of combat he showed his true feelings about himself and he found that he wasn't as calm as he thought he was. Ugu wasn't the master of control or the calm guy that he thought he was..
.. So he began thinking, like he normally did after a fight.

After another moment of rest, of which he used to regain his breath, the lone shinigami stood up. He turned heel and began to walk towards the clearing's edged and toward the glistening white towers of Soul Society. A small smile still kept on his lips as he pondered the day's fights and turmoils.
