Yeh, they do that here too Jelly. smile

I've been asked a few times if I would mind if my hair was donated. smile

Weird to think there is someone walking around with my hair on their head. But a good weird. smile

i'd never previously thought about people donating their hair specifically for wig making for cancer victims, before i've only ever heard of poor foreign families selling people's hair just to be able to survive, and them using human hair for rich bitches extentions

At one time Tina said she wished she could meet one of the kids, but the response they gave her was pretty dissapointing. They said that the hair is given to different places that do the wig making that they wouldn't even know where it would end up. Kinda makes a good thing bad, but then again it is still getting to where it needs to be, so it's not.

You could possibly meet a child who has received a human hair wig as an example of someone who would have got her hair. smile

That's true. But you know kids at young ages. She wanted it to be the real person with her hair.

Locks of Love is the one I've heard of. I knew a young boy who had wanted to grow his hair long since a very early age, and his hair grew slick and black and sleek. Last year sometime he cut it to about shoulder length and donated the rest to Locks of Love. This same boy was one of two kids to come to my dad's birthday party last week. 4laugh

My hair is currently waist-length. I've thought about the idea of donating it to Locks of Love if I decide to cut a good length off. My hair is perfectly straight too, sleek and shiny, easy to manage, and has nice gold/coppery highlights in it. (Jade's does too! Only her hair grows mightily slow..)

Doh! Reading over my last post, I see I accidentally typoed "Locks of Love" as "Lock of Love," TWICE! What was wrong with me? I swear my mind said Locks of Love, but my fingers told differently. Anyway, for those who want to look it up or investigate, I'm pretty sure it's "Locks of Love." (and I edited my original post)

Rino looks fabulous! He's grown up well! How did he do at the kitty show?

He did good biggrin He won his class (which is what I was hoping for), but only got 2nd for Best in Show because the judge didn't think he was masculine enough rolleyes He's only 10 months old though, so he still has a lot of developing to do 3nodding

Was this his very first cat show? How did Mia do at her first show(s)? Perhaps he'll work his way up to a grand champion like Mia once he fully matures. smile Congratulations to you and Rino!

Rino's bound to become a top class champion, wiped the floor with the competition at his show last year, and let's face it, this 2nd place judgement was only because of a judge's strange ideas!
He's definitely starting to look handsome now instead of cute, he's got a nice regal expression in this last shot too 3nodding

you'd better watch out when Spring arrives though and he starts shedding that winter coat!

It was his first show as an adult 3nodding I did show him last fall in the kitten class, but the adult competition is much, much harder. And he's still a baby really, he was just old enough by a few days to be entered in the adult class pirate Mia did get a couple of 2nd places too when I first started showing her, Birmans develop very slowly compared to other breeds, and they have to compete against cats like Maine Coons, Norwegian Forestcats and Ragdolls that might be fully developed when they're a year old...

Meep, that'll be a nightmare eek xd
