Alec waited, holding his breath until he was sure Moreau was going to leave him be. He gave a huge sigh of relief when a long pause of silence reassured him and he decided to make due with what he had but resuming his feeding. Was it over? Would he leave him alone now, for real?
Sadly, the sharkboy didn't seem pleased with himself over his decision. It wasn't regret he was feeling but an ominous feeling of uneasiness. The doctor wasn't blind to him anymore. He'd always be on his radar. Even now Moreau's offer still stung in the back of his mind.
His strong hunger kept him going fast, eating up one and a half steaks in record time though a reason for his rapid activity was partially due to the fact that he could still taste blood in his mouth. Not steak blood, cow, animal. Human. Was it bad that he could tell the difference now? With another sigh he swallowed a good hunk of steak before placing the last between his jaws and sauntering towards the intercom. He wondered if Tommy was alright but he wondered more how Amaya was doing. Wiggling his fingers first, he punched in the right numbers and waited.

After her run in with Nita, the iguana had... mixed emotions. She had met Annie, but only once and that had been... days ago. Now all of a sudden she killed her best friend, someone she hadn't even met, and both of them were presumed dead.
She sat awkwardly on the edge of her bed, wearing the white fluffy bathrobe that had been supplied to all of the duplexes. The sleeves had been torn off to make room for her hands and wearing it was rather pointless, but... right now... she just had to feel human.
Amaya looked down at the now clean silver locket in her large palms, clicking the only sound reverberating throughout her room as it opened and closed - opened and closed. The picture of a happy family flashing before her like some kind of old family vacation slideshow.
Her mind wandered far, most of the time on the past and future. How things would never go back the way they were... and she'd die here. Die in a horrible, mutated shell of her old self.
Taking a deep breath she clicked the locket shut and ran her clawed digits over the rubbery mohawk of spikes coming from her head. Yellow eyes stared down at her finger-like feet for a long moment until the buzz of the intercom alerted her attention.
Her head snapped up and her tongue flickered instinctivly before the girl eventually made her way over to the device and held down the button to speak. "H-" Her voice cracked and broke, so she cleared her throat and tried again. "Hello?"

Alec faultered for a moment, taken aback by how horrible Amaya sounded. Her voice was always quiet but it wasn't hard to hear the emotion when one spared a single moment to really listen to the undertones. Scrapping his entire plan of direction for the conversation, the teen opened up with a loud and energetic greeting. She needed cheering up? Maybe they could cheer eachother up, because he really needed it.
"Awr-" He mumbled before realizing he had a significant chunk of meat still stuck in his mouth and continued on after removing it. "Aaay ye! Wha' ye been up teh? A' 'aven't seen ye messeh face 'round 'ere n' awhile!"

Amaya perked up instantly upon hearing the shark teen's enthusiastic voice. "Alec! God! I've been looking for you for weeks!" She somewhat scolded, letting out a huge sigh of relife afterwards. "So they let you back into your room?" She smiled. Maybe things were looking up.

How could Thom had found me easily enough yet I didn't see a single trace of Amaya for weeks?! Ugh, maybe iguanas have bad sense of direction. He mused quietly to himself, making sure Amaya didn't hear any snickering on her side of the intercom. "Ye-heh, 'ave been on v'cation." The teen chuckled loudly, realizing he was making light of his situation for the first time in a long time. His tone dropped in volume as he continued, still smiling infront of the intercom speaker. "Ahhh... well, hehe... le's say tha'... ye betteh come oveh quick befo' theh throw me ou' kick'n n' scream'n!"

Well, it was nice to see that he was making light of the whole situation. But... what did he mean by his last statement? Did he have a limited time in his duplex? Why would they do that?
But she wouldn't question it for now. He was inviting her over for... whatever reason. He wanted to see her. Amaya smiled, unable to hide the enthusiasm and happiness in her voice. "Sure, I'll be right over."

Alec grinned somewhat maliciously as an idea suddenly struck him. Assuming his conversation with Amaya was over, the boy was quick to react. In a second his arm shot out to jam on the buttons that buzzed Amaya on the other side of the intercom. "WAI'! WAI'!" He barked quickly, trying to stop from laughing. The results of his actions produced a rather garbled transmission as well, which didn't help. "BRIN' DRINKS!"
Aprroximately ten seconds afterwards Amaya would hear another buzz from her intercom. "AN' FOOD.... No steak..."

Amaya began removing the bathrobe. No use wearing it now - a giant iguana in a fuzzy bathrobe looked too comical. Though before she could leave, two more requests were barked through the intercom. She raised her brow and went back to it, pressing the button.
"That everything?"

"Shucks!" Alec cackled a laugh before cutting off.
Now to invite some people over. Time to see the maximum capacity of a single duplex. The teen, still focused on the intercom, did the first thing that came to mind as a method to contact as many people in the shortest time humanly possible. He began jamming the buttons once again, only this time in random orders so that it was impossible to tell exactly who he was talking to at any moment in time. The grumpy/drowsy/confused victims heard something that sounded like "Party", "41" accompanied by some random and incomprehensible jargon. This was fun, why hadn't he thought of doing this before?

Meanwhile, the lizard had obtained a bag and slowly made her way to the cafeteria. The nights were getting cooler, so her movements were a lot more sluggish.
She stuffed the bag with fizzy drinks, water, and tons of snack foods. She didn't really like any of them, but hopefully Alec still had a more diverse pallet then she did. Wasn't like she would be doing any eating anyway.
Yes, tonight would be fun. She walked back towards Alec's duplex and then knocked on the door.

Before he opened the door Amaya could hear the music, muffled by the barrier. Though it wasn't loud enough to drown out her knocking, it could definetly be heard from upstairs. The door swung open finally, a rather dishevelled and partially tenderized sharkboy standing in the threshold with a rather cheerful look on his face. A chaming contrast to the marbled bruises blotching his grey skin. "Ay!" Alec smiled and stepped to the side to allow Amaya to come in.
Luckily he'd had the decency to kick some of the piles of clothes on the floor to the sides of the room though now the place was 'decorated' with steamers of all of things, toilet paper. He'd even found a spare bottle of vodka in his minifridge.

Thankfully, Amaya's hearing wasn't exactly the best so the music didn't bother her as much as it would some of the other islanders. She smiled at him and walked in, holding out the bag full of food and drinks in the process.
Alec hadn't seen her in the two weeks or so he had been gone, and since then the iguana had become very... colourful, her entire body now a rusty orange instead of the usual dark green - though the black bands and stripes still decorated her scales.
Yellow gaze looked around the room, a nonexistant brow raising. "... I like what you've done to the place." She smirked.

Alec hadn't seen anything different when he'd opened the door, the same ol' iguana standing upright and awkward as if the person inside was never meant to do such a thing. Once she'd come inside however, he realized he'd severely misjudged. "Hehe ye, ye li-" The teen paused in his statement, havning caught sight of Amaya's 'colourful' new look. Immediately, he thought the worst. "'Maya, wha' 'appened!?" He asked, a little panicked. Had the doctor really done something more to get back at him? He never said anything about hurting his friends!
"Ye 'urt? S'tha blood?!" To his eyes her skin was like the dried crimson liquid he'd been seeing too frequently in the recent past days, but yet he didn't smell it. In fact, he didn't feel anything odd at all but in the state of mind he was, he was unable to comprehend it. As he waited for an explanation, he leaned over and rubbed at Amaya's side with his fingertips to see if whatever it was would come off.
