Jordan's response made Lawrence stare for a few long moments rather than verbally responding to him. So both of them were compromised, something rather awful had to have happened here, in addition to the strangeness of everything else and it was almost certainly not something that could be treated in a logical fashion either.

He was left holding Melvin's shirt before he could be entirely sure what was happening. He paused, looked to Jordan and looked back to Melvin showing off more skin than was at all appropriate and wrapped the garment around him as best he could, feeling somewhat possessive of his nudity even now.

"Melvin it wouldn't fit me, it'd be too big, I appreciate the gesture but put it back on."

And his laugh was the laugh of a man who was nearing the end of his very short tether.

Beaming, Malkam wrapped Mikael up in a big hug.

"I'm so happy I found you! Did I tell you that! I should tell you a billion times! You shouldn't eat so many of those in case you overdose and I lose you again," he said, and the smile faltered, battling against the general atmosphere of warm feelings.

"It's going to be ooooookay," he decided instead, "because it's Christmas! Where is the julbord?"

This, Lawrence found himself thinking, was why he'd been relieved to never get into caring for people rather than animals, it tried the patience and you couldn't just slap them in a muzzle and put them in a cage. At least not legally. He did like Melvin's shirt, he thought, eyeing it. It was pretty decent, it was just the only thing stopping the other man from being shirtless in front of potential suitors in public.

"It's lovely. Thank you. Merry Christmas." he said. "You should borrow Jordan's jacket though, it's snowy out there. Got to be wrapped up nice and warm at this time of year."

He didn't smile even a little as he spoke. "Don't want to take Santa's eyes out with your nipples."

"Oh, that's a good idea," Jordan agreed. "You can't get too cold, it's not good for you." He managed to sit up to start tugging his coat off for Melvin. Melvin was a great friend, after all, and he didn't want him to get hurt.

Lawrence carefully folded Melvin's shirt for when he stopped being completely insane and watched him help Jordan out. He wondered if he could somehow wrangle a switcheroo where Jordan was shirtless and Melvin was safely clothed.

Maybe with effort and dedication.

Holding the collar of the jacket, he pressed the edges together and hunches his shoulders as he let the warmth just soak in.

"Oh thank you!" He said. "Being warm is the best." And he embraced both Jordan and Lawr in a tight hug.

Jordan would ordinarily have objected to being pulled into this hug. At the moment, though, the feeling of bright cheer and holiday excitement was overlaying his usual inhibitions, and he returned Melvin's hug happily, not even objecting to Lawr's presence. He was still aware that he didn't like the man, but it was more like an intellectual awareness at the moment.

There was something wrong with what Lawr was suggesting, and Ferros wasn't pleased either, but he did have to find a gift, that part was right. Jordan frowned slightly in perplexity, and said, "But then I'd be cold too. Oh, I know!" He draped his scarf over Lawr's shoulders, looking very proud of himself.

Lawrence gladly added the scarf to his own pristine white one and gave them both a big smile. "This is the best Christmas ever, I do declare. My gifts for you both are back at home, too big to carry way out here. Santa will see that they are delivered to you though, mark my words."

He nodded. "And everyone's all toasty and warm. Though maybe we should scooch up a little closer for warmth."

It wasn't actually cheating, it was just messing around, right?
