Reemus is going left!

HP: 0/20
DMG:

He punched and tore through one thing after another, but Reemus was getting hungry. And tired again. He knew they were rushing to catch a bomb, and bombs were bad, but he needed a snack. Reemus made a note to start packing lunches for stuff like this. Ooh, lunch with swamp friends. That would be nice. Maybe Rasali would like him more if he made her lunch?

Reemus was lost in thought as he crossed some catwalks, unaware of some echolocationbeasts below. They soon made their presence known, though, swarming him. Reemus raised his hands while sinking to his knees, then curling up in a ball.

Too much too fast. And now that he was on the ground again, it was too easy to just...stay there...

Polair and Claud go UP!

Polair dragged her feet across the floor angrily and tired altogheter. Why didn't Claud bother to take her logic into consideration sometimes? She sighed as she felt him walk right pass her. She gulped, she couldn't be possibly alone! Not while she was blind of course, if she wasn't she wouldn't even mind. Polair slightly jumped as she heard someone speak to her. They had crossed these paths before apparently.

She nodded at the stranger and processed the directions she provided. "Thank you, I appreciate your help. Wouldn't want to lose time wandering about." Going up did seemed logical.

Before she trotted off she said, "Stay safe." And took the path Eostre told her. Hopefully she wouldn't get lost.

ROUND 13

Locations
Italicized direction is the one that trolls arrived from.

Quote:
Late arrivals start in the entranceway!
    Possible Directions
      Up, Left, Right

Polair advances through the hallways until they find a new intersection.
    Possible Directions
      Up, Left, Right

Scorpa advances through the hallways until they find a new intersection.
    Possible Directions
      Up, Down, Right

All the other trolls do not advance this round.

Boss Attack

You emerge in a dark open hallway. Upon closer inspection, you're able to see very faint traces of lasers flickering to and fro. That seems... Safe.

If you rolled a 1, you attempt to army crawl under a laser, and a grid descends on your body. It roasts you like a beefdog, grill lines and all. Take 5 dmg.

If you rolled a 2, you decide to run straight through in the hopes that "it won't be so bad". It very much is, and at the end of the line your burns will very much linger. Take 3 damage, and 1 damage each roll until a support power is used on you.

If you rolled a 3, you play a game of double dutch with a slowly moving laser, slipping up just enough to end up with criss-cross burns on your arms and shoulders. Take 4 damage.

If you rolled a 4, a quick assessment of the lasers gives you an idea of how to proceed. Unfortunately emergency protocols in the hallway mean that the more time you take thinking, the more lasers pop up. You're not able to avoid much of the damage. Take 4 dmg and deal +1 damage.
so
If you rolled a 5, you are able to identify some of the sensitive projectors that are causing the deadly beams to function! While passing through you give your teammates a morale boost by easing their path. Take 4 damage and deal double damage.

If you rolled a 6, a few athletic rolls and careful blows to the laser projectors causes your transit to be easier than the average troll. Take 2 dmg. Your attack does double damage.

Eostre Diazzi
HP: 0/20

Eostre did the best she could to get that seadweller going the right way, and wished her the best of luck (with everything, really), but she knew she couldn't just sit by idly. Even if she couldn't keep going on after this... she needed to try.

She made her way through the lasers, heavily breathing, and collapsed. Her legs buckled beneath her. She can't. She had expended all her energy already, and resting for just a bit did nothing to help. She... she had to keep going, didn't she? But there was nothing inside of her to draw on. Her body ached terribly, was cut and bruised. She had to wait.

Eostre dealt x damage to the Defense AI

The lights didn't seem to bad, in Claud's logic they really seemed harmless. So he suggested it was best for them to run straight through them and get over it. Pain wasn't that big of a deal and more compared to the things they went through to get there. It was a great seabear-tastic plan, which Polair din't agree with at all. But she couldn't say that as that would only make him mad. So she hopped on the beast and braced herself for the pain. The laser pretty much stung them in worst degrees Polair had ever thought she would experience, their burns and pains would surely haunt them in their dreams.

Ah, these again - Psykgi frowned at the lasers, studying them. Well, that couldn't be too bad, could it? She'd been through this before, after all. She stretched her body and readied her axe. "Well," she said, mainly for her own benefit, "Here goes..." She dove forward and rolled, feeling the lasers singe her abused jumpsuit as she did quite possibly the most amazing atheletic feats of her life, barring the whole thing with the walkways.

On the other side, she took a moment to catch her breath, clutching a pain - a burn or something else? She didn't know - at her side. Atheletics and daredevil stunts were fun and all, but there were only so many that she could pull off in a given night. Or week. She looked down the hallway, her smile faltering slightly.

When would it end?

'Fine! I don't need him!' Scorpa told herself, after making it across the catwalks. Her hair was a mess from the incident with the grill and the attack of a million squeakbeasts but she didn't have time to fix it.

This would prove to be a mistake.

"More lasers? WHhhhyyy?" She whined. If there was anything Scorpa had learned from the night's events, it was that lasers hurt. Pouting a little, she got down on the floor, deciding to try and crawl underneath them. She was small enough to give it a go, right? Austri wasn't here to help ferry them through with her wind magic or anything.

This is where the hair thing comes back.

The smell of something burning caught her attention and Scorpa screamed at the realization that her hair had bunched up in a way that it was taller than she'd expected. The lasers, sensing something was there, had started to move due to this oversight and within seconds Scorpa had a new appreciation for Flydra's profession. She was definitely going to need medical attention after this. Really, everyone was.

Defensive B Trinket: 0/1
Support A Artefact: 0/1

More lasers. Great. Ephias almost let out a bitter chuckle. Forget space tower; This was a terror tower, designed to main and murder. Typical of Alternia. He should not have expected anything less. Honestly though, at this point it was not so much a soul-crushing letdown as it was just tally mark under hopelessness. Sometimes he really wondered if it would be better to just nuke the whole planet, or unleash a deadly virus to wipe out all trollkind; do the rest of the universe a favour. It was only a passing fancy though.

Weary and fed up, Ephias barrelled through the lasers with a battle cry. It would not be until later that he would fully realise what a bone-headed move that had been, but for the time being, he was rewarded with sizzling pain and primitive regret.

[ Ephias does 3 damage and is going UP. ]

Psykgi wasn't so much feeling vicious as she was annoyed, but her attacks on exposed machinery were not nice that was for sure. Psy wasn't sure if she was really going anywhere at all, or if she was just wandering around aimlessly. She'd joined and exited many clusters (swarms?) of trolls, and had lost track of most of the trolls that she actually wanted to keep track of. It sure would suck if those trolls - those objects of interest and investment, those intriguing minds and useful blood hues - didn't come out of this alive. She couldn't think like that, though - she was sure most of them would, and would be all the more interesting for it. She, too, would come out alive. Wouldn't she? Of course she would.

ROUND 14

You can hear sounds filtering up, through the hollow sections of the space tower. Adult voices, and boots marching in unison - it sounds like backup has finally arrived! Their shouted words can't be heard, but maybe, just maybe, they're yelling words of encouragement at the trolls who helped them stay filled with morale throughout the entire competition. Or maybe they're just angrily fighting off bees coming out of doors.

MILESTONE ACTIVATED!
Distribute 50 morale.

They'll catch up, you don't doubt, but what if they arrive too late? What if, whatever's counting down, hits zero first? You can make it there in time, you know it. If you can just ... get back up and keep going ...

All trolls gain a second wind.

Boss Attack

A horde of dormant builder droids lie in a crumpled pile before you. It looks like they'll remain inactive (and out of their defensive protocols) if you're quiet, but as soon as you step by there's the ominous sound of buzzing that reaches your spongeclots.

If you rolled a 1, the pile rustles, then scatters. Small blue LEDs in their beady eyes turn red as they lock onto you, and begin to pursue you with villainous intent. One may be easy to fend off, but these roach-like bots with their tiny grippers and saws can do heavy damage quickly in numbers! Take 3 dmg, and 2 damage each roll until a support power is used on you.

If you rolled a 2, you pass by a droid that grabs you by the ankle. It releases a terrible high pitched shriek, and suddenly the rest of the group is up in the air, buzzing near your head with deadly razor blades bared. Take 3 damage, and 1 damage each roll until a support power is used on you.

If you rolled a 3, a welding droid zaps you right in the rump! It pursues you relentlessly! Take 2 damage, and 1 damage each roll until a support power is used on you.

If you rolled a 4, the bots don't seem to awaken fully until you're half-way past them. Unfortunately, you manage to step right on top of one, which buzzes pathetically and alerts its mates. Take 4 dmg and deal +2 damage.

If you rolled a 5, you slip past carefully, and the only droids that take flight are sluggish in their movements, eyes yellow. When you get them in a secluded area you beat them into submission! Take 3 damage and deal +2 damage.

If you rolled a 6, you alert the bots but manage to fend them off valiantly for your team! Breaking off the sounding alarm of one of them seems to jam their systems, and as they buzz around in violent confusion you bat some of them out of the air. Take 2 dmg. Your attack does double damage.

Eostre Diazzi
HP: 10/20

A strange noise beats through the building. The sound of footsteps, of adults and reinforcements. Eostre smiled. That was a comforting sound. The back up was coming, surely... they could help. She tried her unsteady legs again, finding them strong enough. Just enough.

They were coming, but they might not be fast enough. The countdown was still there, ever-present in her own mind as a reminder they weren't just here for shits and giggles. This was a bomb threat. She was going to keep going and see this to the end. She felt a rush of energy, enough to continue on.

Flydra Dromen tries to second wind and fails

"Not great, sweetie. We're in a bad situation." Flydra glanced over their injuries. Both trolls were in bad shape and their lusii weren't much better right now. She had her first aid kit with her thankfully but most of the supplies had been used patching up Lorata earlier. To treat their injuries, it would be better to go to her actual lab back home and use what she had there. The tealblood was sure they would live just fine but wanted to avoid worsening any injuries.

"I think we should stay put for now. Let me have a look at your arm." The pair of them needed to play it safe and smart now. They'd tried the reckless thing, charging around the building like they were invincible, and the terrorists had humbled them a little. Flydra hated the feeling of having to retreat. The sirens were supposed to be the best and strongest. She would not forget the humiliation. No one was supposed to harm Lorata, stupid drones were not supposed to hurt Austri or Scorpa...

"I'm going to bandage it for you. This part looks vulnerable and I don't want anything infecting you." Wrapping a bandage around the greenblood's wrist, Flydra gave it a childish kiss to wish away the pain. It wasn't scientifically going to do anything of course but such actions often had placebo effects with typically harmless or even good results. She wanted Austri's morale to stay up. The girl was a playful breeze and it would dampen the mood of the room should her spirits fall.

"I hope the others are doing okay. Lorata and Scorpa are strong but... I don't like the idea of troll-bots attacking them."

STILL DEAD

Austri nodded tiredly, eyes feeling heavy at her lack of energy. "Y-yeah. It's a little scary, but, I'm sure we'll be fine. We're the Civisect City Sirens, right?" A small, weak smile spread across her face-- That was right, and even if they were too tired to work for it now, she knew Lorata and Scorpa could manage. She had no first aid kits or healing items, unfortunately, but the tealblood was a doctor, right? They'd be fine. She was certain of it.

When the tealblood offered to look at her arm, her eyebrows lifted somewhat. "Sure~" She murmured, allowing her to look, trusting her enough that she wouldn't harm her. Flydra was cool. "Oho, thank you so much, Fly~ You're so~ considerate!" She giggled, looking the tealblood up and down as well, before continuing-- "You should~ Look at your own injuries too~ You're reaally~ Hurt!" She exclaimed, having half a mind to grab the bandages herself and help Flydra out as well. She did not do it simply because simply because Flydra had asked a question. She paused for a second before answering. "They're gonna be fine~ I'm sure of it! I'm more worried about you! You're our healer, hehe~ We need you! Lorata's our princess and helper, but Scorpa and I~ We're here~ To protect you two! They can take the trollbots~ I'm worried too, but~ They'll be fine~" She seemed convinced!

After a few minutes, he couldn't hear anything anymore. No angry squeaks, no flapping wings. Reemus opened his good eye. Nothing but him and the catwalk. Everyone else was gone. He could move. He should move. But all his energy went into his little freak-out. And his back still hurt. And he was hungry. They couldn't expect him to do so much feeling like that, could they?

Reemus curled up a little more. Maybe a few more minutes... Just give him a little more time, he swore to Woofmum he'd get up soon... "There's moonlight left, don' bother me," he mumbled to no one.

Amonee Brycer tries to second wind

"Just a little further-" Resting a few minutes had helped the boy recover enough to climb. It was not easy finding a path back up to the catwalks suspended above but there was no other choice but to try. If he didn't, he would be stuck down there. Amonee saw no sight of the other greenblood and anxiously wondered if he was still where he'd left him. If Nucleo had gotten back up, it's not like he would've known to check for Amonee underneath the catwalks or thought of waiting for him to climb back up.

The labor to get back up had winded him and so he took a seat next to the door he'd initially come through to catch his breath. After this, he was going to need a nice long hot bath with a good book to read while his aching muscles soaked. Maybe some nice smelling candles and an expensive dessert of some kind for when he was done. Drifting off into daydream, he lost focus on finding the bomb, still kind of messed up from his fall.
