Having no idea what to do but agreeing that the not so tiny anymore asshat needed to be contained, Connor attempted to help...though all he really knew about magic was from the crash course Chris had given him, what? Twenty minutes earlier? Well, could it hurt to try? Probably, but he also didn't want to risk not trying and lest he end up torn apart by psycho furry ********. So, he thought about what he wanted, which was to trap the beast, did the whole willing it thing, held up a hand and muttered "Hold."

"Ah, <******** rodent had become... something else. Something large and toothy and dangerous. Al took a few steps back. He didn't stop until he had bumped into the wall next to the vending machine. Now, he supposed, was the time to try out the power of will everyone kept blabbing about. He watched the faceless try their hand at combating the beast, but it didn't work. Their magic shimmered in the air but did nothing other than that. It was swiped away by Dee's giant paw. The rodent beast hissed and the detective, as per usual, had already sprung into action. "This would be a lot easier if we had some weapons." He said, pointedly and purposely in the direction of the mannequins in suits. Focus on restraining that little a*****e. Shun had said. Al grimaced. He turned his glare in the direction of the destroyer and did his best to think tethering thoughts. For some reason, an anaconda was his first go-to visual. He thought of one spiraling around Dee, locking the creature's limbs to his sides and making it impossible to move. Al grunted with the effort of what he hoped was will and not just pure I do believe in fairies bullshit. He thought he could see something shimmering around their foe, but he wasn't sure. It could just be the sweat dripping from his brow.

Theo tried to think of a cage or a leash or any number of other things he might use to capture an overgrown chipmunk, but anger and frustration stole his focus. This was ridiculous.
"Hey!" he barked at the faceless, pointing at the one who he thought had failed to restrain Dee. "You caught it once. Try harder."
He envisioned flames, the sun, destructive forces that might kill the creature rather than contain it, but he managed to rein himself in after his initial burst of contrary thought. He glared at Dee. Back to cages.

Dee snarled, tail lashing out as his body shifted and grew. His mouth elongated and the tail became tails that were twined around each other. For the moment he was the size of a rather large dog. "You're kidding, right?" he laughed at Connor. This was a different sensation that came over the young man, not at all like the faceless when they had touched him. No, this was something primal and hurtful. Connor would find himself shoved backwards into the wall. The faceless were putting themselves between those that were not acting out and assisting them. Their priority was clearly defending those that were within the room. Fingers brushed against Alister and he would, for a brief moment, hear the cacophony of their voices. Weapons are meaningless against something that can simply destroy them with a touch. His bindings briefly appeared around Dee who shrunk in briefly and then shook his entire body. They ran off of him like water. "Fledglings. The lot of you. You know nothing of this place and the only thing you have done is given me more strength! Your bickering, the harm you caused them! It feeds me." Something burned, flickered across Dee's ever shifting fur but then it was stamped out. Theo would have the sensation of something dark and heavy shoving back at him. Quote: for those wishing to help assist the faceless, keep at it! for anyone requesting an exit and to avoid combat, please quote whaler and state as much! an exit post will be provided for you! for those players that have participated to this point and written more than 500 words within WtOAD, congratulations! this will count as an event credit towards growth!

The destroyer was getting bigger. Shun didn't bother to respond to the creature's taunts. As he grit his teeth, he tried to exert his will to somehow stop this thing. Bindings with teeth in an attempt to catch onto its form more easily. It looked like their attempts had failed thus far, but he was not going to be giving up, here. The detective didn't know what this thing could do exactly, but it wasn't going to be good for anyone, really. Honestly, he wouldn't mind killing it either, if he knew if that were possible or if doing so wouldn't have worse repercussions than freeing it. For now, getting it contained was the priority. He slowly stepped closer as well, trying to make his way to get behind the beast.

For the first time since his arrival at the theater, one of the faceless touched him and he could hear their dull voice in his head. Weapons were meaningless here, according to them. But one's mind? Not so much. His bindings had appeared, and then were quickly shook off- but it gave him at least a tidbit of hope that he could actually do something against this beast. He focused on Dee as hard as he could, brows furrowed downward in concentration. He visualized the rodent monster shrinking back down to its original form, when he had been small and high-pitched and friendly. "We're not bickerin' now, are we?" His voice was grim. "And Connor made his amends with 'em, for causing 'em harm." He frowned at the beast, still doing his best to concentrate on trapping Dee. On shrinking him, weakening him. "Yer just a wee rat. They trapped ya once, and we'll do it again."

"Well, congrats, Dee. You almost pulled it off." Temperance had watched in abject horror as the thing had jumped off on Juniper and elongated, stretching in blackness. "Are you proud?" Temperance didn't like either side in this room. Dee, the liar, the cheat. The Faceless, assholes who didn't explain, who dictated respect without giving it in return. If people had just communicated from the beginning, everything would have been fine. And what had been the ******** point of the movie? Temperance ground her teeth together. She reached out to touch one of the faceless' arms. "So how did you contain him before, then?"

It all happened in a flash. One minute she had Dee securely against her and the next he was incredibly large and lashed out at her. She had no chance at avoiding the attack in her surprise. Juniper's feet were swept out from under her and she fell backwards onto the floor. Instinct was about the only thing that kept her from smashing her head any harder on the floor as she attempted to brace herself. At worst, she'd end up with a bump and a minor headache. But with the surprise over, Juniper was beginning to seethe. She stuck her neck out for the little rat and he did this? Gritting her teeth she scrambled back up to her feet. "Way to repay me after I try to save your a**!" She growled out at Dee. I am going to owe apologies now. This place supposedly worked on the will of people? Well, Juniper was ready to will her betrayer into the tiniest of boxes she could think of. It would serve him right after what he did. Karma could be a b***h. Maybe this was Karma for her with the Connor thing? Nah. "You deserve to be locked up if this is how you're going to act. Like a childish brat!" With no other idea on how to do it, she put a hand out towards Dee and squinted her eyes as she tried to envision a large steel cage around him as she exerted her will for it to occur.

Temperance would find herself not with words as a response but a vision. It was many faceless, many hands, that had caught the destroyer before. He had not gone down easily and several had been lost. We cannot risk that here, the voices finally speak, for you would be in danger.Dee continued to shrug off the attacks but it was clear that they were wearing on him, that it was taking everything to push them off. "If you call that making amends, then I wonder if you're really any good at anything," he snapped back at Alister. His tail lashed out at Shun who was trying to step behind him. "Don't you know? I've got eyes in the back of my head?" And, startlingly, he did and they were just as red as the ones that were facing the front. "Sweet, sweet Juniper," he crooned, coming towards her. "You're a fool, more so than the rest of them." Sharp teeth snapped her direction. "I'll save you for last because, for a change, I might actually eat someone instead of just tearing them apart." Quote: Whatever your reasons you've chosen to stay and deal with the Destroyer. (The option to leave is still there for those that wish, simply quote whaler with a request for an exit post instead of rolling!) You may try to restrain or impede the Destroyer - or you may (if you really want) try to help it escape. All players, regardless of choice, must roll 2d6. The first dice is the damage you take from the Destroyer. You take damage regardless of the side you take. - your injury's severity is least with a 1 and greatest with a 6 - the least your injury is simple scratches and some bruising, and the worst your injury can be is a laceration (bleeding and possibly needing stitches; it will scar). Your second dice is how successful you are at your attempt to catch/help. - odds (1, 3, 5) are a FAIL. - evens (2, 4, 6) are a PASS. Should you fail on your first attempt, you may roll one more time. You will acquire another wound. Should you PASS on your first try, you may not roll again. There MUST be roleplay dialogue with the attempt. Please quote Ashdown Whaler in your deciding post with your Action (Helping Destroyer/Helping Faceless) and your result (PASS/FAIL). The outcome will be decided by the number of PASSES on each side.

Shun was slightly taken back by the eyes at the back of the head, as the tail lashed out at him. It smacked him across the legs, causing him to stumble back a bit. Okay, so much for sneaking up on it. He brought his hands up and moved into a slightly defensive stance to keep light on his feet. Their efforts seemed to be wearing the destroyer down somewhat at least. They just needed to be relentless. The detective still kept his mouth shut, keeping his focus on detaining the beast. He shifted to the side, then made a grab for it, sending a small mental assault along with, trying to bring up rods or spikes on the opposite side of the creature. It didn't work out too well. He needed a slightly different approach. He did manage to avoid a harrowing hit on his own end, though, coming away with a very minor scratch instead. Juniper squeaked and jumped backwards, managing to barely avoid what was threatening to be a deadly bite if Dee had really put his heart into it. Instead, Juniper managed to get by with only a small scrape from the canines. Nothing that even pulled her attention away from their attacker. "I hope you choke on one of my bones then." She spat back. After all, if she was going to die, she hoped she got back at Dee in the end. a*****e. She attempted again to try and focus and will Dee into a box, but she found herself having one hell of a time trying to concentrate with Dee staring her down and giving death threats.

Lily was entirely content to stay back while the mannequins approached--it gave her time to focus on her breathing, on forcing down the impulse to be small and tucked away somewhere away from prying hands. But it was impossible to ignore the growing problem on their hands with the cheating chipmunk they'd released, who it seemed was less a chipmunk and more a hell hound thing. "That's cool, you weren't really invited to our part of Ashdown anyways," Lily deadpanned, doing her best not to look at those claws and think of Blackfriar's and all that blood. She knew she was a moonwalker, that she had some kind of sacred duty to keep exactly this sort of thing out of her world, and likewise tried to pull forth some semblance of bravery as she circled the Destroyer, trying to flank the side that Shun hadn't covered. However, the moment she saw those terrible red eyes, any will she'd tried to manifest crumbled, and she stood there with listless eyes until a thrashing leg caught her right in the solar plexus, sending her reeling back with the wind kicked out of her lungs. This was a lot harder without the rest of the Pack. Ashdown Whaler Attempting to help the faceless - failure

"Just so we're clear, I don't trust either of you." And she didn't. Magical creatures operated under strange, unknown and unexplained rules. And Temperance's fingers were still plastic. Still, with the state Dee was in, it certainly seemed safer to get him contained. The feigned amnesia, most of all, hhad her blood boiling. Releasing the faceless, she circled Dee and tried to find any opening to kick him But she hesitated. First, do no harm. And that was all Dee needed. Temperance flew back, a long gash stretching along her arm. Blood flowed freely from it, dripping from her fingertips to the floor. She forgot to breathe for a second. An unseen force had pushed him backwards, hard and his back hit a wall. Teeth clenched, he pushed himself forward again, limping awkwardly on his plastic foot, Dee's mocking voice ringing in his ears. Connor was more than aware that he was completely out of this depth, here. He barely knew what he was doing, and had no illusions that he was somehow strong enough to deal with this thing. But, he did note that the thing did seem to be wearing down, and while the thought that he could just back off and let everyone else handle it in an effort to save his own hide crossed his mind, the ******** up little furry had just pissed him off too damn much for him to even consider it at that point. <******** you, a*****e." He sneered, and tried again, this time envisioning ropes, something to squeeze and strangle and hold tightly, willing with all his might and anger for it to be, while moving closer, because for some reason he thought that maybe proximity helped make the magic stronger. Too close, perhaps. He was knocked back again, a tail lashing down on his shoulder like the crack of a whip, leaving a sharp feeling of pain in it's wake that tingled all the way down to his finger tips. ashdown whaler helping faceless - failure

If you do not first succeed, try and try again. Shun stepped back a bit, watching for a few moments. This wasn't exactly the same as chasing down a suspect and pinning them down. There had to be a way of keeping the destroyer down. If nothing else, it was outnumbered. Willpower was their main weapon, and they needed to be able to overpower his. Maybe in the very least, he could make it harder for the destroyer to focus on anything. Once he thought he saw an opening, he lashed out to try and grab its back. He felt claws dig into his side as he did so. His focus went towards holding it in place... and attempting to magically fortify his physical strength. "Stay down," he hissed.
