Optimist tilted her head as Neither Nor spoke. "I don't think that was the argument, though - I don't mind that kin switch votes; it's just that Kiss of Death's new reasoning contradicted her previous reasoning." She'd have continued if Kiss hadn't spoken up yet again. It was not at all what she expected to hear out of the doe's mouth - and yet she still didn't know that she trusted Kiss at all. "I know you're aware we find you suspicious, but you've made only a bit of effort to persuade us not to vote for you. Just because you're giving reasons doesn't mean they're good ones, or that they...make sense at all." She shook her head. "I don't know why I should believe what you're saying, or what that means at all."

"Besides, someone has died every night!" she finished. Who could Kiss of Death be saving? Why reveal this now? If she convinced the group she was prey acting in the group's favor and stayed alive today, she'd only be more suspicious when she didn't die the following morning. And Optimist was increasingly sure that Kiss of Death wouldn't die in the night - especially since she'd gone right back to voting for As the Sun Burns, as though appearing innocent was more important than helping the game along. She was acting as though she was doomed when only a few people had begun even commenting on her.

She considered Bare Trees' words heavily, though. "I think if there's a suspicious kin, voting to kill them is always preferable to killing people who are silent. But towards the end of the game, I don't want the wolves to win because they've simply been silent the whole game, if that makes sense. That's why...that's why, if you're prey, and you haven't been talking, please speak up! We all want to hear from you." She smiled. "I think it's very valuable to hear speculation and reasoning from people, even if they're not completely right all the time."

"But I do think that not all the wolves can have been silent so far. That'd be silly of them. Besides, Merry Wanderer seems to be taking care of quiet kin, too..." She shuddered. "In a much meaner way than I'd prefer, of course!"

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Apathy's tail switched back and forth, thumping the ground with growing frequency. She thought she could hear the flowers sing as her tail whapped against them, but no one sang back.

Personally, she felt As the Sun Burns had already explained his decision, but with the votes tied so closley against him the day before, she did not fault Kiss for wanting to probe deeper.

"Kin can take in new information, and change their votes without being two-faced," she said towards Optimist, Peep, and Neither Nor; a little defensively, perhaps. "It wasn't as if Kiss changed her mind out of the blue; she only did so after Watch had his say. She never said she didn't understand his reasoning, but that she hoped to explore the avenue further."

Of course, the fact that Kiss retracted her decision and voted for Watch again made the claim less reliable. And that the words came out of Apathy's mouth, rather than Kiss' own, would likely contribute to that, too. But everything Apathy had said was fact, in the best way she could put it. And, okay, she was maybe definitely maybe a little upset. It was true Kiss could have been lying, but Apathy doubted it. True or no, Kiss had made herself known to the wolves, and it was unlikely they'd let it slide for long. If Kiss was not predator, then, she would be prey; and the thought of losing a friend, game or no, cut her sharply. The flowers continued to sing.

"I think you bring up valid points," she finally said towards Optimist. "But Kiss' confession makes me hesitant to believe it's her. I'm not sure what being a dog in this game is supposed to be about—" Kiss had said 'heeler,' right? "—but it seems to be assigning too much power if they'd be able to prevent a death every night, especially since that's one of the few advantages the wolves have. For now, I don't think she's a predator, and because of that, I'd be interested in following her line of thought."

She turned to Watch. "You could've easily voted for Sun Sinks Down to tie the votes and protect yourself. Wolf or no, it was incredibly risky; that I would vote for Sun, or that Kiss would retract her vote, was something no one could have foreseen. For that, I think you innocent as well." Or, more innocent than he'd been before, though she wouldn't say that. He had been suspect for the past two days, and it could have been a risk borne out of desperation as well. "I find it curious, though, that you believe so strongly in Fire, to point of putting yourself at risk. I know you already stated your reasons, but was there anything more than that?" Especially now that the third night had passed. Fire had some ties to Watch the Skies and Snake Flower, but she didn't think he had any to Eyes of the Night. Did that make him more suspicious, or less?

Peep was torn as she watched Kiss of Death leave the group to await her fate. Truth or lies? "I will give her the benefit of the doubt this round and vote for As the Sun Burns."

Sleepless scuffed nervous lines into the dirt as she listened and peeked. She was increasingly reminded of why she'd tried to eliminate all Kin variables from her research as early as possible. Kin were so...unpredictable and...and feelings...feelings were so messy. She didn't know how to deal with her own, much less another's. She didn't even know how to feel about any of this.

Except for Bitter End. She was pretty sure she knew how she felt about Bitter End. Another narrowed glare.

Bitter End was, in contrast, perfectly in tune with her own emotions. She was blase, unimpressed and somewhat amused by the dramatic turn of events. As her eyes flitted up, she waved merrily back at Sleepless again. It was so sweet that she missed her so much when they were apart. She could almost feel positive kinship.

Such a pity she was still further down her list. And yesterday's outcome wasn't making that any shorter.

"If what Kiss of Death says is true," she spoke after Peep, "then she is not long for this world. And if not, we may see to it after tonight. I vote for As the Sun Burns as I did before."

This time, she managed not to add a 'sorry', though she did drop an apologetic nod at the buck, feeling rather awkward after the direct address he'd made yesterday.

Oh right - as Sleepless meekly made her point, that reminded End that she'd been slighted. "Do refrain from doing so again, Watch," she said with the lameness and pettiness of someone several beats too late for a comeback, "because your nickname and your sense of humour both make no sense. I vote for As the Sun Burns by his swamp-given name."

Click to show.Watch turned to Kiss of Death and spoke, "While I do appreciate your change in heart, your reasonings do not seem as sound as you may hope them to be. I understand your vote in me, I feel you are using it to gain back the favor you lost by changing faces."

He turned back to the crowd, "Yet I do not understand the votes against me held by Look-see, a doe who has barely said a word before disappearing without giving the slightest inkling for a reason, and by Sleepless and Bitter End. If I and others are being called out for not giving reasons behind their votes, I feel that those three should be as well."

"As for my vote on Fire Made Flesh, it is a deeply rooted feeling I've had since the beginning of the game. Like I said, he voted for the first night victim and harassed the second, we all know that. His ties to Eyes, however..." He stopped to think, "All I can truly remember of him is that he back Optimist the most."

Sleepless had to admit: she'd never been asked to repeat a lengthy hypothesis before. She got the sense that some (and here she glanced timidly at Wild Sage) wouldn't be so keen on hearing that extensive theory again, though, so she quickly decided she'd only repeat herself if further questioned.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Well then. Things had certainly taken an interesting turn.

"As suspicious as Kiss of Death is, there is a simple way to test her claims. Let her explain who she saved each round and let us let her live. If she truly has the powers that she claims, she'll no doubt be targeted by the wolves.

I'm curious as to how this "saving" works as someone has perished each turn, but it may be a redirection of the wolves perhaps? In any case, I think it is in our best interest to let Kiss live this round if only we can verify her statements. We can always lynch her tomorrow if she's lying.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Oh, Apathy - that wasn't what I meant at all. It's not the fact that she changed her vote that makes me think she's a predator; it's the fact that she changed it without reason and so suddenly - as though she'd waited for the tie to happen. I like her, too, but the predators are chosen randomly in this game." Optimist shook her head out a bit as she spoke: she was beginning to cramp, a little. "But I think it's a good decision to wait it out one night, and I'm not opposed to the alternative election of As the Sun Burns." She still thought it likely that the two were partners actively working to look unlinked.

"As for you, As the Sun Burns, I think your memory is too short! Sleepless and Bitter End lead the votes for you yesterday. It's not unreasonable that their reasoning is the same; it's only strange to me that you keep asking for something that has been so continuously freely given." She paused. "I don't think Kiss' sudden decision to vote for you once more makes you look innocent, either, for precisely the reason you yourself came up with. Sorry," Optimist finished, frowning lightly at him. "I'd indeed be interested in hearing Look-See's explanation, though."

She nodded with interest at Doubleback. "That is an interesting question! That'd make a lot more sense than what I'd thought - I couldn't imagine who she could be saving if one kin was still dying each night, which was precisely what I thought was normal for this game!" A quick pause, and then an addendum: "A-also, I really just don't think that you should do something like this if you're truly prey and a healer. It's better to hide your identity so that you don't become a target for predators." A large part of why she still thought Kiss guilty was that she'd decided to say all of this with only two votes for her - when in previous days the votes for Doubleback had numbered as large as four without even a risk of that toxic-colored doe's death, and a large portion of the group was still standing silently by, actively refusing to make a decision on this matter.

"What do you think, Arctic Waste, Fire Made Flesh?" she asked, picking out the names of some of these silent kin.

Nightingale gazed on at Kiss of Death thoughtfully. "If she is telling the truth, the predators will surely remove her this evening. If not, well, there is always next round. I will throw my vote to As the Sun Burns only because that is the direction the wind blows."

"Unfortunately, I have something I must attend to today (that is, an exam lmao) so I will throw down my vote for As the Sun Burns. I think the reasoning for this has been pounded into everyone's head by now so I won't repeat."

She gazed over to the newest open spot. This seems to keep getting harder to decided, no pattern to the death at night. Swamp Trees started to rethink how she was voting. She barely spoke, but she would at times. So far none have showed any thing outward to her eyes and ears that they are something different. If she sits this vote out, she might not be here in the morning. Sighing she follows the others, nodding her head towards As the Sun Burns, with a small look of apology.

It seemed the same few talked but spoke for longer now and she found it hard to keep track of all they were saying. At least until Kiss of Death spoke of being a healer. That was interesting.

"Yes, if you tell us who you have saved, it might help," Giveforward agreed. Perhaps that was why the wolf kills seemed to make no sense, too. Assuming Kiss spoke the truth and had managed to save anyone. It was likely a lot harder to do than it sounded.

"Can you save yourself? If you are speaking the truth and the wolves target you, assuming you can save yourself, you might survive and then we may doubt you more...," she thought aloud. Or then, they might not target her at all just to cast more suspicion on her. She sighed. Everything seemed to loop back in an endless circle.

"I shall vote for As the Sun Burns. If you are a healer, Kiss of Death, I'd rather you lived."
