Suri bristled, her lips pursed at Stroud's orders. She had only just jumped to the defense of her general, only to be brushed aside like the butt of some joke. But orders were orders, and Suri could remember their faces for another time, when her grievances could be properly aired. She took an extra moment to memorize the figure of the man at Stroud's arm, her eyes narrowed in contempt. She wasn't sure who would be on the other side of his transformation, but either way, he was Stroud's new favorite and therefore had to be an a*****e.

With a terse nod, Suri turned back towards the crowds, navigating through panicked partygoers in search of a place of relative solitude. She rounded a corner to a vacated hallway and stepped into Zircon's skin, spinning on her heels to reenter the fray with a new face and a darker purpose. Her original intent was to make a beeline for Schorl and company, who already seemed to be in the midst of a fray, but she stopped just short at the sight of a familiar figure darting between the crowd-goers.

Her expression twisted in bitter anger, Zircon dashed across the ball, screeching to a halt in front of Chariklo. Her weapon was drawn and pointed at the mirror senshi, but she paused short of outright attack. After the betrayal at Avalon, she was more than justified in striking out at the woman, but a burning sensation in her wrist gave her enough pause to talk first. "We're not after mirror senshi here," she growled, her eyes brimming with malice. "You've got one chance to leave."

Since passing out, Zachary had spent most of his remaining night in proximity of the nurse's station. The air was about ten degrees cooler than on the dance floor, and it was much easier to find someone who would give you water. Had he been more observant, he might have shown more concern for the increasing number of patients clogging the area, but instead he leaned against a wall, staring tiredly at his mask. Or...was it his mask? It looked the same and felt the same, but for some reason it no longer felt like it belonged to him. Maybe he was just overthinking things. Maybe the night really was starting to get to him.

In the distance he heard screams, and right when he lifted his heavy eyes he saw some girl in a sailor suit go zooming past, running faster than should be humanly possible. She intercepted a man in black, and the two of them began to toss blows back and forth like they might have been Super Saiyans. Zachary's brow furrowed, his brain taking a moment to catch up with his eyes, but when the realization dawned upon him his whole face contorted in ******** s**t," Zachary growled, tossing aside his imposter mask. He wanted his lacrosse stick, but that was all the way back at his car, and there was no way he was going to be able to get through the front. If he wanted to drive them off, he was going to have to improvise.

"Stupid ******** terrorists and their stupid ******** plans," the man rumbled, his voice gaining volume as he scoured the room for something useful. Catching sight of an overturned table, he jogged for the upended furniture, intending to sling it around as a makeshift riot shield. But his arms languished as he tried to maneuver it, and the folding table was either far heavier than its plastic upholstering implied or he truly was that tired. <********> With a tired huff, Zachary kicked away the folding table, clenching his jaw as it clattered to the ground. It was so goddamn frustrating to not be able to fight these assholes. He hadn't lived in Destiny City for years, but the last time s**t like this happened, a lot of people had died. His sister had died.

Never again.

Zachary settled on a metal folding chair that, when folded neatly against his arm, settled for a buckler. He began trudging towards the second ballroom, arm at the ready to bash some heads and save some kids, but paused at the sight of an able-bodied dude stirring at the nurse's station. "Yo, get up! There's s**t going down out here, we need help!" He didn't wait to see if the young man would heed his advice--instead, he began to charge for the second ballroom, as fast as his tired legs would carry him.

"Is it a good idea to leave you friend there Red?? She seems a bit naive.." Lellouch chuckled. "Does she know what shes doing??" The blonde grunted as the leg connected with her side. But the teen quickly wrapped her fingers around the Eternal's ankle as she swung her. " I see your skirts gotten shorter as well. Are you sure your not trying to seduce people? And what's up your face?? You look like you let a three year old scribble on it with some marker." A pause. "You know, now that I see it. I suppose it's quite the improvement. "I just had my tail stepped on. What do you think?" Iolite grumbled. "...Sorry about scratching you." The cat's ears twitched as a voice registered and Iolite turned in time to see a tiny ball of fluff charging at them. Again she hissed, ears laying flat and fur poofing out. "You're going to get hurt running at people like that Little One." She hissed as the little ball of puff crashed into her and sank its claws into her fur. "I may be part of the Negaverse but that doesn't mean I'm part of this."

The force of Cinnabar's kick was unexpected. Her sturdy boot collided first with Hvergelmir's head, then the knight's head snapped backward and into the wall.

She crumpled to the floor in a heap, weightless and heavy all at once, like clothes loosed from their clothespins.

She didn't get back up.

[ Jenn - Chibi Iduna - Green - HP: 20 ]

It was really scary out here. People were running and screaming and people were starting to drop to the floor in the fighting. Iduna very much was wishing it was just black monsters and not people fighting people. It unsettled her that people were fighting each other. It unsettled that people were knocking each other out.

It super scared her when a young woman in a whiteish dress with whiteish hair crumpled into the wall to her left. Iduna stepped to her, unsure of what to do.

"Missy, missy are you okay?" she asked, before a shiver rolled down her spine and she spun to stare at a half youma woman with blackhair and scales and a tail.

She snapped a kick out, fear removing most of the force from it.

He found a squire of earth trying to help and swung a leg out towards him. Some stupid civilian got in the middle and Jarosite pulled the kick at the last moment. Damnit people, getting in the way.

After the person joined him, seeming to stumble a bit as they seated themselves, Alexandre took a moment to wonder if he could just remove the mask from their face. He knew he shouldn't, this was obviously an important operation, but who would question it? He could find a way to explain it and play it off as something innocent and not some small, nearly microscopic, undermining of the Negaverse. He didn't though and that was ok cause moments later the person fell, unconscious, and he moved as quickly as he could to catch them.

Preventing them from hitting the ground he laid them down on the ground with their head pillowed in his lap and gently removed the mask. Fingers brushing dark hair from the others face. "You'll be safe." Whispered as he moved them under the table letting the table cloth hide them as much as it could. Standing he grabbed the table nearest to his and pulled it over to use the other tables cloth to finish hiding and covering the unconscious form.

People soon were acting out and he heard a voice, a command, in his ear and he bent down, ducking behind the pressed together tables in order to power up. He didn't want to do this, his heart wasn't quite in this, but he had a position within the Negaverse he had to maintain and protect. He had to do what he had to do and that was it. While knelt down behind the tables he peeked under at the unconscious form once more time. "Stay here...please." Whispered words that fell upon deaf ears. A deep breath was taken and what stood up was not Alexandre Evans, well dressed as ever, but General Benitoite, also well dressed.

Kirra looked down at her little buckled shoes, then back up at the older boy, shaking her head. She was tired, and getting scared-er, but even with all the stuff on the floor she didn’t think she was likely to fall over. Unless he bumped her again or something. “Are you?”

Though most grown-ups seemed to be leaving the ballroom, she watched in awe as two red-haired ladies entered, one with lacy red sunburn all over, shiny like glow-in-the-dark stickers, and the other with the biggest, prettiest yellow bows Kirra had ever seen. Their appearance was enough to keep her staring. But they were using Bad Words, and they didn’t seem very happy. They may have funny clothes, but Kirra thought they probably weren’t here to make balloon animals or sing. Then the black-feathery lady arrived and started fighting! What was going on? Was it part of the party?

When the yellow-ribbons lady came over to them, Kirra ducked behind the bigger boy, but the lady seemed to want to help.

“My cousin said to stay in this room,” she whispered back to Briar uncertainly. “But I don’t know where she is.” Kirra hesitated, twisting folds of her pink skirt in her fingers. It wasn’t okay to go with strangers, but going with friends was okay, and Gigi wouldn’t want her to get squashed by fighting ladies. “Okay, I’m coming.” And, to back up Briar’s claim that they were both totally grown-ups and not playing, she added, “We were getting ice cream and stuff.”

Falias had decided to try and make his way back towards the third ballroom because that was where he'd last seen Steve and Chloe and although he doubted that they were still in there - well make that he hoped that they weren't still there - it didn't change the fact that they were still here somewhere and he wanted them both out.

There were more panicked people around and Falias thought that he heard someone screaming hysterically that someone had blocked the doors, which was making it sound more and more like Destiny Con - they (being the Negaverse) had blocked the doors back then too and a crazy Nega Captain had chucked a god to honest ******** table at him.

Fortunately there weren't any tables being chucked here - at least not yet there weren't - but the voice calling out to him suggested that his day wasn't getting any better. In fact it had just take an outright downwards plummet in the form of a blue-haired Nega Captain with a downright nasty expression in his eyes.

"I've had better" the panicking civilian getting in the way as they tried to escape meant that he thankfully was spared the full force of the Captain's kick and Falias did his best to try and keep an eye to any more civilians as he followed with his own swing at the Captain.

Andrew snorted awake from his faint and realized he had rolled and ended up a burrito in the table cloth. A sticky, chocolatey burrito with cookie garnish. A face faded into his vision. Someone was hovering over him.

And then when clarity came, he realized it was not Emily, nor a concerned strange girl coming to his rescue or anything else that resided in teenage boy fantasies and involved tongue. Instead, it was a fat cat.

"Augh, ew, no," He flailed, and did his best to wriggle out of the burrito.

"How'd you get in here?" He asked the manx, not entirely like he was expecting an answer, and then he gave her a little head pat. "Chocolate is bad for kitties," He scolded in the voice one uses to talk to an especially cute animal.

And then he dramatically snapped to attention to look around for Emily. Instead, he saw the anarchy ensuing. Well s**t.

Grabbing the table cloth and holding it up over the table frame like a swishy fort for cover, he powered up, and threw his mask when he dropped it. The mask he had specifically taken off before powering up in order to have it on his person for a dramatic flair throw after the knight stood up and posed with his full on majestic and powered state. Now he was ready... to locate a familiar friend and get the hell out of dodge.

Hitch - 10HP

Over there, a girl dropped her dress as she sprouted scales and a tail and then spawned a new get-up in seconds flat. Then there was the guy pulverizing people and stuffing them into revolving doors. He swore he heard the yowl of a damn cat somewhere over all the screaming and yelling. There was the constant ping of a sound that was like - like what? He'd never heard a damn thing like it. Almost like a damn old school laser gun, and some had flashy special effects to match.

Hitch smiled too, because he was too overwhelmed to do much else, or even process what he was seeing. "Yeah, I'll take that light - you want?" Hitch held out the pack as he slowly shook his head. "Then I'm calling the ******** cops and... and then... ********, we'll cross the bridge when we get there, huh?"

Should they run? Tolliver clearly couldn't. Should they fight? No, Hitch didn't know what he was up against here, and again, Tolliver. "Maybe get us the ******** out of here." Hitch had come for cheap food ajd some decent music. ********, it was laughable now, wasn't it?

Natalie / Sailor Amphitrite (CIV) - 20 HP - CAPTURE LIST

Oh no. Oh no no no. If she was a normal girl, don't get her wrong, Natalie would be eating these lines up like Nutella bathed oreos with a cool glass of milk. But she WASN'T an ordinary girl, she was -

The thought crossed her mind. It was only natural it did. After what happened on that beach... but she couldn't run away, and as bad as that incident had been, it had proven that even if no one knew who she was, there was no running or hiding from this. She took a deep breath and grabbed hold of his hand. "Spike, I -- oh!! I see him!" He wasn't the only liar tonight. She plastered on a relieved smile and abruptly whirled, leaning - hopping, really - up to plant a friendly kiss on his cheek - or his chin. He was pretty damn tall and all. "Run, please! Get somewhere safe! And look me up sometime!"

She tried to dart away, hoping he wouldn't give chase. At least not until she could duck somewhere to transform, and hopefully the whole glamour thing would cover her tracks.

[ Merric - Jarosite - Black - HP: 35 ]

Jarosite snorted, taking the swing and passing it to the side. It stung, but he'd been through worse pain during his training. Nothing hurt worse than slamming your knuckles, shins and feet against hard rocks over and over again. He rolled with the hit, blading his body to his opponent. He stepped around the civilians, daggers phasing into being in his fists. He reversed the grips, blades pointing towards his elbows.

"Well let's make it better, shall we?" he said with glee, slashing with a forward strike to Falias' chest. He wasn't running; this would be fun. While Jaro liked the hunt almost as much as the kill, it was always fun to actually find someone who'd fight back.

Oh he'd have fun with this.

General Buddingtonite- 36 HP

It had been one hell of a party, or at least, General Buddingtonite had suspected it would have been. When he had arrived at the party, he had the best of intentions, was suited for success and was determined to get onto a certain someone's good side. It had taken hours of convincing his fellow general to not attend the Mascarade ball with him, even going as far as to bribing Nyasa to demand his attention and force one of them to remain at her beck and call, and of course, between the two, Buddingtonite would have been more fitting to participate in such a candid affair.

And participate he had been intending, but there was a snag in his plans, and that snag came dressed in a very lovely, very revealing gown. It did not take long for him to become side tracked and there may have been alcohol involved, but thus far, the night had been going swimmingly, and thus far, no one really questioned his absence. Well, if they had, he simply couldn't hear them over the sounds of pleasure that filled his head. The lovely lady lasted a little longer than he had expected, but eventually she had succumbed to the purple mask she wore, falling limp in Buddingtonite's arms as General-Queen Apatite gave the command. "Couldn't have timed that better, my General-Queen..."

With one potential captive in hand, Buddingtonite looked throughout the ballroom he was in and had managed to spot his actual date, one he had suddenly remembered to meet with after the fact, and he had managed to let out a whistle to grab her attention...

Mere seconds before someone came charging him from behind.

Sarras Squire of the Cosmos- 19 HP

He hated masquerade balls, he hated the hoity toity atmosphere that came with it, the ridiculously over the top attires that some certain individuals thought was still appropriate despite not having been appropriate since the Victorian era, and most of all, he hated just how crowded and obviously bad news this whole entire event was, and it had little to do with the terrible snacks and finger food that was, in his opinion, thrown together at the last minute. Daran Moreau had hated this entire ordeal, though one would have never suspected a thing. In the classic Moreau tradition, he mingled and wore two masks, the one assigned by the ball’s rule and the usual professionalism he prided himself in. He hated being here, but he was here to watch over his brother… a brother that had, of course, taken the first opportunity to disappear among the crowd at the first chance he got in the typical Richard fashion.

One moment, he was commenting on the legs on a certain lady, and the next, he was gone. Simply gone! Daran had spent the rest of the masquerade looking for Richard, trying to remember what color mask he was in, trying to remember what ridiculous outfit he wore, trying to remember something simple like that when his mind was already thinking of how many ways this entire night could go horribly wrong. He didn’t want to feed into the paranoia that the Negaverse may have been up to something, but given recent events and those haunting nightmares, he wouldn’t have held it past them. His rational mind tried to dissuade him from such thoughts, but it would seem that his rational mind was, once again, his own worst enemy. No sooner had he entered another section of the ballroom, did s**t go down, and whether it was the mask he wore or something far worse and deeper, he felt the world around him black out for a moment… “********’ assholes…”

When he came too, there was chaos, literally. He caught glimpses of Negaverse officers and thus far, he had managed to slip by unseen to others, or they had simply looked for other targets. Never one to look a gift horse in the mouth, he managed to pull himself under a table and wasted no time in henshining. The weakness that seemed to consume others was no longer present, though the Cosmos Squire suspected his blacking out had more to do with sensory overload and rushing memories of a certain quest on Mistral than any ill doing from the Negaverse itself. Not that it mattered, as the moment he was suited up, he was ready to strike…

And what luck! His eyes spotted a familiar figure- dark grey and red uniform with a tall, winged hat, silver shoulder spikes and one arm wrapped in thorns, matching his poisonous personality perfectly.

Sarras said nothing, merely acted. Buddingtonite! He rushed forward, paying no mind to the officers, allies, or civilians around him. He saw his target, and he would not be leaving with his life this night!

Bethany Wyatt - Front Doors - 10 HP (has chosen not to power up)

Bethany Wyatt wasn’t sure what had happened or how she ended up here, as the world was slowly fading back into focus, little bit by little bit. There were people dressed in dark clothing all around and had she managed to dig through the hidden compartments in her dress to henshin, she might have realized that those dark-wearing blobs that shifted around were, in fact, Negaverse officers. Not that she really needed to be powered up to know exactly what kind of trouble she was in, as she has learned that when something terrible happened in Destiny City, blaming the Negaverse was never really the wrong answer.

Someone had tried grabbing her and she instinctively began to wriggle, weakly at first, but picked up in tempo and ferocity when she realized that the one that grabbed her was likely an officer. She let out a hoarse scream and began to kick and scream, fitting the part of a wounded animal or a being that had fallen into a fit of hysterics, and thus far it had managed to free her from their prying hands. She felt her heeled foot slam against something stiff and solid, and she hoped that, if it was a Negaverse officer, she’d do enough lasting damage to keep them off of her as she scrambled to her feet. Something obscured her view and she managed to rip the mask off, throwing it to the ground and backing away from it, never once taking in its appearance of its color. Such matters were trivial to her, and Bethany took one look around the room and knew only one thing.

She needed to get out of here!

When she kicked herself free of her possible abductor, she lost a shoe in the process and she didn’t seek to recover it. Even if Charlene would hold a grudge on her forever, she’d simply have to return to the dormitories minus a shoe, and she limped towards the front door, grabbing her dress and pulling it up as though she were trudging through a swamp and not an impromptu battlefield. “Always… always with the fighting… never a moment’s rest! How… how could we ever have thought they were friends to anyone besides war and chaos?”

She didn’t know if anyone heard her and she didn’t care, her frustration bubbling forth and mingling with her very real fear, and she watched in horror when a knight was downed by one of more interesting… she assumed it was an officer? She wasn’t so sure- her vision was blurred and it was hard to concentrate on a single thing, but the fact that the knight had fallen at the door meant that escaping that way might have been a futile endeavor. Her mind scrambled to think of a plan, not realizing that she was standing there, a prime target for any officers near by...

It took several minutes for Aiden to finally come to. More than a little dizzy he sat up slowly using the chair and turned over table leg as support. "What the ********> He said aloud though there was nobody to hear, even the ashen blond he was about to sit next to was gone.

"Jenna!" he yelled rising to his feet. So much chaos had broken out since they had left the dance floor that he felt a sense of urgency to get out of there ASAP. "Jenna!" he called once more

"Aiden!" The sound of his sisters voice come as a relief.

"We need to get out of here, c'mon." He grabbed a hold of his sisters hand then took off bobbing and weaving through the crowd till they broke free of the mayhem. "The front door's blocked off we need to find another exit." Worse case scenario they'd run up the flight of stairs to their hotel room and toss the fire escape ladder out the window.

Falias tried to his best to try and avoid the incoming blow, but unlike his encounters with the annoying baton-wielding Lieutenant this Nega Captain was much, much faster and like most of the other Nega Officers he'd come across just as crazy.

He let out a hiss at the heavy end of the dagger jabbed into him, not quite full frontal - he'd managed to turn enough to avoid that - but not to avoid the blow all together and tried to lash out with another blow of his own.

He did his best to put his strength into the blow, wishing as he did so that he wasn't feeling quite so sluggish, a part of him resentful at the way that the Negaverse always had a knack at turning up and ruining anything fun.

He ignored the Captain's taunt, snapping out instead "Where do they keep recruiting all you guys anyway, the looney bin?" Because out of all the Nega officers he'd had run across only two of them had seemed normal and this particular Captain swinging at him with a glee that was frankly disturbing wasn't either of them.

Dearest gods, she was beautiful. And wonderful. Chariklo grinned at Amytis and nodded curtly as they raced for the doors.

"No worries, baby. If I get my way, you'll never be a widow."

As they ran, the tall senshi saw small battling clusters and felt her grin turn into a grimacing snarl. What the hell was wrong with these people? Endangering innocents, recruiting monsters, trying to corrupt Wonders. They were ******** evil.

You are too, her mind whispered. Just by alignment. Chariklo gave her head a quick shake to dispel that particular thought and found herself skidding to a halt as a female officer got in her path. Sticking out an arm to keep Amytis from tripping or trying to take on the other woman herself, Chariklo coolly sized her up.

Not as strong as me. Weapon looks nasty. Huh, she looks real pissy too. Wonder why...

"Ah," she said quietly, recognition hitting. "You were one of the assholes sent to take what you had no right to. Yeah, I'd apologize, but I'm morally opposed to letting you ******** do anything that helps put your lot in charge of the world."

She opened her mouth to say more, but found her attention riveted by a fight going on a ways behind the officer. She caught sight of a tall, black haired woman in red who had a... a tail? Apparently Bischofite hadn't been the only monster in the ranks. But it was less the woman's appearance that drew her attention as it was who she was fighting.

"Hver..." the horrified whisper forced itself from her throat. And when she saw her friend go down, an almost inhuman growl rumbled from her. Turning her full attention back to the officer in her way, Chariklo stared down at her with eyes that burned with rage.

"Cute, you're giving us a chance to just walk out. Whatcha think, Amytis? Should we take this b***h's so generous offer or should we beat her ******** skull in?"

Though her nearly full attention was rooted to where Hvergelmir lay, she still put on a tiny show of thinking before shrugging and shaking her head.

"Nope. Not leaving. Mobbing Cacophany!"

Chariklo - 20HP - Near the doors

Quote:
Chariklo emits a harsh, squawking call that seems to come from more than one throat and it feels as through a small swarm of wings are attacking. In addition to the swarm of buffeting wings, the target will now also feel as if they are being slashed and pecked at with beaks and talons. Able to perform twice per battle and can encompass up to 5 people over a 20ft radius. The target will be able to see the shimmering outline of a wing or beak or taloned foot, but never a full shape. Target is now the happy recipient of bruising and deep, slashing wounds, again all aimed around the shoulders and head area. Attack duration is 45 seconds to 1 minute. And should the target escape that 20' radius, the attack will follow them for about 10 seconds.
