Daily.
It was a strange word as n0ms wasn’t even sure how long had passed, if any. If the world was truly a dream then did time matter here? Or was somewhere the real her still asleep somewhere? In the back of her mind she could hear the words of someone far wiser than her talking about dreams and how the time in a dream was far different than that of the time in real life. Naturally, n0ms had not really listened at the time but the information had still managed to sink into her skull. Now as for who had said it? That was a mystery all in itself.
As she continued to ponder there was a moment of slowed time around her as she watched the beast moved forward. This one was different from the others and sent that chill back down her spine. Bouncing away from it she managed to barely avoid an attack but dust had picked up. Somehow she had ended up far away from the others without realizing it and coughed as the dust moved into her lungs. It was choking her.
Inside she could see it as it glazed over her, a vision of herself. As she always had been, bouncing and happy with a carefree attitude. She smiled and waved, sitting on the fringe of her vision, smiling and laughing, as if nothing had changed. She missed herself. She missed her world
She missed everything and wanted to badly to get back to them. All of those memories…
Walking down those halls and seeing those faces, visiting HIM and having lunch (or any meal). Some of those things were so mundane but she didn’t care - they were her things to do do after all. As those memories came back she felt herself stop her sadness.
It was what she was fighting for.
They were all fighting for survival as they had been brought into the dream game together, but each individual was fighting for something else entirely. What were they fighting for? Surely it had to be something similar to her own reasons and she looked back to them curiously.
At least you are all fighting. she thought to herself as she began a slow walk back towards the battle. n0ms may have been about food and about other things but even she knew that nothing could be accomplished without violence sometimes. Though she didn’t go seeking it out (unless she was hungry) she knew in these situations that it had to be done. She was very glad to see that there were others on the same page as her. Doing nothing accomplishes nothing. They were words of her brother said a long time ago, but they rang true now.
As she stood in front of the monster again she had a small grin on her face and nodded to those nearby. They were getting closer to the end of all of this, she couldn’t let them down now. With a running start n0ms moved back and jumped towards it with a flurry of blows from her claws. They were powerful and could slice through certain enemies like butter. This wasn’t THAT easy but she could see the marks she was making bright as day and it made her grin and she felt herself get smacked into at full force.
“Unf!”
She released a small sound but moved back in. On her body she could feel the twinge of pain as she was wounded but she wasn’t done yet. If her group wasn’t done, she wasn’t going to be done. They had to continue fighting to the last breath to get back to those wonderful things that were waiting for them elsewhere.
Internally she could hear the echo of ALICE speaking again as she had watched that terrible scene before. n0ms didn’t want to think about that at the moment and tried to push the thoughts away as she fought through the pain and struggle of it all just to try and land some small wound on the beast to make it easier for the others. Replace… She grunted and tried her best to not concentrate on the word as she looked back again to the beast in front of her.
This wasn’t a queen but she knew it had to be stopped. n0ms was never one to be serious for too long but when it came to this she could feel the grave nature of the situation over her head. Even if it was taking their memories and putting them into those things, how could they get past if it wasn’t gone? If it was here then it meant it had to be defeated, there was no changing that fact.
Taking a few moments to breathe n0ms had moved back and looked down at herself, staring at the claws that were covered in the carnage of battle and back again. It has to be done. She thought to herself as her hands begin to shake. Placing them back to her sides she glared back. As she thought before, this isn’t who she wanted to be it was just how things were turning out. Deeper still was a greater sense of deja vu, like she had done something like this before only maybe in another dream.
Dream?
Actually for a dream it was more of a nightmare and she shook her head to get out of the thought again. If it was a dream then they all needed waking which meant the creatures had to be killed. And she was going to help do just that.

The 'her' that had struggled before... somehow, against the odds, it had won, except now.. she had to win, too? Reine didn't understand, but it was as if she was looking in a mirror- this was her, without the rabbit ears and the strange clothes, without the dagger and pocket-watch, just.. very, very simply.. her. Her heart felt like it was twisting, painfully- she felt such pity, or perhaps it was hatred, for that self that was so weak; but even as she raised her daggers to attack, even as she felt the knife slash across herself- it beat her, its eyes blank and vacant, staring at her... Everything went dark. They all seemed to be working together pretty well to take down these... strange crowns.
As the last one fell, it almost seemed as though she heard herself.
...Wait, she herself was not speaking. Was it really...?
"You can do this." The voice, that sounded so much like her own, said. "For yourself. For your family." The girl in front of her smiled and took her hand and for some reason, she did not enough doubt it.
