 Shiiiiiit. Dale said something really bad, didn't he? He watched Sarad pale and tremble before hurriedly leaving. s**t. s**t s**t s**t. Shiiiit. He laid there, ignoring the anime. How did he fix this he just, he just completely scared his friend away. No, Dale felt terrible. So he laid there on Sarad's bed, trying to think. How... how did he fix this? How did.... he didn't know... He took his laptop, closing the anime and sighing. Good god. The hours passed as he figured out how to try and fix this. and really there was nothing more than an apology, which wouldn't work. He just laid there on Sarad's bed, mind filled with words. Hopefully the guy would be coming back to the dorm soon everything would be shutting down soon.

 Sarad stayed in the library until it closed before heading back to his dorm. he was hoping that Dale went to sleep and he could slip in without bothering him. he stopped outside of the door and sighed before silently opening the door. his heart sunk as he saw Dale sprawled out on his bed. had he fallen asleep there? he slipped inside, thinking he could just sleep at his desk or maybe even on Dale's bed, but he could see that he was still awake. "hey-" he said softly, putting his backpack down as he smiled at Dale, acting like nothing had happened. "you finish that anime?"

He heard Sarad come in, eyes not leaving the cieling until the other got close. "Nah, I didn't finish the episode. Been lying here, contemplating stuff." Maybe it was best to... ignore it? For now? "How was studying for cooking club?"

Sarad lowered his eyes, "i found a couple recipes that i think i'm going to suggest we try." he pulled the handwritten copies out of his backpack and held them up, "we'll see, though." he'd decided to actually find something so that it wasn't a total lie, at least he had something to show. he sat on the end of his bed, drained from his flight and being without pain medication for the entire evening. "i'm sorry i ran off after i remembered that assignment. i wanted to watch that show with you." he lowered his head. he should just tell Dale. he would continue to misunderstand if Sarad said nothing and that was dangerous. "i'm not gay. i know that it seems like it. i am womanly and weak, no girl would want to be with someone like me, but that doesn't mean i enjoy the company of men in that-in that way either." he blushed, his hands clenching into fists. "i'm sorry i made you misunderstand. please, please don't think of me as something so disgusting."

"Oh? Dessert recipes or meal recipes? You guys have been doing desserts for a while." he sat up and shrugged, "It's cool. I wasn't really in the mood to watch it after all. Cute girls can wait." And sat there in silence, looking around. "Oh. Sorry for lying on your bed. It probably smells like me I got clean sheets if you want." he started grabbing his laptop and power cord, pausing as Sarad spoke. "O-Oh. No I'm sorry for thinking you were. Though, i don't think gays are disgusting. I mean, you're born like it, right? So. It's no more disgusting than being born with dark or light skin." and moved over to his bed.

"No!" Sarad exclaimed, the loudest he'd ever spoken in front of Dale. "it's an abomination! there is no biological reason for such a thing to exist. They are disgusting filth that are addicted to sex, willing to do anything just to orgasm. the world would be better off if people like that were wiped out completely." though he said the words with passion, they sounded rehearsed, as if he'd heard them over and over until it became ingrained into his brain, making it possible for him to say them without thought. Sarad shook his head and stood up, "i'm going to bed." he didn't want to talk about this anymore, didn't want to think about it. "goodnight," he muttered as he changed into his sleepwear and got under the covers, curling up on his side. his bed smelled good and it took him a long time to figure out why. when he did, Sarad grew too sick to sleep. Dale. his bed smelled of Dale.

Dale's eyes widened in shock, listening to Sarad nearly shout at him his view on homosexuality. Dale almost felt, offended, like Sarad was trying to stab at him. Which was ridiculous because he wasn't gay but, his views on gays was being shredded by this, opinion, and a rude one at that. Dale looked down and away, giving a slight nod of the head. "Good night." was the automatic response. But he sat there a little longer, wondering why he felt so offended in his opinion, his standpoint on homosexuality. With a small sigh he finally stood up, grabbing his things to bathe and went to the showers, rinsing and washing himself off before returning and changing. He looked over at Sarad to say something, but looking at the motionless figure he decided against it. One, to not get Sarad yelling at him again and two, he was probably asleep. So he moved his laptop on to the floor and climbed under his blankets, back to Sarad, and placed his glasses beside his pillow. "Night." he mumbled again, closing his eyes despite the unsettled feeling in his stomach.

Sarad didn't sleep well. between his back and th sick feeling in his stomach from how comforted he'd felt over smelling Dale on his bed, his mind was in overdrive trying to explain everything. he woke early and got his showering things as well as some bandages. he was stiff as he moved around but the hot water helped tight muscles loosen, even if the soap did sting the open wounds. he dried and dressed before heading back to the room and opening up his laptop. he didn't have any homework to do, but he could start researching the paper he'd be writing for his senior report next year.

Dale didn't really get enough sleep. He was torn between intense anger and absolute confusion at Sarad, his opinion, his own opinion, homosexuality. They were fighting like starving wolves, only for one wolf to die and another to replace it. Continuous fighting, bared fangs, tearing at each other's throats. Why? Why was it so conflicting? When he fell asleep, it was but a few hours away from his alarm, and he had turned it off before it could ring. Which was why when Sarad awoke Dale was still in bed. Asleep. But it was light, waking up as he heard the clicking of a laptop mouse. Or was it the finger on the finger pad? Everything sounded loud when it was quiet. "Mornin." he mumbled in to his pillow.

Sarad glanced over, "good morning." he sat back and sighed, "Dale, i owe you an apology. i shouldn't have yelled, and i am deeply sorry." he hung his head, "it's a touchy subject for me. i've been raised with a certain standard and i have a hard time seeing beyond that. i know it's close minded and stupid, but," he shrugged a little, "you are a product of your upbringing, right?" his hand reached up to softly run through his hair, pushing the ornament to the side, only to have it fall forward again, "that doesn't mean my yelling at you was right, not in the least, and i am sorry. it won't happen again."

"mmhmm." was the sleepy response to Sarad saying he owed Dale an apology. And he listened, drifting between wake and sleep, body demanding more of the latter. "Mmhmm..." silence now, Dale's body shutting down before it picked up as Sarad spoke again. "It was unorthodox." he yawned, turning to face the other, trying to focus on the blurry figure. "You were scared, or somefin. When you yelled." he brought the blanket up, shifting from his curled up position to stretching out under the sheets. "'skay, though. We're friends."

Sarad felt his stomach unclench slightly. Dale still thought of them as friends, he hadn't screwed it up completely! thank the gods. "thank you," he said softly, bowing over his knees towards Dale. "you should get back to sleep, you're barely awake as it is." he smiled and suddenly felt exhausted. he glanced at Dale and figured that it wouldn't hurt to skip one day. besides, he was still in quite a bit of pain from his back. one day extra to recover wouldn't hurt. he send a quick email to his teachers before crawling into his bed and curling half on his side, half on his stomach. he breathed in deeply and got just a hint of Dale as he drifted into sleep, a small smile curling around his lips. he was just too tired to care that the smell made his stomach finish unclenching.

"I should. I'm tired. Kept thinking about you." Kept thinking about his words, though he was saying the full sentences in his head. It was the transmission from mind to mouth is where the error was. "be safe." At class, but Dale was passing out again. ... He woke up a few hours later, no doubt past lunch and groggily looked at his clock, hair in every which direction. He flopped back down, dozing off only to wake up thirty minutes later, stomach growling loudly for food. Fine fine." Sarad." he yawned, looking over at his tanned friend. "Hey. Le's go get lunch." and gave a second, larger yawn.

Sarad had a tight grip on his pillow, his face twisted as nightmares plagued him. he woke with a start when he heard his name, his eyes opening wide and his dream disappearing from his memory as if it had never been. "what?" he looked at Dale and then the clock before groaning, "oh-i slept in." he didn't normally sleep in, let alone this long. Sarad sat up and ran his hand through his hair, trying to shake off the lingering feelings of his dreams. "yes, we should eat. it's not good to miss meals." he forced himself to his feet, staggering slightly as he walked to his closet to get fresh clothing. "sleep well?"

"I feel like a nuclear truck hit me." he said, rubbing the sleep from his eyes and putting on his glasses. "I feel like tacos. You feel like tacos? I'm feeling like tacos." he stripped, throwing the pajamas on the bed and filtering through his wardrobe before pulling out what he wanted to wear. Shirt, pants, it matched. Awesome. "Food card..." he patted his pockets before looking at the top of the dresser. It wasn't there. "is my wallet on your side?"
