As it seemed that Atticus was finally going to leave, he would stop, after hearing what Texas had to say. "Mirai, do you see now what type of person he is?" he asked her. "He can't even answer three simple questions. He doesn't know what he is to you and as a result, he will bring you more suffering and heartache." Atticus turned around and stared back at Texas, "If you give your heart to such an arrogant, yet weak and emotionally unstable kid, you are only going invite pain into your life and as your brother, I will not let that happen." Atticus walked back to Mirai and held out his hand, "Mirai, deep down, can you honestly say he can give you the support that you need. That when you are in trouble he will be by your side and not with another? If not, then I want you to come with me, now." Atticus' eyes showed that he was sincere in his words, that if Texas couldn't become the weapon and person she needed, then she should leave him now. Atticus would lower his hand at that point, "Or you can continue to stay with him and allow for him to remain the way he is."
Texas's face turned red with anger and humiliation. "Atticus.....get lost. I never want to see you again in my life." The only thing stopping him from attacking Atticus right now was the fact that Atticus was definitely ready for him to attack and probably even expecting it. The grass around Texas's feet caught on fire though rather than it being an attack, it was a by-product of his anger. "She already told you she didn't want a partner. Go soak your head," he told Atticus angrily.
"Texas! Calm down!" Mirai snapped, she was close to slapping him. She heard Atticus and looked at him "I... I won't do that..." She told him. "We will work on this... I won't deal with heartbreak or anything like that." She told him. She had put her faith in Texas. She knew it would be a low blow to abandon him. "I'm sticking with him. If I get hurt, that is my fault... You and Shira struggled at first right? Give Texas and me a chance, brother..." She said.
Atticus looked towards Texas, his face emotionless, "Funny, I was going to say the same thing to you." he told Texas in serious voice. "This is why she does not need you by her side." Atticus said, looking at the grass that was burning, "With this little show you are putting on, it shows me that you are still nothing more than a weak, little child. Go home, Texas, you are no longer needed here or anywhere." Hearing Mirai, Atticus sighed, "And if he can not change his ways? What then? Will you resign yourself to an life of mediocrity? Continue letting him rum rampant like he is now?" Seeing that this was going nowhere, Atticus turned away, "I do not wish to be near him at all. He is nuisance and waste of potential. If you insist on remaining his partner, then see to it that he remains out of my sight. Just looking at him is sickening."
Texas couldn't take it anymore. Fortunately, instead of attacking Atticus he turned the opposite direction. "Why don't you go blind yourself then?" He asked him angrily as he began walking away as fast as he could, knowing he would explode and attack if he stayed. "I'm out. Mirai, you can talk to your brother about whatever you want. I can't stand him!"
And I just want to show them.

The Witch of Life Partner: Texas

Mirai watched as Texas left. Her mood was starting to go downhill. She looked towards Atticus "None of that will happen..." she insisted to her brother. She balled up her fist when she heard him say that Texas wasn't needed. "You don't say that to him..." she warned her brother. "Texas will be my death scythe. We will work through whatever bumps come up. Even if you show some doubt, it would be nice if my brother would at least humor me with this and stop beating down my partner and making it sound like he isn't needed because he is." she told Atticus with a strict tone.
As Texas decided to leave, he would hear no objections from Atticus. Hearing what Mirai had to say, Atticus would turn to face her. "It is my job to look after you and make sure you are safe and protected, if he can't even control his temper, then he doesn't need to be with you." Atticus told her. "I will never accept him, not as a weapon and not as your partner." Atticus placed his hands in his pockets and looked down at Mirai, "I am the head of this family now, my word will be the final one. Until he proves himself worthy, I will never see him as your partner."
"Yeah yeah, I got that... we are just going in circles here." Mirai replied. "It doesn't matter if you accept him or not... I see him as my partner and friend... you can't control that..." she said before bowing slightly and heading out most likely to discuss things with Texas who ran off. "See you later, brother." she told him as she began walking to where Texas was.
Atticus only sighed at Mirai's words, "I will do everything within my power to make you see that this is for the best, my dear little sister." Atticus told her before she left. He would then leave on his own.
Mirai frowned as she heard the last thing Atticus said before he went his own way. She looked around then for Texas. This was such an issue for her. Herald hated her so she couldn't really rely on the only other demon and kishin that was on their side at the moment. Atticus hated Texas so she couldn't be with him. She sighed as she looked around for Texas "Hey! Where did you go?!" she shouted. "Texas!"
Texas had walked off over the ridge, hidden from view where Atticus and Mirai had been standing. He was busy slowly incinerating individual blades of grass down to ashes, his concentration seemingly unbroken by Mirai's calls. "What?" He asked calmly though the anger could be heard in his voice.
And I just want to show them.

Mirai heard Texas and went over to where he was located. She stopped behind him and stood there for a few moments. "Texas... it is best if you learn to control your temper..." she started. She knew it was probably a bad thing to say but she really needed to work things out with him.
Texas looked over at Mirai before looking back to what he was doing. "My temper? You mean like not getting angry when your JERK brother tells me I'm weak, I suck, shouldn't exist and should never be your partner? 'cause that's gonna be kinda hard."
And I just want to show them.

Mirai stared at Texas "I mean handle it a different way..." she told him "Stick up for yourself... instead of telling him to get lost or go blind. You could have told him that you wanted to stay being partners... answering those questions might have helped too... What I mean is that Atticus wanted to get you to flip out... he wanted you to get really angry to show that you won't be fitting to be my partner." she explained. "I think you are... but if you keep exploding like that our soul wavelengths will go out of sinc." she said as she sat down next to him.
Texas stopped burning grass but didn't look over at Mirai. "Would you ditch me?" He asked her out of the blue. "If I couldn't be what you wanted me to be?" He continued staring down at the ground, holding his hand over the ashes he had created.
