Ember sniffed the air and smiled at Rail's and Thorn's enthusiasm. As Thorn told her that a certain female deer was there best choice she put out her senses towards that deer to confirm it. The heart beat was irregular, and the blood pumped through its body slowly, this deer was old. Nodding her head to Thorn, "Good observation." After a minutes thought she had finally came up with a plan and turned to the others, "Okay, here's what we're going to do. I'm going to use my mind manipulation on the sick deer and its going to thrash around and try to run away from what ever is attacking its limbs, and you guys are going to attack it and try and take it down. Remember go for the throat, that will kill it a lot faster."

Once she saw them nod their heads she crouched low to the ground and looked at the sick deer. Concentrating on it closely as she sent images to its mind that its back legs were being torn apart, and as soon as she sent those images it was taking off and running kicking its back legs to fight off its invisible attackers. You could see that it was weak as its attempts were everywhere and it was already panting for breath.

Rail nodded slowly once he understood the plan. His heart picked up speed as he got more and more nervous. Thorn took off quickly as the selected deer started to spaz out. He decided to treat it like a play thing, maybe that would help him. He sprinted after Thorn and fallowed her lead. She moved to one side, he moved to the other. The look in the deer's eyes was frightful and exhausted. Rail tried to reason with himself, to be able to help kill it. Instead of going for the throat he went at the front legs. The wolf tried to keep clean of the thrashing hind legs but managed to get kicked. The movement of the kick got the beast hind legs caught within Rail's horns. He yelped and tried to shake his head lose. The fright that flowed through him caused the jerking motion to snap the hind leg making the animal collapse ontop of him.

He yelped and jerked but the overgrown horns pierced into the animals hid as Rail fought to not be crushed.

Rail struggled for a moment but soon was able to rip the horns free and get out from under the animal. He shook himself trying to get the small internal chunks out of his fur. "thank you," he said with a shy smile to Ember. He was really started to curse himself for living off human food for so long. Though he had lost the fat he still lacked a lot of basic animal instinct.

Thorn watched as the scene unfolded infront of her. She was about to rip the deers throat out but Ember beet her too it. She lifted up the deer and as Thorn tried to help by pulling the deer she had to stop as it was only making it harder for Ember. She couldn't do anything... "Rail are you ok?" she asked at the same time as Ember.

Ember smiled and barked with laughter and his comment, she didn't want to be rude, but he looked a little funny. The blood on his fur was making his white fluffy mane stick up in odd places. "Yeah, that was exciting. Alright we now have food, dig in." She turned to the deer and began to eat into it.

Rail shrugged his shoulders at thorns question. he glanced up where Marta slept but saw no sign of bullet or frost yet. even the new demon wolf had gone mia. "where do you think we will go? there's not much left out there, just bare wasteland"

Frost limped slowly, leaving a few droplets of blood from the still healing gash in her backleg. Her fur was badly singed across the front of her chest, and in general she looked, well, like she had been in some sort of war.

The blue eyes were dark and dull, exhausted, but a strange glow of grim triumph as she turned her face towards the oasis of life once more. The few rations she had scrounged from the human city were running low, and as before her battered body was not exactly in the best of shape...

But it was a Research city. She had even found a lab that seemed to be a likely candidate to house what she needed for Marta...till she had nearly been overwhelmed by Altered.

Now, all she had to do was bring Marta to it...

The dry barren wasteland stretched for miles before her, around her, on every side. She felt alone.

Ember stood there looking at the two wolves as they ate, their pack had shrunk from so many, to so few...they needed to find somewhere safe...and hopefully some others who may need help. As she thought she remembered seeing something green far away from here where she had first smelt the group of wolves. If she hadn't smelled the wolves from the opposite direction she would have gone to the green she was seeing.

Her head perked up as Rail laid down next to her, a smile coming to her face. She licked the top of his head affectionately, in the short time she had met him, she fell for him. "Okay, I have an idea of a place where we can go...but its going to be a long journey." Sitting up straighter, a sudden blood smell came to her nose. It was a smell she recognized as Frost.

Quickly standing up she looked around worriedly, then stood still as she concentrated to where the smell was, stretching out her senses to hear the blood flow. Finally after a while of so Ember found the flow of blood about three or so miles out. Looking to Rail, "Frost is in trouble and she needs help." Quickly she ran the long stretch to the entrance and turned to the left to go find Frost. It really was a barren waste land.
