"A... strange necklace?" Yuki echoed, nervously fingering the one Dahv had given her that enhanced her powers. She'd never heard of friendship necklaces, so she had no idea what Elspeth was talking about. She blinked in confusion as the girl began rambling again. Rings now? Why was she talking about rings? She frowned slightly, wondering why such young people were here. It was a high school wasn't it? This place really was odd...

She glanced at Hikaru, seeing her face so eager and happy. "Frisbee...?" Yuki's mind was whirling now. All the research she'd done on human games suddenly left in her confusion. She stared for a moment as her name was asked. They'd asked to be best friends before knowing her name? "Ah, it's.... Yuki," she murmured quietly.

Then her eyes darted towards another new girl, and she nervously took another step away. She was never good with crowds, and suddenly all these people were popping out of nowhere! But she forced another small smile towards her as she introduced herself as Alexandra. "Nice to meet you," she nodded softly. "I'm Yuki."

"You play sports? Which sports? At my father's I used to play Parkoball, but I wasn't terribly good at it because I'm not strong enough to throw back the Gibble or ring the Leepa. But I'm sure we could get another 4 people and start a team together." She smiled quite cheerily at Terry at this, patting him on the back.

"My name is.. wait.. I haven't check again. It was Elspeth Armstrong the last I checked according to my mother but my ID card is in my suitcase so I wouldn't lose it, and it might have changed. Once it did, you know. I was Mary Green for an entire day--that was quite awful. I had to eat beets." She made a face at the idea.

Terry looks over quickly, snapping his head away from Hiro. "Frisbee?!" He says, rather too excitedly. "Oh, we've gotta play frisbee when we get a chance. Do you think there's a field or quad or something around here where we could play?" He snaps his head back to Hiro, a big smile across his face. "Do you like frisbee?" Then he remembers how confused Hiro was when he mentioned sports and stopped his enthusiasim.

"I mean, yeah, so uh what do you do for fun?"

Alex's mind reeled with all the different conversations that were taking place. And so many different people! Sports? What was the question, again? Frisbee? Soccer? What was plinkoball? Oh, why did she want to come and talk? Oh wait, Hikaru-

"Yes, it does seem rather wonderful here," she was never really outgoing to begin with, and this was getting alittle overwhelming.
She held her bookbag closer, shut her eyes, and sighed deeply, "Oh, dear."

To Hikaru, Terry says "Ha! Soccer? I'm the best forward striker you'll ever find." All of the tension seemed to seap out of Terry and he finally relaxed into his environment. Ten minutes and he'd already found a decent group of people. They were kind of weird, but that was kind of good.

Hiro was older, so he probably wouldn't want to hang out a lot, but maybe he could show him around. That was, if he wasn't stepping all over his words and making an idiot out of himself. No, Hiro seemed to like people with tails, so that was a good sign. Was Yuki his sister? He didn't know. Maybe he should ask...

Terry's cell phone buzzed in his pocket. He looked down at it. "Ah crap," he said. He looked up at Hiro, Yuki, Hikaru, Elspeth, and the new girl he hadn't met yet. "I gotta go get my stuff from my dad. He's going to help me move into my dorm. Um, can I catch up with you guys later?"

Hikaru grinned at Terry.

"Oooooooh, pretty confident, huh? Well, we'll just have to see about that, won't we? I won't let you off easy!"

She laughed, clapping him on the shoulder as he hefted his bookbag and took off. Waving happily, she watched him running off into the distance. Today was really looking to be a good day after all. She turned back to the rest of the group, grabbing for her own bag and rubbing her head apologetically.

"Sorry, El, but I should probably get going too. I still have to get registered for classes and move all my stuff in. My dad's coming by later on, too, so I need to make sure I'm mostly settled when he shows up. But we should all hang out again! It was fun! Bye, guys! We'll catch up later!"

Dashing off, Hikaru smiled widely to herself.

This is going to be so fun!

"I had better put up my things, if that's alright," Alex carefully left the group, smiling back at everyone as she made her way to her bags; she was much more eager to start her training as soon as possible. Grandfather would want it that way. Friends could be made later, like originally planned. But how in the world was she going to find her way around this place? Didn't grandfather give her a map..? Where did she put it? As her mind buzzed with these thoughts, she forgot to watch where she was going, and tripped over a small rock before clumsily landing face first into her bags, "Owwie," she muttered. Clutzilla had returned.
