Kadaj watched as the weak Deerling managed to break from the ball. It was a bit strange that it had that kind of power, considering it was only a baby in comparison to the Croagunk or Mankey that the other two had managed to catch. “Um, okay Torchic, I guess we’re going to have to over-kill it.” Kadaj sighed, not really wanting to do any more damage to the Deerling since it had been injured before Kadaj even managed to find it in the bushes. Still, the Deerling was asking for it because of its willingness to bust out of the Pokeball. “Use Flamethrower Pepper!” Torchic jumped into the air and launched a fan of flames towards the Deerling, engulfing it in another flame. Since fire-type moves were super effective against grass types, such as Deerling, the Deerling was quick to fall over again. How it even survived the first flamethrower was beyond the realm of possibilities for Kadaj. Maybe it was just naturally resistant to special attacks. As the Deerling lied motionlessly on the ground, Kadaj waited to make sure that the Pokémon wouldn’t get back up before he threw a Pokeball at the Deerling once more.

THEME: ♬ xxxxx LOCATION: Vormund City xxxxxOBJECTIVE: Introduce New Pokemon at exit of Vormund city. xxxxxCHAPTER: ⅠⅠ - Journey to the First Gym! Chad was rather happy with the outcome of this Pokémon capturing experience. Everyone had ended up capturing a Pokémon, even though they seemed reluctant about the idea a few minutes before they even started. Chad didn’t dare let his Mankey out though until all the battles were over and all the Pokémon were caught, just in case they didn’t seem to get along. “Whew! Great work guys, we’ve all got three Pokémon now.” Chad held up two Pokeballs since his Nincada was already standing outside of it. Then, after holding the up, both Smeargle and Mankey came out in a burst of light. The Mankey looked at Smeargle for a second before laughing. This caused Smeargle to roll its eyes and cross his arms in disgust. “Y-You guys, get along!” Chad sighed and turned to Nincada who was trying to help the two (Smeargle and Mankey) calm down and get to like each other better. Apparently Nincada didn’t like people not working together either. “Hey you guys!” Chad turned to Selphie and Kadaj, “You should release your Pokémon and let them get to know the crew.” Chad was really excited about the idea of his Mankey helping out in the first gym. If things worked out, then Chad would be a lot stronger when up against whoever she was at the first gym, although he still wanted to help Kadaj train his Torchic so that it could evolve before they were at the first gym. “Selphie, I’m kind of more interested in your Pokémon. It’s pretty cool that you were able to catch a Croagunk.” Chad laughed a little, thinking about how much he was fan-girling over this whole situation. It wasn’t every day that he was able to find a Pokémon that would come in handy at the first gym, and what’s better is that even though his Mankey liked to tease, it didn’t seem to go into a raging berserk whenever people disagreed with him.

THEME: ♬ xxxxx LOCATION: Vormund City xxxxxOBJECTIVE: Introduce new Pokemon on the outskirts of Vormund City with Kadaj and Chad. xxxxxCHAPTER: ⅠⅠ - Gym Time, Round One! After all the battles were over, Selphie decided to speculate on why the three were together. “I think that maybe Croagunk and Mankey knew each other, although I can’t be entirely sure until I do this.” Selphie tossed a pokeball into the air, causing the Croagunk to come out. Immediately after doing this Pidgey began to tweet aggressively, almost as though it were warning Croagunk not to make any funny business. “Now, now Pidgey. Croagunk won’t do anything, he knows I’m his trainer now.” Croagunk nodded to Pidgey, causing the bird to get all ruffled about the situation. It clearly didn’t like the idea of having to share Selphie. Croagunk walked over to the Mankey that was talking to Smeargle and Croagunk waved at Mankey. Apparently they seemed to know each other, or at least that’s what Selphie presumed. “Well, you guys did wonderfully battling your Pokémon. I underestimated Croagunk, but I still got him in the end.” Selphie held up another Pokeball and released her Pokémon Deino to join the party. Immediately upon being released, Deino walked over to Selphie and sat by her side. It clearly missed being in on the action. “Aw, next time I battle you can lead it- when we’re at the first gym!” Selphie nodded to herself and then looked up at Kadaj, “Well, you’re the only one who should release their Pokémon. Poochyena might get along with them and who knows how Deerling will act. The poor thing looked injured before you even began fighting it.” Selphie giggled sweetly before getting back to the reality of things. “Okay, so we caught our Pokémon. Let’s let them get to know each other a little more before we head out. You don’t want foreign Pokémon on your team, that could spell disaster in some double battles or even triple.” Selphie stretched a little and then walked over to the berries and scooped them all up so that no wild Pokémon could take them and then flee.

THEME: ♬ xxxxx LOCATION: Vormund City [Route Exit] xxxxxOBJECTIVE: Route Exit - Search For Pokemon. xxxxxCHAPTER: ⅠⅠ - Normalcy in a Gym! “Yeah that’s cool.” Kadaj released his newly caught Pokémon Deerling, and then he released his Poochyena. Kadaj noticed that the Deerling clung to his side and stared at the other Pokémon, slightly scared to go talk to them. “It’s okay little dude, they aren’t gonna’ hurt you.” Deerling nodded in a shaky fashion before ultimately walking up to the Torchic and talking to it, probably going over the battle or something else that Kadaj couldn’t think that they would have in common. His Poochyena, as usual, walked straight up to Deino and began barking happily. The bond of dark-type Pokémon seemed to be a lot for Poochyena. “Okay, so I guess all the Pokémon have met.” Kadaj sighed and turned to the other two. He didn’t have much to say since he caught his Pokémon and was ready to move on. He would’ve much preferred to just have a single Pokémon and call it a day, but since everyone else was catching Pokémon, he didn’t really want to be left with only two by the time they got to the first gym, or at least that’s how he saw it. “Yeah, so anyways, what were we talking about before we decided to get the Pokémon? Sorry, I’m just thinkin’ that the Pokémon could talk or something and then we could.” Kadaj smiled nervously before thinking about what was said. “I’m an orphan, that’s basically it. It wasn’t always like that, just when I turned ten that all went down and I had to learn to become independent. I don’t think it’s so bad, nothing I wouldn’t expect to have to do on my own anyways.” Kadaj laughed nervously and watched as his Pokémon tried to mingle with others. This whole bonding thing was really a good idea, especially for Deerling since it seemed to be extremely timid around others.

THEME: ♬ xxxxx LOCATION: Vormund City xxxxxOBJECTIVE: Introduce New Pokemon at exit of Vormund city. xxxxxCHAPTER: ⅠⅠ - Journey to the First Gym! Chad watched as his three Pokémon related to the others on some sort of level, except of course, Smeargle and Mankey, the two didn’t seem to get along very well, but if it meant that Mankey wouldn’t get angry over everything, then Chad was willing to tolerate that. “Double battle huh? I’ve been in one before against some crazy chick who was trying to steal my Pokémon and set them free, but I already told you about that so I won’t bore you with the details.” Chad forced a smile before directing his attention back to Kadaj who decided to let their Pokémon do their own thing, which truthfully wasn’t that bad of an idea since most of the Pokémon liked to play anyways. “Alright, that works Kadaj. Hey Selphie, I want to battle against that Croagunk of yours eventually, it looks pretty powerful.” Chad smiled gleefully as he looked at the Croagunk. It sure had put up a fight from what he saw, much more than Mankey or Deerling- poor Deerling. That Pokémon really didn’t stand much of a chance, why it burst out of the Pokeball in the first place was anyone’s guess at this point. It almost seemed like it wanted to be Kadaj’s Pokémon anyways after he managed to heal it. “Hmm, I went to an orphanage too Kadaj, but I don’t think we were in the same one because the people who raised us in mine loved to talk about champions and battling. My caretaker had a Buneary that she let us play with us, although I never thought about being a trainer until I actually realized how much I hated living in Willowcove.” Chad shrugged, “I don’t know, what would’ve you have done if your mom didn’t pressure you into being a trainer Selphie?” Chad had recalled Selphie saying her mother made her become a trainer in the first place.

THEME: ♬ xxxxx LOCATION: Vormund City xxxxxOBJECTIVE: Rest-Up on the outskirts of Vormund City with Kadaj and Chad. xxxxxCHAPTER: ⅠⅠ - Gym Time, Round One! As Kadaj told of his story, Selphie smiled warmly, thinking of how lucky she really had it compared to some people out there, Kadaj being one of them. Lucky she was for being born into a normal family with a somewhat normal, yet successful life. She remembered how her mother cheered for her so much whenever she’d made it to the top sixteen or so at the Pokémon Leagues. It was nice of her to show up and show support. Most of the trainers she fought against in the Kanto League had uncaring parents who didn’t partake in the Pokémon exercises. “O-Oh, eh, I guess I’m okay with it. I knew all my life that my mom intended for me to go to the Pokémon Academy, so I didn’t know anything different, but Pokémon have become a part of who I am now, I wouldn’t want to change that.” Selphie was proud of her answer that time. Most of them seemed so repetitive and almost like she was saying them from memory, but no one ever asked her if she wanted to be a trainer. Most people just assumed so because of how quickly she rose to fame. It didn’t take her long compared to some people to make it to the championships and take on the Champion himself. She believed his name was Lance, but she couldn’t really remember because those days seemed to go by way too quickly. “Honestly, I think being a trainer is easier than some of the other jobs out there because for us, you get paid for winning, but then again, if you suck, I can see how you wouldn’t want to be a trainer.” Selphie began to pet her new Croagunk, who only shot her a glance but decided to let her keep petting. “I don’t know why you two were so eager to get out of Willowcove, it seems like a pretty nice place.”

Kadaj shrugged because he really didn’t know what to say about the orphanage information, mainly because it didn’t really pertain to him in any way. “Hmm, I guess you got the lucky orphanage then dude.” Kadaj walked around and then sat down on the log since he estimated that the three of them would be waiting around awhile so that the nine Pokémon could get acquainted with one another. After all, it’s almost like Kadaj just caught three Pokémon since all of them would be working together in one way or another. “So Selph, what’s it like in Olivine? I heard that it’s an ocean town or something like that, where people live next to the ocean.” Kadaj moaned in protest because now he was going to have to explain where he learned this, “I know a lot about the regions because when I was in the orphanage, we talked about everything except Pokémon, so naturally I learned about the geography of the planet, and if I remember right, there’s a huge lighthouse there for ships coming in.” Kadaj shrugged off his thoughts as he realized that explaining would be a waste of time, since no one really cared about geography compared to the gym that was there. Truth be told, Kadaj didn’t even know there was a gym until Selphie had mentioned it, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. “I didn’t like Willowcove because there was too many bad memories tied into the place for me, mainly just staying in the orphanage. Nothing I can do about that stuff though, except leave.” Kadaj laughed, forcing himself to get out of the funk he was putting himself in. Every time he talked about his former orphanage, the life was literally sucked out of him. He couldn’t stand talking about it, so he tried to avoid it when at all possible.

THEME: ♬ xxxxx LOCATION: Vormund City xxxxxOBJECTIVE: Introduce New Pokemon at exit of Vormund city. xxxxxCHAPTER: ⅠⅠ - Journey to the First Gym! Chad smiled warmly at Selphie since she seemed to be confident in the path that she had laid before her, even though her mother kind of made her. It was still good to see that she wasn’t bitter or anything about it. “That’s good.” Chad turned his attention to Kadaj who seemed down about something or another. Naturally, since Chad didn’t know anything about Olivine City, he ignored the comment about being next to the ocean because he really didn’t know. He knew a lot about Pokémon though and how they battled and interacted with one another. Kadaj seemed to be like the perfect match for Chad in terms of what they knew and didn’t know. “Are you okay Kadaj?” Chad walked over to Kadaj and sat down on the log next to him. He stayed quiet for a moment, thinking about how he could comfort Kadaj. It was clear that Kadaj didn’t like talking about his days in Willowcove because he always seemed drained whenever he finished. It was understandable, and Chad never had a reason to know these things. Selphie seemed like the girl who wanted to know more about Kadaj. “S-So Selphie, tell us about Olivine City, what is it like?” Chad turned his glance from Selphie back to Kadaj and slowly, Chad let his hand roam across the log until it was sitting in his lap. ‘I hope he doesn’t mind this.’ Chad looked up into Kadaj’s eyes as worried as he possibly could be. He had never made a move when it came to relationships, but he was pretty sure that putting his hand in Kadaj’s lap was as much of a hint as any. He could always hide his feelings and just watch over Kadaj, but what would be the point of that? There would be no progress and even if Kadaj didn’t like Chad, Chad wanted to know now.

THEME: ♬ xxxxx LOCATION: Vormund City xxxxxOBJECTIVE: Rest-Up on the outskirts of Vormund City with Kadaj and Chad. xxxxxCHAPTER: ⅠⅠ - Gym Time, Round One! Selphie nodded accordingly as Chad made his reference to her opinion about her journeys being good. She didn’t intend to travel if she hated it after all, she had a back-up plan as a child and that was if her mother and father didn’t let her not go to the academy, then she would’ve went to go live with her grandma, but Selphie ultimately decided that she wanted to be a trainer and please her father and mother, so that’s where she ended up. Of course, it hasn’t been the easiest of journeys, but she managed to get through it. “Olivine is a nice place you guys, the smell of the air to the sights you see. I should take you guys there sometime, I think you’d really like it.” Selphie daydreamed for a moment about it. Going back there would be so nice since the last time she was there was over three years ago when she was sixteen and just completed the Kanto League and reached the top four. “Yeah, I think you would like it guys.” Selphie turned back to Chad and Kadaj but saw Chad placing his hand on Kadaj’s leg. This, to Selphie, meant that Chad was working up the courage to tell Kadaj how he felt, which probably meant that Selphie should mind her own business for a moment, while they talked. She walked over to her Pokémon and watched as they played with Kadaj and Chad’s as well. It was nice to see the Pokémon getting along, well most of them anyways. Some Pokémon didn’t behave and that was only natural. She could tell her Pidgey was a little mischievous too so she couldn’t be one to judge. The only thing she could hope was that Pidgey wasn’t so hard-headed when it actually evolved. Of course, personalities didn’t really tend to change upon evolution.

"Talking, talking, talking. I swear, I don't think you guys know how to do anything else. For a moment, I thought I was going to have to search through this forest high and low to find the two of you-" Serah emerged from the bushes to see Chad holding the lap of Kadaj, clearly a sign of some sort of romance, "Oops, was I interrupting something? I'll tell you what; you let me set your Pokemon free, and then I'll let you two get back to sucking face and things of the sort, would that make you feel better?" Serah turned around to see a new girl, or something like that who was attending to all the Pokemon. "I noticed that you all don't like to travel alone." Serah adjusted her glasses before deciding to target the weakest in her opinion: Kadaj. "You there, why don't you fight me, or are you going to make lover-boy do all the hard work?" Serah pulled a pokeball from her pocket and released her Porygon. "No double or triple battles, play it fair." Serah recalled that last time she fought, she was completely outnumbered, but this time she hoped to have a shot at taking out one of the wretched trainers who used Pokemon as tools of war.

» Ryan Snow » Party: Lulu The cry of an Eevee and the shout of a boy came from the forests. "Lulu, smack the damn thing around again!" Ryan shouted. He and his newly caught Pokemon had traversed through the forest and were now at the edge, feet from the city. They hadn't come across an interesting Pokemon until a particularly vicious Eevee was stepped on and attacked them. Ryan figured he'd meet all of his Pokemon by tripping over them...
Lulu slammed her palm into Eevee, who flew out of the forests and into the streets. Ryan and Lulu chased after it as it turned to try and run. He looked down at his Pokemon and, even in the chase he was making towards the Eevee, smiled. When Ryan had been walking through the forest, a word was thought into his mind by a small, feminine voice. It was Girl. He looked down at the Riolu at his side, who seemed to be smiling up at him. After he discovered the gender of his Pokemon, he decided to name her Lulu.
Ryan and Lulu sprinted around a corner, where the Eevee sat, exhausted, in a cluster of Pokemon who were around a few people. Ryan chucked his Pokeball at the Pokemon but barely missed. It got back up, clearly tired, and charged into Lulu, who had already been running towards it. They tussled around for a while until they ran into Selphie's feet and the Eevee tried to run again. Ryan threw his last Pokeball as hard as he could and hit the Eevee.
The Pokeball was lightly shaking on the ground. Ryan prayed to a god he didn't believe in that Eevee would be caught.

Kadaj couldn’t help but blush as he felt Chad’s hand caress his leg. Maybe this meant that Chad actually did like him? But it all seemed so fast, almost like Kadaj didn’t really have time to completely go over his feelings as well. “D-Dude, I…” Kadaj fought with his brain to find the words to say, but it was no use. Nothing was coming and everything that was there seemed to be useless for the moment. It was so obvious that he was rendered speechless by Chad in so many ways, but there was still nothing he could to convey the feeling to Chad. Kadaj sat there silently for a moment, thinking about what to say, when he noticed that annoying Serah girl from yesterday already back and wanting seconds. Almost immediately after she made the comment about how Kadaj was with his ‘lover-boy,’ he shoved Chad’s hand off of him and stood up, immediately getting ready for a battle with her. It was his turn to teach her a lesson about life. “H-He’s not my boyfriend yo’! Pepper, it’s all you!” Torchic, Kadaj’s Pokémon nicknamed Pepper, ran in front of Kadaj, ready to protect him from the threat of this woman. “Alright, we can do a one-on-one, but don’t expect to win because I can tell ya’ right now I’m not in a good mood because of you.” Kadaj was rather upset that his advances and progress with Chad were cut short thanks to the interruptions of this deranged woman. However, he wasn’t about to let her have the satisfaction of interrupting because he was planning to teach her a lesson she’d never forget. “Selph, watch the Pokémon! This is the chick who’s trying to steal and then release them.” Kadaj pointed to the Porygon and shouted a command to Pepper, “Quick, use Flamethrower!” Pepper nodded and launched a spray of fire forth from its beak.
