Shira continued staring at Atticus "Maybe you shouldn't assume so quickly. You stormed out of there before Charlotte could even explain the things she said and that isn't fair." She suggested before sighing "But if you insist..." She said.
Atticus sighed, "There's no need for that, now." he stated as he stood up, "My mind is already made up. I am going to go and train. I'm going to become stronger than everyone." Atticus looked back at Shira, "I am going to surpass your father, Divine, Charlotte, Mirai...Noira. When the time comes, I will surpass even God." Atticus had found a new spark, a new path to follow and it was one that was not easily obtainable, but that is why he chose it. "In the end, I will stand at the very top."
Shira watched Atticus before looking away "Alright..." She said. She wasn't exactly all that thrilled that Atticus' original plan to be her death scythe got the boot. Shira had her own plans for the future as well but that would be difficult without a weapon by her side. Despite that she respected his decision.
Still looking at Shira, Atticus frowned a bit, but he would walk towards her and grab her hand, "Of course, all of this is only possible with you by my side." he stated. "In order to become stronger, I must become a Death Scythe. Together, we will become the strongest duo, Shira."
"I thought I told you, Shira." Atticus placed his arm around her waist, "You are my light, I will never forget your hopes and dreams." Atticus then leaned in and kissed her, pulling away afterwards. "Why don't we just run away, together?" he asked her suddenly.
Shira shook her head at his sudden question "I have my own duties. My father is recovering right now and I have to be the head of the DWMA for now. To abandon that post wouldn't be right." She told him.
Atticus sighed, "I guess that is right, but when your father is well, I want to be alone, just me and you. Away from this city, away from all the fighting. I know that with you, I would not need to fight anymore, I would not have to worry about killing." This was something that Atticus had thought about for quite a while. The two of them should just disappear and leave all their stress and worry's behind them.
"No, not temporarily, for the rest of our lives. We could be alone together with our own home and our own family." Atticus was referring to the child that the two of them were supposed to have in the future. "A quiet and peaceful life far away from this place."
"Yes, it would. But I wouldn't care, I wouldn't need to get stronger, if I didn't fight. I could actually live a peaceful life and not have to suffer from the lost of loved ones ever again. Like Divine....and Akumu." he told her. Atticus blames their deaths on him, if he wasn't around maybe he could spare Mirai and the others from the same fate.
Shira frowned again "So... leaving everything else will help? What if your family needs you?" she asked before shaking her head "I'm sorry, Atticus... I can't do that."
Atticus sighed, he knew that there was no way that Shira would leave this City, she is bound to it, like her father and grandfather. While Atticus' only attachments there were Shira, their friends and his family, all of which are the only reasons he remain there and fight, but he was willing to give them all up just to be with Shira and leave the city. "I assumed that this was how it was going to be." he told her. "I will not remain in this city for the rest of my life. My family is strong with or without me, but you, your are different from me. This city is your home, not mine. You will never leave it behind."
