Wolfwood took Menolly's hand and helped her down off the counter then he scooped her up in his arms and carried her to the living room, figuring she could use the contact after going for so long without it. When he got to the couch, he sat down carefully so he wouldn't jostle her then settled her comfortably on his lap. "We'll give the chicken about 15 minutes to really soak in the flavor of that marinade and then we'll grill it up," he told her with a bright smile then proceeded to nuzzle her cheek.

Menolly was not complaining one bit, loving being held by Wolfwood. She nodded when he told her that they would wait 15. Putting her arms around him, she giggled slightly as he nuzzled her cheek. Playing gently with his hair, she pulled back to give him a soft kiss, enjoying every moment of it.

Wolfwood kissed and cuddled Menolly for the next fifteen minutes before he reluctantly stood up and set her on her feet. Smiling slightly, he took Menolly's hand and led her back into the kitchen. Turning on the flame, Wolfwood carefully positioned the grill pan so the heat was dispersed evenly. When the pan was hot enough, he carefully laid the strips of chicken out onto it in orderly rows.

ooc: *giggles at Elros's sig* Your puppy sounds like my dog, six years later and she still hasn't grown out of thinking the bed is hers, least she learned how to share
IC: Menolly loved every moment of those 15 minutes, time had flown so fast that it seemed in no time the wonderful moments were done. She walked with him to the kitchen without complaint and watched him as he cooked their meal.

While he waited for the strips of chicken to char, Wolfwood snuck kisses and cuddles with Menolly, keeping her entertained while their meal cooked. When the first side of the strips was done, he flipped them over, allowing them to cook on the the other side while he pointed out the nice goldenbrown char lines on the first side. And then, when the second side finished, he took the strips out of the pan and set them aside for the moment while he made a sauce from the pan scrapings and an orange liquer.

ooc: Aw, have you tried to make the puppy move a bit. I used to trick mine by petting the end of the bed, she'd go to the sound and I got into a comfy space, she can't move me.
IC: Menolly was delighfully entertained by the kisses and cuddles she recived while the food was being cooked. It was smelling wonderful and she was really looking forward to eating. Watching, she kept a mental note of what he was doing, fully enjoying herself.

Finally, the food was done. Giving Menolly one last kiss to hold her over dinner, Wolfwood turned to get a couple plates and set out the food. He neatly arrayed the slices of chicken on each plate then drizzled them with the sauce he had made. When the prep was complete, he offered Menolly one of the plates and a fork. "Enjoy."

ooc: Aw, how cute and sad at the same time, you might want to try bribing her with a treat.
IC: Menolly greatly enjoyed the kiss, really sure this was her new favorite type of contact. When the plate was hand to her, she took that and the fork before saying with a smile, "It looks delicous and smells wonderfuly, thank you Wolfwood!" She was really looking forward to eating, she just wanted to wait until both of them were seated before she started eating.

Realizing she was waiting for him, Wolfwood took a seat across from her and cut one of his slices of chicken with a fork, stabbing the piece and bringing it to his lips. "Dig in," he told her just before he popped the morsel into his mouth.

ooc: Wow, sounds like you have a head-strong puppy *Sniffles* makes me miss mine
IC: Menolly smiled and followed his lead, cutting off a small piece and ate it. Her eyes glowed a bit and she made the 'mmm' sound in her throat as she swollowed the wonderful piece of meat, "The chicken tastes wonderful!" She went back to greatly enjoying the meal provided.

Pleased that she liked the food, Wolfwood watched her with a smile, absently cutting another piece of chicken for himself and sliding it off the fork with his teeth.

IC: Menolly looked up and smiled every once in a while, greatly enjoying her meal and her time with Wolfwood. It took her longer then normal, but she was getting to the last few bites of her savory meal.

Wolfwood finally remembered that he was supposed to be eating too, not just playing with his food and watching Menolly with a big goofy grin. A little red in the face, he dug in, tucking the food away quickly enough to catch up but not bring into question his manners.

Menolly noticed, but instead of saying anything, she just finished her last two bites slowly to compensate. She never stopped smiling, her legs lightly swinging under her between the legs of the chair that she sat in.

When he finished the last piece of chicken, Wolfwood swiped a finger through a gob of sauce still on his plate and then stuck his finger in his mouth. When he took it back out--perfectly clean--he grinned at Menolly then got to his feet and reached over to take her plate.
