He arrived at Amityville High's prom just in time to hear the music come to a slow stop, the beginning strains of a ballad beginning to waft across the room. Sparrow stepped quietly inside, sliding his white gloved hands into the pockets of his blue dress coat, bought specially for this night. The mask on his face itched a little - there was some scratchy sort of fabric beneath it - but otherwise he was mostly pleased over his outfit for the evening.
It was too bad he did not have the one thing he really wanted by his side. However, Wren's absence was unavoidable, and Sparrow, although dismayed, had respected the ghoul's wishes. He could not force her to go, after all, and so, here he was, by himself at prom.
It was okay, Sparrow told himself, as he let his gaze wander idly around the crowded room. He would get her a flower and bring her back some cookies, and hopefully she would be awake when he got back. If she wasn't...well, he would probably still go and visit her anyway.
As he walked across the crowded dance floor, shiny shoes making a soft clicking sound on the sleek wood, he passed by a ghoul he was pretty sure was Hel - her hair was at least the most obvious identifying factor, and he tapped her shoulder on his way to the refreshment table, smiling at the ghoul as he passed by.
"Good evening, Hel."

For a moment a brief hesitation crossed over Titus' gaze as he looked back over the crowd. It didn't take him long to spot Riyo and with the mangy feline he had seen during their bet. Resisting the urge to growl Titus turned back a forced smile on his face. " We came as friends and she's currently chatting with someone else." The word friend didn't come easy but there it was out in the open. Was that was Titus really thought or was this more lies spilling through those pointy teeth. When the music changed to....the chicken dance Titus couldn't help but frown staring at the SkreeJay booth like what was going on? It wasn't long after the song was changed to something else. Something a bit slower. " Ah this...is a little more acceptable." He didn't really mean it he hated this type of music but he could work with it. " Would you care for a dance? I promise not to bite."

At the look from Lark he just furrowed his brow and offered a shrug. No accounting for taste of some people. He was glad, however, when the next song came on and watched with some amusement as Lark swayed in place. He was about to offer her a dance when she suddenly took his hand causing him to abandon his second glass of punch (he hardly knew ye) as he followed her with a laugh.
"Only because you asked nicely," he teased softly as he walked with her willingly to where they could dance.
He waited for her to take the spot for them before he gently pulled her toward him so he could drape his arms about her waist for the dance, "I hope you're having an alright time so far, Lar," he said simply. Kettil, thus far, was having a wonderful time.

Nodding, after hearing Sio's response, Levi caught a glimpse of Mot. Oh- so the cowboil was around. Levi took the opening given by their stop in dancing to twirl Sio around once before giving her a sort of bow. The music had indeed drastically changed, and she wasn't feeling the sway of it. Perhaps this was one of those songs songs requiring that hip thrust technique?
Patting the banshee's hand with a excited chuckle and grin, Levi's corsage of brightly colored flowers suddenly became undone and fell to the floor. Levi wanted to flee before Mot saw her just in case, but first bent carefully and slowly to try and retrieve her fallen corsage.

"Yeah, I guess," he admitted. He had gotten out there readily enough last year when there had been talk of prizes. Maybe he would do the same again this time around. Of course, he had also felt a lot more sure of himself back then. He hated to admit as much, but he kind of actually cared what people thought now. The feelings had been creeping up on him for a while, and he wasn't quite sure how to get rid of them. They were a chore. He hoped they were only temporary. "Mebbe later we can..."West trailed off as he took another peek at Levi, eyes widening a hair when he noticed her corsage. He could help her with that. He should help her with that. "Um.." he began, gesturing across the dance floor at the tatzel. "My date... my ghoulfriend," he said with a little more confidence. "I should..." He took a step toward Levi, then turned back to Ev. "Sorry. Y'weren't keepin' me, I jus'..." Want to be chivalrous. He smirked. "I'll see ya?" And then he was gone, taking long strides across the room and kneeling by Levi's side to help her with the candy-colored corsage.

Oh, Sparrow! Underneath her mask, Hel was genuinely pleased to see the grim, but at the same time she panicked a bit. She was trying to stay incognito. She wished there was a hand sign for: hi friend, shhh, I am trolling this p***k. But Hel would try and improvise. She had to after all! “Greetings, stranger.” There. Maybe Sparrow would think she was joking? As in, ‘I haven’t seen you in a while, stranger.’ She’d make sure to come back and bother the grim later…after she messed with Titus. Back to said Nightmare Demon. Who was lying. What a jerk. Hel reached up to placed a gloved hand in his, nearly crawling in her skin. “I would be honored…but ah…I’m not really a good dancer…” How long would she do this charade? Until after the song, probably.

Wait...Hel? Had Titus heard right? He narrowed his eyes for a moment at the reaper behind the ghoul but she seemed to regard him with an air of unfamiliarity. Well....maybe it wasn't her. This ghoul certainly didn't act like her. Oh well. Titus managed another smile this one somehow sweet. " That's fine, I'll lead." Gripping her hand with a gentle touch he whisked this mysterious ghoul to the dance floor. So far so good right? He was fairly certain he was doing a good job. At least until the move he did spun her out and then right back to him nice and close. Hmm...okay maybe it was still awkward.....best to keep moving. " So have you gone to school here long?" He managed to ask trying to keep conversation polite.

She noticed a shadowing of a figure as her hand went for the same thing someone else was.
Stopping just before picking up the corsage, Levi peered up and saw a pair of familiar horns; West had retrieved it for her and begun tying it around her wrist again.
Don't know how it happened. Maybe'ya didn't tie it right tha'first time. There was definitely a playfulness in the tatzel's tone here.
The music shifted again and Levi found herself staring at West on the dance floor, Sio just at her side. This was the sort of song she was familiar with again and, a bit reluctantly, her heel kicked to the tune. If West could read her expression, he'd think it somewhat familiar to a longing as if there were fish lying on the dance floor.
Dancing, West,... dancing is what she wanted to do suddenly.

Sparrow lifted a brow at Hel's greeting, the gesture obviously unseen behind his mask, but he offered her a polite smile anyway, pushing a few strands of his hair away from his face. He ducked his head in a small, mildly amused bow to the ghoul and her companion and then continued on towards the refreshments table. Picking up a small, plastic cup filled with some sort of punch, he lifted it to his lips and turned around, folding one arm across his waist.
He wondered if Jack was here somewhere...

Mitsu hadn't been certain what to make of the music change of the chicken dance but was glad when it was changed to something else. Taking the punch with a smile she thanked her reaper with a light peck on the cheek standing on her tip toes to perform the action. Pulling back she sipped on her drink looking out over the crowd spotting Mot among the many people. She waved to her big brother from where she was unsure if he would see her before she looked at the people who current resided at the refreshment table. Some of them were eagerly moving to the dance floor now that the song had changed to something slow but she didn't want to ask about dancing again so soon. Shun hadn't seemed eager, he hadn't been all that excited about it last year. Maybe...he really didn't want to dance. That was okay though, they were here all the same. Maybe Xiu or Levi would dance with her later.

Titus fell for it. What a stupid boil. It worked for Hel though! All these sweet smiles were killing her though. She followed the boil out onto the floor, and as much as it killed her to follow his lead, she did so. Woah…okay…where did Titus learn how to dance so… smooth? What a loser. Woah…woah…woah… Hel shuddered in disgust at how close she was pulled to him. Jack, the things she did to troll. She continued to follow his lead for now though. “Mmm…a few weeks…I am relatively new…how about you…ah…?” What was his name? Hel would play dumb.

"Mebbe if ya hadn't been flailin' 'round so much, my perfectly good knot wouldn't'a come out." His tone was rather flat as he concentrated on gently tying small things, but he was still smirking as he did so. When it was done, West kept his fingers on her wrist, finally looking at her face. s**t. That was the fish face, wasn't it. The face that meant she wanted...
He glanced at her tapping foot and sighed. She had just been dancing! And there were no prizes yet. And... he swallowed.
"Y'wanna?" he asked, his stomach in a knot as tight as the new one around her wrist. He already knew the answer.

" Only a few weeks? You seem oddly familiar....have we had a class together?" Titus wasn't the best with faces or names....or remember people in general unless it suited him. She seemed like the type to fall into the background so it was likely he had never noticed her. " Ah, I've...been here since Christmastival. It was quite the introduction to the school." And how he had wished the school had closed. The boil continued to lead Hel across the floor, feet easily in step and guiding her along the way. It wasn't hard to tell Titus had been victim of a few dance lessons in his time it was just a matter of remembering etiquette. He kept his hand at her waist lightly, her other grasped firmly as he led in that direction gliding across the floor with ease. " You're not too bad at this," He commented. That was a polite thing to say right?

She just shook her head at his answer. It was both taken well and with good humor given, well, it was coming from West. He also knew her answer. Her answer was Yew'betcha. Anyone who dared mock her for dancing with her mate would get a well-deserved beat down. That was all she cared for right now- the dance. Levi smiled at the wrath demon before turning and apologizing to the banshee. Ah- be back fer a sec, screecheart.Taking West's hand, she gestured for him to raise his arm as she spun once and then took his upper arm in her other hand. Her feet moved to the music, evening giving West the lead at moments. Her eyes kept concentrated on his to keep their movements together. It was just like the training they'd done in the woods that one time... Keepin' up alright, boil?

Lark draped her arms over him as best she could, their difference in height allowing for the merest arch of her wrists to curve over his broad shoulders. The beat was slow - but not too slow - and far more sensual than the blatant raunch from a few songs ago. With a happy hum, Lark rested her head against Kettil's chest. "So far, so good," Lark murmured happily. There would be time for mingling later; right now the only other person that existed was the boil in her arms. Life was good. It was so very, very good.
