The girls name was Tshila. Susan smiled as she introduced herself. But then she was off, to algebra she said. Susan shrugged and heard Percy.
"Nice to meet you Percy. Yeah we are in Art together" she said to him with a smile.

Oops, it was time to class. Susan finished her tea and threw away the cup. And exited out to class.

"Sethrian thinks just as highly of you," Marla assured Renivere quietly. "I can't tell you how long it's been since I've seen him smile." She gave Renivere's arm a gentle squeeze. "Thank you so much for taking care of him while he's here. I have to warn you that he doesn't have much of a green thumb so if he helps you, you'll have a bit of a time teaching him the proper way to care for plants. He's fabulous in the kitchen but somewhat clumsy in the garden."

When they reached the student lounge, Seth finally managed to twist himself away from his grandfather. "You should all find a place to sit. I will make tea--or coffee for those who prefer it. There are also the vending machines. It's not much but it is the best there is to be had outside the dorms unless you wish to brave the cafeteria."

Renivere was almost about to have another shy attack and this kind of emotional overload, but she was determined to keep a straight conversation. "I think just as highly of Sethrian. He is dependable and responsible." Renivere said. "He is teaching me the art of dancing, so I would like to teach him gardening."

Gwendolyn had already gone and chose to sit down in one of the couches. Finally! This seemed like a good place to mingle with people. She'll just sit down and wait for some decent people to talk to. People who didn't shower other people with praise and have the ability to talk about something else. Although this was the first time Gwendolyn was being overshadowed by her sister. Well she will enjoy it while it lasts.

Renivere helped Marla get seated. If she had four arms or two selves to help Simeon sit down too. "I will be helping Sethrian. Is there anything that would be wanted?" Renivere asked.

Gwendolyn waved a hand at her sister. "Oh! I'd like some coffee. I haven't tasted it yet since we don't have that in our place but I hear it gives a good boost of energy."

Renivere smiled at her sister. "Yes. It does." She will not tell her the crash that some people get later. Renivere went to Sethrian to help.

"Just coffee," Simeon said, taking a seat across from Gwendolyn. Marla watched Sethrian go across to the coffee maker and begin to clean it out. It was sort of shocking to her that he'd been teaching Renivere to dance because he usually refused to dance around other people. The fact that he was willing to do so around her said a lot about how he felt.

"She's such a nice girl," Marla told Simeon, reaching into her bag to pull out the two small, wrapped boxes--one for Renivere and one for Sethrian.

"Va," Simeon agreed. "Sethrian is quiet taken with her." He looked at Renivere's sister, smiling slightly. "You must have come a long way to visit your little sister, yes? It was quite a trip for us to come see our Sethrian.

"Renivere," Sethrian said quietly as the others talked behind them. "Would you like me to make you some tea as well?"

Renivere smiled at Sethrian as she followed him. "I shall be helping to make tea and coffee! There is need no for you to make for me because I am here to help!" Renivere said to Sethrian as she started to get the amount of cups that would be needed for all the people. After all, Renivere doubted Sethrian had enough hands for all the cups.

The hot water was almost out so she decided to go boil some more hot water. She filled the hot water dispenser with more hot water and then closed the lid when she was done and turned to Sethrian. "I am fond already of your grandparents. They are such wonderful and beautiful people!" It's no wonder Sethrian was such a nice person too! If only Renivere knew better adjectives. She would shower Sethrian with a lot of good ones.

Gwendolyn was already seated and found that Simeon started to talk to her about her trip. Eh? It was a long trip. Not that she minded long trips. "Yes, it was a long trip for me too, but I actually enjoy traveling when I can." Gwendolyn answered. "Our family has high expectations and it's nice to get away from them occasionally." Which is why Renivere was such a lucky brat since she was free from it all since she choose to live with the other species.

Well, it was a disgrace too. So her decision had its own consequences.

"So this Sethrian? What kind of person is he? I can't say I've formed a solid impression of him from our interaction." Yeah. What kind of guy would take Renivere?

"We used to travel a great deal," Marla said. "But that was when we were younger and traveling was easier. These days we like to stay closer to home. But travel has always been dear to our people."

Simeon looked over at Sethrian as he and Renivere worked together and spoke quietly. "He's a studious boy--quite serious and responsible, actually. He's bright, talented. I suppose we might be considered biased as his grandparents, but he's a good lad. He was made one of the head prefects here--we're very proud."

Sethrian glanced back, hearing his grandfather gush about him, and shook his head slightly. But he agreed with Renivere. "They are good people. They took me in when my mother dumped me on their doorstep and have raised me since then, though I'm sure it was difficult at times. Particularly when it became obvious I was...not entirely Human." He paused. "Your sister is...ah...the two of you look quite a lot alike," he said, uncertain what else he could say that was polite. He let his hand brush against hers briefly as they worked, and added, "I'm glad someone came to visit you."

Traveling, huh? Gwendolyn will do that someday, but of course in a less disgraceful way as Renivere's. She'll get her parents' blessings and her friends and everyone. Gwen listened to Simeon as he spoke about Sethrian. He was just another boring square. She had to admit she was a bit surprise that such a grouchy guy would even be with Renivere who was his exact opposite.

"Okay. Maybe I'll talk to him about Renivere so I have something to tell my parents when I get home." Gwendolyn remarked. "Or I'll ask Renivere since he seems to dislike me." Or both. She wanted both points of views.

Renivere couldn't help a small smile. "Sethrian, those who decide their feelings to a person due to race is blind and not very good as friends as appearances rule their thoughts." And Renivere had little taste for such people because those people would pick Gwendolyn over Renivere anyways. "I am happy that someone came for me. Gwendolyn and I are at odds and ends at often times, but she does not ignore me or cast out my existence and I hope that there is at least a small amount of care in her for this. But I left my world and found a family here. A family in the friends I have made and I feel that I can like myself much more because of you and because of everyone else." And her English was so much better too!

The water had started to boil and Renivere started to help with making the rest of the drinks. She was sad to have left home, but she was happy to have come to Rosentale.

"Don't think that!" Marla said, reaching to pat Gwendolyn's hand. "Sethrian is just very protective of the ones he loves. And besides, he's not very good at expressing his feelings. I'm sure he likes you. You seem like a very sweet, beautiful young woman!" Simeon nodded his agreement. Certainly there seemed to be tension between the two girls but that didn't mean Gwendolyn wasn't a perfectly sweet young lady. It was probably just some sort of sibling rivalry, was all.

"I agree," Sethrian said, smiling slightly. "Though, in my case, the Fae heritage came with...some drawbacks. But that is in the past. I can hardly change who I am. Were I not who I am, I wouldn't have come to Rosentale and we wouldn't have met. So to that end, I'm feel...grateful...for the first time, to be half Fae."

"Like you, there are many here I consider family."

When the coffee was ready, Sethrian put creamer, straws and sugar into a little a plastic bowl. He grabbed two of the mugs and carried them to the table, setting them down along with the other things. "For you," he told Gwendolyn, pushing the cup toward her. "If you dislike the taste black, the creamer and sugar will soften the bitterness for you. Many people prefer it sweeter." The other mug, he pushed toward his grandmother.

"Thank you, my dear."

Persephone Mikelovitch

User Image
Persephone poked her head into the student lounge and scanned the room with growing disinterest. No sign of Percy. Hmph. She slipped through the door and plopped down unceremoniously in the nearest chair, throwing her knapsack onto the table with a rather loud clang. It shouldn't have made that noise, but Persephone had the far back pocket of her bag filled with broken metal bells and thin steel plates, just so that it would generate said disruptive sound whenever dropped onto a hard surface. This was originally done just to freak Percy out, as the high strung boy would, without fail, jump every time Persephone would drop her bag, even when he knew it was coming. Of course, she found the trick to be just as satisfying even after her and her sibling parted ways, and besides, all that extra weight turned her bag into a GREAT anti-mugging device.

She nonchalantly glanced around the lounge. It appeared to be fairly deserted, with only a few people, some of whom appearing related, sitting together, engrossed in their own polite little conversations.

BORING.

Persephone reached deep into the front pocket of her knapsack, proceeding to pull a rather banged up netbook out and onto the table. She flipped it open and flicked its power switch, grinning infinitesimally as her computer's operating system loudly declared that it was "starting up" with a quick fanfare of digital noise. Making noise in places that had an atmosphere of silence was incredibly fun. It wasn't that there wasn't noise in the lounge. No one was trying to be quiet. It was just that there was an atmosphere of quiet. Like in a library. Or at least, that's what Persephone thought.

Gwendolyn gave Marla a polite smile. "Well, I'll keep that in mind." Gwendolyn said as she gave a brief glance to the people who started to enter. She was a bit disappointed. She wanted to some some kind of off the wall creature. Like a walking lizard or something.

Renivere wanted to give Sethrian a hug right now, but darn it! She choose a bad time to pick up cups so she just returned his slight smile. She helped Sethrian bring the mugs and she distributed them to whoever was left and then she plopped down on one of the couches to enjoy her tea and chat some more with Sethrian's grandparents... and possibly Gwendolyn if she was up for chatting and not ready to just go run off and chat with the other people who had entered.

Oh right. She was trying coffee for the first time. Yup. She was sticking around. "Okay. Thanks." Gwendolyn said. She waved the aroma of the coffee towards her. It didn't smell sweet at all. She took a sip and almost cringed. Bitteeeeerrrr... Gwendolyn set it back down and waited for when no one was looking before she could add a ton of sugar and creamer to it like Sethrian had suggested.

But Renivere had caught it and almost laughed out loud but she pressed her hands to her lips. She turned her attention to Sethrian's grandparents. "How fare the trip? By boat was it not? This trip and the ocean was of great spectacles! Were merfolk seen?" And then Renivere began to wonder about Kamil's parents. Would they have been able to come?

"Mer...folk?" Simeon said, a little bewildered. "Ah, no. Well, to be honest, we spent most of our time in our cabin."

"There were some unusual people on the boat," Marla said. "Many of them seemed a little stand-offish." She smiled a little sheepishly. "To be honest, we did feel a bit out of place."

Sethrian understood what they meant. They were just normal Humans and with some of the other outlandish people at the school, probably, they felt uncomfortable trying to mingle with supernatural creatures.

"At any rate, you will have the opportunity to meet at least one merman--our friend Kamil."

"Yes, you mentioned him," Marla said faintly. Though she'd never known Sethrian to lie about anything, she had to admit she'd never taken his mentionings of Kamil all that seriously. "I shall look forward to it."

Penelope and Persephone Mikelovitch
User Image User Image

Penelope opened the door to the student lounge and stood just inside the entrance. "Well... here we are." She said, waving her hand melodramatically around the room and grinning sheepishly.]"Louis Caros, I present to you... pause for dramatic effect... the student lounge! ehehe... in all of its ah... lounge-ey glory?"

She shoved her hands in her pockets and absentmindedly scanned the room. Well, THAT hadn't been cheesy or anything. She sighed inwardly and headed for a seat. She was absolutely horrible at making new friends. Come to think of it, she usually had more outgoing associates introduce her to other people. There had been this one guy at her old school in england who did that sort of thing, and before that was her sister-

She froze, halfway into a chair as she realized exactly who was sitting across from her. It was ... her sister.

WHAT?

When did she get here? Why was she here? Penelope was under the impression that Persephone would be staying at that school in scotland! The color drained from Penelope's face. Should she make a break for it? Her sister hadn't looked up from her netbook just yet, and she could always find Louis and explain why she had bolted some other time (or you know, just never talk to him again.) Not that she disliked her sister, it was just that sometimes she could be a little...

Persephone snapped her netbook shut and looked up... Well. That was unexpected. Her sister was sitting directly across from her, gawking as if she had just seen a ghost. Persephone stared back in silence for a minute before smiling widely."PENELOPE!" She exclaimed, causing her sibling to jump in surprise. She sprang out of her chair, launching herself up onto the table, across its smooth surface, and directly into her sister, causing the twins to both collapse to the floor. "How ARE you? It's so good to see you again!"

"P!... Persephone? What... Wh-what are you doing here?" Penelope pushed her sister away and scrambled to her feet. "I th-thought you were staying in Scotland!" She backed away towards Louis nervously before averting her gaze downward, glaring at the floor as if it had caused her some offense. "Are... are you here for family week?"

"Now now, no need to sound so excited to see me." Persephone said sarcastically. "And no, as a matter of fact. Ma and Dad kinda sorta coerced me into enrolling here! So guess what? We finally get to go to high school together!"

"Wh-wh- bu- it- she- the-" Penelope blubbered. "I mean ah... that's gr-reat news!... I... It'll be... ah... It'll be great t-to have you around! Yeah... ah..." She shot an apologetic look back to Louis. Mainly apologetic, because he'd have to deal with her sister.

Persephone grinned wolfishly, jumping to her feet as she closed the distance between her and her twin. "You're a horrible liar. Not that it really matters. Personally, I think we'll have a ton of fun together." She pinched her sister's cheek and laughed before slipping around her to stand just a little too close to Louis, staring at him and grinning menacingly. "And who are you?" She asked. "Penny's boyfriend? You do know she's a guy right? Unless she's finally come out of the closet." She laughed again, spinning and poking at her sister's ribs before skipping towards the door. After a statement like that, it was probably time for her to leave. "I'll catch you two lovebirds later! I heard there's a bonfire on the beach, and I haven't gone swimming in FOREVER."
(exit)

Penelope slowly turned to Louis, a mortified expression plastered on her face. "...Ha... Ha ha... My sister is... she's... such a kidder... ha." She shoved her hands into her pockets, her eyes glued to the floor. "But I'm not... I'm not a guy, honest. I'm... I'm not."

She could feel her eyes tearing up, and she quickly swiped her hand across her face to catch the moisture. "So... S-so yeah! Um... do you have any siblings?"

Glenn, Meileen, and Kamil Terrace

Kamil rushed into the student lounge and sure enough, Sethrian was there! And so was Renivere! And people! Could it be their families too? Oh good! Then they can meet Kamil's family. Kamil hurried over to Sethrian and Renivere. "Good! I finally found you guys! My family came, but there were some odd misunderstandings, but that doesn't matter since I found you! I want you guys to meet my dad and my mom--- Wha--!?" Kamil turned around to find that there was no one behind him.

He looked wildly around and found his father and mother looking at the vending machines. "What an odd thing this rectangular container. It is different than what you call the refrigerator as I cannot figure out the opening of this. It cannot open." Glenn remarked as he tried to open the vending machine like a refrigerator.

"Perhaps you have to hit it to open it." Meileen said thoughtfully. Kamil sprinted for his parents. "Stop, stop, stop! That's not how it works! It's like this!" Kamil rummaged through his pocket and got some money and then bought two drinks for his parents. Well, Kamil won't admit this out loud, but he did the same mistake as his parents when he first encountered a vending machine upon first coming to the surface. But Kamil was pretty sure that his dad's fist will do more damage than Kamil's.

"Ah, you have learned much, Kamil. Good work!" Glenn said as he ruffled his son's hair.

"Uh. Thanks! I couldn't have done it without my friends! Speaking of friends, why don't you guys meet them? Come on, follow me!" Kamil huffed as he led his parents to Renivere and Sethrian and their families. "Okay! This is Sethrian, my first ever friend here and Renivere, his girlfriend! And I think the rest are family that I have yet to meet yet. Everyone else, this is my dad, Glenn and my mom, Meileen."
