Yeah, that's got me curious now.
It's a pity there are no scriptures with instructions on mummification. Gosh that would be the archaeological find of the century wouldn't it?

It would be. But because nothing has been found yet and they've been finding all this other stuff on death they think that it was passed down orally.

Thanks...he'd been looking rather under the weather the last two weeks and well...
I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but I didn't realise my brother had taken a couple of last photos of him before I buried him...Bill had that cheeky smile on his face. I only saw the photos once I got back to uni. They make me miss him all the more.
I miss feeding him by hand, watching him chase moths, hearing him sing in the summertime and holding him in my hands.

emotion_hug While I haven't had a pet die on me, I do know what its like not to have them around anymore. When my parents got divorced my dad decided not to take the two cats we had when he gained custody of me and my sister and when my mom moved she moved into an apartment that didn't allow pets so she put them up for adoption. Then living with our dad we had gotten another cat because we were getting mice in the house and then got another one when we moved so he'd have a play mate because there were supposedly no mice in that house (they found some cat_whee Freaked my sister out and she'd start yelling at her cat to drop it and just let mine have it). But when my dad moved to Florida he didn't take the cats with him. And we couldn't take them to Mom's either. Even though she had moved the landlady(who's her friend) still had the no pets because she's allergic to cats. I had talked to my grandparents about letting them stay with them until I found them some place because I still wanted to be able to see them but after a couple days of going to their house to take care of them they weren't there anymore.

Oh that's always sad - I've never had to put up a pet for adoption but the idea of giving someone my beloved pet and not seeing it again sounds sad.
I've had many pets die on me - I guess I just miss Bill more because I've had him the longest. All my other pets have been fish, hermit crabs, yabbies and that one mouse from school. Fish really don't last long. Especially when they're in the same tank as the yabby. whee

It hurt. I cried for weeks. I started putting a bell on the yarn that I would tie around my neck for all the cats that get put up for adoption when we lost the first two. I didn't really do much for the second two. I had college and adjusting living with my mom.
I can see losing Bill hurting more than losing the other pets. We used to have fish before we got cats. Whenever they died it was "Oh we'll just go get a new one. What color do you want?" There isn't really much to do with them to try to bond with them. That I can see.

Yeah - our first fish lasted about a week and the next didn't last any longer.

Wow. I can't remember how long our fish lasted though. All I remember was the betas couldn't stay in the same tank as the other fish when we got them because they were mean little things to the others.
