[I'm here! D: I was building a bookcase this morning and then I needed to lie in front of the fan for a while. Jeepers it's hot.]
Takis escorts Vanya--or is she escorting him? he muses with a wan smile--to the fireside circle. He settles onto one of the rocks, warm from the fire already, and watches the story of the past unfold. He'd never heard of this! He's somewhat puzzled, as he feels that as a faun he should already know some of this. He was a faun, his parents were both fauns, and they'd never even heard of Laidsihiel until the calling earlier this day. Yet Vanya had always known the Great Tree to be home. Very puzzling indeed.
His curiosity is drawn to Rais' and the Earthmother's offering of branches. There were several types of wood present--would each of them be required to make an offering as well? He wonders idly what sort of wood he was born of. Perhaps cedar--flexible but strong. And aromatic. The thought makes him smile, and he puts his hand on top of Vanya's, giving it a little squeeze. He was pleased to feel that the long day was coming to a close, and perhaps soon he and Vanya would get some well-deserved rest. Especially Vanya.

Continuing her story, Earthmother tossed a handful of dust on the fire and colored smoke began to swirl and twist into figures. Whether they were recognized or not would depend on the level of connection each faun has to their past. First there was a big central figure, with two more on each side of him.
"Arda called upon his closest friends, so close to him, that he considered them brothers. He told them what he learned that last important meeting of the elements. Each in turn took an oath, bowed and pledged their life to Arda, swearing to protect the faun, and carry out his orders. That night, Arda's Circle was born."
The image of the five faun remained, but a greenish smoke encircled the group as a faint symbol appeared to replace them. The faun were now looking at the Sigil of the Sun. The symbol that bound them together in duty, and as brothers-in-arms.
"That sigil is a sign of their power, position and loyalty. Out of the bond of those five, a new power was born. A power to protect." Earthmother tossed some soil onto the fire and it crackled and sparked as if she'd just tossed gun powder on the blaze. The sigil twisted to form the shape of a rock giant.
"This is the form Rais Inner Circle will take, to protect Laisidhiel and her faun."
With another flourish, sprinkling of another combustible powder, the golem dispersed into the air, leaving the fire sparkling but not producing smoke for the time being.
"As the prophecy foretold, we fell. But while we fought, some of us worked behind the scenes to unsure our survival, and to make it possible for us to return again when the time was right. I saved every Acorn that I could. They were stashed away, hidden inside Laisidhiel. When news spread that Arda and his Circle had fallen, I began the ritual to save the remaining faun. The tree was surrounded by a protection spell, and it took every last bit of my magic and energy to keep it up while the tree uprooted itself. Blood Pae'il would never step foot inside our sacred tree.
Laisidhiel hid herself." Earthmother began to slowly wave her hands again and the smoke twirled into the familiar shape of the Tree. The smoke swirled, appearing to animate the scene as the Tree lifted from the ground, and then images showed the Tree floating away into the sky.
"Those precious Acorns rest dormant for hundreds of years. I lay within the Heart of Laisidhiel, healing in an unconscious state for just as long. We awoke before the magic call went out to all dormant ancients. Acorns began to hatch, and I rose, with child."
The image of the Tree was swept away with a light breeze, and the new smoke swirled to form the image of Earthmother with a small child holding her hand.
"Laisidhiel had saved Arda, and brought him back to me. And we re-established our society, rebuilt our lives and learned how to survive with the gifts Laisidhiel provided. We lived in peace, but many of the children had no knowledge of their past, or life on Telrunya. There was no talk of other Pae'il. We did not know when, or if we'd ever see another Pae'il again. I did not know of the prophecy at the time, as Arda has only told his Circle before he perished. I learned later, through the tree, and speaking with the spirits."
The next image had that same animation illusion as Laisidhiel formed, and the smoke showed the Tree on her island following behind the larger island as it glided through the air, eventually settling in to the sea.
"We do not know yet how Telrunya found Laisidhiel drifting in the sky, or why Telrunya was pulled down to the sea. But we do know their must be a greater purpose. We found the Queen of the Naiads, alive and thriving in the sea, far away from where Telrunya floated in the sky, born without any knowledge of Pae'il kind. The Ancients were rising, and Fate is bringing them home."
As Earthmother spoke about Queen Tariel, an image of the Naiad Queen formed in the smoke, but quickly faded as rain began to sprinkle and cause the fire to react to that instead of Earthmother's magic.
She took a deep breath and looked towards Rais. She wondered why the Water Element was speaking up, and what message it was trying to deliver. She kept her eyes on the water candle, and prayed silently that she did not offend Water.
The rain stopped abruptly. And as the fire calmed, Earthmother worked on regaining her confidence to continue. She decided to hold off the remaining history lesson for after the inductions. The elements were a little to antsy right now.
"The time has come, for each of you to join Rais Circle. You will swear an oath to our leader, pledge your service and in return, Laisidhiel will bestow the gifts required of your station."

Belvah gasped quietly to herself, watching the story. She could only smile as Queen Tariel, the trickster she'd met earlier in the day, appeared in the smoke. The faun would have to visit one day, to thank the queen for all she had done.
But the circle was more important now, and her attention returned to the story and Earthmother speaking.

((I will be controlling Rais for these, because Spooky had to step away.)) Earthmother lifted a branch given from a Holly tree, and stepped back from the fire.
"Mo. Please come forth." She said, holding the branch gently in her arms.
"Mo, you have been called for the position of Advisor, Second to Rais in command and leadership of Faun. The spirits have whispered to us that within you, lies the soul of our hero, The Bark.
He was nicknamed, The Bark, because he was our greatest protector, next to Arda. He was in charge of keeping Laisidhiel safe and secure, and keeping strangers out. He gave his life protecting Arda, giving him the precious time that was required for us to save the Tree and our unborn.
We can see in you that same spark that The Bark possessed. That same love and compassion. I knew him well.
While you may be the reborn hero, never forget that you are still Mo, and will always be Mo first. You do not have to follow in the footsteps of your former self, but instead, embrace what that hero within has to teach you, and carry on his vision for a peaceful world. This is your life, you cut your own path now.
You are young still, so the mantle of Advisor must wait until you are able to wear it. Stay close to Rais, and he will teach you everything you will need to know about leading our people. Your duties will be to protect Rais, and his family. To give him counsel in times of need. To provide the support he needs in order to lead us all. You will be standing in his stead when Rais is called away. You will only answer to Rais and Laisidhiel."
Holding the Holly branch out to Mo, Earthmother instructs him to take the branch and kneel before Rais. He is to put his closed hand over his heart and hold the branch extended towards the chief.---------------- Rais stands before the young faun, one hand behind his back, another hand at his side, with a small token hidden in his palm.
"Do you, Mo, accept the position of Advisor, Second in Command, and acknowledge that you will be hereby known as Mo of the Holly tree, and swear fealty to Laisidhiel, the Great Tree, and swear to protect and support Faun from all enemies, and show your people the compassion and respect they so deserve? Do you pledge allegiance to me, and promise to always speak truthful and carry yourself with dignity, chivalry and confidence as long as you serve as Advisor?"
After Mo swears his oath, Rais will instruct him to stand, offer his branch to the fire, and wait to see if Laisidhiel accepts his offering.
Upon accepting the offering, Laisidhiel will change Mo's branch antlers to those of a Holly tree, and Rais will present to him the sigil of the Inner Circle, bestowing the power to transform into a protection Golem.
"These are the vestments, trinkets and tools that you will need." Rais hands a bundle to Mo. Inside will be his leather armor, and other clothing items he will wear as an adult. ((Player Information: It is up to you what you want included in that bundle, but it is basically old items that once belonged to The Bark. The Bark is only the past hero's nickname. You are free to create the name of Mo's past life and any personal back story you would like for him to have. We will keep you informed of upcoming plots that will require Mo's attendance and action. If you have further questions about his duties, feel free to poke any staff member. His duties may expand as the plot plays out, but for now, he's going to learn from Rais until he is an adult, and then he'll assume the actual role of Second in Command. Mo's adult form will receive his edits. ))

Earthmother returned to the small stack of branches and lifted another up. This one given of a Willow tree.
"Vanya. Please come forth." She said, holding the branch gently in her arms.
"Vanya, you have been called for the position of Seer, spiritual leader and healer of Faun. The spirits have whispered to us that within you, lies the soul of our hero, The Roots.
He was nicknamed The Roots because he provided for us a grounded connection to the earth, allowing us to remain vigilant and strong in our beliefs. It is because of The Roots that we have these rituals and ceremonies so that we can make offerings and receive blessings. He cleared our spiritual path, giving us the great gift of divination through his connection to the spirit world. He was also our greatest healer, teaching many fauns the special craft of healing through magic, spiritual guidance, and potions.
It is interesting that The Roots chose to be reborn as a female. I believe the spirits willed it, because you will become a great teacher for Rais.
I seen in you, that same power he possessed, and you have already undergone the strenuous task to become our next Seer. You made the decision to sacrifice your earthly sight in order to gain spiritual sight, just as our first Seer set forth. You now possess your own spirit guide and have demonstrated skill and talent beyond your years.
I thank you for your sacrifice.
Your duties as Seer will have you providing spiritual guidance for all Faun. The spirits will speak directly to you, tell you what you need to know, when you need to know it. You will provide the training that our young healers seek, and you use the Nectar of Life to craft the healing potions faun may require. You will work closely with and counsel Rais. And dear, never be afraid to tell him when he's behaving like a fool. You two will grow to trust each other over anyone else. You will only answer to Rais, Mo and Laisidhiel. You are my equal, and will soon surpass me."
Holding the Willow branch out to Vanya, Earthmother instructs her to take the branch and kneel before Rais. She is to put her closed hand over her heart and hold the branch extended towards the chief.---------------- Rais stands before the fauness, one hand behind his back, another hand at his side, with a small token hidden in his palm. He chances a wry smile at his mother, acknowledging her remark about him behaving like a fool sometimes.
With a cough to clear his throat, he begins. "Do you, Vanya, accept the position of Seer, Spiritual Leader of all Faun, and acknowledge that you will be hereby known as Vanya of the Willow tree, and swear fealty to Laisidhiel, the Great Tree, and swear to protect and support Faun from all enemies, and show your people the compassion and respect they so deserve? Do you pledge allegiance to me, and promise to always speak truthful and carry yourself with dignity, chivalry and confidence as long as you serve as Advisor?"
After Vanya swears her oath, Rais will instruct her to stand, offer her branch to the fire, and wait to see if Laisidhiel accepts her offering.
Upon accepting the offering, Laisidhiel will change Vanya's branch antlers to those of a Willow tree, and Rais will present to her the sigil of the Inner Circle, bestowing the power to transform into a protection Golem.
"These are the vestments, trinkets and tools that you will need." Rais hands a bundle to Vanya. Inside will be her armor, and other clothing items she will wear. ((Player Information: It is up to you what you want included in that bundle, but it is basically old items that once belonged to The Roots. The Roots is only the past hero's nickname. ((I am a lil flustered typing these all up, so I forgot one bit of information from each of Mo and Vanya's post, so I will include it here.))
The Holly tree selected Mo because he embodies the virtues and strengths that Holly represents. As Rais is the Oak, strong and standing as King, Holly is second to the King, standing just as strong and symbolizing warriors. Holly is able to repel the lightning and stands as a strong metaphor for stubborn victories won.
The Willow tree selected Vanya because she has taken on the mantle of the seer, connecting her to a deeper plane and the spiritual realm, like the Willow represents. The Willow also provides a clear understanding of things, and is also known for its healing properties. The Willow is grounded, just The Roots and is a tree that can grow anywhere and survive even the harshest conditions.

Earthmother beamed a little at Vanya's acceptance. She'd grown attached to the girl in the short time she's known her. She looked forward to getting to know the rest of the circle as well. Turning her attention back to the branches, she lifted one from the Hazel Tree.
"Alistair. Please come forth." She said, holding the branch gently in her arms.
"Alistair, you have been called for the position of Grand Geomancer, Master of the Earth magics. The spirits have whispered to us that within you, lies the soul of our hero, The Ground.
He was nicknamed The Ground because of his power. He had the ability to lift the ground, command and reshape it. The ground bowed to his will. He was the most powerful geomancer, even surpassing Arda's skill.
We can see that spark of power residing within you. The Spirits can too, and foresee that you have the potential to surpass even The Ground.
The power of a geomancer does not come naturally. You will have to work hard to control the element. You must meditate and practice. Develop a bond with the Earth so that it will trust you, and follow your word."
Earthmother pulled a small leather bag from within one of the many pockets of her robe and handed it to Alistair. "Burn this incense when you are alone. Meditate and focus on the scent and inhale the vapors. It will clear your mind, allowing you to focus on the element and communicate more clearly with the spirits of the earth. You will not be perfect, or even good at it, at first, but if you practice and remain diligent, the power is yours. If you require more incense, feel free to attain it from either myself, or Vanya.
Your duties will be those of protection in the form of offense. You will use your magic to keep the enemy away from the Great Tree and all her inhabitants. You will also serve as mentor to those young faun who have the powers of earth, and teach them proper ways of wielding such power. You will only answer to Rais, Mo and Laisidhiel.
The Hazel tree spirit has chosen you, because you will be serving as the Grand Geomancer and you display the aspects that represent the sacred tree. The Hazel spirit represents magic, and deeper connections to the earth. It embodies creativity, and the nut from the tree carries with it properties of wisdom and knowledge."
Holding the Hazel branch out to Alistair, Earthmother instructs him to take the branch and kneel before Rais. He is to put his closed hand over his heart and hold the branch extended towards the chief.---------------- Rais stands before the young faun, one hand behind his back, another hand at his side, with a small token hidden in his palm.
"Do you, Alistair, accept the position of Grand Geomancer, and acknowledge that you will be hereby known as Alistair of the Hazel tree, and swear fealty to Laisidhiel, the Great Tree, and swear to protect and support Faun from all enemies, and show your people the compassion and respect they so deserve? Do you pledge allegiance to me, and promise to always speak truthful and carry yourself with dignity, chivalry and confidence as long as you serve as Advisor?"
After Alistair swears his oath, Rais will instruct him to stand, offer his branch to the fire, and wait to see if Laisidhiel accepts his offering.
Upon accepting the offering, Laisidhiel will create a lauren of Hazel leaves as a crown upon his head, because Alistair was blessed with unique antlers, and Rais will present to him the sigil of the Inner Circle, bestowing the power to transform into a protection Golem.
"These are the vestments, trinkets and tools that you will need." Rais hands a bundle to Alistair. Inside will be his armor, and other clothing items he will wear as an adult. ((Player Information: It is up to you what you want included in that bundle, but it is basically old items that once belonged to The Ground. The Ground is only the past hero's nickname. Holding a branch from the Alder tree, Earthmother calls the final member of the Inner Circle.
"Gulliver. Please come forth." She said, holding the branch gently in her arms.
"Gulliver, you have been called for the position of Captain of the Rangers. The spirits have whispered to us that within you, lies the soul of our hero, The Branch.
He was nicknamed The Branch because he headed represented all of the branches--soldiers--fighting to protect Laisidhiel and the Faun.
We see within you, Gulliver, that drive to be a good and strong leader. We know that you will be successful as leading the Faun soldiers in times of need.
There is no special power, gift or trinket that will help you be a Ranger. You become a Ranger by hard work, perseverance and lots of training. You must work hard to be a good example for your troops."
Your duties will be those of protection in the form of offense. You will be required to recruit and train new members of the Rangers so that will have a proper fighting force. You are in charge of all solders, and will only answer to Rais, Mo and Laisidhiel.
The Alder tree spirit has chosen you, because you will be serving as the Captain of the Rangers and you display the aspects that represent the sacred tree. The Alder spirit represents defense, tranquility and generosity."
Holding the Alder branch out to Gulliver, Earthmother instructs him to take the branch and kneel before Rais. He is to put his closed hand over his heart and hold the branch extended towards the chief.---------------- Rais stands before the young faun, one hand behind his back, another hand at his side, with a small token hidden in his palm.
"Do you, Gulliver, accept the position of Captain of the Rangers, and acknowledge that you will be hereby known as Gulliver of the Alder tree, and swear fealty to Laisidhiel, the Great Tree, and swear to protect and support Faun from all enemies, and show your people the compassion and respect they so deserve? Do you pledge allegiance to me, and promise to always speak truthful and carry yourself with dignity, chivalry and confidence as long as you serve as Captain of the Rangers?"
After Gulliver swears his oath, Rais will instruct him to stand, offer his branch to the fire, and wait to see if Laisidhiel accepts his offering.
Upon accepting the offering, Laisidhiel will transform his branch antlers into those of the Alder tree, and Rais will present to him the sigil of the Inner Circle, bestowing the power to transform into a protection Golem.
"These are the vestments, trinkets and tools that you will need." Rais hands a bundle to Alistair. Inside will be his armor, and other clothing items he will wear. Rais also hands him a large golden bow. "This was the bow The Branch used in the final battle." he mentions, solemnly. "Welcome to Rais Circle. You four, along with Rais, are our leaders and guides, and responsible for the safety of our kind. We thank you for your sacrifices and hard work."
Earthmother bowed before the four newly inducted faun.
"You are welcome to take a seat now. We'll be inducting the Outer Circle, and providing them with the blessings and directions they require to serve Laisidhiel and Faun."
Earthmother picked up an apple branch that still had blossoms and small apples dangling from it.
"Caleigh. Please come forth." She said, holding the branch gently in her arms.
You have been called to be my successor, and serve as Matron to the Faun. The duties of a Matron are many, but the rewards make it worth it. You will be the role model and mentor to the females among the tribe. You will set the standards for which females must follow.
You will also be the one to find mates for those faun who are unable to do so on their own, such as I did for my son.
I have already given you the special runes that the Matron will depend on. Those runes will provide answers to any question you, or the females may have. They are charged specially to cater to female energies, however they will work decently well with the males. Trust in them.
You also will have the special and unique honor of tutoring the children born to the chief and his wife. You will be the one to teach them about the roles of the males and females withing our society.
You are welcome to come to me anytime you have questions or need assistance. I am always available for you.
The Apple tree spirit has chosen you, because you will be serving as the Matron and you display the aspects that represent the sacred tree. It is fitting that the Apple spirit has chosen you, as it represents beauty, sensuality, love and seduction. All important qualities for a Matron to possess."
Holding the Apple branch out to Caleigh, Earthmother instructs her to take the branch and kneel before Rais. She is to put her open hand over her heart and hold the branch extended towards the chief.---------------- Rais stands before the fauness, both hands behind his back.
"Do you, Caleigh, accept the position of Matron, and acknowledge that you will be hereby known as Caleigh of the Apple tree, and swear fealty to Laisidhiel, the Great Tree, and swear to protect and support our females, and show your people the compassion and respect they so deserve? Do you pledge allegiance to me, and promise to always speak truthful and carry yourself with dignity, grace and confidence as long as you serve as Matron? And do you pledge to uphold the traditions of our culture and promise to guide our females and children in a way that is true to our way of life, without undo influence from those not of our society?"
After Caleigh swears her oath, Rais will instruct her to stand, offer her branch to the fire, and wait to see if Laisidhiel accepts her offering.
Upon accepting the offering, Laisidhiel will transform her branch antlers into those of the Apple tree.
"These are the vestments, trinkets and tools that you will need." Rais hands a bundle to Caleigh. Inside will be her clothing and other items she will wear. Caleigh moved to get up from the smooth stone and approached the Earthmother, her short blond hair swaying in the move. Once there, she bowed her head before taking the apple branch and took a light sniff of it. "Pretty smelling," she chirped and gave a nod before moving over to Rais. The spotted hyena held out the branch and a hand over her heart.
"I accep the position as Matron and to be known as Caleigh the Apple Tree," Caleigh said carefully. She definitely did not want to screw this up for herself. "I swear my loyality to Ladishel and to Rais the Oak," she murmured before standing up and tossed the apple branch into the fire, watching it spit and crackle with it.
She felt something growing that is for sure, but she could not see it. She moved her hands upwards. The spotted hyena's face was one of surprise. "T-thank you, Chieftain Rais," she stammered, taking the bundle that was given to her. She was in shock at the transformation, but she had enough manners to move off to let the others come up.

Earthmother picked up an Elm tree branch.
"Amadorine. Please come forth." She said, holding the branch gently in her arms.
You have been called to be our Pathfinder. The spirits whispered to Rais that you would be the perfect fit for this important position because you choose to live on the island, and we need our Pathfinder positioned in the field.
You duty will be to report back to Rais or Mo when you notice any suspicious activity or movement from the other inhabitants of the island. We have enemies here, and we know they are numerous. You will be our first line of defense by keeping us updated on what you find.
You were provided a special protection charm that will aid you in your covert missions. You are also not to disclose the information you gather with anyone other than Rais or Mo. Not even your mate, because we do not know what information might put you in danger.
The Elm tree spirit has chosen you, because you will be serving as the Pathfinder and you display the aspects that represent the sacred tree. The Elm spirit embodies strength of will and intuition."
Holding the Elm branch out to Amadorine, Earthmother instructs her to take the branch and kneel before Rais. She is to put her open hand over her heart and hold the branch extended towards the chief.---------------- Rais stands before the fauness, both hands behind his back.
"Do you, Amadorine, accept the position of Pathfinder, and acknowledge that you will be hereby known as Amadorine of the Elm tree, and swear fealty to Laisidhiel, the Great Tree, and swear to protect and support our females, and show your people the compassion and respect they so deserve? Do you pledge allegiance to me, and promise to always speak truthful and carry yourself with dignity, grace and confidence as long as you serve as Pathfinder? And do you pledge to maintain secrecy of the information you obtain and to deliver only to the proper chain of authority?"
After Amadorine swears her oath, Rais will instruct her to stand, offer her branch to the fire, and wait to see if Laisidhiel accepts her offering.
Upon accepting the offering, Laisidhiel will transform her branch antlers into those of the Elm tree.
"These are the vestments, trinkets and tools that you will need." Rais hands a bundle to Amadorine. Inside will be her clothing and other items she will wear. "This will aid you," he says as he lifts a small lantern and hands it to her. "It has a special amber filament that when it glows, only the person who posses the protection charm can see. It will allow you to see in the dark, and remain undetected." Earthmother next picked up a Birch tree branch.
"Takis. Please come forth." She said, holding the branch gently in her arms.
You have been called to be our Tree Shaper. This is a very important position among Faun. You are our master craftsman, an artist and our home designer.
You will be gaining insight and a link to Laisidhiel. It will not be a full link, such as the one Rais, Vanya or I share with the Great Tree, but you will be able to hear her thoughts and feel her emotions when you touch her. She will guide you to where you are able to remove wood, or shape for a new nook for a faun to live, so that you do not injure or remove too much without letting more grow in its place.
Each nook within Laisidhiel was carved out by our former Tree Shaper before The Tree was cast away from the rest of Telrunya. He did not use tools, but merely his hands, guiding the wood as if it were as pliable as clay. Laisidhiel's gift is allowing the Tree Shaper the power to mold wood with his hands, because sharp tools will indeed injur our beloved Tree. There are spaces set aside for newer generations, and you, Takis, will be the one to shape the homes of our progeny.
You will also be the crafter of our tools. The branches of Laisidhiel need to be pruned as with any tree, and it is with that wood that you will form the tools and equipment we will use.
And you will be our greatest Artist! shaping the wood, carving the delicate murals that adorn our walls and hallways.
The Birch tree spirit has chosen you, because you will be serving as the Tree Shaper and you display the aspects that represent the sacred tree. The Birch spirit embodies adaptability, growth, renewal and stability."
Holding the Birch branch out to Takis, Earthmother instructs him to take the branch and kneel before Rais. He is to put his open hand over his heart and hold the branch extended towards the chief.---------------- Rais stands before the faun, both hands behind his back.
"Do you, Takis, accept the position of Tree Shaper, and acknowledge that you will be hereby known as Takis of the Birch tree, and swear fealty to Laisidhiel, the Great Tree, and swear to protect, heal and support her? Do you pledge allegiance to me, and promise to always speak truthful and carry yourself with dignity, chivalry and confidence as long as you serve as Tree Shaper? And do you pledge to always take care of Laisidhiel, to heal her wounds and heed her words?"
After Takis swears his oath, Rais will instruct him to stand, offer his branch to the fire, and wait to see if Laisidhiel accepts his offering.
Upon accepting the offering, Laisidhiel will transform his branch antlers into those of the Birch tree.
"My mother has already bestowed the vestments of our ancestors. But I wanted to give my own gift." Rais handed to Takis a small vial filled with a translucent orange liquid. "It's a vial of Laisidhiel's sap--her blood. Under normal circumstances, it crystallizes immediately when it hits the air, but that was collected under unique circumstances and was given to Arda by the first Tree Shaper. Keep it safe, and it will keep you safe."
The item that Rais gave to Takis is a magical relic that will allow him to "stick" to Laisidhiel and climb or hang on without the need for ladders, ropes or any other tree-climbing rig. ((We will keep you informed of upcoming plots that will require Takis's attendance and action. If you have further questions about his duties, feel free to poke any staff member. His duties may expand as the plot plays out. Takis' branch-antlers are unique in that he was born in winter, so his branches are of a Birch in winter, and faun with special tree-themed antlers will have them fit to whichever season they are born in. ))

Earthmother next picked up a Mistletoe branch.
"Pan. Please come forth." She said, holding the branch gently in her arms.
You have been called to be our Gardener, and tend to our special garden.
Some of Laisidhiel's roots are hollow, allowing us access to the nutrient rich soil and life-giving roots of the Tree itself. We keep a nursery down among those roots, which not only protects our special Acorns, but provides warmth and nutrients to the babies inside until they are ready to hatch.
Pan, you will be the special faun that tends to those Acorns, sees that they are all getting the care they deserve, and aids in those that are hatching. You will guide them through the labyrinth that is Laisidhiel's root system so they can emerge safe and secure.
Your gift of music will come in handy, as music soothes the Acorns and delights the babies.
As the Gardener, you will also patrol the root tunnels making sure there are no cracks or holes. You will also protect the roots from invaders that threaten our Great Tree, such as insects and burrowing animals.
The Mistletoe tree spirit has chosen you, because you will be serving as the The Gardener and you display the aspects that represent the sacred tree. It may seem like an odd choice, but Mistletoe is very fitting for you and your position. The Mistletoe spirit represents those males with inclination towards feminine duties. And Gardener has typically been a female position in Laisidhiel, but the spirits chose you. Mistletoe also represents protecting children, which is also a very important part of your duties."
Holding the Mistletoe branch out to Pan, Earthmother instructs him to take the branch and kneel before Rais. He is to put his open hand over his heart and hold the branch extended towards the chief.---------------- Rais stands before the faun, both hands behind his back.
"Do you, Pan, accept the position of Gardener, and acknowledge that you will be hereby known as Pan of the Mistletoe, and swear fealty to Laisidhiel, the Great Tree, and swear to protect and support her precious Acorns? Do you pledge allegiance to me, and promise to always speak truthful and carry yourself with dignity, chivalry and confidence as long as you serve as Gardener? And do you pledge to always put the children first; their needs, their care and their well-being? They are our most precious resource, and their lives are in your hands."
After Pan swears his oath, Rais will instruct him to stand, offer his branch to the fire, and wait to see if Laisidhiel accepts his offering.
Upon accepting the offering, Laisidhiel will transform his branch antlers into those of the Mistletoe.
"These are the vestments, trinkets and tools that you will need." Rais hands a bundle to Pan. Inside will be his clothing and other items he will need for his position. ((It is up to you what you want included in that bundle. His duties may expand as the plot plays out. ))

Takis had watched in awe as the antlers of all those members of the Circles who'd come before him transformed into majestic representations of their inner trees. He couldn't help himself--when Vanya had returned to her seat next to him, he reached up and touched her new antlers. He smiled at her, and, in a fit of tired happiness, gave her ear a fond tweak. "They look lovely," he'd murmured.
And then his turn had come and Takis found his heart beating a tattoo in his chest. Shaking from nerves and near-exhaustion, he stands and takes the branch from the Earthmother with a solemn nod. So, it was birch for him, then. Takis of the birch tree. Not bad. He still liked the sound of cedar trees, but there was no reason he couldn't still enjoy all types of trees just because the birch had chosen him. He blinks himself out of his thoughts and tries to focus again on the Earthmother's description of his duties and position within Laisidhiel. A carpenter of sorts he was to be, it seemed. Working with only his hands? He looks down at his free hand. He can hardly believe it, although after everything he'd seen today he was more likely to believe the improbable. And an artist! He'd never really thought of himself as an artist, although he did enjoy creating and restoring things, so he supposes it isn't too far off. He wonders if the past Tree Shaper had carved the gorgeous mural that hid Vanya's chamber. He wonders if he'd ever be able to rival its beauty.
Taking the birch branch, he kneels before Rais, his newfound chief. He puts his left hand, his dominant hand, over his heart, and holds the branch in his right, out toward Rais. "I do accept the position of Tree Shaper, and gladly accept my new title as Takis of the birch tree. I swear fealty to Laisidhiel and will use all of my talents and power to protect, heal, and support her and her inhabitants." He pauses to take a breath or two. "I do swear my allegiance to you, my chief, and promise to speak the truth and carry myself with dignity, chivalry, and confidence." What beautiful words! "And I pledge to always take care of our Great Tree, and to heal her wounds and heed her words." He smiles gently as he finishes, and softly tosses his branch onto the fire, adding to the rituals of those who had come before him.
As the wood is consumed, Takis feels his own antlers grow and change. He gives a little surprised gasp and touches them once they've finished growing. They feel prickly and devoid of foliage. This puzzles him greatly as he glances around the circle and sees the antlers of all his fellows full and thick with leaves. Surely the Tree Shaper deserved a few leaves...? Perhaps he'd ask the Earthmother about it later. Right now Rais was offering something to him. Takis takes the vial and turns it over once in his palm. "Thank you," he says, resolving to find a cord to tie it around his neck.
He stands and goes back to his seat next to Vanya and takes a few deep, calming breaths.
