x﹙ Then on my surfboard out at sea ﹚
xx﹙ Lingering in the ocean blue ﹚
xxx﹙And If I had one wish come true ﹚  At one point Leilani bent down low, her hands almost touching the ground as she clapped twice before she moved her arms in a circular motion, creating a circle with her fingers above her head. "Nau wale no, m' aikua'ana, ne'lu hula." She said gently as she brought her hands down from over her head to in front of her, outstretched like she was holding something out to him. At that moment, she opened her eyes, her brilliant blue iris' glistening in the sun before she continued. "A haole, ho`opono a'no ohana." She twirled around, her hands reaching past her left side before she stood on one foot, side stepping to the left with a graceful slide. She then brought her hands up, interchanging her arms from one up and the other down, and again but opposite. "Ani'o'po ho`okipa." She then interchanged her feet, almost stomping, but on the balls of her feet so it made no noise. She had taken off her shoes prior to dancing and she didn't care if she got her feet dirty. She was having so much fun with this. She then motioned her hands towards herself, them on either side of her. "Ho'okomo. ho'okomo!" She then spun around, sliding her right foot in a half circle as the rest of her body weight was on her left foot. "Apu ikaika, na'ni `olu`olu." Her hips rolled with expert precision as she then fell down to one knee, her hands face down before her before she bent up her wrists and made a sweeping motion, the action causing her to stand up once more. "Alo mahina ho'i'kana moana." She then flicked her wrists a few times in a circular motion as she threw back her head, her off-colored hair spilling out behind her as she spun around again, hoping on her foot for a moment before planting the foot straight down, her hands clapping twice. "Mahalo e ke Akua no keia la," She reached up to the sky, clapping again before she let her arms fan out, falling slowly to her side. She then took a few steps towards Tennessee and then knelt down on one knee, doing the same motion again. "No keia la, no keia po, a mau loa, mi koa paniolo, mahalo ne'la'i Pele ao'li'na pomaika'i 'n lanakila." She then looked up to him, her arms outstretched towards him, her eyes shining brightly as she smiled. "Aloha au Ia 'oe, m' aikua'ana, m' ohana." While kneeling on the ground, Leilani made a sweeping gesture, her hands covering her heart before outstretching them to him once more. And with that, her dance had ended. She giggled softly as the crowd of people began to clap, causing her to blush gently as she stood up, rubbing her right arm out of nervousness as she waved at them quickly. Many of them complimented her from afar, but all she really wanted to know was how her brother liked it. "Andrew, did you um, did you like it?" She asked him as she fixed her hair and dress slightly, waiting for his response, her face pink from the dancing as well as the blushing. （HawaiianRollarcoasterRide - . . .）

Andrew S. Hickory //////////////////////////////// Tennessee blushed and felt a little embarrassed to have Leilani's dance focused towards him, but he smiled and couldn't help feeling touched as he realized this was for him. No, he had no idea what she was saying and couldn't even begin to translate her words, but Hawaii's dance and movements spoke as clearly as any speech she could give. When she was finished dancing he clapped along with some of their audience and chuckled at her shyness. When Leilani turned around and asked his opinion, Andrew smiled brightly. "Of course I liked it," he said cheerfully. "That was fun! This music is really great, Leilani. You came up with it and the dancin' all by yourself?" //////////////////////////////// Grade 9

xxx﹙And If I had one wish come true ﹚ Thinking about it for a moment, Leilani decided that since she wasn't dancing anymore, now would be a good time to put on her blac flats, which were underneath the bench where she had been sitting earlier. "Well, how do I say this.." The island state began as she sat down and slipped on her flats, her blue locks falling over her eyes as she made sure that her legs were closed, so no one could look up her dress, even if they wanted to. "Since I was a Polynesian territory when I was a lot younger, I picked up on a few things of theirs and modified it to be my own. You see, Polynesian dancing has a lot faster beat to it and is mainly played with a variety of drums." She said as she took out her hibiscus clip and readjusted it so that it was in its proper place once more. "So instead of that intense show of force and skill, I decided to make it more relaxed, more about storytelling. You can tell whole narratives through hula dancing, and its pretty easy to learn if you're willing to get past that beginning, awkward stage." She said with a soft smile as she placed her hands on her knees, kicking out her legs like a child would. "But the music aspect, yes, I came up with that on my own. Although I recieved my guitars from Mexico and my ukelele's from Portugal. Still, the style is very much my own." （HawaiianRollarcoasterRide - . . .）

Freshman "What? really?" She didn't know that another family member had caused problems for the girl. First England and now her? Was her siblings trying to have every nation dislike them. "I'm sorry... I didn't know." she looked away, a bit dissapointed. "I swear that not everyone in my family is like that. I don't know what's gotten into them lately. Not long along I was saving my brother Andrew from fighting with Arthur." She looked around a bit to the area around them. "But it's too pretty of a day to dwell on such things. Unlike some of my brothers and sisters. I chose to come here to learn new things and get to know other countries..."(Out of Pepsi:)

Andrew S. Hickory //////////////////////////////// "Polynesian?" Andrew repeated and blinked at her as if he had never heard of such a thing before in his life. He tilted his head to the side while he mentally chewed that over. "I didn't know you belonged to anyone named... Polynesia?" he tried although the oblivious state obviously had no idea who or where that was and probably hadn't even been aware of such a nation existing until that moment. Tennessee was thoughtful as he listened to her descriptions of the dance. "I think I like the relaxin' storytellin' better," he said. "It seems like it suits you better... 'Least I think so." He smiled a bit sheepishly wondering if it was rude of him to say that since they didn't know each other too well just yet, but Andrew felt like Hawaii's music and dancing really did capture her charms nicely. //////////////////////////////// Grade 9

xxx﹙And If I had one wish come true ﹚ Oh that's right, he's from the East Coast, he wouldn't know anything about Polynesia, would he? Leilani immediately thought as he questioned her belonging to the group of various islands. "Well, to put it in an as simple way as I possibly can. Polynesia is a rather large cluster of various islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, near Mexico." She began to explain, although some facts were a bit fuzzy. "My islands are the topmost of this collection, which include the Cook Islands, Christmas Island, and Johnston Island, to name a few of the 1,000 islands that are in it. Well, since I was so far away, the Polynesians couldn't reach me a lot of the time (she had no idea what really happened, this is all from her perspective) and over time, all of the islands became territories for France and other nations. The rest of my history I think I've explain before though." She told him before he complimented her about her dancing skills and that it was a good suit for her personality. In many ways it was, it was a way for her to be confident in something she loved, well, besides surfing. Oh, she wished there was a beach nearby, then Andrew would know where her true strength lied. "Well thanks, that's really nice of you to say." She said to him as she gave a soft blush. But she then realized something. "Y-You had no idea what I was saying when I was dancing, did you?" Of course he didn't, it was her own damn language! He wouldn't know anything other than the stereotypical "Aloha~". Ugh, she hated it when mainlanders used it as a joke. （HawaiianRollarcoasterRide - . . .）

He had been trying hard to process and remember the little geography and history lesson she had given him beyond the Leilani has a Chrstimas island!? part. It took him a moment to realize what she said before blushing softly. "No, I don't understand any Hawaiian but..." Andrew thoughtfully looked down at his guitar which was still laying across his lap in a dobro position. His fingers trailed the instrument while he tried to sum up his thoughts. "When you were dancin' I got this feelin' like... I don't know how to say it exactly... it made me feel like we really are brother and sister. Not just adopted, I mean. I always thought you didn't like me and the others much so it felt nice to see you openin' up like that. I... I really like it when you treat me like family." He blushed and glanced down at the guitar, wondering if he was saying something stupid or offensive again. "Sorry... xxx﹙And If I had one wish come true ﹚ In many ways, Andrew was right. When she was first adopted into statehood, no long before that, when America was still trying to find its voice, Leilani never liked the other colonies and states. They seemed so serious and destructive. Plus they were on the other side of the country from her, so she didn't see them enough to really observe their habits and watch them grow into the people they are today. The only thing that she remembered from that time was sitting on the beach, drawing a circle in the sand while time passed her by. She gad gone through wars, various invasions, political corruption, forced outsourcing, and disease, but still the worst of it all was being alone at the end of the day. The other Polynesian islands stopped talking to her as she became more "popular" with the powerful Western nations. But she had to stop thinking about that, about how much she detested the states back then, now was a time of change, a time of growth. She wanted to grow as a person and she wanted the relationship with her siblings to grow and strengthen as well. Still staring down at her lap, her hands clutched her dress as she continued to kick her legs back and forth like a child, which she still technically was. "Just for you, my brother, a dance." She began almost out of nowhere. It was what she said during her dance and she hoped that Andrew would pick up on that so she didn't seem like an idiot. "A foreigner, faithful to family. Such hospitality. Come in, come in!" She took in a shaky breath, but continued, not making any eye contact with him. "So strong, yet so nice. Like the moon with the ocean." She then stopped for a moment, her face now a bright pink as she forced herself to say what she did then, but now in a language that he understood. Why did she have to bring it up? "T-Thanks be to God for this day. From this day, from this night, forever more, my strong cowboy, thank you and I pray Pele shall allow good luck and happiness." She stopped again before she gulped, her face now a dark red, althoguh her bangs covered her face well enough that he couldn't see it. "I-I love you, my brother, my family." When she stopped, she sat there in this awkward silence, her hands still in called fists with her dress clasped inside, she almost shook from the amount of embarrassment she was going through, her eyes still closed as she waited and listened, hoping that Tennessee would understand again, like he did before. （HawaiianRollarcoasterRide - . . .）

R a i v i s G a l a n t eFreshmen  Raivis had stayed on the play ground when Leilani left, he had been watching TN and HA, it was great they were getting along now, he thought about going over but changed his mind since TN still scared him a little.
Plus HE didn't want to disturbed them since he was enjoying the music that came form the two, he also really liked his room mates dance she had done, Raivis could dance but not in the way Leilani did.

Andrew S. Hickory //////////////////////////////// Tennessee looked up from his guitar in surprise when Leilani started translating her message. For a moment he thought it might have been simply the lyrics to an old song, but as she continued he realized these were her own words spoken from the heart. Andrew watched her quietly until she finished and in that moment Hawaii seemed so strong and frail at the same time. It took a lot of courage to put herself out there in front of him, especially for a girl who had been so guarded until recently, but Andrew felt as though she could shatter to pieces if he dared to even touch her. The silence between them was only a few seconds, but it felt like eons had passed while he mentally fumbled with the fact Hawaii had said she loved him and called him family. "Y... You really mean all that, Leilani?" he asked softly as a faint blush dusted over his cheeks. Even though a small part of Andrew feared she might break apart under his finger tips, the older state hesitated before reaching over and pulling her closer against his side in a one armed hug. He smiled down at his petite little sister. Tennessee didn't trust himself not to say something stupid and ruin the moment, but he was obviously happy and was glad the younger state really wanted to be part of his family. "What was that word you used? The one that means family, again?" he asked. //////////////////////////////// Grade 9

but peace only under liberty.  Leah had left Scott's dorm and had headed to the park since the states were getting together there. The oldest state let out a yawn she had a long day. She looked around and spotted HA and TN. Quickly she was over too them "HEY GUYS!!" she said back into her really good mood. Massy had a very large smile on her face as she spoke.
"Hi Leilani I haven’t seen you forever!" she exclaimed, Massy being the oldest and HA being the youngest made it hard for them to see each other also the lived on different sides of the US.
The stae then turned go Andrew, "hey fluffy!" she said rubbing his head, yes Massy just called him Fluffy, that was now her knew nickname for TN. Fluffy.
Yet Massy didn't know she was interrupting anything.
