Name for Mortal: Daniel "Owl" Tomlyn
Brief Bio (What's he do? Where's he from? history and personality and all that jazz): Owl (so named due to his nocturnal study habits) comes from an Earth remarkably similar to our own, only darker, more polluted (World of Darkness Earth). He considers himself something of a rogue scholar since the things he prefers to study are the beings and monsters of old legend. Bigfoot? Nessie? PFFFT! Those are nothing more than animals who haven't been properly studied and catalogued yet. The Madagascar Man-Eating shrubbery? Please! A rather interesting story to make up for a very uninteresting little plant. And don't even get Owl started on alien conspiracy theories unless you want to have your eardrums ruptured by the force of his scorn.
But monsters, faeries and the like... That's where he directs the majority of his intellect to. He believes in monsters and desires to seek them out, learn their ways. In spite of what everyone tells him, he is convinced that monsters are real. And he strongly suspects that some of them have managed to blend rather convincingly in with the sheep. In fact, it was during one of his nightly hunts that he stumbled upon a place in the wild where wolves and other beasts gathered and sang to the moon. Granted, the singing stopped quickly once he appeared, but he saw something strange... A wolf who simply vanished into thin air. Racing to the spot, Owl caught a quick glimpse of a bit of mirror laying on the ground where the wolf had stood. And with that glance, his world was turned upside down. He found himself lost in the Umbra, chasing after spirit things and desperately trying to find a way out. And when he did, it certainly wasn't HIS earth that he'd stepped out into.
Owl is stubborn, intellectual and convinced that he's the only one who has any idea of what is going on. Of course, after being trapped in the Umbra for who knows how long, his psyche has fractured slightly, making him a strange mixture of timid and brave. He understands things now that mere mortals probably shouldn't. Yet, in some ways, this has made him more receptive to the various inhabitants of the Edel world. After all, why bother with monsters when you have gods to study now?
What god will he follow if you win him?: Tilion
What book is he holding?: One he's written himself, 'A Survivor's Guide to the Spirit Realm.'
