Metal looked at Doll. "I still don't like this plan. What if you accidently hit me?"
"Then I accidently hit you. Simple as that." Tails Doll replied calmly, looking at him. "I'll repair you later, if there's anything left."
Sonic went to the door. "What do you want now, robo-faces?"
"A race, I suppose you could say." Doll turned his gaze on Sonic.
"A race?" Sonic blinked.
"Of sorts, yes." Tails Doll nodded. "Both you and Metal are incredibly fast beings. As you are equally matched in fighting power, what is the other way to settle this arguement of who is the real Sonic? Speed, of course."

Justin gave Metal a glare. Not Doll, though. He was still kinda scared of that thing. "A race, huh? How do we know you're not lying? And how can we know if Mr. Freakwad over there won't cheat for ya?" He asked Metal.

"Ah, but you see, this isn't your ordinary race. I won't be able to assist Metal, as I will be controlling the robot with the lazer."
"Lazer? All right, NOW you're talking." Sonic grinned.
"The race is endless. If one of you stumbles, falls, or even slows down a little, the mech's lazer will hit you, and you will die. Proving who is the Supersonic hedgehog."
"But Tails, I've seen that 'robot' of yours. The 'lazer' is a death beam. If I lost, there wouldn't be anything LEFT of me to repair." Metal said, glaring at Doll.
"If so, then it only shows you are useless." He said, smiling creepily.

Justin had mixed thoughts on this. If Metal slowed down, he'd be scrapped. But if the REAL Sonic slowed down, Justin and the others would be sweeping up his guts. This could go either way.

Obviously, Sonic had the thought of himself if he got hit by the lazer. He had a face white as snow, and an expression of shock etched all over it. "Uhhhhmmmmmm....Can I-?"
"Think on this? Metal still has not made up his mind on this. However, now is time for both of you to decide. Will you race, or will you not?" Tails Doll tilted his head to the side.
The two Sonics looked at each other, then at Tails Doll, and nodded. "We'll do it."
Tails Doll's creepy smile appeared. "Excellent. When you are ready, I will transport us to the race course."
"Uhm, can I bring my friends along?"
He nodded. "But note they will be unable to help you during this event."
Sonic nodded again, and ran inside. He came back in a few moments with Knuckles, Luna, Rouge, and Tails.

Justin had a bad feeling about this whole thing. He then walked over to the real Tails. "Can ya fix my suit before this race starts?" He whispered. He had a plan. He was gonna try take out Tails Doll during the race, and stop the laser.

"I don't know if I can do it before the race, but I'll try to have it finished as soon as I can." Tails whispered back. "Whydo you need it? You won't even be fighting."
Sonic looked at Doll. "Okay, transport us!"
Tails Doll nodded. He raised his arms, looking up at the sky. A purple, mostly-transparent half-circle covered the group.
The real Tails leaped back out of it, just before it vanished, along with the people inside. "Woah." He ran to his garage.

They had appeared on a narrow path....in space? There was seats aligned on either side of it, for spectators. Glancing down the path, it was like an intense rollercoaster that they wouldn't even allow in amusement parks. Loops, drops, jumps, spikes....Everything you could think of.
"Oh wow. I'll admit, that's impressive." Rouge commented, gazing around.
"How're we breathing?" Knuckles asked curiously, staring around in awe.
"Who knows, and who cares? That's like asking how me and Shadow were breathing when we fought his Prototype! Both are pure awsomeness!" Sonic said happily, grinning broadly.
"Just remember there's a possibility you'll meet your death here, Sonic." Luna reminded him, sighing.
"Let him admire his surroundings. After all, he won't be able to if he has to outrun my machine." Tails Doll said. He held out his arm to indicate the robot sitting behind them. It's chest had a plate down, where there was a seat. Doll floated over to it, getting inside. "Good luck, both of you." He pressed a button, and the hatch closed. The suit opened it's eyes, standing. It turned to face them. "Allow me to introduce Omega3901, or Omega for short." It said, in Tails Doll's voice.
"Oh God, would Tails be jealous of that if he were here." Sonic said, staring.

Justin got transported as well. He was both impressed, and terrified by what he saw. "So, basically, these two are gonna race across this death trap, while avoiding getting nuked by a killer robot?" He asked Tails Doll. "Sounds like a hell of a good time." He said sarcastically. Sadly, Tails was not here, so his plan to stop Doll was a bust.

"Pretty much, yeah." Metal said, glaring at Doll.
Sonic crouched, stretching his legs. "It's been nice knowing you, Metal. Sorry it had to come to his, but you'll be a pile of scrap metal before this is over." He stood, getting into a position that indicated he was about to run.
"We'll see about that." Metal said, getting into a stance as well.
"Your friends will sit in the stands. They'll be able to see you by looking through the binoculars you'll find on each seat." Tails Doll said, looking at them with Omega's head. Knuckles, Rouge, and Luna nodded, then walked to the seats.

Justin followed the others and took a seat. Man, I hope Tails can somehow get here with my suit. He then looked over at Rouge, having an idea....assuming cell phones work in space. "Rouge, ya think you can call Tails for me? I have to tell him something." He asked.

"Sure, I guess." Rouge said, obviously a little confused. Nevertheless, she took her phone from her pocket. "I'm not good at giving messeges. How about you just call him?" She gave it to him. "He's on my speed dial. Just hit three."
"Let us begin, shall we?" Omega-Tails Doll said. "On your mark...get set....run."
The two Sonics sped off. They were neck and neck. They made the first loop-the-loop with no problem.
Omega waited until they were off in the distance, unseeable without the special binoculars, before flying after them. He extended one of it's arms, and a lazer shot out of it. He caught up with them already, the lazer about five feet away from toasting one of them. It had a seven-foot width, and the path was about nine feet wide.
"Woah! You weren't kidding when you said it was a death beam!" said Sonic, glancing back at it.

Justin nodded and took the phone, calling Tails. He could only hope the kid would answer, or Sonic might get fried.

(Whoops. I said it covered the whole path. That sounds like there's no room for running xD Edited)
"Hey Rouge, what's up? Sonic okay?" Tails' voice asked.
Metal shoved into Sonic, still running.
"Woah!" Sonic caught himself. He nearly got fried by the lazer, but quickly caught up with Metal again. "Hey, watch it!"
Knuckles and Luna watched with the binoculars. "I'm pretty sure that shove was not accidental." he said, sounding tense.
"You think? Metal did that on purpose!"
"What happened? What happened to Sonic??" Rouge said franicly, picking up hers and looking through them.
"Nothing, yet." Luna said, biting her lip.
Metal extended his foot a bit.
Sonic jumped to avoid it. "What's your PROBLEM?!" he exclaimed, landing. Luckily, the jump had given him a few feet ahead of Metal(who, unfortunately, caught up soon).
"Metal is trying to waste Sonic!" Knuckles yelled angrily.
"That cheating son of a-" Luna began, but was interupted by Rouge.
"s**t! Doll never said they couldn't try to interfere with each other's running!"

"Tails, it's me, Justin. Listen, you think you can fix my suit and get it here? Metal's trying to kill Sonic in the middle of the race, and that killer robot Doll has is gonna nuke one of them! I need my suit so I can stop that thing!" Justin told him.

"I'm working on it as fast as I can. It doesn't have dents in it at them oment, but if I took it right now you wouldn't be able to do anything except use your fists. And whatever a clone of mine made is probably very good...." Tails said. On the other end, there was the sound of him putting down a tool and picking up another. "Phew. Look, Sonic'll be okay. You weren't there the millions of times he's saved us."
Sonic glanced ahead. A pit of spikes. "Two can play at this game!" He called, and pushed Metal forward as he leaped over the spikes.
Metal, about to hit the spikes, suddenly shot forward. Jets on his shoes. Naturally. He turned himself upward and landed, the jets going back in.
"Great, the dude's got rockets on his shoes." Knuckles said, "And Sonic almost had him, too.
