As the two were engulfed in the blaze of the wind shuriken explosions, Adiel had already planned two steps ahead as her nature magic churned underground. By moment's notice of the collision of magic on steel, the ground trembled beneath their feet as the wind blasts went off, three massive tentacle like arms shot out from underneath and coiled around the two elves briefly. Packed with still the fresh soil of underground from the nearby trees, the massive roots had all but absorbed the brunt of the desperado explosions so she would not be mince meat in the process. Yet as quick as they had come, the roots could not bear the power already wreaked upon them as they turn from dark brown to black and withered away to recede back into the three holes that now circled the two.
However Adiel had her dagger pressed hard against the dark elf's magic, bringing her foot forward one step at a time to try and gain the upper hand in the stalemate of equal collision. Two different energy colors were at match, her own golden shroud that whisked around her body and the defensive aura of Lo' with a dark purple like the night sky. Opposing energies clashed and quarreled as she would not let up this deadlock, keeping a firm press against her energy as her glowing eyes still gave off their light.
"Cease this, Lo'. You won't win against me." Adiel spoke in the elvish tongue, the graceful syllables butchered and torn by the spent elf who had begun to struggle with keeping the pressure on the mage. "I will not back down until I'm taken down, this is my training." she added as her obsessive perfection and strong pride hinted that Adiel would not be letting up any time soon long as she could breath and stand. With both hands on the dagger, she had her full weight and strength behind the clash.

Having not even realized she had held her breath, Lo let out a silent sigh of relief as three thick and muddy roots that smelled like the bottom of a bog blocked the explosions that Adiel had set off. Lo didn't say anything during the whole process. Something out there was still bugging her and it wasn't the sick feeling in her stomach that was finding it's way into her from being so close to a source of Holy magic. She kept her hand up, pressed against the force bearing down on her hand.
She could feel Adiel getting closer and closer to her putting more pressure on her hand to the point where it was difficult to keep both the shroud and her own block up at the same time. It was like something from a story-book almost, with light and shadow both being in a never ending deadlock. Lo opened her mouth to say something but almost instantly felt sick to her stomach. There was a reason why light typically won in those particular stories. She was very happy to hear what Adiel had to say next even if it did hurt her own ego to agree with it mentally.
"Stop with that Holy Magic already." Lo kept her gaze fixed on her feet, but that meant her hair was in her face and Lo disliked that. "For someone who's supposed to be guarding me, you're making me feel sick." with this Lo swept her right hand blocking Adiel's dagger off to the side to move the attack away from her. Judging by the amount of force that Ad was putting on to push through her spell, Lo didn't want to risk letting the spell go and having a dagger catch her in the face. Lo took a few steps away from the glowing Dawn Elf before dropping the Veil of Shadows from her body and putting her hands on her hips.
"Honestly, if I knew you were going to jump at me like a wild animal I wouldn't have bothered with you. You're no fun when you do that." Lo huffed and pouted letting her gaze find the human trainer. Lo's pout turned into a small frown at the sight of the old man. Her ego was already bruised from the draw (she refused to admit otherwise) but it was in front of a human as well. Not to mention her state of disarray. Her hair was a mess and so were brand new clothes.

12341234• Dementia This ability allows them to store a tiny fraction of Justor's magic into their own body. The result is simple and yet very efficient. Not only are their casting times reduced by one post, but their spells are increased in size and range (and speed... slightly). This makes their magic harder to dodge, further solidifying them as the most efficient magic-users. The rate at which size/range are increased = add 1/3 of the base. So, 15 feet in length would become 20 feet in length. Speed is increased by about 1/5th, although this can become overwhelming if you constantly sling spells 12341234• Detect Magic Rank: Passive Description: The user can detect magic. This means when others cast spells, or emanate high amounts of energy, you can see their aura. This also means you can detect magic in an area, meaning if an area has something magical about it, you can feel it. At higher ranks, you can determine the source in an area. 12341234 12341234 12341234 12341234
Even being pulled toward the side, the dawn elf sensed the movement and already whirled right on around. Her heel turned and dug into the ground and like a dervish the dagger came around like the devil's claw. Lo' would not notice at first but the Adiel was a fake once she let loose of the deadlock and it faded out into a shimmering mirage like any other trickery of the ninjutsu skill tree.
It would not be until the human would yell "Adiel, stop!" that she would come into existence just behind the dark elf. Inches away were her two twin daggers, Sjach and Amuul poised at killing blows save they were held at the opposing blunt side meaning no threat would become of Lo' if she slipped. The Dawn Elf held Sjach's blunt edge at her throat and Amuul an inch below the breast poised to stab in between the ribs and at the heart. The twin viper technique. If Lo' been her enemy, she would cease to draw breath as she stood directly behind the mage in close proximity.
"If I cannot defeat you, how will I protect you without knowing your weaknesses, dear girl?" She whispered softly, pressing the two blades at their respective kill zones. Releasing herself, she again vanished and reappeared in front of Lo' as she would sheath her twin daggers into her sleeves while her holy shroud dissipated and the glow of her eyes faded away.
The middle aged old man made his way to Adiel and Lo', ignoring the mage altogether and spoke directly to the kunoichi. "Alvah, you've forgotten the basics! Bah every movement up until the end was like watching a elephant doing ballet! By the gods what has gotten into you?"
The dawn elf would bow and apologize in her elven tongue but upon rising up she smiled. "Sensei, it is you and Merce who taught me to be unpredictable. Deception is the direction of ninja." an argument carried on between the two for a good minute before the old man finally caved with a loud hearty laugh.
"I suppose training is concluded for the day. See me in the future Alvah, your bloody form is still as graceful as a overweight ogre." he said upon his departure on out of the dojo and Adiel called back at him. "And you're still crabby like any other senile old man." she said with a chuckle as he made a loud 'bah'.
Turning to Lo', she looked at her briefly and back around the dojo. "Please don't hate him. He's not as bad as you may think. I owe him for everything I know and he still teaches me despite what I've done." it was sudden of her to say such as thing as she turned away and began to walk off suddenly from the mage -- too prideful to show her face or her emotion.

The King was watching the battle faithfully, and very well impressed that they weren't distracted with his presence. Even though some damage was occurring, he could see that they at east had a small sense of self restraint. He moved his right hand to comb his brown hair softly against the wind, and carried his sword on his back proudly. Then he started going back under the shadow of a tree to dissipate into darkness and go towards his beloved Queen.

Equipment: Longsword of the Forest, and Shadow of the Forest's Armor. No passive effects.
For once, Lo was actually pleased to hear the old man speak up. Anything would have done if only to stop the two blades currently poised at her neck and chest. It wasn't very comfortable to know that one little twitch could result in a cut, or worse. While Lo couldn't see Ad right now, she did recognize the two weapons as the daggers that the Dawn Elf kept with her at all times. Lo said nothing not just because she felt the weapons press a bit closer, but also because she knew her weakness well.
After Adiel backed away from Lo, she instantly put a hand on the earring she was wearing. Unlike the normal person who probably would've rubbed his or her neck after an encounter like that. "Hmph." Lo could still feel the nauseating effects of the Holy magic that Adiel had been using up until now. She couldn't help but shift her gaze back to the human trainer since he finally decided to speak up. If only to ignore her. Even though he was pretty much insulting the one person that Lo didn't mind so far she couldn't help but notice he was right. Ad had been blundering about like an elephant. One look at once perfectly designed training room could vouch for that.
Lo could only wait patiently as the student and master bickered like a couple of chickens fighting for a good minute. The only thing she accomplished during their little spat was finding her hair band and getting her neat and perfect bun back into place. She looked back at the two, with her arms crossed, once they were finished. Lo said nothing as Adiel tried to assure her that he wasn't a bad man. While Lo didn't hate the race of humans as a whole she was always cautious around them, even if one of them was close enough to Adiel to get her to say such things. "It's not him I hate. And it's more like a distrust." That was all Lo would say on that matter. She didn't make it a habit to relive her past.
"Anyways." Bound and determined to change the subject Lo went back to something that Adiel had said before. "Most of my weaknesses are pretty obvious. Or I would hope they are to you at the least. Holy magic and anything that requires kicking and punching." she pointed at Adiel before continuing. "Basically whatever it is that you do." Lo didn't want to think about the foot shaped bruise she had on her stomach or feeling like she was about to be sick. "Asking questions is how you learn. Not as an elephant doing ballet." Lo joked with a shrug of her shoulders.

Some wandering, eavesdropping on passing conversations, and referencing conveniently placed maps led Nai to her chosen destination, the Kusana Dojo. She harmlessly and cautiously stepped into the dojo's ground. She wasn't sure if she was allowed to be in the area, not being a member of the nation of Kranila, but the gunslinger didn't care enough to search for permission. If she was going to be shooed off, so be it. She would leave quietly. Until then, though, she would take her time observing and picking out the people she should avoid while staying at Kusana. There wasn't much different from the usual going-ons she witnessed at the CAZ, which is to say a lot of things were different but none of the differences mattered to Nai.
After cutting through a wooded portion of the dojo's grounds, Nai found herself amidst a mess. The area had been wrecked, and the only three in the area were a pair of elves and some person in the corner swinging around a wrecking ball like it was his newest toy. With little social experience of her own, Nai could not glean the nature of the relationship between the three, but she assumed there was some relation between at least two of them. The creaking of the wood and settling of dirt clued her into the fact that the destruction wrought in the area had yet to settle. It hadn't been long since the fight, and there was little reason for the participants in the destructive spar to hastily leave the scene of the fight.
Of course, while her mind couldn't help but subconsciously file that away somewhere in the back of her head, none of that information held any immediate use for Nai. She had paused for but a moment to take in everything, and no sooner had she stopped then she started walking again without varying her direction. Nai walked calmly into the clearing.

Passives XXChaotic Energy: A passive skill that comes naturally after learning at least five chaos skills, Chaotic Energy is present when the chaos within the user reaches the point where it effects the way their energy is seen. It causes the energy to relay absolutely no concrete information (ex: class, rank, sins). Energy sensors will still be able to sense the affected person's energy. However, the energy will be such a mixed up mess that they will be unable to extract any information out of it. At most, they will know that something is unusual with the user. However, what this abnormality is will be unknown as the messed-up patterns of energy hint at nothing. XXTemporal Accuracy: Those who can control time naturally have a keen sense of time that is capable of accurately keeping the time without any form of outside help. This sense of time is even maintained during the usage of bloodline skills for both the time passed by the user and the time passed by those unaffected by the bloodline skills. Unlike most of the Tempus Inexstinctus's skills, this ability does not break down when within a meter of another significant energy source.
"To me, the best way to learn is through experience. And sensei is only like that because I've abandoned form. A mage forces me to be a bit more... subtle rather than a direct approach." Adiel folded her arms and glanced around the dojo, observing the wreck she made in the area with her wind and shuriken explosions. The damage wasn't the problem to her but she was pained at the loss of her throwing stars since they were not easy to come by. She sighed allowed and made a mental note to replace the weapons another time.
"But anyway, you know not to sneak up on me when I am practicing. My skill, no my physique needs to be perfect. No matter what." She turned around at last and drew her dagger from within her sleeve. The silver blade, Sjach, was one of the twin daggers she possessed. In a daze she stared at the flat side of the blade and thought deeply on a few things before sheathing it with a quiet click in her left sleeve.
She cut herself out of her thoughts with a single shake of the head, and looked at Lo' and said "This place is a mess..." to state the painfully obvious nature of the dojo. It was a redundant thought but it was something to say and to get her mind off of her own depression of being reminded of Merce's death.
"Hmm... Did you... feel anything strange during the fight?" Adiel asked out of the blue, another question in an effort to draw her mind away from the depressing thoughts and something that had indeed bugged her. While she didn't want to state it aloud to Lo' in fear of offending her magic prowess, but she had felt a strong and almost terrifying presence earlier when she was under Solonor's influence and she didn't suspect it was the dark elf either. No, it wasn't elven kin.
A portal opened within the dojo and the Mage stepped out. The Reaper looked to the Elves he had seen in the office before. His hazel eyes took in the state of the dojo. He shook his head at the mess his light brown locks swaying in the motion. He griped tightly to his staff which had the visage of an eagle perched upon it with wings furled to the front and decorated with a diamond. He summon upon his arcane powers, his staff glowing Vermillion. He tapped the butt of his staff upon the floor real sing a magic seal upon the building. All things that were of disrepair, mended anew. The then turned his attention to the women and can them a slight bow "Greetings, I am Kain Leingod Royal Guard" he said calmly to them.
Exceed arrived with his cart of building material as he moved to one of the window areas to open it up to let a swarm of vines inside.
Thanks to his earlier works with Pro. Wax, he found it much easier to work with his items to make more advancements. As he got to work, the vines aided with bending the metals to make sure it was fit for his body while they were aiding with the making of the frame work. Soon, using some of the curcuit boards, he managed to enhance the newly form chest plate to make it upgradable. (Tool Tinkering: Torso learned.)
Soon, he had more aid to construct the sensitive framework for the helmet, making sure it was easy to open and close. The framework was easy to complete as it only took a small cog to make sure it would work. Soon he decided to start making the workings on the helmet's facial structure to get a visor to appear. (1/4)
As he was working on the helmet, he wanted to make sure it weighed correctly as he looked in to make sure it wasn't visible from the outside. It was well constructed as he continued to look at it, soon turning it around to look at it from the inside to make sure it was able to look through it easily. He smiled at the results and soon opened the helmet once more as to make sure his face was capable of being seen. (2/4)
Once the visor was made, he decided to get to work on the metal covering as he used the crude steel to give the helmet a good appearance of worn-out. Soon, it made sure that the metal had a triple layer to ensure that the glass would move inbetween the metal plates. Once it was done, he made sure to check to see if it was going inside of the metals and colliding with the back metal while covering the visor before he closed them and made sure they attached as they closed. (3/4)
He moved to now install the circuits in the helmet as to give it a energy conductor before he soon placed them onto his head. It fit onto his head easily as he smiled before he decided to move his head around to check to see the helmet working. He channeled his energy into it to get the visor to open passively before he soon made it retract to become a form of a choker before he placted it back on and began to remove his armors. (4/4: Tool Tinkering: Head learned.)
With the helmet done, he decided to give it a small little upgrade, removing the glass visor with ease. Soon he began to place in the newest glass that was very well made by him to conduct energy. The visor had half of the glass using more energy to act as an actual scope. (Tool Tinkering: Scope learned.)
He decided to give the visor mask a better upgrade, adding in some new circuits to the scope part of the helmet now. Once he was done, he placed his hand in it to channel his energy into it and get it active. Soon he used some of his energy to get the visor activated and create a HUD display. (HUD learned(Scope))
Now he decided to add in a new zoom set as he had it all set up and ready to install it. After installing the new circuits in with the HUD area, he placed the helmet on and zoomed in on some of the vines with a smile. He soon had it zoom out after taking a picture and looked around with a big smile on his face. (Zoom Scope learned(Scope Visor))
He decided that would be enough for the head equipment and picked up the armor to work on it. He started installing a new special set of equipment as he placed a hand on the armor. Soon a special barrier surrounded him as he smiled, it was clear as glass before he removed his hand as it vanished. (Clear Barrier learned.)
He decided to remove the helmet one last time to input the final item. He open the helm's back and started to upgrade the energy conductor before placing it back onto his head. He looked outside as the visor had a dark glow before a beam of pure energy shot out and went into the sky. (Laser(Helm) Learned.)
He went back to his armor and decided to input some new mechanics to it, giving the abdomen area some new metals. Soon, he activated his energy and caused the metals to open and spin about quickly, reaching 2 feet in length before closing quickly. He chuckled as he did it again, this time with some bread to get some of it cut. (Prop Shredder(Torso) Learned.)
He decided he might need some ammo for future journeys as he decided to install some special bullet case holders. He made sure it was on the back and had the holders go all the way down to where, when equipped, would become attached to his Greaves. He then began to place in the amount of 300 bullets, 150 shells + Magnum shots in both the case holders going down to his legs. It would make reloading easier. (Ammunition Hold learned.)
He took off his gauntlets and greaves and began to work on them both, starting with the gauntlets. With them, he decided it would be best to add in a long wire, 20 ft long, a connector to keep the wire attached onto his arm, and finally placed in the blade hook to make sure it could attach. He placed it on as he made sure both arms had them with the circuits correctly installed. (The Grappling Hand learned)
He pulled the legs close and decided to add in the shell holders to act as barrel shots. He didn't want to test it with the bullets, so he decided to make sure the force hammer would work and hit the empty chambers. With that, he smiled and put them on before equipping his armored chest as his legs were already loaded with 10 spread shots each. (Striker XIV(Leg) Learned)
He slowly began to do some careful work with his armor, getting Crude Steel to be cut and formed into a deadly sharp shortsword, capable of being shot out from the chest. With careful working, the hidden blade was installed, with an air blast sheathe to shoot the blade out as a weapon. He could reach in and grab the blade out easily as he swung it around for a little bit before he opened the chest cavity holder and placed it back in. (Hidden Blade(Torso) learned.)
Which quick thinking, he began to add in some items together, a canister of crude steel filled to the brim with explosive powder. Due to the steel being just a canister, it would be easy to shatter, but only make an extremely loud. He didn't need to test it, instead he placed it to his side to keep it safe and sound. (Concussion Grenades learned)
He began the same process with a crude steel canister with some explosive powder and a sound emitter, when broken, would release a deafening sound. He continued to build it until the the pin was inside of the grenade, prepped to be pulled and explode. He chuckled a bit as it looked a bit funny before he placed it to his side to keep safe. (Percussion Grenade)
After his grenade building, he began to get some water and a bit of the nitrogen as he made the grenade have three composition. The liquid nitrogen rested on the top of the grenade, water underneath it, and an explosive powder at the bottom. The grenade had a clip handle, so when it was pulled the gunpowder at the bottom would explode and spread the water and liquid nitrogen around to spray everywhere and freezing it all. (Cryo Grenade learned.)
With another grenade done, he began to work on the opposite form, mixing some chemicals he kept on him to create a burning reaction when mixed with the final chemical, He poured the mixed chemical in the bottom of a crude steel canister, closing off the section to fill it with the final chemical, sealing off the chemical once more. He soon filled the final section with gun powder as he closed the canister and had it prep for it's miraculous explosion before putting it at his side. (Incendiary Grenade learned)
He soon grabbed one last canister to fill it up with gunpowder and a special kind of powder. He could easily mix them both together, since the special powder came from a plant that actually leaves traces of the sleeping agent. Once he closed the canister, he shook it up to get the smoke trapped inside and ready for it's proper use. (Sleep Grenade learned.)

The childish pout returned to Lo's face as she got scolded for sneaking up on her bodyguard. "I learned some new tricks and wanted to show you them. If it wasn't for that-...uh...your trainer friend you wouldn't have even known I was there." Lo's ego was still bruised from that and she wasn't about to let it go either. She prided herself on the potency of her spells. To have someone sense her that quickly was a downer if there ever was one. "I strive to be the best too, but you never learn anything if all you do is win. Losing is just as important as winning." Lo said.
She looked around the room again as Adiel pointed out the mess that had been made. "I wasn't the one who created a tornado inside a building. Spells that big are meant for outside use only! It's the same as explosives or...even yelling." now it was Lo's turn to scold someone for once and she wasn't going to pass up the chance. Spells were in her realm of expertise after all. "Unless your goal was to bring the whole building crashing down on us. You're lucky that it didn't!" Lo pushed her glasses back up on the bridge of her nose as she finished.
"Eh?" Lo blinked and looked mildly surprised that Adiel mentioned something strange. Or feeling something strange. "You mean you could feel that as well?" Lo didn't know how Adiel's Holy magic worked, but now she figured that it gave an ability to sense at least certain levels of energy. "That was Unholy mana. It was darker than anything I have ever felt before. That was something worse than a human." Lo looked to the ground as she spoke. She looked back at Adiel with a shrug. "Although...I'm not sure who or what it was."
Before anything else could be said on the matter a large amount of energy swirled into a circle to create what Lo could only guess was a portal. "Oh, now what?" Lo took a few steps to get somewhat behind Adiel just in case whoever stepped out of the portal wanted to pick a fight. Not a moment later a young looking boy had stepped out of the portal, but Lo knew better than to judge a book by it's cover. As the man shook his head at the mess Lo noticed a gauntlet on his arm. She barely noticed as the man tapped his staff as he forced the Dojo to mend itself. As a kid Lo spent hours reading about the Reapers attack on the Dark elves generations ago although she still believed that was the Dark elves fault. "Loisdrenthennwen Norolinde. Just call me Lo." she said. "What's someone from the Royal Guard doing here?" Lo asked, more curious than cautious at the moment. He did't state a rank, so she really didn't know how else to address the Reaper.
Exceed noticed the woman who was cloaked completely as he moved towards her quickly as he walked along side her. "Hm... your energy seems to be off the charts here..." He told her as he looked her up and down a bit. "My name is Exceed, Adept Captain of this area."

Someone approached Nai, prompting her to stop. The last time she had stopped for another, it had simply ended up as a waste of time. However, basing her actions off of one incident as foolhardy. The girl registered what was said to her, extracting information from the spoken words in addition to a cursory glance at the speaker, As far as Nai knew, mechanists dealt mainly with mechanical things, not things related to energy like magic. Therefore, his ability to sense her energy in enough detail to tell its level when most mechanical training should not grant such a skill was stored away as an abnormality to the woman.
As usual, the gunslinger's only sign of having such thoughts was an extended pause. Her face, even if it could be seen past the shadows cast by her hood and raised collar, remained expressionless. She offered no reaction or any other help in retaining the flow of the conversation, seeing no need to. She had nothing to ask this Exceed person and would only wait so long for him to make clear his business with her before leaving him.
In fact, she didn't even bother with the common courtesy of looking at Exceed while waiting for his reply. Instead, Nai positioned her eyes and body, even going so far as to take a few steps, so that she could see everyone of interest in the dojo. Exceed was one of these people, but so were the elves and the blonde that had suddenly popped out of a portal and greeted the elf pair. This settled the center of her vision at some spot between the two groups so that her peripheral vision could register both.

The presence of something made the dawn elf weary, hyperaware of something. At first she played it off as if it were that man, but she went silent and still as her eyes went unfocused and slipped both her hands within her sleeves and played her silent and stoic role she was known for. Lo' gave her introduction to a fellow warrior, a reaper, Kain was his name?
She didn't remember or hear. Unlike Lo', Adiel wasn't the social butterfly as her paranoia still was all too high. Like a statue, her body was still with the shallow breathing yet her attention was all too keen. Mentally, her conscious was elsewhere as were her senses to see, hear, smell and perceive. It was a trait of all her kin and perhaps her most frightening ability for it could not be detected.
There was a man, or woman, that was shrouded in mystery. Adiel's mental conscience was focused on this person, fixated even as every red flag was raised. Silent, stranger, approaching Lo', possession of a strange energy and getting her attention. One of Kusana's own spoke to the person but no reply was made.
Adiel's presence was there as she lingered behind the unknown, listening and stalking. Niether the mechanist or she would detect her mental presence until...
"Stop. Do not think I can not see you." a disembodied voice spoke from Adiel's mental conscience directly behind the short hooded one. The voice was female and it was barely audible to a whisper yet it was right next to her left ear. The other one would hear hardly or anything at all unless some supernatural hearing was at hand.
"Make another step and your left lung and right kidney will be pierced." it was slightly true, Adiel's mental presence could teleport her physical being in just a blink while her hands were within sleeves. Right where Sjach and Amuul were.
"Remove your hood so I know you are not here to harm." the voice whispered in her ear again. Everything that transpired wouldn't be noticed by the others unless their focus was intently on Adiel's mental presence behind the hooded one. Everyone except the hooded one and perhaps the metal armed one.
"What do you want?" This time the question was louder so that anyone close could hear yet it was disembodied, an invisible voice as Adiel's physical body hadn't moved or casted a single spell. It was all her racial traits.

The first sentence wouldn't have caused any sort of reaction from Nai if it hadn't been for the place it was uttered from. After all, Nai wasn't attempting to hide. However, the position of the voice so close to her and behind her back, apparently in a blind spot, put her on edge. The threat that followed the meaningless first sentence did nothing to ease the gunslinger's own paranoia. However, she did not move either before or after the voice threatened her to stand still. The girl wasn't the type to make any unnecessary movements and she knew all too well that at the distance the voice sounded like it was at, most movements would be futile. However, she didn't completely ignore the speaker.
Her priorities now clearly reorganized, Nai did not bother with an answer to Exceed's question. She even diverted her eyes from everyone she had been watching before to catch a glimpse of the perpetrator. She didn't bother trying to glimpse behind her, already knowing that her lowered hood would be in the way of her vision. Rather, she rotated her eyes so that they looked straight into Exceed's hoping to catch a reflection of the whisperer, or at least some other sign to glean information from. His eyes reflected no one but her, though, and his expression showed no sign of noticing anyone suspiciously behind Nai. Once her eyes ascertained there was no information to be received from Exceed's face, Nai's eyes darted down to the ground just as the voice made clear its demands. She did not see a shadow besides her own.
However, that didn't matter to the woman. Now that she knew the demands were merely for her to reveal her face and state her purpose, Nai had no further reason to investigate further. Fulfilling the demands would be far easier than confronting an unknown foe. The girl gunslinger raised her hands to her hood to flip it down, revealing black hair and eyes. Nai took the chance to turn her head and look behind her. She saw nothing. No surprise was expressed on Nai's face. Expressions were always a foreign concept to the woman and this was no exception. Her face remained as still as a mirror and just as unreadable. Even with the hood, though, her entire face wasn't revealed. A raised collar still covered the lower half of the face.
Someone more cunning would have demanded to see the speaker. Nai didn't bother, though. She only wanted was to avoid the threats aimed at her. Armed with that purpose, the girl replied in a monotone, "To live," as she turned her head back into a natural position. Socially awkward as always, she did not fully comprehend the question despite using the same, succinct way of speaking herself. Her first way of interpreting the question was in a very loose sense void of any implications regarding the current situation. Nai had responded using that first interpretation without searching for any other meanings; she responded with just about the only goal she currently had in life.
