Hajime raised his brows, "That was Hassahiro? The plot thickens. Hrm." The monk touched his chin with the tip of his fingers, thinking over the mystery as Sai briefed them on his findings. This was a mystery of metal, money, men.... and ninja. This wasn't something that he'd ever been trained to tackle- admittedly. As they walked back to the headquarters, Hajime confirmed, "I'm with you." Hajime added, "I can handle the night without sleep- if it furthers our mission."

Hajime removed his sedge hat before they entered the building. Once they reached the front desk, Kaito- apparently still tipsy- gave the news to the person at the desk in a very flat, deadpan sort of way- considering the content. Hajime took over, "What my friend means to say is that we have information about the Hassahiro Yagami mission that was assigned to us today. Kaito, hand her the scroll. Ahem. Some additional complications have arisen in this mission. Who do we speak to about this?"

The front desk attendant in the evening was different than the daytime one. She seemed pretty unfazed by what they said. She looked at the trio with jaded eyes, between the messy locks of her pink hair. She snapped some bubblegum and pointed them towards the Special Chuunin in charge of mission debriefing, Ebiru Hyuga. Ebiru Hyuga's office was just down the hall. Hajime nodded, and thanked her for her time- then went to Hyuga Ebiru's office. The door was open, and inside at a desk was a white-eyed man with long, dark brown hair, and wearing white robes beneath his flak jacket.

Hajime repeated what he knew of the mission and their findings, and began by placing the ledgers from their mission onto the desk, then explained, "...However once we got to the apothecary, we found a grisly scene. A man was decapitated in the building. After some investigation, we found how the assailant got into the building, and how they left, and we also discovered the victim's identity- it appears to be Hassahiro Yagami."

He looked to Sai, "And Sai here found some additional evidence relating to this scheme- a strange metal that we haven't yet identified, but is surely important to whatever is going on here."

After the two Genin had left Ichiraku behind, Haikyo started to answer the questions Juugou had asked earlier. First he gave his opinion about the ramen restaurant, which was overtly positive and gave the Aburame the impression that he would be going back more often in the future. Haikyo then talked about Teumaru Ichiraku himself, stating that he was a good man but could be dangerous in the wrong hands. He then inquired about the Ichiraku, wondering if it was his actual name or a working name. "His real name is Teumaru, after Teuchi the founder of the restaurant." answered Juugou, turning around and walking backwards and steering himself with the aid of his insects. "He prefers Ichiraku because he feels it's easier to say than his own name, but you didn't get that bit of information from me. The man is really private about his personal life and didn't tell me until i had been a regular for a bit over a year." he added with a chuckle. "What i can say, though is that he's loyal to the village and in an unseen way keeps us together." Juugou grew silent for a while until Haikyo sighed and began to explain the nature of his Clan's power and its history. The young Aburame was visibly crestfallen upon hearing that it was impossible for outsiders to learn the ways of the Yomi. It made sense, just like how an Aburame who wasn't offered to the Kikaichū after birth would be unable to use the insects. Juugou continued listening, his jaw dropping when he heard how Haikyo's grandfather had abused his power by enslaving the souls of the dead and forming an army of undead to try and take over the Land of Iron. The tale came to a tragic conclusion, with the eradication of every living Yomi aside from Haikyo and his parents. It was no wonder why the samurai were after them: to prevent anything like that from happening again in the future. But wasn't it enough that the clan responsible nearly eradicated itself trying to save the country? Juugou began to ball his fists at the injustice, but Haikyo continued speaking.

He went on to explain how family was more than the DNA within. It was the individuals you would sacrifice yourself as well as precious material things, like true friends and lovers. But then Juugou's jaw went slack when Haikyo revealed that his ability was the same as his grandfather's. The Yomi explained that he could use his body as a vessel to house willing souls as well as the bodies of others, but he had no control over the ability. And the only way for the younger genin to learn the Yomi clan's powers was for Haikyo to graft a piece of his soul onto Juugou's. He promised that with time he would learn to use his power correctly, and when that day came he would be more than happy to teach his team mate. The young Aburame stood still, trying to process all of the information he had been provided. "This... is a lot to take in." he said after a brief pause. "We're still young. No need to rush and possibly start another zombie war. Though it makes me happy that we are more similar than i thought. We're both vessels: me for insects, and you for souls. I think i understand you now Haikyo. We're polar opposites in terms of upbringing, but on a deeper level we're pretty similar. I think i'd like to keep you around, even with the threat of bounty hunters lurking around." Juugou began walking again and shortly after they had arrived at the training center.

The Aburame approached the receptionist and asked for a sparring room for two. The man gave him a key card with the room number written on a paper beneath a layer of transparent tape, then directed them to the stairs that would take them up to the second floor. "Looks like we'll be in E-2 today." said Juugou as he led the way to their sparring area. When Haikyo asked him how he wanted to go about it, Juugou smiled. "Why not spar? It's the best way to put what we learned to use." He found the door and swiped the key card on the reader. The door slid open with a beep and both Genin stepped in. The room was spacious and rectangular. There was enough room to jump and run around. There was a water fountain to the side and energy bars on a small table in the corner. All in all a nice set-up. Juugou walked to the far wall and turned to face his partner. "Let's try not to go overboard. Just simple techniques and hand to hand.." he said, taking an defensive stance.

Haikyo pondered on the ramen shop owner for a while as they walked. It took him a moment to adjust to the Aburame facing him, walking backwards, and Haikyo had given him a strange look at first, before he processed how he figured the boy was achieving this effect. He went back to his thoughts about the ramen shop, scratching the back of his head. So, his given name was Teumaru, and his last name was Ichiraku. However, it was apparent that the man was not all too trusting when it came to his personal information, which, honestly, in the ninja world, seemed to make a lot of sense. However, at the same time, given the man's wealth of knowledge and his connection throughout the village, Haikyo still couldn't help but feel the man could be an enormous threat to the village if ever he were compromised. He wondered if the man was strong...if he was more than just a connoisseur of information and a cook. "I see. That makes quite a lot of sense. I will keep this information to myself until he deems it time to tell me." He stated with a sharp nod. "Though, I thank you for trusting me with such information. I would like to believe him to be a good man. He seems very...wise." He stated, thinking about what word to use to describe the man. Wise seemed to fit--he was knowledgeable, sharp, kind, all very large traits of a wise man. For now, he had decided that he would trust this man...if Juugou had held him in such high regard, whilst knowing him for as long as he had...it was likely that the man was worthy of that trust. "Also, the way you turned around to face me, but kept walking in the other direction. It is the eyes of your insect companions...you can see through them to guide you, right? It's remarkable. I find your skillset to be beyond interesting."

When Haikyo had actually started going through the information on his family's past however, and he revealed that the normal person would not be able to learn how to utilize the soul's energy, he noticed Juugou's body language drop--the disappointment very recognizable. Haikyo almost felt bad for the boy, though he knew that, at the end of the day, he had positive news to give the boy as well, that would hopefully improve his outlook on the situation. It was comical to see the way that Juugou's jaw dropped at the mention of his great grandfather, and what the man had done in the land of Iron. The Yomi clan had been snuffed out in their conflict against his great grandfather, and now they were being hunted--sought after in order to keep the same kind of catastrophe from happening again. It was in this moment--the moment that he explained why they were still being hunted, that Haikyo felt something peculiar. Juugou's fists balled at his sides, and Haikyo could feel the boy's passion well up inside of him. The frustration due to the injustice of it all came welling up from inside the boy, and Haikyo needed no more information about Juugou to know exactly what he thought of the boy. He was a good kid...and he would become an even better man. An honorable boy, to be sure. It was in this moment that Haikyo felt no hesitation when it came to accepting this stranger into his life as a friend--even a brother. Juugou knew nothing of his family, nothing of his lands, but even so, he stood, enraged by the wrongdoings against these people he never knew. That was the kind of man that Haikyo could understand. Pride swelled in Haikyo's chest as he walked alongside Juugou--proud to be in the boy's company.

When Haikyo had finished explaining everything--ending with the method in which he might be able to successfully impart his clan's skills upon the Aburame boy, Juugou took a deep breath and responded with a very simple. 'That's a lot to take in', and Haikyo chuckled, the noise deep and throaty. When Juugou went on to talk about not wanting to start another zombie war, Haikyo opened his mouth to say something, but allowed Juugou to finish his line of thought, first. He went on to explain that they were more similar than he had originally thought--that whereas they had been brought up in very different lives, they had much in common. Haikyo was a vessel for souls--Juugou for insects that lived in harmony with his body. "Thankfully, however, there is no threat for any sort of event like that of my great grandfather. To take a soul and place it into a body, controlling it with your own influence, takes a lot of skill and control--that which I do not have. The lack of control that I suffer is not dangerous to anyone but myself. You see, the first time my parents took me to the remnants of a battlefield--we have many in the Rain Country from past wars and battles fought on our soil--they were going to begin my training to learn to aid spirits in their passing to the next world. To being their cycle of life anew. However, unable to control my abilities, and unknown to my parents that my body was the way it was, I was bombarded by the souls of the dead warriors. Those who wished to stay on this earth and avoid passing to the next, they rushed into my body, and the large number of these souls all passing into my body at such a rapid pace almost killed me. It overloaded the level of soul energy my body could handle, and unless my mother had been there to administer heavy medical treatment, I would have been torn apart from the inside due to my body being unable to keep up with the level of energies inside of it. It is still a battle to keep the souls at bay that have entered my body over the years. I manage to keep away from cemeteries and battlefields for the most part--to avoid any such events again, but until I can control the flow of souls into my body, then I will, essentially be a free residence to any soul who willingly wishes to be housed within me. So, in reality, the only person in danger from my lack of control...is me." He stated with a nervous sigh, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment. He felt as though he should have managed to do something about this a long time ago, but even his parents had stopped teaching him after that. Forbidding him from returning to their travels with them.

"As for our similarities...you are quite right. I am full of the souls of those who cannot leave this world. You, with the insects of your clan. I never really thought of these things as the same, but I believe you're very right about it. Perhaps you can understand the way of the Yomi even better than anyone else." Haikyo stated thoughtfully. The boy had impressed him with his insight, and with the attempts to understand the people around him on a deeper level. However, it was not this similarity that had truly set Haikyo's beliefs that they were similar. For him, it had been the moment that Juugou balled his fists. The moment that Haikyo felt the anger in the boy for a family that was not his. This moment was the moment Haikyo had solidified his judgement on Juugou. The moment he had decided that he was worthy of Haikyo's respect. A Yomi did not take such things lightly. And when a new person was inducted into the Yomi family, it was never done so lightly. There were powers here that could be misused on a massive level...powers he would not let another person sully the name of. He felt himself in the young boy--he felt his own passions, and his own feelings resonate inside of him. This was the true similarity that Haikyo stumbled into. He had felt his soul and Juugou's resonate on a deeper level than mere surface intrigue. He felt them connect on a moral and principle level. He looked forward to walking through life's path with this man by his side. For Juugou would surely become a man of greatness.

By this point, they had managed to arrive at the training facility. when they entered, Juugou went about getting them assigned to a room, and before long they were standing before the door, sliding a card through some sort of device that opened a sliding door into a large rectangular room with ample room to run and jump. His eyes widened at the technology of it all. It was quite simply incredible. He was so used to his humble home that he had not realized just how far ahead some people were. When Juugou suggested that they spar, he nodded to the boy, figuring that it seemed to be the best method for them to get to know their new abilities as well. If they did not push each other to develop, they would stay stagnant. And stagnant water did not allow for life to flourish. As Juugou entered a defensive stance, Haikyo set himself opposite to the boy, focusing his energies and allowing his soul to flow through his skin, coating the outside of his body in the reinforced framework. "Sounds good to me. But do not hold back--simple techniques or hand to hand, it does not matter, whatever you settle on, commit with everything you have." He said with a grin as he looked at the boy. "I believe we are both at least around the same capabilities." He said with a smirk and a nod before he took a deep breath. It was in this moment that he launched himself forward toward the boy, not giving him a whole lot of time to think before he unleashed his first barrage of attacks. His body was strengthened in the sense that he was more durable, it would hurt less to be hit, but hitting others was still about the same effect. He needed to learn how to use these abilities offensively as well as defensively. the soul skin allowed his body to react to attacks on its own, he needed only to weave his soul through his skin, and the soul itself would react to incoming danger and strengthen the areas of his body's surface accordingly, as Juugou had seen before. His mind worked furiously, trying to figure out how to use his new-found energy for offensive means as well. For now, though, he through a straight right, aiming right toward the bottom left of Juugou's jaw, in case the boy dodged to that side, so it would still land. If he went the other way, it would be a miss over his shoulder. Then, he followed up, pivoting on his back foot and switching stances to bring his second arm forward and singing it in a hook, aiming for Juugou's lower ribs. He would see the reaction time of the boy. Haikyo was an extremely agile young man, and he planned on hard-pressing Juugou to escape his nimble strikes.

While the two genin were walking to the training facility Haikyo was ruminating about Teumaru's trustworthiness. Juugou understood to some degree why the Yomi felt skeptical about the ramen chef's questionable way of information gathering, but was surprised when he used the word 'wise' to describe him. Juugou continued walking backward, now himself thinking about why Haikyo would come to that conclusion. The older teen then inquired about the way he walked backwards, thinking that it was because he shared a field of vision with the insects, which cause Juugou to chuckle. "Well, you're not too far off the mark there." he said holding out a finger so that a single kikaichū would land on it. "I can understand these guys' language so we can communicate mentally. I'm sure there's a way that we can share vision with them, but i currently don't know how. That ability is more common in the main branch of the Aburame clan, which are more reconnaissance oriented." This got Juugou thinking. His kikaichū were descendants of the main branch so they also had the inborn talent for espionage as well. He could definitely use this for search and rescue missions in the future. "But it makes me happy that you think so. Most people think our abilities are creepy." said the young Aburame with a smile.

After Haikyo had explained that his clan's abilities could be 'grafted' he went on to explain that he presently didn't have the amount of control required to
manipulate a multitude of souls to do his bidding, and went on to explain how it was he learned what he was really capable of. Juugou listened intently, his eyes taking on a worried cast. The guy had essentially become an over-inflated balloon that would have popped if it hadn't been for his mother's medical intervention. No wonder his parents decided not to teach them their skills. They almost lost their son because of them... When the Yomi had finished recounting his story he quickly moved on to talk about the comments Juugou had made about their similarities, goin on to say that he might be able to understand the way of the Yomi clan better than anyone. "Yeah, i guess you are right." replied the young Aburame with a strained smile, and said nothing else until they arrived at the facility. But he vowed to himself to watch over Haikyo until he was better able to control his powers.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

As Juugou faced Haikyo his mind was abuzz with all the things the older teen had told him on their walk to the training facility. The main thing that bothered him was how Haikyo's life was in perpetual danger, being a vessel that was in constant danger of becoming overfilled if he neared any location that contained dead or dying individuals because he would attract their spirits into himself. It was another similarity the Yomi shared with the Aburame clan because there were some insects. like the kidaichu, that would grow in size if fed an incorrect amount of chakra and potentially kill the user. Juugou shuddered, trying to rein his thoughts back in because he could feel his insects beginning to go into distress. He took a few breaths to steady his thoughts and wondered if he was the only Aburame that had constant problems dealing with his insects. It was at this time that Haikyo told him not to hold back and to commit to whichever method of fighting he decided on before dashing toward the younger Genin. Juugou realized how much faster the Yomi was when he cleared half the distance in the time it took him to prepare his insects. The first punch landed squarely on his jaw, knocking his head back with an added burst. As Juugou staggered back he saw the familiar green webbing of Haikyo's soul skin wrapped around his fist. Gritting his teeth, the Aburame planted his feet firmly on the ground, stopping himself from getting closer to the wall behind him. I need to slow him down some... he thought as Haikyo switched up his stance and aimed another punch, this time aimed at his body. DEFEND!! he commanded his insects and they swarmed out of his sleeves. The bugs formed a thick tendril as they arced overhead and came back down in a loop fast enough to knock the Yomi's fist away. Their interaction with the soul skin was explosive. The leading insects were repelled and fell to the floor stunned, but the remainder were able to weather the shock wave. ATTACK!! Juugou commanded, and the insect swarm pushed back against Haikyo before he was able to recover, having a few hide in the older teen's robes as they made contact. After the third swarm push Juugou recalled his insects and had them form two perpendicular rings around him. "We may be around the same skill level, though one of us is clearly more physically capable." he said, massaging his sore jawbone and wincing. "As a medic in training i didn't get much time to devote to physical training, but if you don't want to hold back, i guess i'll have to show you a few things that i learned." As he the Aburame spoke, a few of his insects broke off from the rings and retrieved three of the stunned insects and flew back into his sleeve, where they retreated beneath his skin. Luckily one of the three was female, and would be able to pass on resistance to Haikyo's soul skin to the next generation of insects once it recovered. In the meantime Juugou eyed his sparring partner and formulated a plan. There has to be a limit to how much he could use his soul skin since he only developed the skill earlier today, so i should aim for that. SWARM! he commanded and the kikaichū separated into three amorphous clouds above him. ATTACK!! The clouds moved towards Haikyo: the first attacking from above at a downward diagonal angle while the other two formed hands that attempted to grasp at the Yomi. The first group would continue to the floor and circle behind Haikyo spread out in a net to catch him if he jumped away from the hand formations. Doing this was an ambitious use of his chakra, but if successful Juugou would be able to suppress Haikyo's motion and drain most of his available chakra as well since the kikaichū would feast on it.

Haikyo knew that he had the advantage when it came to physical prowess--his entire life had been constructed of training his body--not his chakras or his ability to wield his soul energies. Hell, he had only learnt how to tap into his soul's energy effectively earlier that day. There was little chance that he would be able to effectively utilize this energy for long durations without being drained of his energy very quickly. Juugou seemed to be quite the opposite. He had spent his life learning about his insects and how to wield them and communicate with them. He wondered if he would be as good at controlling his souls as Juugou was at controlling the insects, eventually. As he burst in toward the boy, he unleashed the savage straight toward his jaw, and Juugou's head snapped back with the force of the punch, causing the boy to stumble back a couple of paces. However, after the boy stumbled, his feet found their holding points and he stood anchored with a strong stance. There was a reason that he had told the boy to go all out. It was not because he wanted to fight the boy all out in a bare-knuckle brawl. That would just proclaim Haikyo the victor instantly. But Haikyo knew that if he went all out, he would force the enemy to think of ways to escape his strikes and effectively fight back against them. He was more than impressed when the boy was able to think quickly after being rattled by a blow to the jaw, and create a long tentacle out of the swarming insects that he used to bat away Haikyo's hand. As the insects smashed against his arm, it truly felt like a solid blow, not some flimsy group of bugs. The front runners under Juugou's control were blasted back by a bit of a shock-wave. So much chakra meeting in once explosive impact caused quite the spark to fly.

He watched as a couple of the bugs lay on the floor, stunned by the interaction, and Haikyo wondered if there was anything there that he could learn to use...if he could turn his persistent defense into some form of reflective explosion. However, as he was looking at the insects, he had let his guard down--something he felt shame for. For letting your guard down was not only a foolish mistake that made you look like a poor warrior, but it also showed disrespect to your foe...and Haikyo had nothing but respect for the younger boy. However, Juugou took the opportunity and a wave of insects came smashing in and pushed him backwards multiple times, until there was a bit of space between them. The insects rushed back to Juugou's side, forming a couple of rings around the boy. He chuckled at Juugou's comments about being physically able, and he shook his head slightly. "Aye, my body is trained, and with it I have become very capable in my martial arts. But, in this world of ours, our bodies are not our only weapons. I may be fast, but I can only do the things within human capabilities. You, on the other hand, have a trump card. Abilities that surpass human capabilities. That go beyond the physical body. These...these are what you can win with." He stated with a nod, though he thought about it for a moment after. "As long as you can keep up." He said with a wink and another laugh. The boy had risen to the challenge, and he was readying himself to use his own set of skills he was learning. Suddenly the insects blasted into the air and separated into multiple different clouds, and all of them began to swarm toward him in different directions. The attack came down toward him viciously and the Yomi member braced himself, lowering his stance for more shock absorption before crossing his hands over his head to intercept the blow.

The green webbing exploded across his arms as he blocked the attack, feeling very little force, having the soul skin absorb most of it for him. However, as he did, the arms were also coming in toward him--to many things coming at once. He immediately tried to jump backwards away from them to give him more time to react to the incoming appendages, but as he hopped backwards the net of insects immediately came to life and intercepted him. It immediately threw itself around Haikyo's body, causing him to trip over himself, and they wrapped around him, the hands coming in as well, gripping at his legs and arms to stop as much of the boy's movement that they could. He struggled against it--his skin looking like a lightening show as each individual impact against his skin from the swarm of insects caused another light to appear on the surface of his body. He could feel himself being drained of his energy--the chakras being pulled away from him by these insects. So they fed not only on their host, but on anyone's chakra. They could drain an enemy completely of their energy and ability to fight...it was absolutely incredible. Haikyo would learn from these insects. But for now...he had to escape...but he was on the ground, his movement restricted, and no matter how hard he struggled there were so many of them that he could not move while he was being suppressed this way. "Do...not...remove...these...pests!" He bellowed as he continued to struggle. "Unless I pass out...I have not conceded." He chukcled a little bit after that one, his voice strained as he pushed against the bugs. He needed to be stronger...he would not be able to escape this situation if he did not have the strength to break free of such an incredibly heavy force.

'Stronger. My body...it must...get stronger." He couldn't figure out how, but as he struggled more and more, he felt the shield becoming less and less effective. He couldn't hold it anymore. As the soul skin collapsed, the bugs seemed to be able to push down even harder--no longer inhibited by the defensive shell. Haikyo immediately felt his body being crushed under the weight of their driving force, but his eyes were still aflame with determination. He would not lose to these insects. They could steal his chakra all they wanted--his body was still able to move...his body was still...his body. His god damn body. He was able to lace his skin with the energy of souls to create a extra defensive barrier. Why not infuse his entire muscle with the energy, instead of just his skin...that had to at least do something. He took a deep breath and he relaxed for a moment, trying to breathe normally even with his lungs being suppressed by the insects. He felt the souls inside of him, and he clenched his fists. Much of the massive amount of soul energy that Haikyo had within his body was not his--but from the warriors of the battlefield he had absorbed, as well as the random souls between then and now that had leeched onto him now and again. But, as he learned to control this energy--he would also learn to control the souls of those people he had absorbed...and when he did, he knew his power was going to exponentially rise.

He felt the soul energy begin to mix with the chakra that he had left--even if there wasn't much of it. At that point, he felt the soul energy from his body increasing--swelling to counteract the missing chakras that Juugou had stolen, and he grinned from ear to ear as he felt the soul energy begin to seep into the muscle system. He flooded his veins with the soul energy so that it seeped into his blood cells and his blood cells effectively delivered the dose of energy to his muscles along with the oxygen in his blood. It was at this point that Haikyo's body began to emit a pale green light. His skin seemed almost translucent, his muscles beneath glowing with his soul so brightly that it seemed to hover around him like an aura as he lay there. Haikyo began to laugh as he felt it rushing through his body, and he took one last deep breath before he slammed a foot down into the ground with such force that the floor shook beneath the strike, shooting himself backwards in a sudden blast of speed. However, he had completely and totally underestimated the amount of force he was able to produce with his body enhanced as it was and he shot backwards so fast that he actually slammed into the far wall.

He blinked a couple of times before he stood up, the insects having their hold temporarily broken by the sudden explosive force, and Haikyo couldn't believe what he was looking at as he rose his hands in front of his face. They were literally glowing...this was incredible! "Your insects...they are incredible. The way they can incapacitate an enemy's ability to use their own energies. You're a dangerous foe for a man like me, Juugou." He said, his face looking completely content--as if he hadn't had more fun in his life. It was at this point that Haikyo kicked off again before the bugs returned to pin him once more. As he launched forward he pushed off with all his strength, sending himself blasting toward the Aburame. His body had easily gained double the strength and speed he had been exhibiting before, and as he flew toward Juugou, he found it almost too hard to track his enemies while he moved at the speed he was now able to move. He cocked his fist back as he launched himself forward and as he came close he hurled the clenched fist toward Juugou's gut, though, he was unable to stop himself as he was going, so after throwing the punch, his massive momentum continued, and caused Haikyo to fly into the wall behind him, yet again, his face smashing against the hard surface. "Ahhh, god damnit!" He cursed, holding his forehead, a small bead of blood dripping down it from the impact. "Forgot about the whole bugs messing up my barrier deal." He said with a chuckle as he was now facing Juugou once again, his back to the same wall. This time, Haikyo pressed one foot against the wall and kicked off of it--launching himself at Juugou even harder, though this time, he slammedh is hand down into the ground right before reaching the younger boy and flipped his body forward in a cartwheel-like movement, though he swung his foot more horizontally, using his hand as an anchor on the ground as the kick came flying in toward Juugou's shoulder. After the impact of the kick, Haikyo, once again, would slip from his grip on the floor, the momentum and strength behind it too much for him to control, and for that moment he would be left completely vulnerable as he slipped to the ground and had to recover from it--though Juugou would have to worry about the kick before he could worry about the counter.

[ooc: Just so you know, the soul skin is fully invisible while it is active, UNTIL it is hit against something. So it doesn't look like there's anything there, until something contacts his skin, and the webbing appears, tracing outward from the impact across his skin. ^-^
So, it still makes sense that Juugou would see it after the punch, since it would have done that spreading web-like pattern as soon as the fist hit the jaw. I just wanted to make sure you knew exactly how it looked. ^-^]

As the trio entered the office, Sai cast a casual glance around the room before focusing onto the conversation being held. With a nod, Ebiru waved for the genin to take a seat before his desk. "Yes, we received the evidence early in the day. We have already identified it to be a mineral ore originating from the land of Earth, the fact that such a rare ore has found its way so far from home is actually quite alarming as Tschukikage has long since embargoed it's trade with the rest of the world for the last forty odd years.

The last time any of this ore was found outside of their country was perhaps twelve years ago in a failed assassination attempt on a Daiyamo in the land of Sand. The ore had been found in some of the assassin's tools. The Tschukikage claimed that it was a rogue agent and requested for the personal effects to be returned but it's rumored that some of the tools had been kept and melted down for the alloy.

Regardless of that, it would be for the best if we find out who exactly is smuggling it in to our country. Once we learn that we can proceed from there. I need the three of you to discretely learn who was buying from Hassahiro, maybe we will even find our killer but you are not to engage or reveal your motives. If whoever is pulling the strings starts to get spooked we'll loose everything."
With a gesture, Ebiru dismissed the team onto their next mission.

After Juugou had pushed Haikyo away to put some distance between themselves, the older Genin took that opportunity to replay to the statement Juugou had made about physical ability. He agreed that because of his martial arts training his physical capabilities were superior. However there were individuals who had 'trump cards' that allowed them to surpass human ability, such as the Aburame and their insects. Juugou cocked his head to the side while raising an eyebrow. Haikyo seemed to be sure of his words, nodding pointedly after speaking, but it was almost as if he considered his own abilities a regular human's. The Yomi laughed after taunting the young Aburame's ability to keep up and readied himself to make a move, but at that point Juugou had already set his trap in motion. Haikyo managed to block the overhead attack with his soul reinforced arms. The swarm was repelled in every direction with some insects becoming stunned while others carried out the net formation order. When the hand-shaped swarms moved in Haikyo jumped backwards as Juugou predicted and was subdued, but not before the parts of the older teen's that were exposed flared up with green webbing. His head was revealed as to not suffocate him accidentally, but the rest of his body was beneath a writhing black mass of chakra-devouring bugs.

Juugou relaxed a little as his kikaichū went to work draining Haikyo of his chakra reserves, though he kept his distance and his arms up in order to control the insects quickly if needed. The older teen yelled for the young Aburame to leave the insects where they were as long as he was still conscious, to which Juugou replied, "I would never willingly make you lose consciousness. It goes against the medic codes. But if you insist on keeping the bugs there i'll continue to let them feed on your chakra until you're all out. I believe you have a little less than half left at this point." and after a brief pause he added, "And these guys are not pests. They don't bother anyone unless i tell them to!" Juugou smiled despite himself. It was nice to have someone to have someone to measure his skills against. He had spent months developing his skills on himself and the fish he caught to experiment his healing jutsu on, but it was a far cry from this dynamic exchange. Before today the young Aburame had never used his insect offensively on anybody. His brothers were more interested in medical billing and coding, as well as pharmacy techs. They didn't care much for the ins and outs of combat. In a sense Haikyo is teaching me how to defend myself... he thought, realization dawning on him. Juugou looked back at Haikyo and frowned. The Yomi was laying there on the floor, covered from the neck down in bugs and grinning like some madman. "Wha-?" was all Juugou managed to get out before Haikyo began to glow a pale green similar to the green light that was emitted when something struck his soul skin. "Oh, no..."

Haikyo started laughing as he sat up and raised his leg. Luckily Juugou was already alert and managed to get his insects out of the way as the older teen stomped on the ground with enough force for the young Aburame to feel the impact from where he was standing. Haiko then kicked off the ground with so much force that he sailed across the air and hit the far wall with an audible thud, but apparently he didn't feel it. The Yomi rose from the ground staring at his glowing hands in disbelief for a moment before collecting himself and putting his attention back on Juugou. The older teen praised the younger's insects, calling them incredible due to their ability to incapacitate their foes, and claiming that Juugou was a dangerous opponent for himself. The young Aburame was about to send his insects when Haikyo vanished for a second. He reappeared as a blur sailing through the air past him with an outstretched fist that kept going until it hit the wall behind Juugou. The younger genin turned around to hear Haikyo curse and see him holding his forehead, which he had injured upon colliding with the wall. "My bugs ate through almost all of your chakra reserves, so on EARTH could you possibly be GLOWING?!" he asked but Haikyo simply chuckled before launching himself at the young Aburame again. Juugou reflexively crossed his arms in front of him and braced for impact. The Yomi's empowered kick landed with such speed and force that the younger genin didn't have time to call for a defense. PROTECT. he thought, and the insects rushed past his airborne body and created a padding where his body would've hit the wall. The impact still knocked all the air out of Juugou when he slumped to the floor. The backs of his forearms throbbed and felt as if they were on fire. He looked over at Haikyo who was thankfully still at the far wall and signalled that he was surrendering. There was no way that he could keep up with the Yomi as he was now. The insects returned to his body, including the ones that had been hiding in Haikyo's clothes earlier. Hopefully they had gathered some of whatever that green energy was for analysis later. Juugou got up slowly and went over to take a seat by the refreshments table and opened a bottle of water. "So much for being within human limits, eh?" he asked said to the Yomi before taking a drink of the refreshing liquid.

Upon the briefing for the new mission ending, Kaito stood back up in quite a hurry. This whole situation was pretty rough, especially for the dead headless guy. In Kaito's eyes though, this was his first mission that'd actually prove useful for his village. They were to go undercover and learn what they could about this rare ore incident, and hopefully dig deep enough to figure the reasoning for the murders. From first glance it seemed like someone was just merely murdered for said rare ore, maybe something else was going on behind the scenes that would shake things up a bit? Who knew, it was their job to find out though and that's what they were planning to do!

The group exited the building, stopping just outside the door of the office. The genin scratched his head, turning his attention back to the squad. "So yeah... You guys have any idea where to start?" Although Kaito being native to the village, he hadn't even the slightest idea where they could begin their search. Even though every inch of the leaf village was mapped in his head, finding serial killers and smuggled rocks wasn't ever on his to do list before tonight.

Obviously the monk hadn't the slightest idea where to go as he was new to this setting, Sai might have had some potential for a starting point at least. He seemed crafty and knowledgeable as if he'd knew his way around, like he'd always been a step ahead. Whether that was good or bad, maybe they'd benefit from this knowledge. If not, they'd just have to start sneaking around and trying to pick up info when they could. "Yeah I've been around nearly everywhere in the village, really there aren't many places I could imagine finding something like this. Maybe the old Uchiha district area? Honestly that place is still pretty abandoned. Might be worth checking into?" His guess was a educated guess at best, so unless the group had a better idea that could be a starting point for the trio at least.

There really was no slum in the village hidden in the leaves, but the Uchiha district was the closest thing after the destruction of said area several years ago. "That place is probably the grimiest place in town, I've heard a few rumors over the years about bad stuff going on over there. I'm sure you two both have heard about the slaughter that happened there forever ago?" A few Uchiha had been popping up over the years throughout the village, but for obvious reasons nobody had wanted to repopulate the area. "Ever since then, place has been a barren part of the village." Kaito hadn't ever made his way to that portion of the village, but it had always been one of those things that interested him, even if a whole bloodline was nearly killed there...

Haikyo was impressed with the younger boy's ability to plan ahead and lay his traps so properly. It meant he was good at examining a battlefield and deciding where and when an opponent might make their next move. That kind of ability was going to come in extremely useful when they actually got into real battles...well...when they eventually did get there. Considering it looked like they would be chasing around cats for a little while longer. The boy had told him that it was against their medic code to let an ally lose consciousness willingly, and he stroked his chin...that could make for some very difficult decision in the future. Though, he hoped that the boy was at least able to see when someone was beyond saving. If Juugou could not realize when he had to let someone fall, then he could die himself for nothing. Haikyo chuckled internally, however, when the boy argued that his bugs were not pests. They were miracle working pieces of gold, sure, but to an enemy...they were god damn pests--and that was a good thing. He could hear Juugou mutter to himself, a quick 'oh no' as he saw the light begin to glow across Haikyo's skin. The boy was right to feel afraid--though not even Haikyo knew that the ability could increase his abilities by such a large margin. When he had attempted to strike Juugou the first time and missed, the boy turned around to him, asking him how the hell he could be glowing at this time, when so much of his chakra had been absorbed by the Aburame boy.

He looked down at the trace of blood on the back of his hand where he had wiped it away. A small smile appeared across his features as he knew he was getting somewhere. He was already learning, with Juugou's help, how to use his energies. He had only begun today, and it seemed the applications of it were endless! He had spent so much time focusing on his parents' martial forms, that he hadn't even considered how effective it could be to infuse these energies into his skills. He had always been warned against using the abilities, by his parents, so he had kept them at bay for so long. Now, though, he was free of their oppression--free to learn and to experiment. Perhaps they had decided it was time for him to use his power--that he was ready to control it. As he was coming for Juugou the second time, the boy did not have the time to bring up his insects in front of Haikyo's kick, and when the strike impacted the boy's arms, he found that it landed much harder than he had originally anticipated, and Juugou was actually launched backward with incredible force. The boy was able to cushion the blow with his bugs, saving him from any real damage, other than getting winded by the impact. When Juugou raised his hands in front of him in surrender, Haikyo smiled sheepishly and he dropped his combat stance, walking toward Juugou, breathing deep and slow, though without actually panting. Juugou looked a little stiff as he stood up from his position on the floor, and he got himself a bottle of water. Haikyo followed suit, grabbing a bottle and draining it down very quickly, before breathing out a sigh of contentment. Juugou made a comment about human limits, and Haikyo laughed.

"Apparently, in this world, there are more than human limits, even for me. Though, I still must say--the fact that you were able to react in time to get your arms up to block that kick--as well as having the insight to cushion your blow against the wall with the insects...you're a very sharp thinker when it comes to combat awareness. I...am not so much the same this way. I just, well, do things." He said with a shrug. Perhaps it made him unpredictable in ways, or perhaps it meant that he would face great issues in combat because he was not structured, or thinking about the ways he could catch people by surprise. He knew how to use his body as a weapon...that was about it. But, now, he had to learn how to use the weapon that was his body all over again...because he was using an empty gun before...now, with these energies inside of him, actually responding to his will...his gun had been loaded with some damn fine bullets. He had everything he needed to make this work--to finally become a true Yomi, and to teach those ways to others...to bring his clan back from the depths, and return them to their former glory. He would...he had to. But, now was the time to focus on attaining that goal, and to get himself strong enough to actually expand his clan. For now...for now, he just had to enjoy the trip. He had so many things buzzing around his head that he wanted to try. He wanted to figure out what he could and could not manage to do. It was all quite overwhelming at first, but, it was exciting. One of the main things that had worked his way into his mind was the idea of the bugs that siphoned chakra from the enemy...he wondered if he could manage to steal energies from his enemies, as well.

"So, where do we go from here? I still have much more to work on, and to discover...though, I am sure that I can do that any time. I don't want to keep you too long, if you have anything else you wish to do." He stated, clapping his hands together and bowing toward the boy. "You've already helped me so much today...there is nothing I can do to thank you as much as you deserve. Are there any skills you need practice on that are not combat oriented that you would like a test subject for?" He asked eagerly, more than happy to aid the boy in any way that he could--especially with the massive amount of help Juugou had already been to him.

Haikyo joined Juugou for a rest, standing by the table as he also picked up a bottle of water and drank it quickly. The older teen laughed when Juugou had made his remark on being within human limits, and replied stating that apparently there were more than human limits even for him. He then went on to commend the young Aburame for being able to guard against the kick that sent him flying across the room, while also having the presence of mind to use his insects as a cushion, adding that Juugou was a sharp thinker when it came to combat. The barrage of compliments caused the younger genin's face to redden slightly. "To be honest, it was just reflex. My father thought us from an early age to remain calm even in the most dire situations, no matter our level of comfort. And it's a miracle that i even had the presence of mind to maneuver my insects that fast because that kick did a number on my arms." The areas that were struck by Haikyo's leg were beginning to swell, but the insects under his skin were keeping the blood from pooling while using some of the chakra siphoned from the Yomi to medicate the wounds internally. "The kikaichū may have been able to absorb some of the impact, but i still hit the wall pretty hard so my body is gonna feel the impact in the morning." said Juugou with a stiff chuckle. Haikyo barely seemed bothered by the exertion he demonstrated, simply breathing slightly harder than normal. The younger teen was a bit worse for wear due to the beating he had just received, but it wasn't something he couldn't bounce back from given a bit of rest.

As Juugou began to drink down the rest of his water Hakyo asked about what they would be doing next. The older teen seemed to be really eager to get things done now that he had had awakened to his abilities. While the Aburame pondered on what their next course of action would be, Haikyo expressed his gratitude in his own overt way and volunteered to help Juugou with any non-combat techniques he had by becoming a test subject. The younger teen couldn't help but to grin and wave his arms in front of him. "Easy, Haikyo! One thing at a time!" chuckled Juugo. "There will be plenty of time for you to work on your glow stick abilities. And no i don't have any pressing matters to tend to so you aren't keeping me. I had actually finished my errands for the day when i met you earlier." Juugou got up and pocketed a few snack bars and another water bottle before heading for the door. "By the way, we are friends. No need to be so formal and gracious, buddy. Seeing you progress, smile and have a good time is more than enough for me." As they exited the room and made their way back to the lobby a thought came to Juugou. There were several experiments that required a second person, aside from his healing jutsu. He brought out an insect from his sleeve, had it perch on top of his index finger and brought it up to his face to examine. "Huh. That's new." he said, raising his eyes in surprise. The kikaichū had green markings all over it that faintly glowed the way Haikyo's skin had earlier. Was it from eating his chakra while he started glowing earlier? he wondered, having two others join the first insect. These had the same glowing marks as the first. "Look at this!" said Juugou excitedly, bringing his hand closer to the Yomi's face so he could get a better look. "It seems that my insects siphoned off some of that power of yours and mutated. Those marks normally don't appear on our bugs!"

At this point the two genin were already outside and the sun had set. The street lamps provided adequate lighting to make it possible to see until the next lamp. Juugou was so intrigued by the new mutation that he forgot about the techniques he wanted to work on. When he remembered and was about to bring it up to Haikyo he noticed three shadowy figures running toward them. As they got closer he noticed that each of them had a scroll in their hand, and they showed no signs of slowing.
"STOP THOSE THIEVES!!" he heard a familiar voice shout, and just as the trio passed by (one to either side and one jumping over them), Juugou sent his 3 insects to latch on to their clothes. Moments later a middle aged man wearing a robe suit came around the corner panting. It was the librarian at the Academy.
"Grunnard-sensei?!" called Juugou as he dashed towards his mentor. He was out of breath, but otherwise fine. "What happened?" asked the Aburame as he proffered his unopened water bottle for the man to take. Nodding gratefully Grunnard took, unscrewed the cap and took a sip.
"Three shinobi made off with a few important scrolls i was going to deliver to important individuals. The scrolls are not easy to open, but if they get their hands on the contents we may be in grave danger. So please... get those scrolls back!" Juugou looked into Grunnard's eyes and could see the honesty hidden behind the shame. He smiled, then patted the librarian on the shoulder.
"You can count on us, sensei. Let's go Haikyo! We have some thieves to catch!"

Hajime listened to the debreifing, and the breifing for the next mission. He nodded slowly, and let it all soak in. Rare ores were being smuggled about the country to be melted down for a particular mysterious alloy. Their mission was to find the source. As they left the building, Kaito stopped there to talk about the task at hand. Hajime shrugged towards Kaito, and said breifly "You're not far off."

He began to walk ahead of the other two, "I'm sure it's a bit odd for me to say such, but I do know where the black market operates." He paused, recollecting the last time he was in the village, "I should clarify. The last time I came to Konohagakure, my master took us on a detour to an odd location to pick up a parcel containing some... illicit substances. The ninja monks would occasionally help those plagued by the temptation of drugs and alcohol, and they found that it helped to wean the abuser off of the substance than to force them to quit suddenly. It's safer, you see."

"The market for illicit materials in this city can't operate in a place so desolate as the ghost town you mentioned. Too suspicious. However, just outside of the Uchiha Clan's property is a small shrine dedicated to their loss. Just beyond that are several opportunistic shops that prey on travelers who wish to see a place veiled in shinobi mystery and history. It's inside their back rooms that the real interesting trade deals happen."

Hajime took them close enough to view the shrine. The moon was up, and the sun down, and even now- this plaza was lit, and had some odd, rich-looking folk strolling about- taking in the Uchiha Clan's lost legacy. Hajime tipped his conical hat towards one of the booths.

Keeping his voice low, he informed them, "That one there- with the green roof- is where we went for the parcel. That vendor was connected to Sora-Ku. My master said that Sora-Ku mostly do weapons trades, but occasionally deal in shinobi-enhancing and rare drugs. It's hard to say whether that vendor would know anything about the alloy or not."

As the monk spoke, Sai took the time to survey the area. For the most part the district was empty, but that was to be expected for the late hour they were traveling. With the moon hidden behind clouds and the night clinging close, it was hard to tell if there was anyone that had eyes on them at the moment.

"I think it would be for the best if you two hanged back." He said, motioning to approach the stall but stalled, a thought coming to his mind as he looked back at his two companions. "Perhaps not. You're familiar with this place, monk, so they would recognize your face. Go together looking for ways to ween this one off of his alcohol addiction, thankfully he still reeks of it so it wont be hard to believe.

I will find a place to watch and cover your exit in case things go wrong. Before leaving make sure to ask for some protection for the road and pay mind where he keeps those wares hidden. We'll wait for a chance to investigate further once we know what the general layout is."

Turning to look at the Uchiha compound, he gestured towards it's barren walls. "For now, we should probably get some rest and wait until dawn breaks. I'm sure it'll rouse less suspicion if you come at more reasonable hours then not. We can hide there and take shifts watching the comings and goings of the shop and area. I'll take the first shift if there are no qualms."

Kaito shook his head listening to Sai's idea, basically using him as bait. "I guess it's for the best that I didn't stop home and shower eh?..." Chuckling, he'd follow that with a yawn raising his hands above his head for a long stretch. Seems like this long night was gonna translate into possibly an early morning. "I am getting pretty tired myself, I don't think I'll be getting sleep anytime soon though. I don't sleep too well without a few drinks in me, and unfortunately I'm pretty sobered up." Although being a drunk, Kaito didn't really have much of a problem with it. Drunk people were fun, and he thoroughly enjoyed drinking himself. It was like no matter what was going on around you, alcohol was always guaranteed for a good time.

"Yeah I think that's a good call, my shirt makes for a good disguise." Speaking of the reeking smell of alcohol and the weird stains all over said shirt, it was... A strange active camouflage. "Yeah you can go first, I'll try and catch some sleep. Haven't had too many opportunities these last couple of days with all the traveling, really starting to ware me down a bit." It was true, the boy could probably sleep for hours upon hours.

The drunkard made his way to a patch of grass, sitting down leaning against a large tree. This wasn't exactly his napping spot of choice but it'd have to do. The tree would serve as cover, as he sat the opposite direction of the building they were keeping eyes on. "I'm gonna try and take a quick rest, just lemme know when it's my turn or whatever." Upon taking a seat, the little energy Kaito had left from his second wind instantly left. Maybe this sleep thing would come a little easier than he thought...

Hajime nodded, "Indeed. That would be a wise idea." He followed his two companions behind the Uchiha walls and stood nearby as they made themselves comfortable in a location where they could see the goings-on near the shrine. However, Hajime wasn't feeling particularly tired, nor did he feel that he needed rest. He politely declined, "I can stay up a bit later, Sai. Knowing how you've been running around today... and Kaito has been traveling non-stop... and I've been merely walking... why don't I take first watch?"

For the first hour of his watch, Hajime calmly reflected on his first day as ninja. He swallowed, resenting this new addition to his identity. But.... it was for the better good, he acknowledged. Even now, they were following a trail to something Hajime hated more. Ninja are scum, that's a fact, he thought, but criminals are worse. They follow no rules, no law. They create a world that benefits no one except for themselves and their pockets. Disgusting folk. Hajime felt a stirring in his chest. He rubbed his lip with his thumb, and shuddered. He couldn't wait until morning to do this operation.

The monk glanced at the sleeping form of Kaito. His slow breathing, and occasional movements made him certain that Kaito was knocked out. With Sai... he wasn't so certain. Hajime looked the ninja up and down. Sai was certainly relaxed, but he didn't trust the bratty genin as far as he could throw him.

Hajime rose quietly and stepped out of their hiding spot. He glanced both ways on the dark, empty street, then shuffled off. He pounced over the wall of the Uchiha Clan's old quarters, and slid down into an alley. From there, he took on his usual, slow, meandering pace over to where criminals made their deals. He swallowed hard before stepping out of the shadows into the warm flickering light of their lanterns. Hajime tipped his conical hat up, and approached the shrine. The monk shuffled to his knees, and kept his ears pealed for any suspicious movement nearby. He recited a brief prayer for the dead- with a special addition for the unjustly slain.

There was quiet on the street as Hajime grew silent. He got up from the shrine, thumbing his prayer beads, then strode over to the cart. A tired, shady looking man greeted him, "Eyyy~ What's a man of the cloth doing out so late, huh? Here to buy some beads?"

Hajime swallowed and recalled the line that his master had used. Then recited, "I've heard from afar that you sell an exotic incense."

The tired salesman's eyes lit up, "Ah, yes- I have some in the back. Please follow me."

He took a step back and pulled aside a curtain into a shadowy back room. Hajime ran his tongue across his teeth, then stepped through the arch. It took a moment for his eyes to adjust, but as soon as they did- he realized that he wasn't alone. Two others were waiting back here- hired thugs. They looked to be ex-shinobi as well. Hajime reflected on the danger present in this room. The salesman stepped in and began to rustle through some boxes.

He said, "What kind of drug are you looking for today, Father?"

"A new acquaintance of mine indulges heavily in spirits. Rice wine- and imports from other lands. I have been seeking Kudzu for its alcoholism-deterring properties, but I've been informed from several apothecaries that the plant is banned in Fire Country. The monk smiled softly, and waved his hand, "Something about how quickly the plant grows. I don't know."

The crooked man pulled out a glass bottle filled with brilliant green leaves, "Here's the stuff, Father. It's a costly import I'll have you know." He grinned with gold teeth, "I hope you having been breaking open the coffers to pay for this, heheh."

Hajime's thin lips soured, "I would never." He pulled out a few coins, "How much will this buy?"

"A sprig at most."

"I will have to come back for more." The monk traded the money for a sprig of the invasive weed, and tucked it away in his pocket. It brought a slight smile to his face, when he thought he might actually put the expensive leaves to use.

"It's been good dealing with you, Father."

The monk turned to leave, but stopped about three-fourths of the way into the turn, "Hold on- there was one more thing I wanted." He paused, took a deep breath, then added, "I'm looking to make rings for a special prayer staff, and I've been looking for rare metals in which to make it with. I've heard interesting things about a new metal from the Land of Earth that's being smuggled into Fire Country. I'd like to know more- if you're knowledgeable about the material.

The mercenaries around the room looked uneasy. The salesman grew quiet, studying the Monk's stoic face. "Yeah- I got a bit of the stuff, but I don't have much. It's hot right now, and I doubt you could afford it."

Hajime frowned, "Oh- that's a shame. May I see the sample, just to see if it's the sort of material I'd like to use?" The crooked man agreed to that, and showed Hajime a small tablet of the metal in question. Hajime turned it in his hand, rubbing his chin with the other, "I would hate to go over your head, of course- but would it be too much to ask who I can buy this stuff from? Should I round up enough money- I would like to spend it on this metal. It feels like it would be quite excellent for my prayer staff. Lightweight- but so sturdy."

Hajime felt as though he'd touched on something he shouldn't have. A strange feeling had overcome the room. It was like he was in the dark about some bigger situation. He felt a cool bead of sweat trickle down his temple.

"If you can get the money together- I'm getting a big shipment tomorrow. Come back then." The salesman said, obviously something on his mind. Hajime wondered if it had to do with Hassahiro Yagami.

Hajime bowed and tipped his head, then left the building. He walked for as long as it took for him to make sure he was no longer followed, then slipped into the Uchiha compound, and back to his watch.

He waited only a moment or two, then woke Sai, "It's your turn... and I have good news... we have a new mission for the morning."

Haikyo stroked his chin as he was listening to Juugou explain how his father had trained him to be calm in any situation. It was very sound advice, and would likely save the boy on many occasions to come. Panicking only made things worse--it shorted out your brain and didn't allow you to process things as quickly, though it was something that Haikyo wasn't the best at toning out. He found himself just trying his best not to think at all--if he tried too hard to calculate things, he would worry himself that he was not going to be able to succeed in what he wanted to do. When he cleared his mind, removing the distractions, he found that he could let his body move for him, instinct was his best friend. He had always been this way, since he was young. "I am sorry about your arms. I did not mean to hurt you...this whole, erm, learning to use my energies thing...it is all very new to me. I didn't think it would increase my physical capabilities so drastically." He stated, obviously concerned by the swelling in the boy's arms. Though, he knew that Juugou was okay; if the bones were broken, he wouldn't be able to use his arms so well at the present time. "This stiffness your body feels only drives your body to strengthen itself. It will be a good lesson for your body to remember, and to overcome." Haikyo said, very optimistically as he gently slapped Juugou on the shoulder, being sure not to hurt the boy any more than he already had. Haikyo had very little experience with the effects of combat, so for all he knew, the arms technically could be broken, and the bit of swelling visible, a terrible sign, but he took comfort in Juugou's seeming well health. He imagine the boy would tell him if there was anything wrong, or he needed some form of medical attention for it.

Haikyo smirked as Juugou stated that he had finished his errands, and that he had nothing pressing to attend to. They had spent a large portion of their day together, completing a few missions and training. It had been the most productive day of Haikyo's life, and he was incredible pleased that he had followed his parents advice and come here. "Glow stick?" He asked, tilting his head, unsure of what the boy was talking about. Is that what his abilities were? Glow Stick abilities? He had no idea that the skills he was developing were already known and documented. Had Juugou learned more about Haikyo's clan than he had originally let on? Perhaps he would have to speak with him further about this. But, his thought process was interrupted as Juugou told him that they were friends, and he didn't have to be so formal or gracious. Haikyo screwed his face up a little bit, confused as he looked at Juugou. "It is because we are friends, Juugou, that I treat you graciously and with respect. You deserve nothing less." The Yomi stated with a curt nod. Juugou muttered something as they walked outside into the dim light of the falling sun. Haikyo walked up to him as the younger teen was observing something on his finger, and then, suddenly, he turned and thrust it up into Haikyo's face for a closer look. When Haikyo saw the pale green lines appear across the bug's body, his eyes widened. He was about to open his mouth to say something, but then Juugou fully explained that they had siphoned off of Haikyo's energy and mutated. They had been exposed to Soul Energy, and as such, they had changed in order to utilize it. "Incredible...this is...this is incredible, Juugou. There are so many things you may be able to do with this! What if your insects could gain the same physical boost as I utilized in that training facility? They could become extraordinarily strong, and small. It could be a deadly combination!" Haikyo stated, peering at the bug, and the randomly tracing green lines that appeared across it.

They were still walking, when suddenly a loud voice cut through the darkness, and Haikyo quirked a brow as he saw three people running towards them. The man had told them to stop the thieves, only a moment before he, too, arrived around a turn in the road, panting heavily. It seemed that Juugou and the man were previously acquainted. When he called the man sensei, Haikyo wondered immediately who the man might be, if Juugou respected him so much. As Grunnard explained that he had been robbed, and the three people had run away with a few scrolls that he had been on route to deliver to some important people, Haikyo nodded, as he asked them to get them back for him. Juugou seemed fired up and as he stated that they had some thieves to catch, Haikyo clapped a fist to an open palm and bowed to Grunnard in respect. "We will get them back for you, and unopened. These criminals shall not succeed." He stated, turning on his heel and nodding to Juugou. It was time to do this. There were so many different things going on, and so many new things he was learning that it was almost hard to keep up with, though he was managing in his own ways. His mind went back to the Aburame insects, and he wondered if he could learn from them. If he could ever figure out how to sap off energy from people the way that they could, to sustain himself. He stroked his chin as he took a deep breath and launched forward toward the direction that the three people had been running. They couldn't have made it too far.

"You split up your insects and see if there's anything you can find to catch their trail! I will get to higher ground, and when you identify the location, with your bugs, have them do this!" He stated, creating an infinity sign with his finger, over and over. This would be the sign that the criminals were in that location, if the bugs found them. Haikyo immediately ran up the wall of the building beside him, using his wall climbing ability, sticking to it as if he were taking a leisurely stroll down a normal path. When he reached the roof, he looked around for somewhere that had a decent view over the village, and he saw a water-tower not far from where he was. He immediately made a mad dash toward it, reaching it quickly and perching on top of it, scanning over the city constantly, keeping an eye out for any sort of movement by Juugou's insects. When he saw them, he would be ready to blast off to that location as fast as possible. He was sure Juugou would not be far behind him by that time, either. This was going to work!
