singlikenoonecanhearyou Okay everyone your doing great, now those of you who have healed the bones of the skeleton and cat, try the gerbil. *conjurs a fake gerbil skeleton* These are some of the smallest bones, so try on healing these ones, try at least 5-10 times, to make sure you have it down. Dorian goes over to the cat and breaks a thigh bone, then mends it with the incantation, this time saying it slightly less loud but managing the same effect. Then he goes towards the gerbil and picks a rib, snaps it into bits "episkey" then he moves onto three more ribs, shatters them into more pieces and murmurs the incantation thrice to have pieces be rejoined and feel as solid as before " nice..." He is satisfied. Dorian lastly breaks the skull and mends it, to then go and take a seat.

Liviana began breaking and fixing the bones of the cat with Episkey. With each snap and crack of the bones breaking and mending, she got paler and paler. She quickened her pace, speeding up to work on the gerbil, but she wobbled, and woozily made her way back to her desk. She put her head down, and placed her hands on it, her face a sick gray color.

Liviana opened her eyes and looked at the boy standing before her. She realized he was asking if she was okay. "I'll be fine. I broke my leg once as a child, and I've always been queasy about breaking bones sense then," she murmured, lowering her head back onto the desk.

Besides...you should let the professor know if such assignments bother you so." He smiled warmly.

"I know they're not real," she said, her voice muffled, "but I can't help it if the noise brings back unpleasant memories. I thought I could handle this lesson."

*Walks up to the gerbil skeleton, examining all the miniscule bones* Hmm... This will do. *Reaches up to it and snaps one of it's toes* Episkey. *The toe reseals itself, though slightly unaligned* Well this won't do, will it now?

I watched the other students practice on the smaller animal bones, I felt sorta lazy since I only practiced on the human ones, but once you learned to do it on one set of bones, doing it on others was not that hard, you just had to consecrate more on the smaller ones. Thinking to myself that Professor Sing might just being trying to keep us busy until our regular professor returned.

Aludra Yvette... Feeling like she had nothing left to do, Aludra laid her head down on the table and looked around the classroom. Everyone seemed to be mending those bones endlessly. Once you've mended one bone, you've healed them all in her opinion. ...6th Year Slytherin

LeBookworm "Thank goodness -- thanks Meiko.
So what is everyone discussing? Healing spells? I love those." I say eagerly, betraying myself to be the dork I really am. xD
"So what year are you?" Meiko nods and says calmly at her as she grins. "Yes, we're trying Episkey on those broken bones. Oh, and I'm in my 6th year. How about you?"

Liviana feebly got up from her desk and began working on the gerbil. The cracking and snapping noises weren't as terrible as those from the human or the cat. Still, she did the charm as quickly as she could. The noise made her hair stand on end.
Having a broken bone as a wizard was not nearly as awful as having one as a muggle. She could still remember the searing pain in her leg as she fell off the stone wall, all alone, lying there for hours until her selfish parents realized she was missing. Then the painful ride to the hospital in her father's truck, him hitting every hole and rut in the old dirt road, waiting hours again in the emergency room for a doctor, having her leg snapped back into place, and then encased in plaster for weeks.
She had to rely on her parents for everything during that time, and every time she asked for a glass of water, or a book, she was always met with cruel comments about how stupid, how inconsiderate, how irresponsible she was. Liviana could not stand the sound of the breaking bones. It was calling back memories of a bad time.
She finished and made her way back to her desk, slumping down in the chair.

Ravenclaw, 2nd Year
Nam actually liked the crackling and popping sounds of the bones --- he thought it was gratifying. His eyes sparkled every time he snapped one in half. He pondered in the back of his mind if this made him a dangerous individual. The idea of snapping a real person's bones was still abhorrent to him though, so he assumed he was okay.
He snapped the cat's tail in half, then in fourths, then in eighths and spouted "Episkeyepiskeyepiskey!" Only he got caught up and cast too many episkeys and mended the tail into itself instead of the body, making a nice little bracelet sized circle of bones. "Professor Sing, there are spells to multiply things, right? May I borrow this and make a copy of it?" He held up the cat tail circlet.
