I've noticed lately that the only way to earn characters that comes up is customs. with knights costing 3mil for all three stages, I could never afford that. I don't even have 100k, and I don't think I'm the only one...

maybe a newbie question, but is there any way for me to earn a character, despite being poor? o o there was just that big metaplot event, yes, but are there chances for me to earn my wanted full character, not pre-made?

I really want to join in the game so I'm just wondering, please don't take offense or anything if this seems mean T T

Nessy: We are actually coming off of a meta where we gave out free civilians to everyone who played, as well as several free powered characters. This is not a rare occurrence and as soon as we get our ducks in a row will probably start having free concept contests again.

So the short answer is yes there are ways to get a character for free, so don't worry so much if you cannot afford a custom.

Will gold customs for guardian cats ever be available?

Mouse: Guardian Cats have always been bribe-only. There is always the possibility we'll explore other availability options for cats, but it probably would not be through gold customs if we did!

Is it possible to have a character who has skipped a grade in school? Obviously no kids with three degrees by sixteen, but someone going to college a year early, would that be okay?

Nessy: Yep! It should be pretty rare though and kept to really only one of your characters.

I have a question about knight worldbuilding. Avalon is the canonical (Arthurian canon, anyway) forging place of Excalibur (reference) and the place where King Arthur went to heal after the battle of Camlann. Since the canon from which the Arthurian wonders are drawn says that these two items are true, am I allowed to reference them in my wonder's backstory? (For instance, King Arthur's dead body in a crypt on Avalon or some such, or the blade Excalibur popping up in a cameo mention)

To what extent can I establish my wonder's backstory? Can I write it out as a small novel complete with a book of Genesis collection of begats, or should I keep it vague except for things which directly affect my modern-day character?

Could my character's ancestor, theoretically, have been the canon Lady of the Lake?

Could the Lady of the Lake be a hereditary title attached to the Knight of Avalon, and therefore they (Avalon Page and her ancestor) are not the singular Lady, but two Ladies of many?

Could my character's ancestor have known Arthurian canon characters, as long as they did nothing fundamental to affect the original story? (IE, the ancestor could not be Morgan Le Fay, she did not help Morgan Le Fay chain Merlin up, but she was on speaking terms with them. Basically, the same way senshi are allowed to reference the canon senshi.)

Mouse: When there is a legend, epic or myth associated with your wonder, you can do just about anything you like when it comes to establishing the backstory of that wonder. If you want help figuring out idead for it, please feel free to ask me!

The limits to what you can do are the same as what you can do with Sailor Moon canon in your backstories: you cannot make major reinterpretations of the legend, insert your character as a character in the legend, or have had significant relationships with characters in the legend. However, you CAN acknowledge that the story was a real historical event during the Silver Millenium and make references to it in the way you described in your last paragraph.

Having the Lady of the Lake be a title associated with Avalon Knight and establishing that your characters were different ones from the Lady of the legend sounds like a fair compromise.

As a follow-up to this question, I'd heard that one of the custom civilian poses (Marie Glapion) was going to be allowed to be used as a template for "curvy" characters. I know that Marie also had a custom Halloween civ done on the same template. Can you please clarify whether the curvy template is supposed to be a civilian template or a powered character template?

Also, will there be a second "curvy" template coming for whichever type (civ or powered) Marie's template doesn't apply to?

So... the cat thing is happening ICly through Thanksgiving now? Because... I see a really big IC crazy fit when all of the sudden a bunch of people are missing Thanksgiving with their families and have next to no way to inform them/just suddenly don't show up. The rest of the year I could see it just being swept over but on such an important time of the year for family gatherings is the sudden dissapearance going to be treated like the surrounding people going missing? News stories and cop investigations?

What about people who have preplanned or started pre-rping Thanksgiving rps with characters that are now cats? Are we supposed to retcon or completely scrap rps?

Nessy: If you signed up for a plot and no longer wish to be a part of it that is your call. Yes, at this point, you are going to have to choose to participate in the Cat-astrope plot or your Thanksgiving RPs. I want to stress that this was a player-run plot and we can't really control how fast or slow they move. The original time-skip that Lil had put in made things even more impossible RP-wise so this was the compromise that worked best for everyone.

If people are reported missing it will probably be approached the same as before but consider that in all, maybe two dozen people went missing? Consider how many people the Negaverse have killed over time and while it has indeed slowed there is still a large amount of unclosed missing persons cases in Destiny City! Whatever seems most logical for your character and their family is what you should do, but overall there is nothing huge and pressing that the city is acknowledging.

Since it actually hasn't come up yet.. How do DMC Senshi upgrade? Is it with a cat like regular Senshi? Or does it involve a mirror? When Gaia/Leto/Requiem went Super it happened in their corruption so no one has actually upgraded outside of that yet so I was curious how it worked XDDD

Akina: I'd go with a "magical pass through the mirror" sort of thing. The corruption stems from Ares passing through a black mirror, but the next power level would need to be unlocked by a cat. So! If they upgrade with only a mirror, you can handwave that a cat unlocked the next level at some time prior, or you can have the cat there and then have them step through a mirror and pop out at a new power level.
