Now I really don't want to do this. >.< My mother said it would only hurt for like a day. stare LIIIIESSS!!!

And yeah, I can't handle Tylenol 3s. ^^; I get stoned off of Tylenol Cold Extra Strenght. >.< (not the best way to go see Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers in theatres. . .)

Gah. crying

It'll be ok Sel! EVERYONE reacts diffrently xd Yours could be really easy like your mum said if it was easy for her, my mum got two of hers out and didn't get the others out for 30 years!! I only had 3 thankfully and got them all done and over with. whee

As for the Tylenol 3's, well, I have to take two because I have a really high metabolism, during the surgery the dentist had to give me the kind of anesthesia usually saved for major surgeries, and it kept starting to wear off! He was amazed how quickly the stuff tried to wear off me, it was messed gonk If painkillers affect you easily then you'll only need whatever gets the job done. Advil isn't as strong as Tylenol or I'd have that, because that helps with swelling, and my cheeks are huge sweatdrop

Well regarding wisdom teeth removal I might as well add my personal horror to this conversation. He put the needle in my arm and said that he was gonna count back from 10. I only remember him getting to 8.. sweatdrop Well all of a sudden I woke up....but the stuff was still in my mouth...I had woken up in the middle of the surgery! Evidently the needle had popped out of my vein! The nurse FREAKED and screamed "OMG SHE'S AWAKE!!" The doctor basically told her to shut up and then asked if I was okay. I couldn't feel anything it was just like "Wait a minute...I'm not supposed to be awake yet." Well then they put the needle back in and it was lights out for me. When I woke up the second time (when I was supposed to) I had an anxiety attack. (I have hypoglycemia which is the opposite of diabetes but treated the same way -I produce too much insulin while diabetics don't produce enough) Anyway in an anxiety attack your blood sugar bottoms out and you feel horrible. You get pale and have hot flashes out the wazoo and you get majorly depressed really quick....it wasn't fun stare They gave me apple juice and I was better afterwards. THEN the anesthesia made me puke for the next 24 hours (cause anesthesia doesn't like me...cause its evil...). Long story short....NOT FUN! gonk ....you know....I just realized this probably wasn't a good story to tell the first time wisdom tooth removal people... sweatdrop

No, no it wasn't. gonk

Actually that's one of my main fears regarding surgery: the whole "Waking up in the middle" thing.
I've always had surgeries looming on the horizon for me, as it were. I've got really bad knees that snap and grind and give out from time to time. My mom (she's a nurse) and some other people told me I might have to get surgery, but I've always refused because of that fear. Then there's my wrist. . . pretty much the same story. . . I've got bad joints. >.< My right shoulder is pretty bad too but I broke that collar bone when I was little.

Anyway yeah.

My metabolism needs to be prodded with a big stick. >.>

I'm in the happy column of regular Advil and Tylenol not working on me, and extra strength working too well. sweatdrop Which should make things interesting.

I know there are two ways to do it. One is just having things numbed but you're still conscious, and then the other is to go completely under. We'll see what happens I guess.

How long does it take? ^^;

Mine started at 4pm and lasted until approx. 6:30pm, and I only had three! xp The last bottom one didn't want to come out though, it kept fighting him and so he had to remove some more bone, and so even though that side had one tooth out vs. the two on the other side, it's the most swolen and sore sweatdrop

I was 17 when I had my Wisdome teeth pulled.
I think 4 teeth, but it could have been more, i don't know.
My appointment was at 9 or 10 am and was done between 12 and 1 pm.
It was a simple procedure.
They numbed my mouth all up and gave me that Gass stuff.
Then I was so out of it, and my Dr. thinks he is funny.
He says to me at noon or 1pm "Well Honey It's time for lunch. I'll be back and finish up when I'm done eating." then he gets up and walks out of the room. eek
So I can't talk, but I can sort of mumble. His helper lady comes in and starts the whole cleaning up process.
I was like "What! What does he mean, he finish later?"
The lady some who understood me, and said.
"Oh sweety, don't worry, he's done. He was just foolin with ya."
I was like "Oh, oh kay.
So then I go to stand up and the lady says, "Whos driving you home?"
I said. "Me."
She said. "Oh, then you need to sit here for a little bit."
I swear they made me sit there for over an hour, until I came down off the gass.
Then I went home with the gause in my mouth and layed on my mom's couch.
I got my perscription filled the next day.
It wasn't really that bad an expierience, but I will never forget it.

Sorry bout scaring you. sweatdrop I didn't feel anything when I woke up. Besides its very rare if you do. My problem is that my veins are relatively small so the needle popped out. You'll be fine. 3nodding

I'm not too fond of surgery's either...the idea of someone cutting in you while you're "asleep". And what if you wake up??

My mom had hers literally removed with just plier type things. The doctor gave her something to hold (stupidly enough, two glass tubes) and she ended up breaking them in her hand. And stupidly, she wore her fancy work uniform to the doctor's and got blood all over it. Sooo glad things have progressed since then.
